When she looked ahead, Florence Chadwick saw nothing but a solid wall of fog. Her body was numb. She had been swimming for nearly 16 hours.

Already she was the first woman to swim the English Channel in both directions. Now at age 34, her goal was to become the first woman to swim from Catalina Island to the California coast.

On that Fourth of July morning in 1952, the sea was like an ice bath, and the fog was so dense she could hardly see her support boats. Sharks cruised toward her lone figure, only to be driven away by rifle shots. Against the frigid grip of the sea, she struggled on-hour after hour-while millions watched on national television.

Alongside Florence in one of the boats, her mother and her trainer offered encouragement. They told her it wasn’t much farther. But all she could see was fog. They urged her not to quit. She never had . . . until then. With only a half- mile to go, she asked to be pulled out.

Still thawing her chilled body several hours later, she told a reporter, “Look, I’m not excusing myself, but if I could have seen land I might have made it.” It was not fatigue or even the cold water that defeated her. It was the fog. She was unable to see her goal.

Two months later, she tried again. This time, despite the same dense fog, she swam with her faith intact and her goal clearly pictured in her mind. She knew that somewhere behind that fog was land, and this time she made it!
Florence Chadwick became the first woman to swim the Catalina Channel, eclipsing the men’s record by two hours!

I wasn’t always blessed with luck – infact I kept having a whole lot of bad luck. I began to believe that I was unlucky and so I would keep having more bad luck – after all we keep getting what we believe don’t we?

So Dov baron’s blog post on becoming lucky is interesting.

When I was a kid I asked my Grandfather if his success at farming was caused by good luck? He smiled at me and said, “If you want to get run over by a truck named Luck you have to walk onto the road or it will miss you every time!”

That of course is true – you make your luck happen.

Dov says there’s one thing you can never get back again and that’s time. Time is the thing a lot of us waste. In my mind anything you do which is not fullfilling you or bringing you closer to your goals is a waste of time. That could be anything – just being stuck in a rut and not believing that there are other opportunities.

All too often I hear people whining about stuff and then when I ask them if it pains them so much why are they doing it, they look at me blankly, like I’m insane. Most people bitch about their jobs and yet they spend most of their waking hours at a job which obviously doesn’t give them a sense of satisfaction. They tell me at least it pays the bills. My God, what a way to live – go to a job to pay your necessary bills and then have no money or time to do things you really like. SAD.

It’s just unfortunate that we’ve been programmed to believe that is the way we’re supposed to be living. To live that way means other’s will always be able to control your destiny. The people that teach us those values are so confined in their own imprisonement that they can’t even imagine other possibilities.

I always encourage my kids to do things they like – I tell them there can be no bigger joy in life than making your play your work. I want them to live full and free lives. Lucky lives.

Dove also talks about making emotional investments – well yes. That’s the difference between people living rich lives and those that are just part of the system. You have to invest your emotions to get where you want.

And lastly even though the Law of Attraction is always working – it’s not always easy. The reason why it’s not always easy is because we have other people telling us not to be ridiculous.

I recall my earliest memories of knowing that my life is a movie. I’m the director, actor and producer. Even if sometimes I have my little procrastination moments.

You can make your luck – infact nobody else is gonna do it for you.

Very simply put:

Money is a reward you receive for the service you render.

The actual ink and paper the money is printed on is worthless.

The piece of paper with the print on it is a perceived value.

It’s the perfect means of exchange.

I for one am glad that we do not operate in a bartering system. I like giving service for money – I don’t want cows or shells.

Of course there are still indegineous people that don’t have a money system. They are all part of the commmnuity and every one does their part to ensure that the community survives. One does the hunting – the others build the shelter, others look after the children etc. Whilst this may seem like a cosy arrangement I wouldn’t enjoy it. I feel as an individual I have a right to live my life doing what I like. (Granted I’ve been born into a modern civilisation and can’t imagine not having that choice, and that my friend is one thing I am very grateful for.)

