Films are produced by recording images from the world with cameras, or by creating images using animation techniques or special effects.

Films are cultural artifacts created by specific cultures, which reflect those cultures, and, in turn, affect them. Film is considered to be an important art form, a source of popular entertainment and a powerful method for educating — or indoctrinating — citizens. The visual elements of cinema gives motion pictures a universal power of communication. Some films have become popular worldwide attractions by using dubbing or subtitles that translate the dialogue.

Traditional films are made up of a series of individual images called frames. When these images are shown rapidly in succession, a viewer has the illusion that motion is occurring. The viewer cannot see the flickering between frames due to an effect known as persistence of vision, whereby the eye retains a visual image for a fraction of a second after the source has been removed. Viewers perceive motion due to a psychological effect called beta movement.

The origin of the name "film" comes from the fact that photographic film (also called film stock) had historically been the primary medium for recording and displaying motion pictures. Many other terms exist for an individual motion picture, including picture, picture show, photo-play, flick. A common name for film in the United States is movie, while the Europeans prefer cinema. Additional terms for the field in general include the big screen, the silver screen, the cinema and the movies.

Website Analytical

Website Analytical web site for your web, blog, domain for luck all
Domain Age:
Links:
Daily Visitors:
Daily Revenue:
and all information ist very good web
Site Information:

Title
RaVeN RevieW
Description
Tags
Language
Framework
Valid W3C
Valid W3C
Page Rank:
Google Page Rank
Valid Page Rank
Valid W3C
Directory Listing:
Dmoz Directory Listed
Dmoz Listed
Yahoo Directory Listed
Yahoo Listed
Google Directory Listed
Google Listed
Traffic:
Famous in Countries
None
Alexa Ranking
5,006,944
Compete Ranking
Quantcast Ranking

look ist very good analyz your web
cek here

Review ajax mortgage calculator

ajax mortgage calculator its a calculator that does financial analysis, comparison, plotting, amortization, extra payment, refinancing options plus a lot more with blazing speed in AJAX.
ist a simple calculate for you mortage

example:

Loan Amount:

Interest Rate: %

Loan Term: years and months

Start Date:

test this calculate here

Review www.asianchatroom.net

asian chat room find friend, busines, girl friend, or boy friend
chat at world Free Webcam Viewing!
This maymanifest itself in the products or services they choose to marketing in a given economic climate or it might show up in the target market they choose to go after. one of the most important ways that great marketer adapt to their evronment is in the vehcle they choose to deliver their meseges. in this case i am using the trem 'vehicle' to simply mean the mecha nism that is used to deliver the marketing picth to the potential costumer.

Over time there have been many ways to deliver a marketing messege, beginning with simple word of mouth and progresing through the year into newspaper, magazines, poscard, billboard, radio, television, email, blog, etc. Each oh these ways to deliver a marketing messege has strengths, weaknesses, and varying degrees of effectiveness and cost.

However, most forward-thinking marketer have dream their masseg to their porspects.Ideally this new marketing medium would have the following very important characteristics:

1. Great Deverability Simply put, this means tha once the marketer sends out the message, there will be very high degree of proballity that the message will reach the intended recipent.

2. Great Open Rates Once the message has been delivered,it is very important that the recipient opens the message so that the can actually see the messag

3. Supports Interactivity : it is no longer enough to just present the marketig message, you want to be able to engage the prospect in some manner. You wan them to click a buton, fill out a checj box, give an opinion, call a phone number, etc

4. Supports Rich Media :Idally you want to be able to present your message using a variety of sound, video, and images that can go far beyond text alone.

5. Is Permission Based : In all your marketing, you want the prospect to have requested your information and have given permision to you send it.

6. Is Not Location Dependent : With many types of marketing, the recipent must be physically located near some object, such as a radio,TV,billboard.etc. The ultimate goal is to be able to deliver the message to the prospect no matter where they are located physically
As our team looked a the future of marketing? ....inosculate... in next post

Jude Grans Joel Comm Rights to All.com adresses

LOVELAND - in a landmark decision that will be sure to usher in a new world internet order,a world Wide judge has just granted internet marketing guru and entrepreneur Joel Comm the exlusive traede mark righat to the .com web addres suffix domain under the jurisdiction and discretion of Joel comm.

The decision came about when Joel Comm successfully sued Al Gore, who had previously laid claim to "inviting" the internet in 1999. However, citting multiple witnesses and score off website as
evidence, and pointing specfically to the username he has carried since birth, Joel Comm was able to aprove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he, Comm was in fact the person who invented the internet and gave it is own last name.

In making their case, attorneys for the defendant, Al Gore,Raised questions about the speling off the name Comm. if joel were indeed the true inventor of the internet, they asked, then why weren't all website affixed wiht a .Comm?

Joel explained that back in 1997, two year before Gore took credit for the internet, he was messing around in his basement on his computer and came up with the idea for the World Wide Web. When it came time to wire the fitst web address however, right as he had written WorldVillage.com, he was about to type the second "m" when his computer ran out of memory.
Now , Joel was flat broke at the time, and memory costing what it did, he couldn't afford to spell out his entire name and so .Com it was.

Judge Bill Gates, arbiter of Universal court of the World Wide web in which the case was heard, asked Joel why happened to be so broke at that time. Joel explained that days prior to the conceving the internet, he had been aiding the Negerian government with acquiring some funds stuck in escrow and was flat broke at the time.

Now that Joel Comm has received the proper recognition for his accomplish ment and beed give back was rightfully his, the general public may be wondering wah comes next. Being the humanitarian that he is, Joel ha agreed not to shut down tje internet by denying the operator of .Com's the right to maintain their websites. he is however asking every person with a .com to register their site with him.

In addition , instead of asking all website to change addresses to .comm(which would be well within his legal rights), joel has intead announced that he will ne legally changing his name to Joel Com.

Review SFI

you need money?
look this program its really good SFI give your pasif income its true its no scam
look this:

It's true! Like most of the Nokia branded mobiles, it is simple to use and does not have to many complications like the modern mobiles of today.
I know that I have owned more than eight different mobiles in the last seven years which is quite a low and is not good for the environment. This Nokia 6230i just happened to be in the midst of these mobiles and it is a shame that it left me before I was fully satisfied which is more of a shame really.
I actually bought this mobile on the beginning of the year 2006. Quite a shame that I dropped the mobile in juice and it stopped working. That is why I bought my Sony Ericsson K750i.

This mobile is not heavy at all; it only weighs about 95 grams and the looks of it are cool. One of the things I like about this mobile is that you can change the facial cover, memory stick and it has both Bluetooth and Infrared connection.
The keys of the mobile are very soft to the touch and so as to the press. The keys are quite easy to note as they have big black prints on them. The lay out of the keys on this Nokia 6230i makes it easy to navigate through out the whole mobile. Everything is quite simple to use, therefore if you are a first time buyer this might be the mobile for you.

