As the new face of Moana, Catherine Laga’aia continues to find the sweet spot between honouring the film and expressing her own style.

Wearing a LoveShackFancy Vessia embroidered top with the coordinating Celesa embroidered mesh tiered maxi skirt, she looked as though she had stepped straight from a tropical island. The airy layers, delicate embroidery and soft ivory palette captured the spirit of Moana in a way that felt authentic rather than thematic.

Around her neck, Catherine wore a floral lei, a traditional Polynesian garland presented as a gesture of welcome, affection and celebration. More than simply a colourful accessory, it reinforced the cultural heritage at the heart of the film and made the moment feel even more meaningful.

Blooming Beautifully

Having voiced Moana since the original animated film, Auli’i Cravalho’s connection to the franchise remains as genuine as ever.

Her PatBO Spring 2025 bubble-hem dress brought a fresh, playful energy to the event, with the sculptural silhouette balancing the soft floral print beautifully. Jimmy Choo sandals completed the look.

Auli’i also wore a pink floral lei, which echoed the flowers woven throughout her dress. The coordination wasn’t overdone; instead, it created a seamless link between her fashion choices and the celebration of Polynesian culture.

Island Ease

Dwayne Johnson stayed true to his relaxed tailoring formula in a sand-coloured Dzojchen look that felt perfectly suited to the occasion. The open-neck shirt, easy silhouette and neutral palette reflected the laid-back mood while allowing his accessories to do the talking.

Layered over his outfit was a vibrant lei poʻo ʻole, a traditional Hawaiian-style floral garland worn around the neck as a symbol of welcome, respect and celebration. Alongside his Chopard timepiece, it was the piece that gave the look its strongest connection to the cultural themes surrounding Moana.

We always expect Chloë to step out in something that reflects her offbeat sense of style, so at first glance, this pink-and-white skirt suit might seem surprisingly conventional.

But a closer look at her Vivienne Westwood ensemble reveals that it is anything but ordinary.

The house has always challenged traditional tailoring, and that spirit is evident in the Drunken jacket, styled over the Spiral bustier dress. Its deliberately misaligned buttons and skewed construction trace back to Vivienne Westwood’s Autumn/Winter 1983–84 Witches collection, where off-centre tailoring became one of the designer’s defining signatures. The asymmetric cut and intentionally distorted proportions give an otherwise classic skirt suit the unmistakable Westwood twist.

I love how Chloë balanced the quiet rebellion with styling that felt decidedly ladylike witj the trending white pumps and Self-Portrait Bow bag.

After borrowing Reese Witherspoon’s 2014 Met Gala look for the premiere, the actress stepped out in a Leo Lin Roselle strapless mini dress that was entirely her own.

And yes, once again, it was pink.

I know some of you are looking at the bows in her hair and thinking they’re overkill, especially when the dress is already accented with bows. But, as we’ve seen throughout this press tour, Lexi isn’t afraid to lean into the sugary world of Elle Woods. That has been the premise of this entire tour, and once again, I’m fully on board with the playfulness of it.

Much like you can’t sell a Barbie press tour without pink, or a Challengers press tour without at least a few tennis-inspired white dresses, you can’t sell Elle Woods without pink. Lexi and her stylist have understood that from the outset, making the colour the defining thread running through every appearance.

Inspired by understated luxury, the hairstyle featured clean lines, mirror-like shine and a polished finish that allowed the gown’s silhouette and jewellery to take centre stage.

“The inspiration was modern elegance with quiet confidence,” Ashanti explained. “Her gown already made a bold statement, so I wanted the hair to bring balance through clean lines, immaculate shine and timeless sophistication. The sleek, sculpted bun allowed every detail, from the silhouette to the jewellery, to shine.”

As with every sleek style, preparation began with healthy hair. Ashanti prepped Latto’s hair using the tgin Balance Collection, starting with the Balance Serum and Scalp Exfoliator before cleansing with the Balance Collection Scalp Clarifying Shampoo. She followed with the Quench 3-N-1 Co-Conditioner and Detangler to restore moisture and improve manageability before applying the Miracle Styling 3-N-1 Heat Protectant Spray ahead of the blow-dry.

Once the hair was smooth and dry, Ashanti used the Miracle Styling Water Activated Curling Gel to create the sleek foundation before securing the bun. The Miracle Styling Smooth & Sleek Wax Stick refined the hairline and controlled flyaways, while a few drops of Miracle Styling Ayurvedic Hair & Scalp Oil delivered the glossy finish. A final mist of the Miracle Styling 3-N-1 Heat Protectant Spray completed the look with lightweight shine.

The finished style demonstrated that a sleek bun can be just as impactful as an elaborate updo, especially when healthy, well-prepared hair becomes part of the overall statement.

