Jonah Hex is an eponymous Western comic book antihero created by writer John Albano and artist Tony DeZuniga and published by DC Comics. The right side of his face horribly scarred, he was an officer for the Confederacy during the American Civil War, fought at Gettysburg and is normally shown wearing a tattered Confederate States Army jacket. Hex is surly and cynical, but bound by a personal code of honor to protect and avenge the innocent and is in many ways similar to Clint Eastwood's Man with No Name (2 similar ongoing titles from Dynamite Entertainment are also posted here in Avaxhome by yours truly, complete). Jonah Hex had his first self-titled series that began in 1977 and lasted for 92 issues and which came to be known as Jonah Hex Volume 1. Aside from this, he also had a sci-fi-based eighteen-issue limited series that had scant recognition in the US but gained critical success and acclaim in the UK and elsewhere, plus three other miniseries under DC's Vertigo imprint. The current ongoing series, Volume 2, started in November 2005. The current issue concludes the six-part story arc "Six Gun War."

Haunt is a new ongoing series from Image Partners Robert Kirkman and Todd McFarlane. Created by both Kirkman and McFarlane the series is written by Kirkman, with layouts by Greg Capullo, Pencils by Ryan Ottley, and inks by McFalane. Haunt is a story about Daniel Kilgore, a Catholic priest, who is haunted by the ghost of his estranged brother Kurt, a murdered secret agent. I reserve my comments on this one.

I grew up on Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and I still have some of these old comics, the covers and pages crisscrossed with folds and creases, for we read and re-read them during those days, unlike now when comic books are encased in acetate and valued not for their content but for whatever price they might bring on eBay. Imho nobody can, or shall ever beat, the tandem of Lee and Kirby in portraying the original Marvel Superheroes in action. Highly recommended.