The battery life of this mobile is quite good actually. I once talked to my mate more than four hours before the battery ran out. Therefore the talk time of the mobile is just over four hours which could even be five hours if the battery was fully charged.
It also has over 200 hours of stand by time which is very good for those who don't use their mobiles a lot.
----------MEMORY----------

When I bought this mobile it had a 32 MB MMC memory stick with it and already has a 32MB internal memory. 32MB holds about eight MP3 songs. The memory can however be extended by buying a 256MB or 512MB, MMC memory stick from many electrical shops.
----------PRICE & PACKAGING----------

The Nokia 6230i comes in a small pictured box. In the box you will have you mobile, the battery, mobile charger, the manual (also in other languages), Software to run into you PC, USB connection, head set, sim card and your memory card.
Last year when I bought this mobile it cost me £120 from Argos. I actually remember that it was on special offer as I bought it at the beginning of the year period were all the sales are fuming in every shop.
----------GAMES----------

This Nokia 6230i comes with three games for you to enjoy. Sadly the Nokia 6230i does not come with Nokia classic snake game which has been there forever. It was not much of a disappointment to me really because they just had to move on from the old generation of games to the new generation, though some other Nokia modern mobiles still have the Snake game.
The games included with the mobile are the Backgammon game which I actually learnt how to play with my previous Nokia mobile. The 3D golf game is one of the games which I find boring really; maybe it is mainly because I never accepted golf in my fun sports list. I have played the Golf game and the graphics are quite good really, the game is mainly based on how to maintain the striking power on the golf ball. However, if you are a golf fan you would enjoy the game more than I did.
Street Racer is the third game that comes with This Nokia mobile. The game is of two cars racing together and you have to control one of them. It is quite hard to win n the game for the reason that when you play against the computer in never crushes on other cars on every journey which gives it an advantage because whenever I play the game I crush at least two times onto other cars or swerve out of the main road which slows my vehicle down.
The game is easy to play as you only have to use the right and left navigation keys.
With the game settings you can however chose to turn on or off the sounds, change the game level (easy, medium, difficult) and to turn on the shakes (vibrate).
If you want more games you can download loads of Java games from your network provider WAP r the internet. You might have to pay for most of the games unless stated 'free'

----------MEDIA----------
This mobile has a lovely 1.3 mega Pixel camera. It might not sound a lot but the picture quality is actually quite good. You can either set the picture to High resolution (bigger and sharp image) or low Resolution (small and low pixel image).
The camera is fairly easy to access; you can go on the main menu and chose camera or you could use the right navigation key to access the camera from the main page. I used to find this very useful really because it saved me time. When I was fiddling with the mobile I actually realized that you could change to access the camera from the right navigation key to the left, up or down navigation. Therefore you can access the camera which ever key you.
With the camera it comes with editing clip arts and picture frames which make your picture look cool or funny.
I found it very easy to print my pictures by taking my MMC memory stick to a picture processing shop; I mainly used to go to boots for some reasons.

Using the 1.3 Mega pixel resolution you can also take video with the mobile. You can edit your videos via the mobile if you want or you can use more advanced editing via your computer if you want. Whilst taking the video you of course have two choices, either to take a high quality video which takes up more space or to take a low quality video which uses less memory but has bad quality picture. The video will be recorded in a 3GP format which can be played via windows media player if you transfer the video to your computer.
----------CALLS----------
-You can divert your calls to other numbers or your voicemail if you want.
-You can call up to five people at the same time. I always used to call three of me friends at the same time; it's quite a cool feature to be honest.
- You can choose to hide your number when calling other mobiles.
- It has call timer, (calculates how long the call has lasted) and keeps it in record.
-It stores up to 20 last dialled, missed calls and received calls.

----------MESSAGING----------
---With the Nokia 6230i you can send SMS which is the normal text messaging with letter or symbol characters. When writing an SMS you could use the integrated dictionary
---You can send MMS which includes all you media (pictures, voice recording, videos and MP3 songs). This tends to take at least a minute to send to other mobiles as the files tend to be of big size in terms of memory. The mobile automatically resize the image if it is too big to send.
---You can e-mail your friends via the mobile and you can also read you e-mails on the go.

----------CONNECTIVITY----------
With this mobile there are various ways of connecting to other sources such as mobiles, internet or your computer. You can connect to other mobiles when transferring data, pictures, videos or music by using infrared or Bluetooth. Bluetooth could however be the easiest and fastest way of transferring the data. With infrared the two mobiles have to be very close to each other and have to be turned. With Bluetooth you can be ten metres away and still transfer the data quicker.
Bluetooth is also easy to transfer to computers though I find it easier to transfer to the computer via the USB connection.
The Nokia 6230i comes with the USB connection. If you want to use this to synchronize documents to your computer it is best you use a USB 2.0 port on your computer as it makes the transfers quicker.
This mobile has WAP and GPRS therefore you can connect to the internet and browse thousands of mobile beta pages (websites suitable o be viewed on mobile screens). I used to mainly use the internet to talk on msn with my fellow mates or just browse for games and latest news in the world.
The mobile also has PoC (Push to talk) which lets you use the mobile as a walkie talkie. I never actually had the chance to use this feature, but I'm sure it's a good one.

----------APPLICATIONS----------
---Converter
This mobile has a converter which converts money (selected currencies), weight (pounds, stones, KGs), length (KM, centimetres, Inches) and temperature (degrees, Fahrenheit).
I did found this feature useful a couple of times when I had to convert pounds to stones as I do not really know how much a stone is, in pounds.
--- The mobile has a dictionary which translates basic words to languages like French, Dutch, Spanish and Italian. It also has an English dictionary.

----------EXTRA FEATURES----------
---FM Radio this mobile comes with an integrated FM radio which is quite cool to listen to if you want to hear the news or if you are bored from listening to your old songs. You could put the radio to loudspeaker or use the headset. You can save some of your radio channels onto the mobile so that you won't have to look for them every time you want to listen to the radio.
---Like any other mobile, this Nokia 6230i also comes with a calendar which lets you set reminders e.g. anniversaries, meetings and things to do during the whole day. The calendar feature of this mobile is actually a bit different from other mobiles I have owned as it lets you view the calendar in weekly format.
---The mobile has a world clock which lets you navigate the earth as globe and when you click on an area it tells you the GMT time of that country comparing to the London time. If you are going to a holiday which is out f the country this could be a useful to use as it tells you how many hours you are going to change your watch. I used the feature when I was going to France and yes it was all good, didn't have to ask a dozen people to find out the French time.
---The mobile has an integrated speaker which means if someone calls, you can put them on loud speaker if you do not have your headset or if you just can't be bothered to hold the mobile.
---With Nokia 6230i of course you can change your display picture, screen savers and ring tones. You can use your mp3 songs as ring tones or you can download them from the internet. With screen savers and main display picture you can both use the pictures and screen savers which come with the mobile or you can use your own personal pictures.
---The mobile has a Tri-Band meaning you can use it in many countries including European, American and some African countries.
----------NOTE
---Run the software provided if you want extra features such as picture and video editing tools to your computer. If your computer was made before the year 2000 you might also have to run the software so that you computer recognise the mobile when it has been connected. If you have lost your manual you can still find it o the software.
This mobile is not touch screen like some nowadays mobile
---Do not I repeat 'DO NOT' let the mobile get in contact with any fluids. I dropped mine in juice and now it is no more  If you drop it in juice and you do not have insurance on the mobile it will probably cost you more to fix it than buying a new one. That is exactly what happened to me so I bought my K750i. Do not forget that water damages are not included in the manufacture's warranty.
---The automatic answer only works if you have your headphones plugged into your mobile.
---The speed dial only keeps nine contacts.
---Like modern mobile this mobile is not a touch screen I'm afraid, so if you are looking for touch screen mobiles this isn't the one for you. It does have the five way navigation key though.
---The mobile has 65k colours.
---With the voice recorder you can only record up to an hour.
---If you can't read English you can change the phone language to other languages e.g. French, German, Spanish, Netherlands, turkey, Russia etc.
---You can change the mobile phone cover to fancy designs.
---If you have owned a Nokia 6230 then this mobile will be very familiar as they are quite the same really.
---The mobile comes in different networks e.g. orange, virgin, T-mobile, O2, 3, Vodafone etc.

