The meantime, that period between something begun or anticipated and its successful completion or fulfillment, is often frustrating but always important. When we’ve done everything we know to do and it’s just not working, when it takes longer than we thought and is more difficult than we imagined; how we think, what we believe and how we conduct ourselves will have a direct impact on the outcome. The Bible is filled with battles won and lost by action or inaction during the meantime.

Are you struggling in a meantime in your health, marriage, finances or career that seems like it will never end? Are you weary, frustrated and discouraged? God is in the midst of your meantime. Acknowledge Him and trust Him. He will surely bring you through it His way and in His time to greater blessing, provision, victory and success than you could ever imagine.

Please invite your friends, co-workers, neighbors…. it’s going to be a great day. And then next — this year Christmas day falls on Sunday. As a part of recognizing that ROCK Church is all about family we have to decided to have a family Christmas Eve (eve) service. So, in place of our traditional Sunday morning service we will come together for one service on Friday, December 23rd at 7pm to worship, have communion and reflect on the Gift of Jesus during this Christmas Season. It will be a shorter service geared towards the entire family, so bring the kids.

Offer to mow your neighbor’s grass next time you are out doing your own.

Organize a community yard sale to raise money for a special cause or, even better, another neighbor in need.

We see the employees of our neighborhood grocery stores nearly every day. Take time to say a few words to the guy stocking produce as you pick out your tomatoes, or engage in some light chit chat with the clerk while checking out your groceries. Learn their names and make a point to say hello. You’ll be surprised how much you can light up their day — and your’s.

CHALLENGE #2
Get to know that neighbor you haven’t met. Make a batch of cookies or bring them some fresh potted herbs. Feel awkward just walking up and knocking? Start by leaving your gifts on their front porch with a kind note. Eventually, it will lead to a face to face conversation, and quite possibly one of your most rewarding relationships.