A lot of people think that money is bad but secretly would like a bit more of the evil stuff.

They will tell you that the bible says money is bad – I’ve read the bible cover to cover and can’t find that any where. It merely says to love God more than anything else so in other words don’t love money more than God.

Money used to be an elusive thing for me before I understood about the Law of Attraction.

I don’t want to go into a whole law of attraction thing now but let’s just say that money is the best coupon to have.

Money = Choice.

Yeah so you can’t buy happiness and love bla bla…

Seriously how nice does it feel when you can’t buy things for those you love, like maybe your children?

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not all into crazy consumerism – my kids don’t have iphones and 75 pairs of jeans and tons of crap.

Firstly because I despise clutter and secondly all that stuff really does not make you happy

But I do have FUN with my kids and that can sometimes cost a bit of money, and those private schools and those trips. You get me?

So whilst money doesn’t buy you a state of being like happiness it does give you access to experiences and stuff.

But aah the initial question how do you get more money?

Okay so this is going to seem cheesy but it works.

Get your whole mind, body and spirit to be one with the idea of having the money you want.

Honestly I mean it – for years I struggled with receiving money because in my subconscious mind I was not clear about what I wanted, let alone be in harmony with what I wanted. Of course I didn’t know that was my problem – I believed it was every body elses fault. Typical victim mentality.

If you are serious about getting a lot of money fast then I highly recommend Stuart Lichtman’s Book: How to Get Lots Of Money for Anything Fast.

Don’t let the title put you off.

There were so many good raves about this book, including people like Jack Canefield – you know the ultra famous dude who put togther Chicken Soup for the Soul.

I thought to myself what with the 60 day money back guarantee I have nothing to loose – I may as well give it my best shot.

Now I’ll be perfectly honest you have to work this book – infact it is like a workbook. You have to go inside yourself, discover what you want, write things down and do the follow up exercises or you will fail and not get what you want. That’s what happened to me the first time round. But if you follow the instruction you’ll get the money you want. As I said before the reason people don’t get what they want is because not all of their mind and body has the same idea. Doing the exercises Stuart gives you in this book will sort that issue out.

If you’re not sure about getting the book which comes with audio instructions as well then first try out the Mini Course for FREE.

Death By Habit

John Carlton had an interesting post on his blog today titled death by habit. It’s true – habits make or break us. Our whole lives consist of habits. You only do what you do because it’s a habit you’ve developed.

There are some obvious things which we all recognise as habits and put them into their classified boxes. Smoking is an example – every body knows it’s a bad habit. Even so many people still puff away. Jogging is considered a good habit.

But if you go deeper you’ll realise that even the way you think is a habit. And as far as I’m concerned that can have horrific effects. Take sleeplessness or anxiety – that stuff begins in the cerebral area and is induced by fear provoking thoughts. Sure you can have a shrink prescribe you feel good pills and heavy valiums but as long as you don’t get those thinking habits solved you’ll become addicted to pills and then you’ve just added another bad habit to the personality.

I’ve been plagued by countless bad habits in my time from smoking to not earning enough money. Whoa! Earning little money is a bad habit? Sure it used to be for me. I just wouldn’t adopt a responsible attitude towards money and over spend – not balance my books etc. Not doing something is the same as having a bad habit.

Watching drivel on the idiot box is also a very bad habit. Just think of all the time that gets wasted and all the stuff that gets impregnated onto the subconscious mind. It’s a fact that we get emotionally involved with the stuff we’re watching and reading. So spending time with crap means you’ll always be resonating on that level and then the law of attraction becomes impossible to work positively for you. (The law of attraction works 24 hours a day whether you believe it or not) Staying tuned in on that level will only bring all that closer to home. That’s why people love watching all those awful reality shows – cause they can relate. Rather they should be watching uplifting programms and taking self development courses and soon they’ll leave all that behind. But yeah having you looser friends leave you can be scary.