Nokia 2630

Due to a recent family crisis I knew it was time to invest in a better mobile phone in order to be able to stay in touch with my family and friends. A basic mobile phone is what I prefer as I have a good digital camera and a good MP3 player and prefer to keep the 3 separate! As this family crisis was very unexpected and swallowed up a lot of rainy day money, spare money was also very tight and I knew I had to stick to a strict budget when looking for my new phone.
I browsed around a few of my local mobile phone shops but as I am an 02 customer they did seem to offer me the best all round deals. They only had a couple Pay As You Go mobile phones within my price range (as cheap as possible!) and at £29.99 I decided to go for the Nokia 2630, a basic but stylish looking phone at a very reasonable price. I was also given the opportunity to trade in my old phone, which would take another £5 from the total price, of course, I took them up on the offer!
Specifications

The boring bits:
Size - 105 x 45 x 9.9mm
Weight - 66g with battery
Display - 128 x 160 pixels
Messaging and Email - E-mail, Nokia Xpress Audio Messaging, SMS Messaging, MMS Messaging
Multimedia - Digital VGA Camera/Video Recorder, FM Radio

Other features include vibration alert, 24 polyphonic ringtones, automatic redial, call divert, call barring, call hold, call timer, call waiting, voicemail, speakerphone, Bluetooth, phone book capacity for 1000 names and numbers, alarm clock, calendar, calculator and 3 pre-installed games.
The Packaging
The phone was very neatly packed in a small and very compact cardboard box along with the small charger, hands-free headset and instruction booklet. When I first turned the phone on there was enough charge for me to use the phone for a couple of hours, which was quite useful, as I wasn't going straight home.
My Experience With The Phone

My first impressions were "love at first sight". I loved the sleek and stylish look of the phone from the instant I saw it. Its very shiny, black and slim design makes it quite eye-catching and, I feel, a very feminine phone.
The back of the phone is a matt black finish, while the front of the phone is a lovely glossy black with a band of silver around the edge and the navigation keys to the centre of the phone are also in silver.

The number keys are glossy black with blue digits printed on them and are flush with the phone but are still very easy to press, I thought it might be a bit tricky to press each key individually with them all being flush, but I certainly haven't had any problems with this. Although perhaps someone with larger fingers might.
Navigation using the menu is also foolproof, as is usually the case with Nokia phones. You just press the centre menu button and navigate your way to where you want to go using the arrow keys.

I've never had a phone with Bluetooth before and was quite impressed with this feature, as I was able to send up-to-date pictures of Erin's improvement in hospital daily to my friends and family back home.
The VGA camera is easily accessed by a quick action button on the side of the phone, it doesn't take the best of quality photos but then I didn't want the phone for the camera. It takes decent enough photos to use as your screen saver or to send to other phones.

The 4 navigation arrow keys each have a quick action function as well, one also takes you directly to the camera, one to your text messaging function, one to your phone book and one to your calendar. You can also access the FM radio by pressing and holding the star key and the silent mode by pressing and holding the hash key.
I never turn my phone off and usually use it at least a couple of times a day for calls and texts and have only ever needed to give it a charge once a week. It takes about 40 minutes to fully charge the battery.

All in all I have found this a really great little phone. It is lightweight, slim and attractive looking, easy to use with great reception and sound quality. A great way to keep in touch with friends and family at those all important times in your life. It has a great little radio and a camera too, what more could you want from a phone!
I would definitely recommend this phone to anyone out there who is just looking for a phone as a means of communication, it has everything you could possibly need.

My only complaints would be (petty as they may seem) remembering to lock the keypad, my last 2 phones were flip phones and I just can't seem to remember to lock the keypad and I keep phoning people I don't want to phone!!! But then that's not the fault of the phone, that's my fault. And trying to keep the ear prints and fingerprints off of the beautiful glossy front, but then that would mean stopping using the phone.

Nokia N95 8GB

Christmas this year was kind of tarnished by the fact that I worked most of the Christmas period including the actual day, on the plus side Christmas came early with a renewal of my contract with the 3 mobile phone network, which of course means a brand spanking new phone. After a nasty experience with a Nokia phone two years ago, I was reluctant to return to the brand feeling more encouraged to stick with my Sony Ericsson phone which for a year had been 100% reliable and faithful (with the odd silly glitch) the trouble being in the year since I got my last phone Sony Ericsson a company that in recent years have been at the forefront of mobile technology have not moved on, while bizarrely the rest of the networks have. Nokia offered a phone that had all the things I needed plus more, that phone was the Nokia N95 8GB version in black (black is the new silver you know?)
I was fully aware of all the funky things that the N95 8GB provided, and as possible as it is to get aroused by a mobile phone believe me I was there. I'm a bit of a gadget boy; actually sadly I'm a gadget man now having passed the middle stages of my 30's. As a result this vice requires that I have all the funky gadgets I can, having raised all my kids I'm fortunate enough to be able to afford all these little vices, but nothing comes sweeter than the vice that includes something for nothing, the N95 8GB on contract comes absolutely free, on Pay As You Go or "Sim Free" it would cost over £300. I contacted 3 and arranged my upgrade and the following day it arrived. Sadly in between ordering and the arrival of my phone a couple of reviews on techno geek boy or girl websites started to ring alarm bells. I should add that the alarm bells a month on are not something that is ringing, and seems to be a compatibility with the phone and two large mobile provider s O2 and Vodafone to be specific, the fact that one should not be operating with the phone (obviously purchased sim free) and some subsequent knowledge makes me realise why, quite simply the phone is designed with the 3 network in mind as a result some of the facilities don't work on other networks. I am happy to report that on 3 I am having great fun with the phone; it's also currently the only network offering the phone for free.

Ok so forget my wobble let's get on with the phone review:
The Nokia N95 is a bit larger than the average phone on the market marginally shorter in height than a can of fizzy drink, and slightly narrower (and of course obviously thinner), you get to appreciate the size when you get to grips with exactly what the phone does. As I mentioned earlier the phone is only available in black (well at the time of writing at least). The phone carefully comes with something great, and that is a sunken screen; my last two mobiles have come with a screen that sits prominently at the front the result of this being that within 48 hours I already had scratches on the screen. A month in and I'm happy to report not a single scratch, that being said I'll probably fall over and smash it later.

The Nokia N95 is designed with entertainment in mind so the first thing to address is the video player. The phone comes equipped with flash player, windows media player, and real player. In reality the video option is the reason for the 8GB built in memory , which already comes installed with Spiderman 3 (not just a clip) the whole movie which takes just over half a gigabyte of the memory. If you're in the know how to download and convert movies into AVI format and put them on the phone you can add more movies to the phone (sadly I'm not, but I don't like to watch films on mobiles either). The picture quality of the Spiderman 3 movie is just as good as a DVD, and if like me you don't like to watch films on a mobile with the included cables you can connect your phone to your TV, and watch it there in DVD quality.
Of course you can also watch downloadable content too streamed via 3's network. For example news reports, weather forecasts, music video's etc. Also 3 users have access to a series of TV channels BBC One, ITV, FHM, BBC Three, Nickelodeon, Kiss, BBC News24, Paramount, GEEK TV, National Geographic, MTV, Kerrang, VidZone, & MTV Tracks, all of which you can watch on any 3 mobile, but in fairness they were all a bit grotty with glitches and crashes the N95 offers really smooth streaming and because the phone is powered by the X-Series option (more on this later) the streaming is near broadband quality.