Wearing an Antonio Marras Spring 2026 floral bustier midi dress, Sophia looked like summer personified. In fact, the zesty lime-green hue and blooming floral print couldn’t have been a better match for a film titled Summer’s Last Resort. It was bright, joyful and exactly the kind of look you hope to see at a summer premiere.

What really sold me, though, was the off-the-shoulder construction. The wrapped neckline, with one side sitting slightly higher than the other, gave the dress an artful feel that set it apart from anything we have seen on the red carpet this week.

Then came the finishing touch.

Instead of following the runway styling, Sophia opted for powder-blue pumps. That unexpected splash of colour added a fresh contrast that made the lime-green dress feel even more vibrant.

Hosted by Zoe Saldana, the intimate lunch brought together Nicola Coughlan, Haley Bennett, Marisa Abela and Hayley Atwell, each offering a different take on daytime dressing. The recurring theme? A commitment to black shoes.

Bubble-Hem Beauty

Nicola Coughlan wore a Simkhai Effie bubble-hem mini that felt like a fresh, youthful take on the classic shirt dress, but the shoes killed it for me. A white dress this crisp was crying out for lighter footwear.

Quiet Confidence

As the host, you might have expected Zoe Saldana to make the boldest statement, but she stayed true to her signature understated style in a charcoal-grey McQueen speckled pinstripe dress styled with Jimmy Choo Jenn sandals.

Less Is More

Haley Bennett embraced simplicity in a navy Reformation Franceska satin mini dress. The clean lines created the perfect blank canvas to have a little fun with the accessories, which is why the black pumps felt like such a missed opportunity.

Seeing Red

Marisa Abela, who rarely ventures into bold colour, surprised me in Tove’s striking red Beth maxi dress. The sculptural draping through the skirt gave the design beautiful shape, making the vibrant shade even more striking. Jimmy Choo Metz sandals completed her look.

Beyond The Blooms

When you think of Erdem, floral prints usually come to mind, but Hayley Atwell opted for one of the label’s doodle-style illustrated prints instead. It was a refreshing change of pace, and I liked that she let the dress speak for itself without overcomplicating the styling with just Jimmy Choo Brigitte mules.

Lancôme gathering or black-shoes convention? You decide.

Or did she?

Reese may not have been by her side, but her fashion legacy certainly was. Lexi wore the same bubblegum-pink Stella McCartney gown that Reese famously wore to the 2014 Met Gala, making this another thoughtful nod to the woman who first brought Elle Woods to life.

The colour alone instantly reinforces the connection, but it is the sculpted sweetheart neckline and elegant column silhouette that make the reference feel complete. Throughout this press tour, Reese has spoken about “passing the pink torch,” and Lexi has carried that baton with remarkable consistency.

Some may question the fit through the bodice, but it’s worth remembering that Stella McCartney originally created this gown as a custom piece for Reese, not for Lexi. Expecting it to fit a different wearer in exactly the same way would be unrealistic. I also imagine the gown was again borrowed directly from Reese, rather than recreated, so making any minor alterations was probably never an option.

Lexi resisted the temptation to recreate Reese’s look exactly. Instead, she made the moment her own with a soft, romantic updo of loose curls, delicate diamond jewellery and fresh pink-toned makeup, giving the archival look a youthful finish.

Day Two

Nicky Hilton was giving us garden-party vibes in a summery Monse striped dress, complete with the label’s signature asymmetrical detailing. She styled the look with a Hermès Bleu Jean Epsom Kelly 28 Sellier bag. Perhaps it’s the Zendaya influence, but I couldn’t help wondering if white pumps might have been the better choice here.

Misse Beqiri wore a bouclé button-front dress from the Odd Muse Courtside Chic collection. I love the juxtaposition between the ladylike dress and the contemporary thong leather sandals.

Emma Thynn, Marchioness of Bath, may have a wardrobe full of couture gowns, but on this occasion she opted for a Self-Portrait off-the-shoulder belted maxi dress, showcasing the label’s signature illusion of separates. I loved everything about this look except the basket bag, which felt a little too beachside casual.

Jameela Jamil switched things up with her second polka-dot look of the tournament, wearing the Corynn dress from Reformation staying true to her love of statement prints.

Day One

Maura Higgins wore a 2006 Chanel archive dress by Karl Lagerfeld, seemingly taking inspiration from Zendaya’s Challengers press tour by styling the look with Flor de Maria Jaimie slingback pumps featuring tennis balls in the heels, plus a Chanel tennis-ball bag. It was a playful Wimbledon-themed styling moment, but some might say the accessories were gimmicky.

Wimbledon Whites

Like Maura Higgins, Isla Fisher embraced the Wimbledon whites dress code, wearing a ME+EM fit-and-flare dress and opting out of the gimmicky accessories in favour of ME+EM High Front Clogs and a complementary white clutch.

AJ Odudu kept things sleek in an AYM Studios buttery-yellow dress that was perfectly suited to the occasion and the weather.

