AI enthusiast, author, and business consultant Tom Frazier launched Slop Mop on Tuesday. The extension is free, requires no signup and is also available as open-source code on GitHub.

Unlike traditional AI detectors, Slop Mop does not try to determine whether a post was written by AI. Instead, it looks for patterns associated with poor-quality writing, regardless of whether a human or AI produced it.

How Slop Mop Identifies “Slop”

The extension uses nine indicators based on research from SEO firm Graphite Growth into writing patterns that appear more frequently in AI-generated content.

These include excessive hype, engagement bait, empty praise, overly polished lessons, flowery language, stiff wording, contrast-based definitions and posts designed to make users expand them while scrolling.

Slop Mop then uses additional questions to determine whether the content sounds like it was written by a specific person and whether it provides something useful to readers. Both factors can reduce the post’s slop score.

A separate question estimates whether an AI model likely drafted the content. However, that factor cannot trigger a flag by itself and can only reduce the score when the post otherwise appears to be human-written.

It Targets Bad Writing, Not Just AI Content

Frazier said the extension is designed to filter out low-value content rather than act as a conventional AI detector.

“Slop Mop flags poor human content equally to poor AI content,” Frazier told The Register, adding that AI-generated content can be good while human-written content can also be poor.

Posts that cross Slop Mop’s threshold can be flagged or hidden from a user’s LinkedIn feed. The posts are not deleted from LinkedIn and can still be reported through LinkedIn’s existing “Seems Like AI Slop” option.

The extension’s central question is whether a post is worth the reader’s attention.

Built as a Test for Jev

Frazier said his main reason for developing Slop Mop was to experiment with Jev, a probabilistic decision-making AI model from TypeSafe.

Unlike a chatbot, Jev is designed to make decisions for other software systems and is accessed through an API.

Frazier has open-sourced Slop Mop so developers can examine the project and experiment with Jev themselves.

Free Use Comes With a Daily Limit

Slop Mop currently operates through Frazier’s own Jev account and API key. To control costs, he has limited each installation to 250 analyzed LinkedIn posts per day.

Frazier said early usage has cost approximately $0.005 per user per day. He said he may reconsider the free service if the extension becomes widely popular.

For now, he is using the project to study Jev’s tuning parameters and build a dataset.

Frazier also said he could eventually expand Slop Mop to other platforms if enough users find it useful and the operating costs remain manageable.

The new setup is part of Pakistan’s New Tax Operating Model and is designed to reduce direct interaction between taxpayers and tax officials while limiting individual discretion in tax cases. The government had approved the model in principle in June.

Under the new mechanism, audit cases will be identified through a computerized, risk-based process instead of being selected by individual tax officers.

Once selected, cases will be automatically assigned to officers located anywhere in the country. The taxpayer will not be informed about the identity of the officer handling the case, while the officer will have no control over which cases are assigned to them.

The process will also separate the main stages of a tax case. One officer will conduct the audit, another will prepare the assessment, and a third will review the work before an order is issued.

This means a single officer will no longer control a taxpayer’s case from the audit stage through to the final decision.

Taxpayers will receive notices, submit responses, and attend hearings electronically through the FBR’s IRIS system. Physical verification or recovery, where legally required, will be handled separately by field teams.

The Finance Bill also provides a legal framework for faceless audits, assessments and appeals.

The update comes only weeks after the SUV was refreshed at the Chengdu Motor Show. It is also notable for Pakistan, where the T2 has only recently entered the market.

Jetour launched the T2 i-DM PHEV in July 2026, followed by the 2.0 XWD petrol variants in August. Local CKD assembly of the T2 i-DM also began earlier this month.

Exterior Design Gets a Cleaner Look

The facelift retains the T2’s boxy proportions but reduces some of its previous rugged styling elements.

The front now features round headlights connected by a full-width light strip, replacing the previous square units. Jetour lettering has also been moved higher onto the bonnet, while the bumpers are now more integrated and body-colored.