When it comes to music you have the fairly standard MP3 player, which most phones have nowadays. But with 8GB of memory and the ability to add a further 2GB by means of micro SD card, you can easily get 1400 tracks on your mobile, for the first time a mobile phone has high spec memory that allows the phone to sit rival to any major MP3 Player.
You can listen to/or watch what is on the phone by two methods either with the stereo speakers that come built in (and are pretty loud) or via earphones which also come included. Controls are activated by pushing the phones slider (the front panel that covers the keyboard) the wrong way, where you find the options to play, stop, fast forward, or rewind; volume controls are on the right hand side of the phone. But if using the headphones you have a little remote control device attached which allows you to complete all these tasks.

Of course there is the obvious use for a phone, and that is to make calls. Call clarity is pretty good, but sounds a bit hollow compared to my old phone, but as the month has gone on it sounds more and more like normal. You can talk for about 2 hours continuously before you need to charge the battery (more on this later too).
Text Messaging works like pretty much every other mobile, the dictionary is a little better defined so you get more accurate definitions for lesser used words, of course like most mobiles you can update the dictionary with all new words the first word I have to admit to programming was the all offensive F word, a seemingly important word in my text messaging life. From text messaging option you have the choice to make a multi-media message for example you can attach music or a video. Or you can send an e-mail in the form of a text or multi-media message to an e-mail address rather than a phone.

Other familiar features include a diary (or calendar if you prefer), an alarm clock, and games the phone comes with two games one of which is a full game and that is the Nokia classic Snakes given a 3D twist, the other a 3D Racing game but this is a demo only and not a particularly good one in my view. However you can easily add more games, by downloading them through 2's games download portal which offers games from as little as 99p. And for those even more tight fisted you can even rent games.
Now let's move onto the less normal, and I'll start with a big one:

GPRS or if you prefer satellite navigation, for full service you need to pay a subscription which is a paltry fee. However if you don't want to pay out for this service there is a basic version that allows you to plan routes, or find where you are as well as things in your local area. The version you can access for free you simply put in your destination via postcode or the name of the street in the village, town or city you are in and it will present a map with all the roads etc. Push a button and eateries, shops, churches and places of interest all appear including distances and directions via your location. If you have 3's X-series this comes free, otherwise the information (only the specific info you require) costs about 5p to access. However if you just want to find out the name of a shop, cafe etc it won't cost you a penny. The Nokia GPRS system is as good as any TomTom or similar, insert it in a hands free kit and it will talk you through the directions as you drive obviously this is part of the aforementioned subscription service, although it does talk in free mode you just need to move along the map manually. It's not just the UK over 100 countries are covered so rather whether you're a traveller or just curious you can conjure up a map in seconds.
I keep throwing in the carrot of X-Series so I think before I explain the rest of the services I had better explain about the X-series service and what it costs.

X-Series is a service that allows you to use a variety of special abilities on your phone. Now you can purchase them individually which can be most costly, however if you pay for 3 X-Series service they are all inclusive as part of the package.
First of all for either the silver or gold X-Series service Silver £5 per month or Gold £10 a month you get high speed internet via your mobile the monthly allowance is 1GB per month however if you're not a heavy user you can intermittently go over your limit by up to a gigabyte providing it only happens once in a three month period.. Now this is not just to access the full internet via your mobile, but if you have a desktop or laptop PC you can use your mobile phone to connect to the internet at near broadband speeds. The cable you need to connect with also comes free with your phone, so as you can start to see literally everything is included.

Ebay - Unlimited and instant service regardless of how much you have used your internet service.
Yahoo - Access to Yahoo mail, their homepage, search engine, and messenger. Anything that falls within the boundaries of Yahoo is again free regardless of time you use it.

Windows Live - Again access to messenger, mail, and the homepage all inclusive with no limits.
Skype - Now mobile phones are being fitted with Skype, and the N95 was one of the first. So if you know a Skype user whether it be on a mainline phone or on a mobile regardless of how many inclusive minutes, or how much credit you have on your phone (Pay As You Go) you can ring another Skype user for absolutely free. 3 Skype phones are available on Pay As You Go for £50, although it would obviously be a very basic phone. This is ideal for couples or kids, the knowledge that they will never run out of credit, you can always get hold of them. Obviously both parties need to be in 3G enabled areas 3 now have 83% UK coverage.

Google Maps - Unlimited service to Google Maps, more advanced than GPRS but without the capability, you can produce a map in seconds and take away the roads or for the more demanding produce a satellite photograph of the area you are looking at, anywhere in the world.
Mobilcast - Download unlimited podcasts to your phone, whether it be radio shows, entertainment shows, plays, videos you name it you can get it for nothing. From audio commentaries to go with the most recent episode of Doctor Who, to Chris Moyles, or a how to guide.

Mobile Mail - A full service e-mail, none of this chopping and changing nonsense; open you mail and send replies. Download files (even in Adobe's PDF which is included on your phone) or even upload files. Even videos or photos recorded on your phone. Store your CV on your phone and send it to potential employers while out on the move.
TV - All the TV channels are provided free of charge, the list of channels is above, outside X-Series there is a charge for this service.

Lifeblog - Kind of like Myspace for adults, you can either make your blog private or open to all to see. But this is more than just rambling, this is your own bit of web space to record your life whether it be photos, video's, words, or audio. There is no technical knowledge required just upload from your phone and the rest is done for you.
All the above are available on the Silver or Gold service packages, however for the real techno freaks two services below might be right up your street but are on the gold service only.

Slingbox - Now I have not tried this, because I'm too tight to buy the Slingbox transmitter (About £99); however I can tell you about it. Slingbox allows you to watch on your mobile all the programmes your home TV can get. Or watch DVD's streamed from home, or from your Sky or cable box. And regardless of the type or brand, if you have a Digital TV receiver that can record, you can set your box to record shows while you are out.
Orb - Now this I do use, and this safely and securely pairs your PC and your phone. So if you are out and want to watch video's stored on your PC simply connect and stream. Video too small? If you have a TV near use the cables provided to show what you're streaming on your home TV. It does not have to be video, it could be music, pictures, files or letters. Ever been out and filled your phone memory with video or photo's? Then stream them back to your PC where they will be saved, allowing you to clear your phones memory and record more.

Ok now I can stop mentioning X-Series and get on with the other features of the phone. All these services are available to the handset, no subscription required although some might cost a few pence here or there like the one below (which again you can use if you have X-Series but it comes out of your Gigabyte)
Visual Radio - Listen to the radio while looking at your pictures, now this is free. But some have webcams, allowing you to watch webcam while listening to your favourite radio show.

Premierscore - Keep up to date with the scores of all the big matches when you cant physically watch them.
Quickoffice - Allows you to look at any Microsoft Office product on your phone. This also works with free Microsoft office imitation Open Office (which you can download free from the open office website).

Contacts - Store name, address, e-mail, phone numbers; as many different headings as you need.
Notepad - Make notes on the move

Voice Recorder - Allows you to record memo's for playback later.
Calculator - Self Explanatory

Winzip - Files too big and you can't transmit them anywhere? Then zip them down, compressing them and allowing you to make more use of your phone.
Currency Converter - That can download up to the minute conversions whether it be weights, measures, or currency.