Pixie Lott, who usually gravitates towards Dolce & Gabbana, surprised me by opting for a soft pink suit from Violante Nessi.

Katherine Jenkins looked elegant in an Edeline Lee dress, striking the refined balance that Wimbledon dressing often calls for.

I wasn’t sold on Romeo Beckham’s double-breasted brown suit layered over a simple white crew-neck T-shirt. His girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, looked effortlessly chic in a white draped dress from Victoria Beckham, of course, styled with a yellow Longchamp bag and Dune heels.

I imagine David Beckham would rather be in the United States supporting England at the World Cup, but not even football was going to interrupt his annual Wimbledon tradition of attending with his mum, Sandra Beckham.

Jameela Jamil arrived in a striking Queens of Archive polka-dot dress, styled with retro-inspired white sunglasses and matching white pumps. It was one of the standout fashion moments from the opening day.

Well, I got my answer today.

The mum-to-be was spotted arriving at the Four Seasons Hotel in New York to kick off press for The Odyssey, wearing an Ashlyn Spring 2026 jumpsuit that couldn’t have been a more perfect choice.

One thing we learned from The Devil Wears Prada 2 press tour is that Anne looks incredible in red, and this rich crimson shade only reinforces that. But what really makes this look stand out is the construction. Looking at the jumpsuit, you can’t help but think it was made with maternity dressing in mind. The curved seam and softly draped peplum frame her bump beautifully, creating a silhouette that feels highly considered.

I do find myself wondering if Anne is wearing the jumpsuit back to front. The runway version featured a higher bateau neckline at the front, whereas Anne’s look has a lower scoop neck, which makes me think she may have reversed it to create a more flattering neckline. If that’s the case, it’s a clever styling tweak.

It’s an elegant reminder that maternity fashion doesn’t have to rely on oversized shapes or compromise on design.

Gold Bvlgari jewellery, a matching red Alaïa Cœur heart-shaped bag and Aquazzura Bellini Beauty sandals completed her first official press-tour look, and if this is a sign of what’s to come, we’re in for a stylish few months.

As much as I’ve been talking non-stop about summer dressing and the current heatwave, I have to admit I swooned when I saw how elegant Sandra looked in this Chanel Resort 2027 trouser suit.

The last time we saw the Chanel ambassador in the spotlight, she was navigating multiple plaid prints at Cannes. This couldn’t have been more different. Clean lines, impeccable tailoring and a restrained palette allowed the craftsmanship to do all the talking, and it felt entirely in keeping with Sandra’s understated approach to dressing.

I adore the statement earrings, although I suspect they might be a dealbreaker for some. They’re so oversized they look like they should come with their own postcode, yet they work for me.

From the sharp tailoring to those conversation-starting earrings, I love this look in its entirety.

The actress is no stranger to fashion archives, and this latest outing was another reminder of why she keeps returning to them.

I love that she chose a Roberto Cavalli archive floral-print top, worn as a mini dress, embracing the label’s unmistakable love of saturated colour and statement-making prints.

While so many celebrities are favouring quieter looks, Cavalli’s maximalist spirit feels perfectly suited to Millie’s style personality.

The swirling pink, purple and orange print gave the look plenty of personality. It’s bold, unapologetic and exactly what you expect from vintage Cavalli—or Cavalli in 2026, to be honest.

Millie kept the styling light with a half-up, half-down hairstyle, while Aquazzura Tequila sandals added just the right amount of sparkle.

So, it took four days for someone to bring a proper dose of summer style to this festival?

Wearing a Prada butter-yellow dress, Lyna delivered exactly the kind of effortless elegance I want to see at a seaside film festival. The soft colour, lightweight fabrication and easy silhouette all felt perfectly suited to Biarritz.

I’m not going to dismiss the black clutch outright, because she clearly considered the black trim at the neckline and the tiny bow. But once the red patent pumps entered the equation, the accessories started pulling in different directions.

For me, the shoes are the weakest link. I appreciate that she resisted the obvious choice of black pumps, but I don’t think the red quite earns its place here. A black pair of sandals would have tied everything together.

I can’t believe I’m advocating for black shoes, but as it stands, the accessories end up competing instead of complementing one another.

One thing I appreciate about Ayo’s Chanel contract is that she isn’t restricted to wearing the brand exclusively. As much as I’ve enjoyed her recent Chanel appearances, I always like it when she introduces me to designers who weren’t already on my radar. In this case, that designer is Edward Cuming.

Best known for his menswear, Cuming was a finalist for the 2025 LVMH Prize with a collection that blurred traditional gender boundaries. His womenswear has developed naturally from that same design language, making Ayo an ideal fit for the label.

Everything about this olive knit top and fringed skirt sits comfortably within the actress’s style vocabulary, and I think she made the right call by skipping the glossy pink capri trousers from the runway.