At the rear, the SUV retains its vertical four-point taillights but receives a redesigned spoiler, smoother D-pillar treatment and a revised bumper. Several previously black exterior components, including the wheel-arch flares, are now finished in the body color.

New Petrol and Plug-In Hybrid Powertrains

The Chinese-market facelift continues to offer petrol and plug-in hybrid powertrains.

The entry-level petrol model uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 184 PS and 290 Nm, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and front-wheel drive.

Higher petrol variants receive a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 250 hp and 390 Nm, along with all-wheel drive. The top version now uses an eight-speed automatic transmission instead of the previous gearbox setup.

The bigger technical change comes with the T2 i-DM PHEV. It retains a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 153 hp and 220 Nm, but its hybrid system now uses a single 307 PS electric motor and a one-speed dedicated hybrid transmission, replacing the previous three-speed DHT.

The PHEV is available with two LFP battery options:

Jetour claims up to 1,400 km of combined range under the CLTC cycle with the larger battery and a 70-liter fuel tank.

For comparison, the Pakistan-spec T2 i-DM currently uses an 18.4 kWh battery and has a claimed 90 km NEDC electric range.

Interior Gains More Technology

The facelift retains the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and 15.6-inch infotainment display, but the central screen now uses a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8255 processor, paired with 24GB RAM and 256GB storage.

The updated cabin also adds 10-way electrically adjustable seats, eight-point seat massage, a 23-speaker audio system, 256-color ambient lighting, a revised steering wheel, wireless phone charging and updated AI-based voice controls.

Driver-assistance technology has also been upgraded. Petrol models receive Chery’s Falcon 500 system, while the PHEV gets Huawei’s Qiankun ADS5 technology.

China Pricing

In China, the petrol versions of the facelifted T2 are priced between 149,900 yuan ($21,300) and 169,900 yuan ($24,100).

The PHEV versions are priced from 159,900 yuan ($22,700) to 179,900 yuan ($25,500).

Pakistan T2 Has Only Just Arrived

The facelift comes at an important time for Jetour in Pakistan because the current T2 has only recently been introduced locally.

The T2 i-DM PHEV launched at an ex-factory price of Rs. 12,795,000, while the 2.0 XWD costs Rs. 13,590,000 and the 2.0 XWD Dominator Kit is priced at Rs. 15,590,000.

Jetour also reported more than 1,000 bookings within 24 hours of the T2 i-DM launch. The company has already started local CKD assembly of the T2 i-DM.

The G500 is the larger of the two attachments and has been compared to a large camera lens. It is reportedly designed for situations such as concerts and bird photography.

The Magic9 Pro Max’s built-in periscope telephoto camera is said to offer an 85mm equivalent focal length. The G500 reportedly extends that reach by 5.88x, resulting in approximately 500mm.

Unlike digital zoom, the attachment uses additional optical elements to extend the camera’s reach. It clips around the phone’s camera module, making it a genuine optical telephoto converter rather than simply cropping the image.

However, its large size means it is not designed for everyday pocketable use. The G500 appears to be intended for situations where users specifically need a longer focal reach. It is also an official Honor accessory rather than a third-party product.

G200 Offers a More Portable Option

The second attachment, called the G200, is considerably smaller and offers an equivalent focal length of 200mm.

According to WHYLAB, Honor describes the attachment as being roughly thumb-sized. It measures 81mm and weighs 88 grams.

For comparison, last year’s Magic8 Pro 200mm attachment weighed 207 grams, making the new version more than half as light.

Other manufacturers are also exploring similar accessories. Vivo, for example, offers 200mm and 400mm attachments for its X300 Ultra.

Magic9 Pro Max Gets Two 200MP Cameras

The Honor Magic9 Pro Max itself is expected to feature two 200MP cameras as part of its imaging system.

The main camera reportedly uses a 1/1.28-inch sensor with an f/1.57 aperture, while the telephoto camera features a 1/1.4-inch sensor and an f/2.6 aperture.

