Nope, that's not how it becomes believable. The unbelievably complex human body came from a slightly less complex body, which came from a slightly less complex body, which came from a slightly less complex body ... etc :)

NB, this comment was initially caught by my spam filters. I decided to let it through with only a slight alteration (I removed the link to a website) because it was virtually on-topic and relevant.

Jennifer,
I do not particularly think that a threat of eternal punishment will convince non-believers of God's "eternal love". Shouldn't a belief be born of some sort of reasoning as Slugsie speaks of (although some might argue that as a divine body God is beyond human empirical reasoning) rather than a basically violent and hateful threat of punishment and pain which has been used throughout history to subdue people to the whims of leaders who abuse religion? Quoting scripture is hardly convincing especially when it is so underdeveloped by yourself and was written by fallible men who, because of their time were woefully ignorant of the world they lived in and only convinced by the God speaking to them in their head. I think it is great that you are so convinced of Christianity but one of the parts of this faith you subscribe to is to "spread the word of the Lord" rather than threaten people with it.

This was the third major earthquake in the island since it was colonized, and the two first occured during the french administration.

However, if the quake was a perfectly natural and expectable event that has nothing to do with the political choices of those people, it is clear that its impact on the population is agravated by the pre-existing lack of administration and economic network.
FYI, the scond quake did not cause a lot of damages because, after the first one, the french administration outlawed stone buildings in favor of more modest torchi (a mix of mud and straw, sorry, I don't know the english word for that), so three hundred years ago, they had working antisismic regulations, the images of Port au Prince in rumbles only shows that this wisdom was long forgotten.

I'm still fairly new to catching SPAM, and this blog has been mercifully free of the stuff, I maybe get a dozen a week at the moment, and it pretty much all gets automatically caught. Using the Captcha probably stops the simple stuff, then there are a number of backend plugins that I have that catch most of the rest. I all depends on what software you're using to run your site, and what plugins there are for it.