The look feels fresher without them, reminding us that sometimes the best styling decision is knowing what to leave out.

I know some of you have reached your limit with white pumps, thanks to Zendaya, but I actually like how they lighten the look, and they are preferable over black.

I don’t think anyone has managed to sell these Saint Laurent Spring 2026 ruffled gowns to you. Not Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, not Zoe Kravitz, and, honestly, I don’t hold out much hope that Lauryn Hill will change your mind either.

Surprisingly, I like the colour. I don’t think I would have said that based on the runway look, but it translated much better on stage, no doubt thanks to the lighting.

I also appreciated the styling. The belt helped rein in some of the overwhelming volume, while the statement jewellery and wraparound sunglasses made the look feel distinctly hers.

Even with those changes, though, I still think these gowns are an incredibly hard sell. If I had to rank the three outings, Lauryn’s would come out on top, but I’m still not convinced this design is destined to become a red carpet success.

After dividing opinion with her brown Germanier Roland Garros arrival look, the four-time Grand Slam champion embraced the All England Club’s strict all-white dress code in the most thoughtful way possible.

Partnering with Tokyo-based designer Hana Yagi, Naomi arrived for her opening-round match wearing an all-white look inspired by the traditional Japanese kimono. Titled Evolving Ceremony, the design was created using materials upcycled from vintage kimonos, a traditional shiromuku wedding dress and a deconstructed wedding gown.

Her sleek bun was adorned with cascading white floral hair ornaments inspired by traditional Japanese kanzashi, reinforcing the ceremonial feel of the look.

I particularly love that she found a way to honour her Japanese heritage while working entirely within Wimbledon’s famously strict rules. Rather than treating the dress code as a limitation, she transformed it into a celebration of Japanese craftsmanship and tradition.

It’s this level of thoughtfulness that has made her tournament arrivals events in themselves. Long before the first serve, Naomi gives us something worth talking about.

She then backed up the fashion moment with a 6-1, 7-5 victory over France’s Elsa Jacquemot in the opening round.

New Hair, New Attitude

Chloe Bailey was almost unrecognisable thanks to her platinum-blonde bob. Her Valdrin Sahiti Fall 2025 gown, with its sculpted crystal bodice and black velvet panels, created a striking hourglass effect, but the hair and makeup felt disconnected from the glamour of the dress.

Sheer Beyond Belief

Coco Jones wore Basil Soda Spring 2026, and considering just how sheer the skirt was, that hand placement was absolutely necessary. The vibrant red colour looked stunning on her, but I really wish whoever styles Coco would do better by her.

She is so beautiful, yet she continues to be dressed in looks that feel far less luxurious than she deserves.

Lime In The Spotlight

Eva Marcille ensured all eyes were on her in a lime-green Muehleder dress. If I was ever going to co-sign a summer knit, this would be it. Between the colour, the draping and the exaggerated knot, this was one of the night’s boldest looks.

Rock-Star Energy

Flo Milli brought plenty of attitude in Do Long. The mullet, oversized choker and dramatic tulle gave this look an unexpected rock edge while still feeling true to her rap persona. It was fearless, theatrical and exactly the sort of fashion risk I’d like to see more artists take. The ankle cuffs may divide opinion, but the overall styling felt authentic.

Moody Glamour

Kehlani wore Chats by C.Dam, and everything about this look felt unmistakably her. From the sculptural silhouette to the statement jewellery, it captured the dark, alternative direction she has made her signature.

Classic Gucci

Keke Palmer wore Gucci Pre-Fall 2026. Even with the crystal embellishment, the one-shoulder gown felt surprisingly understated by her standards, allowing her natural charisma to take centre stage. Which it did. The only thing missing here were sandals.

Golden Glow

Kelly Rowland shimmered in a gold Valdrin Sahiti gown. The silhouette was simple, but the liquid-metallic finish and plunging draped neckline ensured she made an impact.

A Surprising Turn

We’re so used to seeing Madisin Rian in elegant Armani Privé gowns that this Le Thanh Hoa Fall 2025 creation came as quite a surprise.

It certainly won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but I loved the explosion of colourful feathers contrasted against the dramatic white train. It was fun seeing her head in a completely different direction.

Soft Goth

Marsai Martin wore Salih Balta Fall 2026, proving once again that she isn’t afraid to experiment. This look balanced toughness with delicacy in a way that felt refreshingly unexpected for her.

Groundhog Day

I was really into Olandria Carthen’s style when she first came out of the Love Island villa, but this custom Theo Philio gown feels like another step backwards. The colour is stunning, but that illusion bodysuit panel is horrendous, and her makeup artist went a little heavy-handed with the bronzer along her cleavage.

Familiar Illusion

Serena Page’s Rahul Mishra Fall 2024 gown immediately reminded me of Chase Infiniti’s and Teyana Taylor’s body-mapped illusion Thom Browne looks. It created a similar visual effect while still standing firmly on its own.