Wi-fi - Bluetooth and Infrared are pretty much standard nowadays. But with the Nokia you can connect to a Wi-Fi network and use the internet to view internet or download (in case you don't want to pay for the priviledge).
Finally in this section a retailers dream, a Barcode reader. Yes with your phone you can scan up to 1000 barcodes and connect your PC to your phone (and appropriate software) and you can get your stock information on your PC without the need to purchase expensive equipment.

You may be thinking I have forgotten something, well if your thinking photographs and video's then you're wrong because I have saved the best for last. The Nokia N95 has a 5 megapixel camera this is better than some digital cameras. You can use the camera to take video or photographs, both have crystal clear clarity, no more hazy foggy images after all its a Carl Zeiss lens. And with the use of the onboard technology the camera automatically focuses and steadies allowing you to get the best you can, no more posting hard to see videos on Youtube. And again use your enclosed leads and you can play your photos or videos straight onto a TV, or connect to a DVD recorder to burn them straight to a disc.
The best thing about the Nokia N95 8GB is that all the functions are so straight forward, you don't need to be a technical whizz because as well as being incredibly straightforward there are guides on how to use each function, you'll be working this pone like an experienced pro in minutes.

This phone is advanced even by the standards of being a PDA (Mini Computer), the only disadvantage aesthetically is that it's difficult to use when writing. Nokia have allowed for this however and you can buy a special Bluetooth keyboard to turn your phone, into a fully functioning and state of the art PC.
There is just one flaw with this phone and that is the battery, it's really not that great when I get home at night my phone needs to be charged; there is none of this leaving the phone for a day it needs to be charged each day. My phone is a fully working phone, I use it for business and pleasure and as a result I had to buy another charger for work. Now don't get me wrong, if you use this just like a phone you're going to get days use from it; but want to use the other things and your talking regular charges, perhaps more regular than you have ever been used to. For now however this is the best phone I have ever owned, and it's hard to remember life before it.

I could be wrong but I think I have covered everything, I'm sorry for the long read; but a short review would never give this phone the justice it deserves.

Nokia E90

Having recently reviewed the Nokia N810 internet tablet and discovered it is little more than an executive toy, I approached the E90 without any expectations. I'm glad to say that so far I have not found any unusual missing features. Yes unlike the N810 this device actually has a phone. And that's not all, there are even some productivity applications in the form of a simple word processor and spreadsheet.
From the outside the phone appears to be rather large by modern standards, with a standard keypad and a function panel above it. There's a power switch at the top right. There are two buttons on the right side of the device, one activates the instant sound recorder function (and I suspect voice dialling as well), while the other is used to take pictures when in camera mode. Strangely this button doesn't automatically activate the camera mode in the same way that the top button activates the voice recorder function.

The device takes some getting used to as it does not have the most intuitive user interface despite being largely icon-driven. For instance to create a quick spreadsheet it is necessary to first specify where you will save the final file. You also have to name it before you get to do any editing. Then there's editing the cells. You first have to press the large square button on the keypad to enter any values. This is tedious and slows down any productivity and it would have been much more intuitive if it allowed you to enter values directly when the keypad buttons are pushed. Flip open the phone and it becomes a whole new device. A 3.5"x1.5" screen is wonderfully complemented by a micro-sized keyboard below it. This is no standard keyboard though. It has function keys including two which can be assigned as quick shortcuts for whichever of the E90s many features you use the most. There are so many features on this phone that you may find it difficult to choose what to assign them to. There's a built in music player and also a headphone socket.
This is great as the internal speaker is not the loudest and sounds quite tinny. There's also a standard mini-USB so kudos to Nokia for a design that people may actually be able to use without spending another £20-30 on accessories. As if that wasn't enough there's a micro SD card slot right next to the USB port which means you can actually take the card out without removing the battery (well, you can if you have fingernails or tweezers as the card slot isn't spring loaded). Nokia even supply a 512mb card in the box with a micro-sd to standard-sd card adapter. This is the holy grail of user friendly design as the device picks up the mp3's I drag onto it without problem. I notice there's already a filesystem on the card with a shedload of directories. This is the phones dumping ground for whatever you create on it so there are mp4 video clips, spreadsheets, documents and sound files all ready for easy transfer to your PC. There is something very satisfying about seeing a jpg image from a Nikon D80 being used as a wallpaper within seconds of a few button clicks and the fact that it can cope with compressed files from a 10 megapixel camera so easily is astounding.

As I continue to explore, the web option is my next obvious selection and it is easily accessed from one of the function keys at the top of the keyboard. At this point I hit a minor snag as the device stumbled to maintain a wi-fi connection to my home router due to the ssid not being transmitted. It is supposed to be able to cope with hidden stations but I found I had to change my router configuration to allow it to be seen by the Nokia. Once connected I changed it back and there were no more problems. Web surfing itself is not as simple as you might expect. It soon becomes apparent how much we take the mouse for granted as trying to do everything with the scroll button is fiddly and time-consuming. By far the bast thing to do is add websites that you visit frequently to your bookmarks. It was a real shame to follow the Nokia themes download link only to discover a lack of content but this phone is so customisable that it seems a trivial ommission. Then I discovered something that made me say "wow, that's good... I never expected that". It seems that the device was not just keeping a history of the pages I visited, but actually keeping the pages. By pressing the back option button I got a flashy side-scrolling history of all the pages I had visited and could click on the centre button to go back to that page. There's also a zoom option while browsing so you can view a page at 50%, 75%, 100% or 125% of it's actual pixel resolution size. While I wouldn't use this phone to do any critical surfing, I can see it being useful next time I'm in McD's if it can use their free wi-fi connectivity.
It's not all glowing praise for this device though. Strangely you have to close the case to use the camera and video camera functions. This is a minor niggle though and the 3.2 megapixel camera has a surprising degree of control over settings such as flash (yes it has a proper flash), white balance, exposure compensation, colour tone, contrast, sharpness and light sensitivity. There are a few other niggles though such as the SMS composer. From the desktop, pressing the button at the top right of the main screen provides a nifty shortcut to the composer. From there it's quick work to add the number you're sending a message to, but then what do you do? Pressing enter just adds a new line in the "to:" box and attempting to start your message results in an invalid contact name message when you try to send it. At this point the intuitive user interface grinds to a halt and I'm forced to RTFM. It turns out you have to press the scroll key down to move the cursor onto the blank lines which may be intuitive to some but wasn't for me. Still yet again this device delivers by giving a countdown of the number of characters available (160 for a standard message). According to the manual it will even split longer messages into multiple SMS sized chunks.