Honor is also developing the imaging system in collaboration with ARRI, particularly for color processing.

The phone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset.

Pricing and Availability Remain Unknown

Honor has not yet revealed the price of the Magic9 Pro Max or the Photography Master Kit. The company has also confirmed that the camera kit will be sold separately as an optional accessory.

The stated 200mm and 500mm figures refer to the reach of the external attachments, rather than the native focal lengths of the phone’s built-in cameras.

The actual image quality produced by the G500 attachment also remains unverified until more testing becomes available. Honor is scheduled to officially unveil the Magic9 Pro Max in China on September 28.

However, the more significant development could be underneath the body. The sedan is being considered as a possible candidate for BYD’s first vehicle equipped with a solid-state battery.

Solid-State Battery Could Be the Bigger Story

BYD Executive Vice President Stella Li has previously said that a vehicle using the company’s solid-state battery technology will arrive in 2027, although she has not identified the model or confirmed when production will begin.

A luxury vehicle produced in relatively small numbers could provide a possible starting point for the technology while production remains expensive.

Most current EV batteries use a liquid electrolyte to transport lithium ions between electrodes. Fully solid-state batteries replace that liquid with a solid electrolyte.

The technology could potentially allow manufacturers to build smaller and lighter battery packs with higher energy density. It could also reduce some safety concerns associated with flammable liquid electrolytes.

However, solid-state batteries still face engineering challenges, including maintaining internal contact, durability and lithium growth that can damage cells.

BYD has not announced the sedan’s battery capacity, driving range or charging specifications.

Flash Charging Adds to the Speculation

One teaser image shows the Yangwang sedan alongside a BYD Flash Charging station. This has added to speculation about the vehicle’s battery technology, although the image does not confirm that the sedan will use a solid-state battery.

BYD already offers Flash Charging technology with its conventional Blade Battery 2.0, meaning the presence of the charging station alone does not establish a connection with solid-state batteries.

Solid-State Technology Is Moving Toward Production

Several automakers are developing or testing solid-state battery technology.

NIO already offers a 150kWh battery in some of its premium EVs, although battery supplier WeLion describes the pack as semi-solid-state because it still contains some liquid electrolyte. It therefore differs from a fully solid-state battery.

Mercedes-Benz has road-tested solid-state battery technology in an EQS, while BMW has tested all-solid-state cells in an i7. Toyota is also developing the technology and aims to introduce EVs using solid-state batteries in 2027–28.

BYD has separately said it plans to put its own solid-state battery technology into a vehicle in 2027, but has not identified the model.

What We Know About the Yangwang Sedan

The camouflaged sedan features a long and upright body, rear-hinged coach doors and a roof-mounted lidar sensor.

Yangwang has not yet revealed the interior or confirmed the vehicle’s final name, specifications, price or launch date.

The distinctive doors are likely to attract attention, but confirmation of a solid-state battery would make the sedan particularly significant for BYD’s next generation of EV technology.

Parking operations are being managed at 14 locations by the Directorate of Municipal Administration of the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI).

The locations include Daman-e-Koh, Shakarparian, Kohsar Market, Faisal Mosque, Lake View Park, New Blue Area, H-9 Bazaar, Japan Park, and the Diplomatic Shuttle Service.

The approved parking fee is Rs. 100 for cars and Rs. 50 for motorcycles across Islamabad. The charges were introduced under the Islamabad Capital Territory Parking Regulations, 2023, approved by the CDA Board.

The collected revenue has been deposited into the public exchequer. It is intended to help meet the costs of maintenance, cleanliness, security, traffic management, lighting, landscaping, and other facilities at parking sites.

The MCI has also outsourced digital parking operations to M/s Windsor Solutions for three years through competitive bidding under public procurement rules.

A cashless parking system with a live dashboard has been introduced to record vehicle entries and exits and track parking revenue in real time.