Tailored With Fringe

Skai Jackson gave sharp tailoring a fresh spin in Do Long. The dramatic fringe transformed what could have been a straightforward look into one of her strongest fashion moments to date.

White Out

Tems has made white gowns her unofficial red-carpet uniform, so seeing her step out in this chocolate-brown Luis De Javier design immediately caught my attention.

The silhouette still felt unmistakably Tems, but the rich colour and feathered hem gave her signature a fresh update. Brown continues to be the colour of the moment, and this was one of the night’s strongest examples. L’aile earrings by Kaimanna by Samara completed her look.

Golden Moment

Tia Mowry wore a Nadine Merabi gold embellished mini dress. It felt fun, confident and full of personality, which is exactly how I like to see her dress. This was full of charm.

As expected from an event sponsored by Chanel, the closing ceremony became another showcase for the house, with jury president Kristen Stewart joined by Whitney Peak and Chiara Mastroianni.

Bra, Tweed, Stewart

Kristen Stewart wore a Chanel Resort 2027 navy-and-cream tweed jacket and matching skirt.

Would it really be a Kristen Stewart Chanel appearance if she didn’t make it feel a little undone? Of course, the jacket was worn open to reveal a Chanel bra, injecting her signature irreverence into one of the house’s most classic fabrics.

The loafers only reinforced that relaxed attitude. I know they won’t be to everyone’s taste, but they made far more sense than a pair of heels would have here. Kristen has never been interested in looking overly polished, and this look stayed true to that philosophy.

Still Not Sold

Whitney Peak wore a Chanel Fall 2026 look with a sleeveless cashmere knit over a pale-blue top which felt completely at odds with a summer festival in Biarritz.

I loved her opening ceremony look, but these drop-waist silhouettes from Chanel’s Fall 2026 collection still aren’t winning me over. Chanel Fine Jewelry completed the look.

Simplicity Wins

Chiara Mastroianni wore a Chanel Pre-Fall 2026 black knitted ensemble styled with Chanel Fine Jewelry. Sometimes the simplest look is the one that resonates most.

While Kristen experimented and Whitney layered up, Chiara embraced quiet confidence in a fluid black knitted look that felt entirely effortless. The oversized clutch and sunglasses kept the styling understated.

The rapper gave us two strikingly different fashion moments across the evening, but both reflected the style direction she’s been refining in recent months. Since the Grammys, the Daily Front Row Fashion Awards and the Met Gala, Doechii has been embracing what I can only describe as a modern earth goddess aesthetic. Crochet, artisanal craftsmanship, organic textures and archival fashion have replaced the more overtly character-driven looks that first put her style on the map.

She arrived wearing a vintage Dsquared2 Spring 2006 crocheted dress that looked as though it had been woven by hand. It’s exactly the sort of archival pull that suits Doechii because it reflects the eclectic, slightly bohemian direction her wardrobe has been taking, where texture matters just as much as silhouette.

The dramatic open back, which dipped low enough to reveal a hint of butt cleavage, ensured the dress would not be forgotten.

Later, as she collected her award, she changed into a Roberto Cavalli Fall 2026 gown that carried the same spirit in a more refined way. The sheer construction and distressed floral appliqué felt darkly romantic without losing the edge that has become synonymous with her recent style evolution.

The dresses may have been created 20 years apart, but they belonged to the same conversation. Both embraced craftsmanship, texture and an earthy sensuality that has become central to Doechii’s current style.

Most of you weren’t convinced by those earlier looks, but this feels like a much more cohesive fashion chapter for the singer.

The British actress wore a Roberto Cavalli Pre-Fall 2026 butterfly-motif dress.

Even though this is a Pre-Fall collection, the dress has a distinctly retro ’70s spirit, and much of that comes down to the warm, earthy colour palette. It feels like something you could easily imagine during the Studio 54 era, which is exactly the kind of nostalgic glamour Roberto Cavalli does so well.

That mood would have been amplified even further had Jodie worn the printed headscarf from the look book. Instead, she made the look her own by skipping the scarf and replacing the striped arm warmers with sheer black gloves trimmed with electric-blue edges. I’m sure some would argue that the look didn’t need that extra detail, but I remember a time when Jodie was known for over-accessorising, so this feels relatively tame.

Besides, knowing which elements to keep and which to change is what makes a look feel personal, and Jodie struck that balance perfectly here.

The singer-actress, who took part in the tribute performance honouring Lauryn Hill, wore a Kilian Kerner Fall 2026 look.

I’m not entirely sure what the weather was doing in Los Angeles on Sunday. I once visited LA in June and was introduced to the phenomenon known as “June Gloom,” when cooler temperatures and overcast skies briefly replace the expected sunshine. Perhaps Queen Latifah dressed accordingly.