I’ve always been looking for ways to improve my life. i just never was satisfied with the status quo. It took a long time and I’m still learning that this is my game – it’s always up to me and not up to them. I think that’s the hardest part – often I want to blame a bad habit on some one else. Like when I used to have money problems it was somebody elses’ fault. When I smoked cigarettes I always had a reason – they stressed me, they do it to or they don’t know how i feel. I honestly believed that cigarettes were helping me. Ask smokers they believe if it weren’t for cigarettes they’d be highly strung, nervous etc. All just an excuse to keep on ruining yourself.

Now I know that absolutely everything in my life is dictated by me and not them. You can say aah but the recession is not my fault. Truth is times have never been better for me. I was having a recession when the economy was thriving. It takes effort to watch every thought you have and to disclipine yourself. But if you honestly and truly love yourself you realize you are worth the effort and nobody else is gonna do it for you.

I’ve tried many programmes and read tons of books to better myself. Some had an effect and others didn’t.

So anyway if you’re stuck with some serious bad habits, including anxiety to sleepness then definately check out Mike Brescia’s site at Breaking Habits Now. At least sign up for the FREE news letter which is an informative read.

A Sioux Indian story…

My grandfather took me to the fish pond on the farm when I was about seven, and he told me to throw a stone into the water. He told me to watch the circles created by the stone. Then he asked me to think of myself as that stone person.

“You may create lots of splashes in your life, but the waves that come from those splashes will disturb the peace of all your fellow creatures,” he said.

“Remember that you are responsible for what you put in your circle, and that circle will also touch many other circles. You will need to live in a way that allows the good that comes from your circle to send the peace of that goodness to others. The splash that comes from anger or jealousy will send those feelings to other circles. You are responsible for both.”

That was the first time I realized each person creates the inner peace or discord that flows out into the world. We cannot create world peace if we are riddled with inner conflict, hatred, doubt, or anger. We radiate the feelings and thoughts that we hold inside, whether we speak them or not. Whatever is splashing around inside of us is spilling out into the world, creating beauty or discord with all other circles of life.

Remember the eternal wisdom: Whatever you focus on expands.

I’ve moved into a new head space .

Years ago when I was feeling as blue as can be – I don’t mean that in a pornagraphic way, I found a website called The Science of Getting Rich Networks. This was a couple of weeks before The Secret surfaced and took over the Law of Attraction scenario.

At that stage of my life things were looking pretty rough for me. I had moved to another country. (Yip I now know for sure that you take yourself with you.) I had no contacts and found myself in a deep hole. I was in a constant state of lack, in other words, not having enough of anything. (Or so I thought.)

I downloaded The Science of Getting Rich and promptly left it to gather cyberdust on my computer. Ever done that?

Anyways after falling even deeper into my hole I remembered that book. I blew off the cyberdust and began to read.

I was overwhelmed with relief when I read those Scienceog Getting Rich words. This wasn’t about SEO, Blogging, Adsense, Internet Marketing, MLM or anything like that. It was all about attaining a prosperous mindset. It was good but it wasn’t so easy to implement- I mean years of doing what I’d been doing made it down right hard to believe that I can become a genuise or rich.

But wait a minute – my beady eye spotted The Practical Genuises Course at a price which was so affordable I couldn’t resist. And by affordable I mean choosing what you want to pay! Where in the world do you get such an offer? At auctions? Nah, somebody can outbid you and then you ain’t got the goods.

The Practiacl Genuises Course opened my mind to a whole lot of new possibilities. And my life has changed some. New opportunities surfaced for which I’ll admit the internet has been largely responsible.

In the practical geniuses course you get a whole lot of interesting scripts and life labs. Life lab being an apt name.

The thing is that these life labs are life changing – you realise that there is another way of viewing the world.

With this new vision and new thinking comes success.

Why not try it out for yourself?

Go to the The Science of Getting Rich Networks, receive your free book and enroll for the Course.

