Google Webmaster Tools Search Query Reporting Bug Will Normal Soon

John mueller confirmed that they are aware about this and expecting report to return to normal in the coming days” as Google’s Webmaster Tools search query reports has bug now.

The Google Webmaster tool stopped showing data on September 23rd. This came shortly after Google stopped passing virtually 100% of referrer data to webmasters. Google implied the bug was unrelated and promised to fix it soon.

I currently am able to see data from September 25th and going back, so this is a two day improvement from when the bug was first reported.

Finally Google Keyword Tool is no longer available, replaced with Keyword Planner.

Yatra.com’s offline site impacts Rs. 20 – 30 crore in sales

Salman Khan’s stake company Yatra.com has forgotten to renew the domain registration. The domain name had been registered on August 9, 2000, and expired on August 9, 2013. Now it’s still showing offline for most of the ISP’s, Yatra.com official Facebook page claims that now they are back on reliance network and working on for other ISPs, according to travel industry expert Yatra.com shutdown could have cost to the company between Rs. 20 – 30 crore in sales. It’s total failure of technical team who ignored the email alert for same.

Initially I couldn’t believe it that Yatra.com has forgotten to renew the domain. It seemed that someone is behind the whole story that to create a nuisance to get free publicity as breaking news in Industry. Even now everyone is talking about same Including on social media sites also. Now it’s breaking news for industry. It was a good strategy to be in News but Now (12-Aug-2013, 11:30 PM, IST) Yatra.com is still offline. It’s total failure of technical team.

It was really unexpected as Yatra.com is a big Travel brand in India.

Google Penguin 2.0 Update is Live on May 22^nd 2013, update was announced by Matt Cutts. About 2.3% of English-US queries are affected to the degree that a regular user might notice world-wide. However based on Matt Cutts we don’t know exactly what changes has been made so far. This was the fourth Penguin-related launch by Google and we’re referring as Penguin 2.0 update so far. Today, Google has announced that Google Universal Analytics opens to all Google Analytics customers.

Universal Analytics, which uses a different collection method and hence involves the setup of a new code snippet on the businesses’ sites, focuses on giving online businesses a better understanding of how their customers interact with their sites across multiple devices. This new JavaScript code snippet, Google notes, is more flexible than the old one and gives users more options to customize their data. Businesses will also have to set up a new web property in their Analytics accounts to get started with using Universal Analytics.

The new tools offered by Universal Analytics via the new Measurement Protocol (an API that enables you to send your data to Google Analytics) can help you measure the how people actually become and remain loyal customers,” Google said at the time.

Analytics now includes Change History, a list of user activities in Analytics so you have a record of who did what when. For example, on Monday, January 7, at 14:28:25 PDT 2012, UserA@gmail.com created the new profile User A’s Profile.

There is a new Change History tab at the account level, alongside the Data Sources and Account Settings tabs.
The Change History lists:

Date column: The date and time of the activity
Email column: Which Analytics user performed the activity
Activity column: The Analytics object (e.g., account, user, profile, goal, filter), and what activity was performed on the object (e.g., added to account, created, deleted)

Google on Tuesday launched a long-anticipated “Drive” service that lets people store photos, videos, and other digital files in the Internet.

It's a synonym (LSI) Latent Semantic Indexing is one specific algorithm that the search engines use to evaluate site content through related keywords.

So what does this mean for you as a site owner? Well, suppose you’ve built up a page that revolves around the keyphrase “how to get six-pack abs”. In order to score high on the search engine rankings, you’ve used this exact phrase repeatedly throughout your text, without using any related phrases, like “how to get a flat tummy” or “how to tone your mid-section”. If a search engine robot using an LSI algorithm visits your site, it won’t be able to get a good feel for what your site is about since you’ve focused on only one keyphrase.

Whether you’re updating old content or working on new text for your sites, it’s important to vary the keywords you use to create more natural-sounding copy. If you’re having trouble thinking up keyword or keyphrase variations, you can use Microsoft Word’s synonym feature (simply right-click on a word and scroll down to “synonyms” to see more options) or consult an online or offline thesaurus. For example, a keyphrase like “SEO tools” could also be written as “SEO products”, “SEO courses” or “Search engine optimization ebooks”, depending on what your content is about.

However, it’s important to keep in mind that no one knows exactly what the search engine algorithms are, and we are dealing with software, not humans, so it’s still a good idea to include several repetitions of your target keyword or keyphrase. I still recommend including your target keyphrase enough times to reach a keyword density of 2-5% (which means you can pretty much write naturally). This will ensure that your site gets ranked for the specific phrase you’re targeting while still compensating for the new changes in semantically-related word algorithms.

Since the search engines will reward you for writing naturally and not forcing keywords and phrases, I suggest you just write naturally. Make sure the keywords and phrases you’re targeting are in your content, but don’t go overboard.

Google has officially announced that they will be permanently shutting down Google wave on April 30, 2012, Google has sent out an official email detailing what it plans on doing.

Dear Wavers,
More than a year ago, we announced that Google Wave would no longer be developed as a separate product. At the time, we committed to maintaining the site at least through to the end of 2010. Today, we are sharing the specific dates for ending this maintenance period and shutting down Wave. As of January 31, 2012, all waves will be read-only, and the Wave service will be turned off on April 30, 2012. You will be able to continue exporting individual waves using the existing PDF export feature until the Google Wave service is turned off. We encourage you to export any important data before April 30, 2012.
If you would like to continue using Wave, there are a number of open source projects, including Apache Wave. There is also an open source project called Walkaround that includes an experimental feature that lets you import all your Waves from Google. This feature will also work until the Wave service is turned off on April 30, 2012.

Classic : Shows your most recent messages at the top of your inbox
Important First : Only important messages appears on top (including reads and unread messages)
Unread first: Puts all unread messages at the top of your inbox ; everything else at the bottom
Starred First : Starred messages appear at the top; everything else at the bottom
Priority Inbox : Important and unread messages appears on top, then starred messages and then everything else.

You can choose any style from tabs at the top of your inbox and use it for a week, then those tabs will go away. You can always switch back to your inbox style anytime by selecting it from Inbox labels’ drop down menu.