Yet another minor niggle is the startup time. When I power up my phone I want to talk right then, not have to wait for it to boot up. It's a phone, not a PC. Or is it? That's the thing about the E90. It tries to do so much with it's wi-fi, its bluetooth, its web-browsing, music player, video camera, PIM, calendar and GPS. The more I use it, the more I discover it can do and this is the one device I've reviewed so far which blurs the line between computer and phone. This is my uber-gadget, as it can do the jobs of other gadgets which I might carry around at times and it is more than adequate to most of those tasks. The camera will never be as good as my Nikon but it's more compact and doesn't require that I keep reading the manual every month or so. The GPS might not be as good as my Garmin Nuvi but this device is less conspicuous. Once folded up it could be mistaken for an old house-brick phone from a distance. In short, this device is so almost-perfect that it is the closest gadget I've yet found to perfection, but it's still not quite there. It's as though Nokia missed out an important test for this phone. Give it to people who don't know how to use it and then use their feedback to tweak the usability.
Is it worth the £350+ price tag though? That is a good question. There are alternatives as there seems to be a big market for these modern do-everything phones. I can see the point; but these feature packed phones make me think of hi-fi's, especially seperates systems. Is it better to have all the features together? It's certainly more portable but what happens when you can no longer get GPS map updates or replacement batteries? It's an expensive piece of kit to replace so I have to say I probably wouldn't buy one. Like the hi-fi seperates, you can get a better result by pick & mixing your ideal system. A cheap phone with an organiser, bluetooth keyboard, cheap GPS and video/stills camera could save you as much as half-the-price. Even smaller compromises like a phone from the Blackberry range could save you money or allow you to opt for a cheap hi-definition camera for about the same price. So there is the main problem in a nutshell. It's over-priced for the specification it provides. Even on Ebay these phones are still listed with buy-it-now prices of £250-£300. At £150 I would definitely get one of my own and be contented with all those little annoyances with the user interface. Until then I will have to be content with my Garmin Nuvi, my aging Motorola C385, my palm tungsten-E and the £50 digital video camera I got from Ebuyer. They still do their jobs and even if I need to buy a new gadget bag to carry them all, there's still a lot of change left over from £350.

Then again if I was offered this beauty as a free upgrade on my contract I would jump at the chance to own one. If only to tide me over until there is a genuine uber-gadget which ticks all of the boxes for me. At the moment I haven't found anything which comes closer but I am always looking.

Nokia 6500

I have finally got a new phone! I know you are thinking "So what! That's not very exciting!" Well actually for me it's a big event. You see I have had the same mobile phone for about 4 years and I loved it, it was so easy to use and familiar and even though the camera was rubbish and it looked out of date and my friends thought it was like something from the Stone Age I refused to give it up. Then it started to play up and kept turning itself off and the battery life got shorter and shorter and it was then I knew that my little reliable friend had to go!
We are with Orange and the other half took me to the Orange shop to pick a upgrade as apparently we were due one, I did try to do this on line but got confused with the phones and wanted to see them before committing to my next little friend! The nice lady who I have to say was very helpful took me through the ones I could have and I spotted this one. The other half was like a kid in a candy store and started picking all these different phones that looked like they could control a small space station! But I stuck to my guns and decided that this one looked the easiest to use, so did this phone become my friend or enemy!

COMPANY HISTORY
Nokia is a well-known famous mobile phone brand and in this mobile age most people will have owned a Nokia phone at one time or other. The company was actually first started in Finland and dates back to 1865, believe it or not the company started as a paper mill! The paper mill merged with a rubber works and cable works in 1967 to make up the world famous Nokia Corporation. In 1992 they lunched their first GSM handset the Nokia 1011, in 1994 the first phone with the famous Nokia tune and more importantly in 1997 the 6110 was launched with the game Snake!

WHAT'S IN THE BOX?
Now I very nearly had to skate pass this bit because as soon as I got my new phone home the other half disappeared with the box to play with my new phone (boy's and their toys!) After rescuing it (waited for him to pop to the loo!) I found the box contained: The phone (well doh!), stereo headset, instruction booklet, charger, USB cable, memory card, computer CD, guarantee and TV cable, They all came in a smart little black box.

THE PHONE
The phone measures 96.5mm x 46.5mm x 16.4mm and weighs a reassuring 123grams.

The phone itself is quite smart looking it comes in either silver or black and I chose the black one as I thought I would scratch the silver one quicker! When you first look at the phone even though it looks smart it doesn't look anything special but once you see the screen all lit up you realize it's actually quite good. The screen is very sharp and this is the bit that initially impressed me the colours are so bright and clear, compared to my previous phone it looks so much more up to date and smart. When the phone is closed you can just see the screen and below that 4 buttons and a big button in the middle, the 2 lower buttons are the standard green and red buttons that are on most phones to answer and finish calls. The only problem with the screen I can find is if you look at it in the sun light it actually looks dull and more black and white than the normal clear and sharp.

To get all the other number buttons you just slide the screen up this is very easy and doesn't seem to get stuck, when you do this the buttons also all light up. I must also add that the phone is quite heavy, I thought this could be a problem as I like to keep my phone in my pocket but actually I have found that it does feel quite reassuring.
GETTING STARTED

I would like to say before I even start telling you about setting up the phone that as you have guessed I am not a technical person I have a other half for that. But seeing how I upset him by nicking the phone back while he was on the loo he threw a typical man strop and told me to figure it out myself! So I decided to give it a go firstly I started to read the manual, which is actually quite good and straight forward even for techno phobes like myself.
I firstly charged the phone up which the manual said should take 3 hours well that was stage 1 over with and nobody died so on to step 2! This was the bit I wasn't looking forward to transferring all my phone numbers to my new phone. For this bit I had to use the computer CD which filled me with dread and I had images of blowing up both the computer and the phone but to my amazement this was really easy and straight forward I was actually quite proud of myself that I actually managed to transfer the information so easily! Obviously I had to use the USB cable to plug my phone into the computer and nothing blew up! I managed to transfer all the numbers with ease and I checked them all and they were all there (even the ones I didn't want like work!).

So then I had my numbers set up it was time to have a little play and get familiar with my new toy.
MENU

Now if you had recently had a Nokia phone you will be used to the lay out of this phone and the menu, the other half has got a older Nokia model and there doesn't seem to be much difference but for me I had a very old Samsung and the layout was completely alien to me. You can either access the menu by pressing the big black button in the middle of the phone this will bring up another screen and you have all the choices there. You navigate to which menu you want by using the silver arrows around the black button. You can also access certain bits of the menu from the main front screen down the left hand side, you have little icons and you can access the menu you want. If you miss a call or text then you will also get a little icon pop up on the front screen menu, once you unlock the phone it will tell you what you missed and who.
ANSWERING & MAKING CALLS

So I had all my numbers in the phone and had sorted my ring tone (very important!), answering a call is easy enough you don't have to slide the phone to answer a call, you just press the big button in the middle to answer I must admit I did get a bit confused and kept pressing the green button to answer and missed a couple of calls but I am now used to this.
Firstly I should add that before you can make a call or use the phone you have to unlock the phone you do this by pressing the big black button in the middle of the phone and then quickly press the top left button. This I can say is one of the annoying bits about this phone as sometimes it takes me a few goes at unlocking it as I sometimes I don't do it quickly enough and this can be a bit frustrating. You can add your own security numbers or sequence to unlock the phone but I haven't got around to this and knowing me I would still not get it right! The other way to unlock the phone is just to use the slide on the phone and this unlocks straight away.

To make a call you can either slide the phone down and input the phone number or if the number is in your address book you just press the right top blue button for the names in your address book and use the silver outline button to navigate to the number you want. Then you just press the green button to make that call, once you have finished talking you must press the red button to end the call. I got caught out a few times at first with this as I thought that just closing the slide would end the call but this is not the case.
The battery life for this phone isn't bad, I use my phone quite a lot for work and personal calls and I tend to charge it every couple of days. You get up to 6 hours talk time can't say I have timed it and couldn't think of anyone I would want to speak to for 6 hours!!!

