Distributors of a revolutionary design of high quality, eco-friendly Swiss electric motorcycles, Quantya UK Ltd, are actively seeking entrepreneurial partners interested in launching Hire and Ride Dirt Bike Centres here in the UK through a new, flexible franchise scheme.

Many such ‘QuantyaparX’ are already operating successfully around mainland Europe and Quantya UK is now rolling out the proven format in Britain to interested parties after extensive and testing of the bikes in the UK and a very positive response from people all over the country. Typically operators will be landowners, councils, leisure sites, theme parks, holiday camps, bike or quad parks or outdoor action sports centres. This is the unique opportunity of a franchise, with an attractive start-up package aimed at keeping a potential partner’s costs low and yet offering a realistically attractive and proven, income stream with a fast return on investment.

While you supply the venue and run the operation, Quantya UK Ltd will provide promotional support, train your staff, provide spares and technical assistance, and ensure the success of an exclusive franchisee network nationwide.

“Quantya’s motorcycles are one of the most exciting and practical products to hit the UK sport and leisure market in this new, eco conscious age,” said Ian Mitchell-Innes, director of Quantya UK Ltd. “A single Quantya electric bike can easily generate sales of £20,000 in less than six months, which, combined with low running and maintenance costs, means your income is highly attractive whether you start with four, eight or more bikes. Also, because they are virtually silent, you will never disturb the peace or annoy your neighbours, so they are perfect for holiday parks, as well as country and even inner-city locations.”

Quantya’s off-road model, the Track, is a surprisingly powerful, Swiss-made, high-performance, battery-powered motorcycle that is extremely easy to ride, making it ideal for those new to two wheels. However, while its twist ‘n’ go simplicity, predictable power and safe top speed is great for beginners, the Quantya Track is also suited to experienced off-road riders thanks to impressive acceleration, which sees it sprint to 45mph from a standing start in under two seconds. Disc brakes, quality suspension and superb balance add to the bikes’ appeal, providing impressive cornering ability, and for more advanced riders the ability to pull off wheelies and donuts with ease.

The Quantya Track affords its bike hire centres real flexibility as, with the use of a laptop computer, its power can be tuned to suit each rider’s preference for torque and engine performance. Quantya bikes are fully type approved, having passed all the required safety tests and meet all UK regulations. It is reliable, tough, and built for purpose. What is more, it is clean, silent, energy efficient and emission free, and with only nine moving parts it offers business owners an extremely low cost, low maintenance solution to vehicle hire.

“The Track model has proved reliable and popular in extensive testing over several years on many European hire and ride centres,” added Mitchell-Innes. “There is no clutch, no gears, no air filter and no oil, so it costs very little to maintain, while the battery is guaranteed for up to two years or 1000 recharges from mains electricity – two hours giving up to two hours ride time and costing less than 50p.”

“We are franchising QuantyaparX across the UK now for people to learn, have fun and ride safely,” continued Mitchell-Innes. “The format is simple and allows customers to ride and race with friends without even having to buy their own bike – and, most importantly, without disturbing their neighbours or damaging the environment, so planners have less reason to object, and insurance is readily available.”

Manufacturers of high quality, revolutionary electric motorcycles, Quantya, will display its acclaimed line-up of high-performance, eco-friendly machines at this year’s Carole Nash International Motorcycle and Scooter Show, which will take place at Birmingham’s NEC between 27th November and 6th December.

Having recently introduced two new models to the UK market, Quantya is keen to build awareness of its products and generate interest in its applauded machines over the ten-day period. In addition to its stand OR048 in hall 5, Quantya will also take a small fleet of bikes that the public will be able to ride as part of the show’s new, indoor, Off-Road Experience.

“We’re really looking forward to demonstrating the electric-powered Quantya bikes at what is the biggest annual motorcycle show in Britain,” said Ian Mitchell-Innes, director of Quantya UK Ltd. “We think it is important that people not only get to see, but also ‘feel’ the power and performance of our two new models. It is a great way for us to dispel the myths and express the progress and advantages of electric power, while also having fun with potential customers and the public.”

Quantya’s two models are both hand built in Switzerland using British-made electric motors and aimed squarely at a growing market of forward-thinking, eco conscious commuters and fun-loving adrenaline seekers. The Quantya Track is a dedicated off-road machine that has been designed to put the broadest smile on even the most experienced dirt biker’s face. The Quantya Strada is a softer, road-going trail bike that affords city commuters and weekend trail riders a stylish and practical alternative to a petrol-powered vehicle.

Comparable in size, weight and performance to a 125cc petrol bike, Quantya’s revolutionary machines are incredibly quick off the mark, yet extremely easy to ride. What is more they emit no harmful fumes, are virtually silent, and, with only nine moving parts, cost almost nothing to maintain and even less to run (the road legal Strada is even exempt from congestion charges and road fund licence).

Both models share common components and characteristics. Beneath the gleaming white bodywork lies a 48V Lithium Polymer battery that drives an axial gap DC brushed electric motor, which will accelerate to an impressive 42mph in just 1.9 seconds. To match the motor’s performance, Quantya has equipped each bike with quality suspension from Marzocchi (front forks) and Sachs (rear shock absorber), which is married to an aluminium linkage system and tubular steel frame. Tipping the scales at a mere 95 kilograms it is easy to see how Quantya has quickly established itself as the market leader in this tough sector.

