Despite Britney and the Arctic Monkeys being in 2 different genres they do work excellently well together and more should be done imo with The Arctic Monkeys tracks….they have enough to work on.

Sam998899 doesn’t know much about my show and I know this as fact as he never seems to acknowledge anything I put on his website about playing his stuff. I am unsure where you can get this track as his website seems to have changed and I cant seem to be able to find it anymore but I do see people complaining.

Bobby Martini is some more hidden talent from Britain who has managed to make loads of mashups that always seem to be kept on my iPod. On this track he has mashed up a Crowded House hit called Mean To Me and One Republic’s top hit Apologize, which gives us Apologize to Me.

Don’t You Ever Give Up Wanting Me Baby has The Human League and Rick Astley in a cheesy pop song that just begs to be played over and over again. This was originally released around December 2008 on the bootie blog here, which is probably how I found it originally.

Tizwarz has worked on his Encore Party track again and released a 2009 version. The track has been online for a while but its still a classic mashup and a personal fave of mine.

I wasn’t actually going to play an Ace of Base track at all today but there was a request made and in radio style I had to fulfil that request. As I don’t play “normal” tracks I had to quickly search for a mash and found this one from DJ Gauffie. I am unsure where he hails from…his website ends in .se so its up to you to guess lol….anyway the track is great and well put together, as are most of his tracks.

Rhythm Scholar, like most of the people who’s tracks I play on my show, is very talented. I am quite surprised how much talent is out there on the mashup scene and yet it still gets ignored or cast aside. As someone said to me today on facebook:

I love the music, it breathed new life into old stuff.

The same can be said for this remix of Another One Bites The Dust….not only does it feature Queen but it also includes tracks from Lyn Collins, Rob Base, Barry White, Spin Doctors and more. Rhythm Scholar himself is quoted as saying:

“This is one of my favourite funk-rock songs. I have coupled it with a lot of other funky and odd sources to create this version. It comes completely with new beats, breaks, edits, stutters, bassline & a dose of my brand of turntable terror! How many music samples can you spot?”

…which can be downloaded from here along with many of their other tracks. Official word on this mash is as follows:

Taylor Swift has been someone I’ve been wanting to mash for a while now, and when I heard her latest release, I felt it was finally time.
One problem came up when mashing the essence of her voice in this track… She has 2 equally brilliant possible partners to sing to you with!

Thanks to that factor, even though I’ve only ever wanted to have one released version of any song, I have ended up partnering her with both Blake Lewis in a genre-bent up-tempo version of this hit, and then with Avril Lavigne in a chillout mix that will get anyone swaying along to the sound,
(They are currently both counted as my 40th released mash, so you tell me which you think is better so I can decide which to un-release lol)

The one I played has the sources mentioned above but there is another version which uses Blake Lewis track How Many Words but I personally preferred the Avril version. In time I will play the Blake Lewis version.

Both Kings come together on this track thanks to Voicedude and its one of the funny yet genius mashups that I end up keeping….maybe turn it into a ringtone lol?

The tracks are Black and White by Michael Jackson and the Elvis Presley track is Little Sister.