The only slight criticism I have is it doesn't give you any warning when the phone is out of charge, you can see the little battery symbol going down on the screen but there is no beep to remind you so then the phone will just die.
CAMERA

The camera has 3.2 megapixel and 8x zoom with a double LED flash, to start using the camera you can either access the option from the menu or there is a quick start camera button on the side. To take a picture you just hold the screen side of the camera towards you and when you are ready to take the picture just press the big black button, you can also zoom in and out. It has taken a few goes for me to get used to the camera, I initially had lots of photos with peoples eye closed! I did finally get a good picture of my boys and have used this as my wallpaper, which was surprisingly easy to do (I wanted to have the dog but the boys thought this was unfair!).
The quality of the pictures is surprisingly very good and it's quite handy to have such a good camera on my phone as I can now snap happily away without having to run off for my camera. Also this phone also comes with extra memory so if the 20 mbytes that comes with the phone isn't enough then you also get an extra option to have 4 gbytes.

The video option is also quite good and I have had a play with this, the pictures are good quality and I am sure I will use this more when I am on holiday. I have also found it easy to transfer my pictures onto my computer and have now built up a nice file to look at, you can also view your pictures or videos on the T V using the cable that comes with the phone and this is also easy to do and a nice touch for you to show off your pictures.
Some other information for you if you are into that kind of thing is that you can use this phone for video calls it also supports Adobe software and video streaming.

MUSIC
The phone comes with an integrated FM radio which is really easy to find on the menu and is also good quality sound wise, you can also save your favourite radio stations so you can just pop onto them when you want. You can also listen to the radio and interact with the on screen information; this is provided by the radio stations and is a nice touch. The headphones that come with the phone are quite good quality but you can always buy your own if you want better ones.

You can also enjoy MP3, MP4, AAC, EACC+ and WMA formats, don't I sound knowledgeable! The phone also supports polyphonic, MP3 and video ring tones, Sorry to disappoint but to be honest I don't understand most of that last bit but the more technical among you may find that information useful! It is also possible to access the internet to search for new music and download or information and I have had a little play with this and found it quite easy to do.
I can say from experience though that downloading you're music files onto the phone is really easy, it's just basically connecting the phone to the computer and using the drag and drop, it really is that simple. You can also use you're music for ring tones and text alerts which is great for me, this is again easy to set up on the phone and can be accessed through the menu. You can also download ring tones if you want but I can honestly say I haven't felt the need to do this yet. I have also noticed that the quality of the music is still very good even when using it as a ring tone and I have also managed to set the phone so I have different ring tones for different people so I can tell who is phoning from the ring tone rather than having to look at the phone.

TEXTING
To be honest I hate texting! By the time I have spelt out everything I want to say I could of made 10 phone calls! The other thing I hate is pre-empt texting, half the time I don't know what I want to say so how can my phone make that any easier!

The text option on the phone can be accessed from either the main menu or the quick menu option on the front of the phone; you have all the usual suspects here including a very simple way to turn off that bloody annoying pre-empt text (so that's me happy then!). You can also send and receive pictures, which I couldn't on my old phone so this is a new and great addition for me.
You can also access your e mail including those with attachments, I have to admit that I finally had to go cap in hand to the other half and get him to show me how to do this. I don't know why I bothered though it is actually quite easy although I don't really use it that much it will come in handy when I am on holiday.

One thing I have used a bit is the on line messenger or MSN as I know it! This is really good and easy to use and believe or not useful but obviously you have to be online to use it.
The only thing that niggles me with the texting is my old phone used to come up with a big message telling me that my message had been sent but with this phone you get a tiny icon that if you squint you will see it!

GAMES
I nearly forgot one of the important bits of the phone the games! Seriously the phone comes with high roller casino, golf tour; rally 3D and the most important Snake 3!!! The games are all good quality and of course you can download your own as well.

HANDS FREE
As I have already mentioned I use my phone a lot for work so I am always getting phone calls, I do try not to use my phone in the car because I really get fed up with talking and driving but on occasion I will be waiting for an important phone call and will have to use the hands free. This phone does come with an ear set but I wanted one that didn't plug into the phone I really wanted a wireless one. So the other half got me one to use and I can actually say once I got used to it (I have finally stopped cutting people off!) it really has become a godsend, it works really well and I haven't had any technical problems.

OTHER INFO

These are things I really haven't used yet on the phone and to be honest can't see me having a use for,
Two way 3G video calls, TV conferencing, walkie-talkie style talking, flight mode button which you use when in a mobile banned area this will automatically turn off the phones transmission related features and activities.

It also has the following features: calendar, to do list (like I need one of these!), alarm clock, notes, stop watch, countdown timer, calculator, voice commands, WAP browser, opera mini browser, quad band technology (GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800 & GSM 1900), video streaming.
PRICE

As I have mentioned I got this for nothing due to my upgrade but I did see it on sale in the Orange shop for £149.99. I can guarantee that you can pick it up cheaper than that on line.

AM I HAPPY WITH IT?
I can actually say once I got over my fear of using this phone with all its computer stuff I can actually say hand on heart that I am very happy with it. I have actually since buying the phone looked up some reviews and if truth be told I did read quite a few negative ones but I can only say what I have found and that is that apart from a few small snags I am really happy with it. And the other half is also quite impressed that I worked it out myself (well me, the manual and the internet!). I apologise to all the more technical minded people on this site I can't give you all my opinions in technical jargon but only in technophobe English!

Nokia n73

Everyone has something that they are into, not so much a hobby but an interest - say for instance most men like gadgets, most women like shoes and handbags. I would say that mine is toiletries and cosmetics which I think is probably reflected in a lot of the reviews I have written on Ciao. Ask me a question about the latest perfumes on the market or who makes Airflash foundation and I am pretty sure to know the answer however ask me anything about technology and gadgets and I am quite useless!
Luckily for me my fiancé Dave loves his gadgets and anything technological so if I ever have a query about what MP3 player I should get or what the best kind of stereo system is he is usually on hand to answer my questions. It is him I have to thank for my latest technological purchase - my new mobile phone.

I don't have much luck with mobiles - the last two I bought have been broken by a friend of mine who has a tendency to be a bit unsteady on his feet and has spilt drinks over them. Now this has happened to me on a few other occasions and I have managed to rescue my phone after drying it out in the airing cupboard but for some reason this particular person always manages to kill them off. He is like poison for mobiles!
After he broke the last phone which I had only bought three weeks previously I was given a handset by a friend to use as I couldn't afford to buy another one. This is one of the pitfalls of Pay As You Go mobiles - if you break or lose the phone you have to pay for a new one. Admittedly I could've claimed for the breakage of the handset via my house insurance but by time I had paid the excess it really wouldn't have been worth it.

As much as I really appreciated the Nokia 3220 my friend had lent me after my old phone went swimming in a pint of lager I had started thinking about getting a new phone anyway. This was mainly due to the rise in popularity of camera phones. Even though it had a camera, the quality of the pictures were pretty poor and whilst all my friends were showing me pictures on their phones when I tried to show anyone pictures on mine they could never work out what it was I was trying to show them because the picture quality was so rubbish.
I decided that I would try and save up some cash and when I had saved enough I would get myself a nice new handset - obviously keeping it out of my friends reach, we don't want anymore drink related accidents. I started looking at the newer handsets on the market to try and work out which one I might like to get.

For as long as I can remember I have always owned Nokia handsets. There was a very brief period where I had a Sony Ericsson phone but I really didn't like it, I couldn't get on with the menus and I found it very, very frustrating to use. It was then I decided I was never going to stray from my trusty Nokia's ever again.
After much deliberating I decided to purchase a Nokia N73 handset. I did consider getting an N80 but Dave has one of them and I found some of the buttons hard to use and found the phone itself rather bulky and so he suggested I try looking at the N73. After having a play around with somebody else's phone I decided that I really quite liked the N73 and quite fancied looking into getting one. I searched out for the best price and ended up getting a brand new Nokia N73 off Ebay for £140 a pretty good price as these particular handsets hold their price very well and can reach up into the £200 mark.

