Jason met the Jones family recently at the Crescent Beach in South Surrey recently for some casual family portraits. The light was beautiful and they were dressed wonderfully to compliment each other and the surroundings. I like how you can catch a glimpse of each boy’s personality in their photographs. Matthew Macleod Froese
October 11, 2000 – August 14, 2010

We look forward to seeing Matthew run and hear him tell his family how much he loves them one day in heaven. He is Darcie’s cousin’s oldest child and we have photographed him several times. We would capture the best expressions from him when he was surrounded by his parents and children.

He touched many lives and has inspired Matthew’s House, a respite home in Abbotsford for children with severe disabilities. His memorial service is at 2:00 on Friday, August 20th at Central Heights Church in Abbotsford.

As we move from one photography project to another, we are usually the most excited about ones that are upcoming or ones we are currently working on. One that still stands out in our mind from last year is a stock image we created for Van Belle Nursery that has become one their main branding image.

So when they called us up again this year with some new image needs, we were excited to work with them again. We love seeing our portrait photography displayed in homes and our commercial images used in marketing materials. They look so much better out in the open than hidden on our multitude of hard drives (random fact: we have 13 Tera-bytes of hard drives). We recently printed a set of 72 inch and 24 inch gallery wrap canvases for a client of Vancouver taken from a boat during her son’s wedding.

The Goddess Movement keeps adding great new classes to their repertoire. Some of the latest are their Aerial Hoop classes. I tried a class earlier in the summer and thoroughly enjoyed it despite my tendency to shy away from any activities that involve being more than 2 feet off the ground. The instructor, Lyndsey, has been studyied Aerial Hoop in Vancouver and has put together a great program. We recently went there to create some photographs with impact for the studio to use with their marketing materials. Here are a few favorites …

Sometimes I feel like half of my blog posts use all the old lines that used to make me feel like rolling my eyes when I was a kid. Two of those that I just have to use again for Kyrah are “she’s so cute” and “she’s growing up so quickly”. Now that I’ve got that out of my system I guess that officially makes me one of Those Adults now.

We think it’s a great tradition that Kyrah gets to come for her very, own portrait session every year and then has her updated portraits displayed in her home until her next birthday session.