“The road legal ‘Strada’ is years ahead of its competition, while its sibling, the strictly off-road ‘Track’, has already proved extremely reliable and popular after extensive testing in Europe’s bike hire and ride centres. It even placed third in a 24-hour race against 125cc petrol bikes,” added Mitchell-Innes. “Hence we are confident that when people actually get to ride these bikes at the NEC they will see for themselves how far this technology has come and quickly realise that what we are offering is a serious alternative to petrol-powered vehicles.”

Stunned by the power and speed of the bikes up and round the hillside track’s tight turns, and by the silent – and of course emission free - motor, riders stood and watched in sheer amazement eagerly waiting their turn to have a go amongst all the noise of the petrol bikes racing as well.

For those who did not get a go, we will be back another day with two more bikes – but we also look forward to more opportunities like this all over the country to demonstrate the Quantya Track. Thanks to all the guys at Green Valley though now for such a warm welcome – sorry we were short of time and only had one spare bike to bring this time.

Welcome to the future…

Inevitably, when you think about electric vehicles you think about small cars, hybrids, or fanciful prototypes wheeled out by the big automotive firms to please the masses at their industry’s all-important annual trade shows. But these have little to do with real world motoring, at least for the moment, and everything to do with generating column inches and positive press, useful only to those marketing directors looking to promote their company’s environmental credentials. Hence they fail to whet the appetite of those seeking a genuine, electrical alternative to the internal combustion engine.

Thankfully, though, there is a shining beacon of light on the horizon: Quantya.

Quantya’s high-performance, battery-powered motorcycles are not a fad, nor are they prototypes never likely to see the light of day. No, you’re looking at the future of commuting: a high-performance, battery-powered two-wheeler that’s available to buy, right here in the UK, right now.

With two models, both hand built in Switzerland using a British-made electric motor, Quantya’s bikes, a road-legal workhorse and a focused off-roader, are aimed squarely at a growing market of forward-thinking, eco conscious commuters and fun-loving adrenaline seekers.

Both comparable in size, weight and performance to a 125cc petrol bike, Quantya’s revolutionary machines are incredibly quick off the mark and yet easy to ride. What is more, they are virtually silent, emission free, and extremely economical to run.

The Quantya Strada is a road-going trail bike that affords city commuters a stylish and practical alternative to a petrol-powered scooter. The Quantya Track, on the other hand, is a dedicated off-road machine that’s been designed to put the broadest smile on even the most experienced dirt biker’s face.

As you would expect from a Swiss manufacturer, both the Strada and Track ooze quality and represent two well-developed, finished motorcycles that are being taken seriously within the two-wheel industry, where the appeal of no noise, no petrol, no fumes and low running costs (the Strada is exempt from both congestion charges and road fund licence) has proven very attractive.

“Quantya’s motorcycles are one of the most exciting and practical products to hit the UK sport, leisure and commuter scenes in this new, eco conscious, digital age,” said Ian Mitchell-Innes, director of Quantya UK Ltd. “Quantya bikes only have nine moving parts. There is no clutch, gears, air filters or oil, and therefore they cost almost nothing to maintain, while the battery is guaranteed to recharge 1000 times from mains electricity in under two hours, giving up to two hours ride time.”

Whilst the Strada and the Track are designed for totally different purposes, both share common components and characteristics. Beneath the gleaming white bodywork lies a 48V Lithium Polymer battery that drives an axial gap DC brushed electric motor, which will accelerate to an impressive 42mph in just 1.9 seconds. To match the motor’s performance, Quantya has equipped both models with quality suspension from Marzocchi (front forks) and Sachs (rear shock absorber), which is married to an aluminium linkage system and tubular steel frame. Tipping the scales at a mere 95 kilograms it’s easy to see how Quantya has quickly established itself as the market leader in this tough sector.

On Saturday Edward Briscoe and Eddie Basnett took a couple of the bikes off the track and up into the fields behind for the Greenlight TV crew to film them in action doing wheelies, donuts, and a whole lot more.

Then on Sunday Ross Flashman and Darren Shears rode the bikes on part of the track itself in front of the crowds and between the qualifiers and final rounds – they only rode a short section but it was just enough to give spectators an idea of what we hope to see next year – an electric race and MX series.

The weather was fabulous and the crowd were genuinely amazed by the Quantya bikes’ performance. After the roar of the petrol bikes they could not get over how quiet these electric bikes are, or how quick they accelerate and ride up hills and over the jumps (Ross and Darren could have ridden faster and flown over the jumps but they generously held back for the crowds to see and the cameras to film them both together – next time we will no doubt see the sparks fly as they take these bikes up to full speed). Well done guys and thank you all.

We would also like to thank the ACU and Brian Higgins and all his team for their phenomenal support and hospitality this season giving us the opportunity to introduce the electric bikes to the UK MX scene, and we look forward to working together next year and for the future of electric motorsport.

SKY TV
Watch out for these guys on their Quantya bikes – film coverage will be out on Sky TV very soon.

HIRE AND RIDE PARKS
We look forward to hearing from people who want to join us developing Quantyaparx around the UK now – to hire out Quantya bikes for people to ride and race electric – adrenaline, peace and quiet!

The Quantya Track was a custom bike modified to allow for quick and easy battery swaps which are normally not possible with the Quantya bikes.
