The original version of 'Need Your Love' from RTJ & Elina made a huge impression in June, finding its way into the DJ bags of a diverse spectrum of artists. The single merged classy subtleness with festival sized sounds and featured a captivating vocal from newcomer Elina. Now, Quartz Lock presents new versions for the mid-summer crowds that offer even more possibilities for this dance floor anthem. Remixes come from a new crop of rising talents including: Wesley Dysart, Eric M., Dub Mechanics, and Kash Trivedi.

Leading things off on the remix EP is Indian producer Kash Trivedi's massive 'Goa Sunset' remix. This track contains all of the magical moments that define a summer time hit and is a must. But as an added bonus, there is also a second remix from Trivedi. This version is much different - with a less intense groove than his previous remix and more of a focus on the ethereal elements of the original version. Los Angeles producer Dub Mechanics tries something completely different on his remix, a chunky peak hour techno dub with electro flourishes. The bass line is choice and the deeper elements scream after hours warehouse party for those who like to takes things a little darker and strip away the vocals. Atlanta producer and Steamtown Records owner Wesley Dysart gives the original a muted electro house rework that also includes a nice balance of pop and psychedelia that is highly original. South African producer Eric M. gets epic on the closer, with a huge sound system, peak hour remix. The vocals are isolated and the pauses dramatic, with a focus on the original's most progressive aspects. In the wrong hands this could be a disaster, but the hooks on here are memorable and the production crystal clear making this version a certified winner.

Quartzpeople are an emerging Dutch duo, their new imprint Quartz Lock Records is the mouthpiece for Rafi Levin and Vitor Fernandes, the two veteran artists who comprise Quartzpeople. Their mission is to bring a heavy injection of underground rock attitude and abrasiveness to the dance floor. The two originals on this EP - "A.D.D." and "E.C.G." are filled with chest thumping vibes, skippy beats, and firmly rooted sense of house music bravado similar to the kind found in dusty old jams like "Mentasm" and "Purposemaker".

A.D.D.

Corrosive acid stains a track that is laden with tough bass lines and the tightly wound melodies of a late night techno cut. The cut expands through layers of glitchy beats and extended tribal workouts to arrive at a place that recalls the renegade feeling of early techno and EBM. Levin and Fernandes keep the mood dance floor appropriate throughout, focusing on a gentle glide to anchor the maelstrom. There is always this sense, however, that the whole thing could pull the roof down on top of itself in a fit of protracted self-mutilation.

E.C.G.

"E.C.G." sounds like a long lost Belgian rave classic brought up to modern standards with ample amounts of the polyrhythmic percussion that dominates today's tracks. Add a menacing bass line that sounds like it was lifted from a sleazy old biker film and a few simple, yet effective, melodic elements and this track is guaranteed to inflict some heavy casualties on the dance floor.

1st track on the EP is Red Light District...well the title says it all....the dark corners of the of the Red Light District sometimes illuminated by Red Lights set a certain mood that is represented in this track. Has a groovy beat and very hypnotizing vocals that will grab a hold of you.
Next is Machine go Green...everybody needs to wake up and stop polluting, a very green track, with glitchy voices and strange ambiences and for the bonus on this EP is End of the Year.. a progressive track that builds and builds all the way to the end...guranteed to move you around!!!

Hello everyone!!...its been about a month since our last update...and all for good reasons!. We are very happy to announce the launch of Quartz Lock Records. Yes the long awaited out let of fresh new electronic music is now up and running!!..new site will be up and running in the new year!...we promise ;)

F&F are Dusan Potrc and Sami Forzinetti who met early this year while pursuing their studies in Audio Engineering and both discovered that they had a mutual love for groovy, sexy minimal techno sounds. Dusan, already having played in numerous locations throughout Europe, and Sami, raised in Bali, Indonesia, and having played at large locations through out Asia, bring a dynamic, fresh new look on minimal as we know it, playing more underground sounds, with a bit of a progressive twist to them. Here it is...our 3rd gathering at the infamous Winston Kingdom in Amsterdam. We are very happy to announce the return of Unwanted by Neighbours for the second time around. After their success at the last even it was clear that these guys will make a lot of noise in the future...an so it goes.