It’s worth every penny and then some!

Having a dream, in my not so humble opinion is necessary. For if we don’t have a dream then we have got nothing.

Since childhood I felt like I was in a dream. This obviously caused me some problems, especially in school.

I just couldn’t take the whole concept of life so seriously. I thought I was here to have fun and not be reprimanded about facing up to reality. Why were grown ups always so serious? What was wrong with my reality anyway?

So it’s no wonder we have difficulty keeping up with the Jones’s when in our hearts it’s not even what we are yearning for. Seriously I’ve never yearned to have my bank manager’s job. Luckily I’ve never been bothered by the Jones’s, but this doesn’t mean I haven’t had my share of envy, jealousy and general bad vibes which is another chapter. As much as I like my bank manager – she’s a friendly person and always has a smile for me – I know I would hate sitting in that office all day in that uncomfortable designer wear and those heels. I just love my flip flops and cotton wraps even though I can afford larney shoes and gear. It’s just not me.

Ever since I can remember it was my dream to be free of trapments (well that’s what they are for me). I never saw myself slogging in a office or doing some job to for a living. I’ll admit it caused me difficulty at times. Many times I’ve been without funds because I wouldn’t “work”. I was reprimanded by my parents for not having something safe and secure. I ask you what is safety and security? Going off to prison so you can earn a living? No thanks.

Contrary to what other parents did – opt in to the “secure world” I became even more determined to live my dream when my twin girls were born. The minute I held those babes in my single mom ’s arms I knew that I had to be an example. And that example was not one of giving in to a system which tells you to “get real and get a job.” Besides I wanted to spend time with them and not give them to people whose beliefs collided with mine.

In a nutshell:

Be true to yourself.

Acknowledge the things that turn you on (if they’re bloody and dirty, go get help).

Make clear pictures in your mind with you playing the lead role.

Watch what you eat – huh?
Seriously food affects our body like nothing else, including emotions, feelings, blood cells and of course health. The purer your body the clearer your dream becomes. No joke. That clarity enables you to see what path you have to take to get to your dream.

Get a coach – no I don’t mean take the bus – I mean a real coach, somebody to help you focus. Start off with somebody like Rebecca Fine from the Science of Getting Rich Networks who offers a great course called The Practical Genuises Course. It comes with step by step instructions and you choose what to pay.

Say to yourself I am living my dream – even if you think it’s stupid. Wouldn’t you regret it, if saying something to yourself prevented you from living your dream?

Take action in the direction of your dream – no use just dreaming about it- after all you want to start living your dream, so action is of utmost importance. The action part tells the dream that you’re ready for it.

Wasting time kills dreams – each second spent constructively gets you closer to your dream.

Keep on keeping on.

Thanks for reading and hey, feedback and questions are much appreciated.

In the late 1800s, an Italian sociologist and engineer, Vilfredo Pareto, became known for his controversial theory that alleged the superiority of the “elite” class. That unfortunate (and now discredited) theory was used to shore up the ideology of fascism which brought misery to millions.

But he was also known for applying mathematical principles in the realms of sociology and economics, and while his now-refuted “law” of the “trivial many” and the “significant few” holds no meaning for us in terms of the value of human beings, at least one of Pareto’s ideas does still hold water in other areas.

You may know “The Pareto Principle” by its more familiar name, “the 80/20 Rule.”

Simply put, the 80/20 Rule — as we use it today — says that 80% of your return will come from 20% of your effort. For example, in business this can mean that 80% of your income derives from 20% of your customer base. Or that 80% of your revenue can be traced to just 20% of your sales force.

Think about all the ways the 80/20 Rule applies: About 80% of all small businesses fail within their first couple of years, so you could say that 80% of all small business SUCCESS comes from 20% of all new small businesses. (And the subject of WHY so many fail is something we’ll cover in the near future. My view is that most fail before they even begin, lacking knowledge and understanding of the principles we’ve discovered in The Science of Getting Rich.)