After I purchased it I couldn't wait for it to arrive so I could start playing about with it. Sure enough the day after my nice shiny brand new silver sexy looking mobile appeared at my door accompanied by a very friendly Postman. With the phone came a charger, data cable for transferring files to and from your PC, in ear headphones, a Nokia PC Suite CD ROM and an instruction booklet etc. To go along with these I also purchased from Ebay a 2Gb memory card to give me extra storage space for pictures, videos and music.
With a 3.2 megapixel camera the N73 has Carl Zeiss optics, 20x digital zoom, built in flash, macro mode and autofocus along with a host of other optional settings. With a mechanical shutter the phone is capable of printing out real photo quality prints of up to 10" x 8" (25 x 20cm) via an attached printing device.. The phone has a large 2.4" display, integrated stereo speakers with 3D sound - you can even upload your pictures onto the Flickr photo sharing internet community. The camera is so easy to use too - all you need to do is slide back the cover and then point and shoot using one button on the side of the phone. You also have the option of taking videos by switching the settings to video mode using a simple menu and one touch button option. Your pictures and videos are then stored in easily scrollable photo albums which are easy to look through.

The camera not only houses one but two cameras - it has the regular camera on the back but also a front facing lens which you use for video calling but can also be used for taking pictures of yourself - no more trying to aim in your direction when you can't see what your doing if there is nobody else available to take a picture. This is a feature that I find quite handy though I will say the photo quality using the front facing camera isn't quite as good as the rear one.
I was slightly worried that this phone would be too advanced for me as I have very basic knowledge of mobiles with high specifications and am used to having a brick which can only just about ring and text people but I have found it really easy to use. The menu options are laid out really well and it is easy to get used to the way the all the various features work. The picture quality is really good, images come out looking sharp and crisp even for an amateur like me and with the added autofocus you don't end up with blurriness on the pictures.

The phone also has a built in digital music player and stereo speaker. You can transfer your music onto the handset using the Nokia Music Manager application which is part of the Nokia PC Suite, just attach your phone to your computer using the data cable and you can move music, pictures, numbers etc from phone to PC or vice versa. This again is so simple to use - if a total technophobe like me can do it without assistance then it must be easy! The phone supports MP3, WMA and AAC and also has an FM radio with visual radio function which can display information about the artist and track playing, handy for that annoying record you don't know the name of but really, really like.
I really don't tend to use my phone for listening to music as I have a separate MP3 player for that but I know I should really try and utilise the music features more often as it seems silly that I am not making the most of them.

This phone which is a 3G smartphone is one of the lightest versions available on the market, it is the bigger brother (or sister) of the Nokia N70 but is thinner and weighs less at 116g. It still retains the square shape of the N70 with a regular keypad, large screen and a central joystick. The keys could possibly be difficult for larger fingers, so this may be better suited to a lady rather than a man some users also have problems with the joystick however luckily for me I only have very small hands so I haven't encountered any problems so far.
The internal memory of the phone is 42 megabytes which has been increased from the previous model and as I mentioned previously you can buy removable mini SD cards to increase your memory size. Something that you need when you can record videos of up to 90 minutes long.
This phone is packed with high spec features. For example the screen display is not only very large but also boasts an amazing 240 x 370 pixel resolution and 262,000 colours making it one of the best of any smartphone.

As I am still getting used to this phone there are lots of features that I haven't really used yet such as the inbuilt office, web browser to connect to the internet, IM Instant Messenger, Flash Player, Lifeblog. In fact there are so many features I can't actually remember them all and probably will still be finding stuff out about this phone in months to come!
Personally one thing that has really surprised me is the battery life of this phone, it seems to last for ages. I use my phone regularly and the battery lasts a good 2 - 3 days without a charge, it doesn't take long to charge the phone when it requires it either.

The only problems I have encountered is that occasionally the N73 does freeze up and sometimes switches itself off which can be annoying if you are in the middle of something. However Dave has made me aware that there is an update available for this phone and hopefully once we have loaded the update onto the handset some of these problems will be rectified.
Available in 3 finishes - silver, black and plum I think this phone looks really stylish. Since I got it a number of people have commented on it and said how nice it looks, I have also had very positive comments about the picture quality on photos I have taken using the camera.

There is an inbuilt tutorial which explains some of the main features of the phone which I have found quite helpful. It is good to know that if you really get stuck then you can refer back to it for guidance and help - especially as you're not likely to carry the full instruction manual around with you (well not unless you are totally sad of course).
I won't list all the full technical specifications as they aren't really very interesting and I don't want people to think I am trying to bulk up my review with them. They are easily obtained by doing a google search on 'Nokia N73 Technical details' if you so wish to find them out.

Obviously you can do all the basic things using this phone - send text messages, send picture messages and photos……you can even make and receive calls on it - Wow! I hear you gasp!
I absolutely love this phone - not only does it look nice, doesn't weigh a ton and is easy to use for simpletons like me but it has lots of great features and a fantastic camera. I would certainly recommend it to anyone who is looking at a newer phone but doesn't want to commit to purchasing the Nokia N85 or N95. This has almost all of the same features and looks just as good. I personally think that this would be a fantastic phone from the N Series for a lady as it is more streamlined and less bulky than some of the other phones in the series.

I would award this phone 4.5 out of 5 - it loses half a point because of the current problem where it freezes and switches itself off. However I am hoping that when we run the update on it then it'll stop the problem and then it will deserve a full 5 marks

Nokia 6300

Nokia is the best of the best when it comes to phones, that is of course just my opinion, and you are entitled to yours.
Sleek, modern design complete with stainless steel cover; 2Mp camera with 8 x digital zoom; MMS; Video player and recording too.

The weight of this phone is 91 grammes, which is heavy for todays market, but there is something solid about this model, the weight actually helps to reassure you that you have a quality product.
The construction is of plastic of course, but also a lot of it is stainless steel, again making it durable to the point of being almost bullet proof. The buttons are large enough, and just far enough apart to make it easy to use. The screen is one of the biggest you will find, very good for those of us with "close up vision problems".

As for the camera, there has to be a better way of marking this feature, we all know that the more mega pixels there are, the better the picture, however, this phone is only two mega pixels, and the pics are brilliant. I feel sure that one day there will be a different way of deciding the quality, and some camera phones are a lot better than other, no matter what amount of pixels they have. This camera phone has a 4 X zoom lens too, which was impressive. I musr admit that there are also features like "night mode" which I still have yet to get to grips with.
The FM radio function is very good, nice clear reception, but of course you require the earphones to be in use, as this acts as the aerial. Nokia has always been accused of not supplying enough memory, and some of their phones have no memory slot, I was pleased to find that this one does though.

The phone has bluetooth of course, and I have had no problems with it, although there is no infra-red for some reason, perhaps it is going out of date. This is a tri-band phone, so apparently god for any country.
The battery life is good for a modern phone, it depends of course on what settings you use and how much use it actually gets, charging is pretty quick too, so if in doubt you can stick it on charge for ten minutes and be confident it will not die on you. The battery is actually the same as a lot of other Nokias, so I can always swap to my old battery.

My phone is special, I know it and I like it, I am at the stage where I can use it without looking at the keyboard. I would recommend this sturdy little marvel to all.
