I’m heartbroken that the efforts to “pass on the reins” seems to have stalled, and hasn’t been touched since last year.

Are there any thoughts towards revival, or should I just let dead dogs lie?

Provost Dr. Palazzo is making efforts to leave RPI:

With respect to the faculty senate he suspended as newly appointed provost in 2007, he apparently stated:

“I don’t envision this same problem at any university in the U.S.”

What is that supposed to mean?

To give my good friend Bruce some solace (& joy) I’d like to share w/the rest of the Faculty that appreciated him & what he stood for, that it looks like there is a new proposal for Bruce’s nemesis’ nickname:

“Dr. Jack-AS”

This was inspired by an article in the Oct. 29 issue of The Chronicle of Higher Education, titled “Move Over, A-Rod and J. Lo. Meet A-Gut, G-Span, and J-Sex” (visit link below), although I really think this one beats them all!

Rejoice, Bruce, her name was naturally destined to such a wonderful nickname!

I was told today that I had to CROSS THE STREET when I went to smoke on the city sidewalk. I told the RN of Colonie where the incident took place that the sidewalk was city property. She ignored me. I’ve been covering zoning board meetings for years, and I had to bite my tongue, but should she ever say anything to me again regarding it, I will have to inform her that she should read the policy. I’m irked, I don’t toss my butts on the ground, and she was in the wrong.. crossing the street when it’s not necessary puts me in danger, particularly because of a visual disability that I have.

Of course it’s appreciated, but those football players also pay her $1.6 million compensation every year. A few hundred bucks on a bike is a drop in the bucket even though she deserves praise for her generosity.

The problems people have are with the general feel of going to school at what seems more like a corporation than a university.
