The 18th annual Stonegate Neighborhood garage sale is June 1st and 2nd from 8AM to 2PM.

The 4th of July neighborhood Parade starts at 10AM at the South Pool. Yep on July 4th..duh.

These are two great events for residents and friends. The Stonegate garage sale draws people from all over the Front Range and is sure to be a big hit again this year. Check out the article here for full details.

Remember for the Parade kids should decorate their bikes, wagons, strollers, scooters etc… with Patriotic gear and ride in the parade around the pool loop. THere will be games and a lot of fun activities for the whole family so come out and meet your neighbors. It’s fun.

Cabela’s is Coming to Lone Tree, Colorado

Yes it’s true! We have scored a big deal here in Douglas County Colorado. Cabela’s is coming to Lone Tree and the RidgeGate development near the Sky Ridge Hospital.

The new Cabela’s store will be located at the I-25 and RidgeGate exit. With over 100,000 square feet of outdoor gear who isn’t going to be thrilled.

Cabela’s has always been a big part of Colorado even though the closest location was Sidney, Nebraska. People all over the State of Colorado make yearly trips to Sidney just to shop at Cabela’s. They carpool with family, friends and hunting buddies to get geared up for the season ahead. It’s like a right of passage for some kids to be able to make the trip to Cabela’s with their Dad to be updated with new hunting and fishing gear. Kids love Cabela’s.

Having Cabela’s in my backyard is going to be dangerous for my marriage and my savings. I’m sure I’m not the only person that will feel the Cabela’s magnet pulling me in on a regular basis.

Get ready because Cabela’s will be here in 2013!

Stonegate Village Garage Sale

The annual Stonegate Village neighborhood garage sale is here for 2012.

Dates: June 1st and 2nd, 2012.

Please drive slowly through Stonegate as there are many kids out of school and trying to enjoy the fun.

Directions; From I-25 and Lincoln Ave in Douglas County Colorado. Take the Lincoln Ave exit and head East 3 miles to the entrance of Stonegate. Stonegate Village and the garage sale will be in both the North and South entrances of Stonegate. The entire neighborhood will be participating. Stonegate is located in Parker, Colorado

Times: Most people start putting items out for sale around 8AM and keep them out until around 2:00. Yes there are always early risers that will have items out before 8AM and keep them out past 2PM. Some stay open into the evening.

Early birds seem to get the best deals each year so get here early or be faced with picking through the scraps. As mentioned in previous years I’ve seen people with their tables out at 6:30AM and buyers lined up ready to go that early.

Expect to see professional garage sale buyers too. I’ve witnessed people driving around in huge moving trucks buying items at just about every house. I guess they take it back and sell it on Craigslist or eBay. I don’t know.

One final tip is that the best deals are almost always found on the second day. A lot of the garage sale items will be picked over but sellers will be letting it go cheap.

Parker Days Carnival

Parker Days Summer Festival is coming June 8-10th. There is a sneak peak event on June 7th.

Parker families have come to love the Parker Days Summer Festival. Over the past two years they have expanded and changed the areas where the festival is held but the main area is generally the same. Right in Downtown Parker. You cannot miss it.

To get here from I-25 take the Ridgegate Exit off I-25 and head East until you run into the Town of Parker. Parking can be tricky but there is usually plenty of Parker Police directing traffic.

Expect to have access to plenty of rides and games and of course carnival food. Can’t wait to get a funnel cake with extra sugar. My 3 year old loves it. Nothing like a 3 year old on straight sugar for an afternoon of fun. There are usually some really good local foodies out there with booths selling yummy treats too.

There’s plenty of shade and places to rest and rejuvenate so no worries about bringing chairs but you can if you want to. There will be something for every age group in your family. There is usually a farmers market setup on Mainstreet for fresh veggies too.

Low Inventory in the Denver Housing Market

Low inventory continues to be the new normal in Denver, Colorado.

Check out the stats above. As of February 2012 we were 41.89% below where we were just one year ago for homes and condos on the market in Denver. There are only 10,086 single family and condos on the market.

This low inventory is really helping home sellers at the moment. It seems like the good old days of the boom market right now as we are seeing multiple offers on homes. Multiple offers are creating situations where some homes are being bid up to higher prices.

Could significant appreciation be far behind? It sure looks like it could happen in some neighborhoods.

When you drive home tonight look around your neighborhood and take note of how few for sale signs there are. Anyone that has been on the fence about making a move might want to reconsider. Now is definitely a great time to sell your home.

Tickets are now on SALE for the Elizabeth Stampede and if you buy before May 8th you get $2 off normal prices so buy you tickets early.

Well if you are looking for fun things to do you should consider heading out to the Elizabeth Stampede in early June. We have been going to this rodeo for years and every time we leave happy. It’s great family fun and you will probably see someone you know. People from all over come to see this rodeo.

The Town of Elizabeth goes all out for this annual event and I guarantee you that you will have fun!

The events are spread out over 3 days with parties, dinners and dances before hand. We usually hit the Saturday or Sunday rodeo events and let the kids play and do some of the activities.

What to expect at the Elizabeth Stampede in 2012.

There is usually easy parking and even if you don;t get in the main lot the walk is generally short from other parking areas.
Food and drink are available everywhere in the event and even in the Town of Elizabeth.
Activities for kids and adults.
Let your inner cowboy out and come check it out. Watching the Rodeo will keep you and your family entertained for hours.
Yes they have a mutton bustin competition for kids.
It’s worth the price of admission just to go sit and watch the rodeo clowns.