Or perhaps she was simply here for the drama.

I’m going with the latter.

This oversized cocoon jacket is one of those runway pieces that could easily overwhelm the wearer, but Queen Latifah carried it with complete confidence. The exaggerated proportions, rich texture and sculptural volume gave the look a commanding presence while still allowing her to shine through.

The sleek black gown underneath was exactly the right choice. Anything more elaborate would have competed with the jacket, whereas this created a clean foundation that allowed the outerwear to take centre stage. When I say I want to see celebrities dressing for the summer season, this is exactly what I mean.

I genuinely felt my heart skip a beat when I saw Fan Bingbing in this Tony Ward Spring 2026 Couture gown.

The gown strikes that sweet spot between couture craftsmanship and effortless elegance. It has all the intricacy and artistry you expect from Tony Ward, yet it never feels weighed down by the embellishments. Instead, it captures the lightness and optimism of summer while still delivering the kind of impact worthy of a grand entrance.

The styling was equally considered. Her sleek sculpted bob introduced a refined vintage note that complemented the softness of the gown, while the diamond earrings, bracelet and delicate hair ornament added just enough sparkle without competing for attention. Every element worked together to create a beautifully balanced look.

This is exactly why Fan Bingbing will always be my red-carpet glamour queen. Few can wear couture with this level of ease while making it feel so fresh, seasonal and utterly captivating.

The singer’s days of quirky red-carpet fashion are well behind her. Remember the Moschino Hershey’s chocolate-wrapper dress at the 2020 Brit Awards? Or the cocoon-like Dolce & Gabbana opera coat she wore to the 2023 Grammy Awards? Those playful, conversation-starting looks have given way to something less gimmicky.

Sultry glamour was the brief this time.

Lizzo wore a bronzed shimmering Christian Cowan gown inspired by the designer’s Spring 2026 collection, embracing the fluid draping and body-skimming silhouette that has become one of the collection’s signatures.

If you’re experiencing a mild case of déjà vu, that’s because Sydney Sweeney wore this design to Variety’s 2025 Power of Women event.

That outing immediately went viral, largely because the styling created the illusion of a wet T-shirt. It was clearly designed to provoke conversation. Lizzo could easily have followed the same blueprint, especially with a new album to promote, but she wisely resisted.

By opting for tonal underpinnings and letting the bronze shimmer do the work, the focus shifted back to the craftsmanship of the gown. The draping and sculptural lines became the talking points instead of her nipples.

It’s a reminder that the same dress can tell two completely different stories.

For the red carpet, she wore a Stéphane Rolland Spring 2026 Haute Couture gown.

After months of promoting One Battle After Another and one memorable fashion moment after another throughout awards season, you might have expected Teyana to ease up. Instead, she seems to have found another gear. She continues to raise the bar, refusing to settle into a predictable rhythm.

This Stéphane Rolland creation demanded confidence, and Teyana met it at every turn. The look had an almost Victorian presence, reimagined through Rolland’s couture lens. I’m especially glad she kept the headpiece, because it completed that mood. Without it, the look would have felt noticeably less convincing.

In the press room, the silhouette softened, but the impact remained just as strong.

Her cobalt-blue Tom Ford Resort 2026 pleated halter gown offered a completely different mood while maintaining the same level of presence. Where the couture look was unapologetically dramatic, this gown relied the saturated colour to make its statement.

Two different designers. Two different moods. One reminder that Teyana Taylor continues to be that girl.

Two-For-One

Whoever styled Connor Storrie has an evil sense of humour.

Sending the Heated Rivalry star out in this Saint Laurent sheer, glossy PVC trench coat while he had a weather-appropriate vest-and-shorts look underneath was just cruel. The reveal at least made sense once the coat came off, but I still can’t imagine how uncomfortable arriving in this coat must have felt.

As for the footwear, those knee-high leather boots were certainly a choice. They completed the Saint Laurent vision, but I wouldn’t have wanted to be wearing them in that heat.

A Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph timepiece completed his look.

I Woke Up Like This

Keith Powers looked like he had rolled out of bed and straight into the front row at the Bourse de Commerce.

The oversized coat stopped the striped shirt-and-boxer-shorts combination from looking completely like pyjamas, but only just. His nonchalance sells the look, to me at least.

Tailoring That Fits

Joe Alwyn started 2026 as a Dior muse, but Saint Laurent’s cleaner, more straightforward tailoring feels like a far more natural fit. This look delivered exactly the kind of understated elegance that suits him best.

Third Time’s The Charm

We’ve already seen this Saint Laurent Pre-Fall 2026 dress in brown and gold on Natalia Dyer and Virginie Efira, but Charlotte Gainsbourg’s burgundy-and-gold lace version is the strongest outing yet.

The richer colour palette instantly gives the dress more appeal, and she wears it with the effortless insouciance that has always defined her style.