How about in your own job or business — or in other areas of your life? Can you see that 80% of the results come from 20% of your input? I don’t know if Wallace Wattles (the author of the amazing forgotten 1910 classic, The Science of Getting Rich) had ever heard of Pareto, but let’s take a look at how the 80/20 Rule might be useful in implementing Mr. Wattles’ notion of “Efficient Action.” First, though, some more fascinating 80/20 facts.

Back in the 1960s, thousands of insurance salespeople for Metropolitan Life, a big company here in the U.S., took part in a study that demonstrated this rule. The study found that, yes, 20% of the agents produced 80% of all sales.

But they took the study a step further and scrutinized that top 20%. And guess what? The rule held there, too. In fact, the top 20% of THAT top 20% of all salespeople were making 32 times as much as the average of the sales reps in the bottom 80%!

And what do you think they found out about the top 20% of that group making 32 times the average?

The people in THAT top 20% were making 54 times more than the people in the bottom 80%!

What was it that made the difference? It wasn’t that this cream of the crop was 54 times smarter or worked that much harder. And they obviously didn’t have 54 times as much education or experience.

What made the difference was that the people reaping the biggest rewards had learned to pay attention and keep track of WHAT WORKED and made them effective — and what didn’t. They made it a point to do more of the effective things and get rid of the time-, energy-, and resource-wasters.

They were spending 80% of their time on the 20% of their work that produced the biggest results!

Most of them had probably never heard of Mr. Wattles or his work, but they were, nonetheless, practicing Efficient Action regularly. Daily. All the time.

Here’s the thing: If you’d prefer to find yourself in the top 20% (and, yes, you can do that without sinking into competitive mind), take a good, close look at how you spend your time and energy. Without a doubt you’ll find that the most productive, effective, profitable activities ARE probably getting only about 20% of your attention. Which means that you’re spending 80% of your resources on the things that are unproductive, ineffective, and unprofitable.

And by “time” I mean not only the time you spend actually working at your income-producing activities but the time you spend on thinking and acting in the certain way: holding to your clear vision with faith, purpose, and gratitude. Let’s take a quick look at just a couple of the high points in “Efficient Action” — Chapter 12 in The Science of Getting Rich — and see where we stack up.

Are you “more than filling” your present place — or are you doing only enough to get by? It’s been said that many bosses pay their employees just enough to keep them from quitting and that many employees work just enough to keep from getting fired. If you find yourself in either of those positions, you are NOT ready to rise to a higher level of reward.”Giving more in use value than you take from others in cash value” applies to employees selling their services to their companies as well as to those selling goods or services to customers.

Are you making the mistake of trying to do too much? These days, being way too busy is almost a badge of honor, but Mr. Wattles warns: “You are not to overwork or to rush blindly into your business in the effort to do the greatest possible number of things in the shortest possible time. … The more things you do, the worse for you, if all your acts are inefficient ones.”

Are you plagued by the dream-killer, procrastination? “If there is something that may be done today and you do not do it, you have failed insofar as that thing is concerned. And the consequences may be more disastrous than you imagine.”

Are you neglecting things that may SEEM small and unimportant? “You cannot foresee the results of even the most trivial act. … Your neglect or failure to do some small thing may cause a long delay in getting you what you want.”

Are your actions strong or weak? Mr. Wattles notes that “when every one is strong, you are acting in the certain way which will make you rich. Every act can be made strong and efficient by holding your vision while you are doing it and by putting the whole power of your faith and purpose into it.”

Over the next 24 hours, why not make it a point to pay attention to where your time goes … how you spend your energy … where you focus your thinking, feelings, and action … and how you notice and respond to the opportunities presented? Make notes throughout the day, keep track, and at the end of the day, see for yourself just how true the 80/20 Rule is — at work, at home, everywhere.

Now, my friend, here’s to your “Totally TOP Twenty Percent” day today and LOTS more of them to come!
