It’s not easy to find good sites and blogs via serch engines or directories. A lot of this sites aren’t on first or second page in SERP’s but they bring us famous article and inspiration. I’ve been collecting interesting sites for a long time and I would like to share this part of huge list that I have. Simple Business Card Design Proces

Hi there! After long time (sorry, I was extremly busy and tired) I am back and I bring you some new and fresh article in next days. At first, I would like to show you my business card design process and I hope, it can help you or inspire you. This is not my true business card design. This is just my freetime work. My real and new business card design you will see soon

Step 1 – Work Document Setting Up

Okay, now if you know what would you like to create and you have idea about final design. Open your favourite software (GIMP, Photoshop, Corel or what you want). I am GIMP fun and user. It′s great application but there is one BIG disadvantage – there is no CMYK support. CMYK color mode is very important if you want to print the design. It′s your choice.

If you can, set up color mode to CMYK. If you cann′t, set to RGB (but this is not good for print). Set width to 8,5 cm and height to 5 cm. For printing is very important resolution of document. Good choice is 300 pixels/inch but if you are not sure, ask your print studio or someone who will print your design. That′s all. Go to step 2.

Step 2 – Background Design and Wireframing

You can see in the picture gradient that was created from two red colors with different brightness. It′s easy. Isn′t it?

Now create wireframes for everything what you need to put on card. You can see in the next picture just my two frames. One is background for my new logo design and the next one I will use like name and surname background in next steps.

Allright. Here are the logo design and name frame.

Step 3 – Text and Contact Informations

It′s easy. Just type all things that you need. I choosed white color for text because new pxforce.com site will be red and white too. Be patient and make sure that your typography is elegant. It′s not good idea to mix many different fonts, sizes, colors…

Okay! Now just add some words about business card owner and company. I typed there some of our services and skills. (in slovak language )

Yes, I know. This is not great business card. It′s just simple description of my business card design proces. As I wrote before, you will see my realy card design soon.

We (bloggers) are so busy and we have to looking for everything, what can help us and make it easier and faster. If you want to blogging more effectively, you will need some new and usable software or new features for existing or installed applications. I am one of the people, who are using many different softwares, gadgets and other. I switched to linux from windows and I was looking for best combination of browser, ftp manager and addons to them. After many hours of testing, installing and un-installing software, I can advise some Firefox Add-ons for all bloggers, who are busy as I am.

The All-in-One Sidebar is an award-winning sidebar control. It’s one of the most popular add-on.. It let’s you quickly switch between sidebar panels. You can check source code or list of extensions and downloads.

I can strongly recommend this add-on for sharing articles an news across many social networking and bookmarking sites. (Digg, Reddit, Delicious, Twitter, StumbleUpon…)

04. Read It Later
Read It Later allows you to save pages that you want to read later.

05. One-Click Installer for WP
This plugin allows you to add theme or plugin to your own Wordpress just by click. At first, you will download the plugin and than upload it to your blog. Simple but usable.

06. FireFTP
Easy to use, secure and free. This is FireFTP plugin for Firefox. It is good FTP client solution for you.

07. AdSense Notifier
AdSense Notifier displays your earnings on the status bar. You can easily check your AdSense effectivity and account balance.

08. Rank Checker
With Rank Checker you can see your blog ranks for any keyword in few seconds. This is good plugin if you are interested in your rankings and traffic building.

09. CoComment
Rock your connectivity with bloggers community! If you would like to stay tuned in many discussions on many different sites, this is something for you. You can easily view responds to article what you want.

10. TwitterFox
Best solution for every Twitter user. This is one of the best add-on for me. You can tweet or retweet so fast. You can insert URL of actual site and more.

How to create RocknRolla style web design

In this tutorial I’ll show you how to create RocknRolla style web design to final ready-to-code photoshop file.
I wrote something about my design preocess before. Today I jump right to PC. I have already idea about final design and i am going to show how can you make it in Photoshop.

OK, open Photoshop and download 960 grid system. This is my favourite web design framework.
This is screen of “960_grid_16_col.psd” from downloaded package.

As you can see, I added more guides and filled new areas by grey colors. Nothing complicated.

Next – I coloured it by colours that I found on RocknRolla movie poster.

Its time to apply first textures. There are thousands of free textures to download. You can google it to few minutes. As you can see, I changed bg colour of content part because it was very dark to apply some textures (in next steps)

I added some shadows (by brush) and brushes to header. As you can see I used eraser (one from “wet media brushes”) on footer.

Now I created the general part of header. I used “STENCILIA” font. Background is simple rectangle with texture. I am going to delete borders with pen tool.

Just by a Polygonal Lasso Tool I created some shadows between characters.

I added some textures to content part of design and finished “BLOGNROLLA” title.

I wrote some Lorem Ipsum texts and designed the date table and other posts elements.

I finished all parts of design. I added free RSS icon and free RocknRolla Twitter icon
I created some categories and archives too. Only for design sidebar.

RocknRolla style twitter icon tutorial

Twitter is one of favourites social communities (dont forget to follow me). Its easy to use and there are thousands web sites with twitter widget on internet. You can choose one of free twitter icons for your site or you can make your own. If you are looking for some inspiration how to create custom twitter icon, read more!

I love this movie!

At first, sketch your idea to paper. Its simple but important part of icon creating process.

Now finish details and make it ready to scan to computer.

Use the Pen tool to make paths. If you want to create vector illustrations you have to learn how Pen tool works.

Now fill large areas with grey colors. I often use grey colors because i can concentrate to draw nice shapes.

Details of the gun are drawn by grey colors too. I just use some gradients to make it more “3D”.

Now fill the grey colors parts with colors as you like.

Apply layer effect to layer with glasses. Use this settings:

To layer that contains body apply this layer effect.

Now, draw the tail and fill details with color. Draw sunglasses frame.