Seeing Red

Charli XCX and Madonna both embraced Saint Laurent’s love affair with lace, albeit from different ends of the spectrum.

Charli’s red leather-and-lace slip dress felt entirely in keeping with her current aesthetic, while the pink-and-black pumps Madonna styled with her crimson lace mini were jarring.

Anja Rubik, Amelia Gray and Daisy Edgar-Jones looked like they had formed a girl group, each wearing a different colour variation of Saint Laurent’s Fall 2026 lace two-piece look.

You won’t be surprised that Anja and Amelia made these looks feel completely natural. However, for Daisy, this aesthetic sits well outside her usual style, and while I appreciate the experiment, I don’t think she sells it as convincingly. The confidence and attitude the look demands came far more naturally to the models, as you would expect.

Tucked Tie Trend

We’ve seen Saint Laurent’s tucked-tie styling repeatedly since the Spring and Fall 2026 collections, and this front row confirmed the trend isn’t going anywhere.

Chen Zheyuan and Rami Malek both embraced the look with striped shirts offset by polka-dot ties, proving that mixing patterns can work when the colour palette stays restrained.

Tom Sturridge and Lewis Pullman opted for stripes on stripes instead. Like Vassili Schneider, Lewis was revisiting familiar territory, having worn a similar Saint Laurent look for the Remarkably Bright Creatures premiere and the Oscars. If anything, this is becoming one of the house’s signature styling signatures.

Back To Basics

While plenty of guests embraced Saint Laurent’s latest styling trends, Jaafar Jackson and Austin Butler kept things classic in the house’s sharp pinstripe tailoring.

I remember when cropped jackets were everywhere, but the return of the longer-line jacket feels far more elegant. It gives the silhouette room to breathe.

Both men skipped the shirt altogether, allowing the tailoring to take centre stage.

Featherlight Finish

Hande Erçel was breathtaking in a Georges Chakra Spring 2023 Couture ivory halter gown.

The soft drapery around the hips was beautiful, but it was the lattice-embroidered skirt, finished with feather detailing, that made this look feel heavenly. A striking diamond-and-emerald Pomellato necklace completed her look.

Velvet, In A Heatwave?

Paris hit a record 40.9°C (105.6°F), so velvet was probably the last fabric most Parisians were reaching for this week. Then again, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu has never dressed according to any rules.

Her Ilya Migmoon strapless velvet gown was rich, sculptural and unapologetically glamorous. I only wish she hadn’t rested her hands on the exaggerated hip detail, because that architectural shape was easily the most interesting and important part of the design.

The Shoes Win Here

Benedetta Porcaroli wore the Prada Fall 2026 dress we first saw on Reese Witherspoon at the Elle World celebration.

If you weren’t sold on the silhouette then, I’m not convinced this pale-blue version will change your mind. The coordinating Pomellato necklace may well have been the deciding factor behind the look, but for me the red Prada Fall 2026 embellished pumps are the winning factor. The dress itself felt a little too casual for this occasion.

Signature Stella

Regular readers will instantly recognise Pilar Fogliati’s white strapless draped gown as Stella McCartney.

The distinctive neckline became one of the designer’s defining signatures for Spring 2026, much like the faux-fur peplum has become synonymous with Fall 2026. It’s a detail that immediately identifies the collection.

Signature Neckline Part II

Farida Khelfa also wore a Stella McCartney Spring 2026 gown. I’m not surprised she chose black over the yellow runway version, worn by Kate Hudson to the 2025 Academy Museum Gala, as it feels far more aligned with her personal style.

Volume Upon Volume

I completely understand why Yang Zi was drawn to this Alex Mabille Spring 2024 Couture gown.

But my first instinct was to remove the oversized bows and diaphanous sleeves. The more I looked at it, however, the more I realised that without those dramatic elements, the gown would have felt very one-dimensional and flat.

Always Elegant

Catherine Deneuve looked as elegant as ever. Some people elevate an event simply by walking into the room, and Catherine remains one of them. She looked effortlessly chic.

Missing The Full Picture

I’m genuinely disappointed that the official imagery didn’t include a full-length shot of Kerry Washington wearing her Carolina Herrera Resort 2026 daffodil-yellow cropped top and column skirt.

Thankfully, Kerry shared a full look on Instagram. The warm amber Pomellato necklace beautifully complemented the saturated yellow, creating one of the evening’s strongest jewellery pairings.

Signature Carla

Carla Bruni has never met a slip dress she didn’t love. Consistency works in her favour.

Draped To Perfection

Isabella Ferrari wore a Taller Marmo draped Eolia gown. The draping gave the minimalist silhouette plenty of character.

Modern Drama

Amina Seck closed out the evening in a dramatic black gown that delivered the strongest silhouette of the night.

The voluminous sculptural skirt contrasted beautifully with the clean strapless bodice, allowing both the fashion and the Pomellato jewellery to command equal attention.

