Jimmy Somerville – founding member of Bronski Beat and The Communards is set to release a new EP with remixes from Fred Falke and Siriusmo.

Titled ‘Solvent” the EP is characterised by Jimmys falsetto voice and potent pop writing skill although there is a rumour Siriusmo is behind the production as well. At this stage we’ve only got teasers for everything BUT the remixes so expect something special from both a-grade producers.

Although its been a long time between hits “Smalltown Boy” and “Hit That Perfect Beat Boy” the singer/producer has been writing and releasing music for years now with this the most high profile within dance circles.

Expect the release May 28th.

YOWSA.  Our boy Zimmer really nailed it on this one.  There are plenty of solid mixtapes floating around right now but Zimmer’s “Sage Paradis | May Tape” is TOP NOTCH.  For anyone into slo-mo, deep, sexy disco + house, this mix is like a handbook of everything new & good over the last few months (along with some shiny hot-off-the-press gems).  I mean seriously…Zimmer absolutely nailed this one.  This mix is chock full of those “on repeat” tracks that you just can’t get enough of.  ”Hémisphère” by Paradis?  That’s in there.  ”If You Only Knew” by Finnebassen?  Yup, that’s in there, too.  ”Running From” by Moon Boots?  Yuh huh.  A Zimmer rework, some Le Youth, new Flight Facilities and some brand new Poolside?  Check, check, check and check.

When people talk about mixes with this style or vibe, they always seem to throw in phrases like “just in time for pool season” or “perfect for Summertime”.  Well fuck all that: LISTEN TO THIS MIX ANYTIME, ANYWHERE.  Daytime, nighttime, poolside, bedside – Zimmer’s horizontal disco mix will do you right.

Homemade studio videos from the Dada Life boys have to be some of the most entertaining assets that come through our inbox, and the latest episode from the Swedes takes a bit of a different direction that what we’ve previously seen from them. The guys have been hard at work in their studio, where Ollé has told us they get started early every morning rather than doing late night sessions like many other producers. Their new album is coming along, and they’ve asked their fans to chime in regarding whether or not to add vocals to the new production they’ve put together. Knife Party’s latest dose of epicness, the Rage Valley EP, was leaked today and I have the full EP for you. I have the four official tracks that are initially included in the EP’s tracklisting. Some people say there’s going to be a bonus track with the purchase of the EP but nothing official about that, just a rumour. As you can expect from KP, similar to their previous EP ‘100% No Modern Talking‘, dubstep + electro/house and now a bit of 110BPM! These guys (Rob Swire & Gareth McGrillen) dominate on a production level, it’s unreal, whatever they touch becomes anthemic and destroys dancefloors worldwide! The official release date is set for Sunday, May 27th!