Nouvelles Vagues International Biarritz Film Festival

Usually, I love absolutely everything either of the Schneider brothers wears, but Vassili Schneider has now repeated this striped shirt-and-tie combination by Saint Laurent three times.

I’m hoping the new Spring 2027 collection gives him a fresh direction for his next appearance. Does he still look good? Absolutely. The relaxed tailoring suits him well, as always, although the trousers needed tailoring.

Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo both wore Loewe by Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez from the Fall 2026 collection.

If this week has taught us anything, it’s that oversized cuffs are becoming one of the defining menswear details of the moment. The exaggerated turned-back sleeves appeared here again, while those navy trousers with the yellow side stripe are already emerging as a signature piece from the collection after Jiang Qiming wore the same design last week.

Enola Holmes 3 New York Premiere

Louis Partridge joined his co-star Millie Bobby Brown on the red carpet wearing Prada.

The deep V neckline, clean lines and sharp proportions gave the look a youthful modernity, while the minimal styling ensured the focus remained firmly on the cut. This is Prada tailoring at its most immaculate.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 Premiere

Daniel Dae Kim served up effortless summer elegance in a light Lardini suit.

The soft neutral jacket paired with crisp white separates struck exactly the right balance for a warm-weather premiere, but it was the taupe Christian Louboutin loafers that pleased me most about this look.

2026 Nastri D’Argento Photocall

Mahmood also embraced Prada this week.

Much like the Loewe looks in Biarritz, oversized cuffs made another appearance. The relaxed slate-grey tailoring, layered over a fine striped knit, felt effortless without losing its precision, but the static in the trousers were a distraction.

Young Washington Nashville Premiere

William Franklyn-Miller wore Saint Laurent.

Skipping the shirt – much like Louis Partridge, and who can blame them in this heatwave? – gave this black double-breasted suit a sharper, more contemporary attitude. The satin peak lapels, elongated silhouette and clean neckline demonstrated how Anthony Vaccarello continues to refine evening tailoring through simplicity.

If you’re wondering whether there was an unspoken dress code inspired by the series itself, the connections between the actresses’ characters and their fashion choices are difficult to ignore. Several looks appeared to reference the elemental identities of their characters, from the Fire Nation to the Earth Kingdom.

Fire Nation Energy

Momona Tamada, who plays Ty Lee, delivered the most immediate character reference of the evening.

While Ty Lee isn’t a firebender, she is one of Princess Azula’s closest allies from the Fire Nation and is almost always dressed in shades of pink and crimson. Momona’s molten Rahul Mishra Spring 2026 Couture gown, embroidered with swirling shades of red, orange and black, instantly called to mind flames and flowing lava, making it feel like a tribute to the Fire Nation rather than Ty Lee’s signature wardrobe.

This isn’t the first time this Rahul Mishra Couture gown has found itself at the centre of a perfectly judged thematic dressing moment. Celeste O’Connor wore it to the Scream 7 premiere back in February, where the embroidery evoked blood, gore and horror.

Blue Fire Burns Hottest

Elizabeth Yu, who plays Princess Azula, gave us the cleverest character connection of the group.

Azula is regarded as the Fire Nation’s greatest firebender, so an icy-blue Moschino Fall 2016 archive gown might seem like an unexpected choice at first glance.

Avatar fans, however, will know that Azula’s fire burns blue rather than the traditional orange or red. Within the series, her blue flames represent a hotter, more powerful form of fire, making the colour immediately recognisable to anyone familiar with the character. Add in the scorched-effect hem, and the look became an inspired interpretation of Azula’s signature ability.

Gothic Glam

Thalia Tran, who plays Mai, stayed remarkably close to her character’s aesthetic.

Mai is known throughout the series for her deadpan personality, love of dark clothing and permanently unimpressed expression. Her wardrobe almost exclusively revolves around black, burgundy and muted tones.

Thalia’s layered black corseted look with sheer textures, a deep burgundy underlay and black-and-red hair felt completely aligned with Mai’s gothic style.

Earth Kingdom Elegance

Yvonne Chapman, who plays Avatar Kyoshi, took a more understated approach in a sage-green Sau Lee gown.

Unlike the other actresses, Yvonne portrays her character as a legendary Avatar born in the Earth Kingdom. The soft green palette naturally evokes forests, mountains and nature, all of which are closely associated with the Earth Kingdom throughout the series.

While the gown doesn’t reference Kyoshi’s iconic armour or elaborate face paint, the colour and the choice of Hong Kong label Sau Lee together created a thoughtful connection to both the character and the actress.

Some may see these looks as edging towards costume dressing, but I appreciate the storytelling. Rather than recreating their characters outright, each actress interpreted the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender through colour, texture or mood. These are the kinds of moments that reward fans who recognise the references while still appreciating the fashion in its own right.
