Under the agreement, OpenAI engineers and Hacktron security researchers will jointly identify high-priority areas for testing. OpenAI will also expand Hacktron’s access to its most advanced AI models through its Daybreak Red program.

The partnership is part of OpenAI’s efforts to strengthen cybersecurity as AI systems become more capable and increasingly connect with external services.

OpenAI Expands Security Testing

The announcement follows several other cybersecurity initiatives introduced by OpenAI this week.

The company recently announced that researchers from Cathedral will work alongside its internal teams during its next security sprint.

OpenAI has also increased rewards under its Security Bug Bounty program to encourage independent researchers to discover and report vulnerabilities that its internal testing may have missed.

Why OpenAI Chose Hacktron

OpenAI said it became familiar with Hacktron through its bug bounty program, where the company’s researchers identified and disclosed security vulnerabilities.

Hacktron develops AI agents for code reviews, penetration testing, and red teaming. Its research has identified weaknesses involving interactions between applications, cloud infrastructure, and identity systems.

OpenAI believes this expertise will help it examine security risks that emerge when AI agents connect multiple services.

Hacktron CEO Zayne Zhang said the partnership would combine the company’s offensive security expertise with OpenAI’s advanced AI models to identify complex vulnerabilities across interconnected systems.

He also said effective cybersecurity increasingly depends on combining human expertise with AI-powered capabilities rather than simply expanding security teams.

The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi at the Railways Headquarters.

Speaking at the event, Bilawal said the need for a new hospital became clear during his visit to Chandka Hospital after being elected to the National Assembly from Larkana.

The project aims to provide clean drinking water to every household in the city within two years. Meanwhile, 50 percent of the Shahdadkot sewerage scheme has been completed, with the remaining work expected to finish next year.

The Sindh Food Authority (SFA) and Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan police conducted a joint raid after receiving a tip about illegal manufacturing activities at the property.

According to an SFA spokesperson and police officials, the premises were locked when the raiding team arrived. Authorities gained access to the property, seized the equipment and materials found inside, and sealed the premises.

During the raid, officials recovered counterfeit cooking oil and ghee products carrying the names of well-known brands, including Soya Supreme, Dalda and Habib.

The SFA spokesperson said heavy machinery had been installed inside the house to fill and package cooking oil and ghee.

Authorities also seized substandard loose oil, empty bottles, cartons, branded labels, sealing machines and other packaging materials used in the operation.

Initial investigations suggest that low-quality cooking oil and ghee were being packaged in counterfeit containers bearing the names of established brands before being distributed to shops across Karachi.

Officials said the factory operated during the day and remained closed at night.

The SFA and police have sealed the property and initiated legal proceedings against those involved in the illegal operation.

Police said further investigations are underway to determine how long the factory had been operating, identify those responsible and trace the distribution network supplying counterfeit cooking oil and ghee to shops across the city.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad alongside Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Akhtar said the policy was approved after lengthy consultations. It aims to raise auto sector exports from the current $200 million to $6 billion.

Exports Get Top Priority

Akhtar said policies for the auto sector had been made for the past 10 years, but exports never grew. This time, he said, a lot of work went into an export-focused policy, and vehicle exports have been given special priority.

Manufacturers that fail to meet their export targets will face penalties. Akhtar said the drop in car prices would mainly benefit the middle and upper-income classes.

To bring vehicle quality up to international levels, 45 additional standards have been added to the policy. Akhtar said this would place cars made in Pakistan among the best.

Bigger Push for Electric Vehicles

The adviser said the government is paying special attention to electric vehicles, as their importance has grown after recent tensions in the region.

The financing limit for electric vehicles has been raised to Rs. 10 million to encourage their use. Import duties on charging stations for electric vehicles have also been cut.

Akhtar said the new policy targets better vehicle quality, lower prices, wider use of electric vehicles, and higher exports. He also said large industries are a government priority, and the auto industry plays a key role in large-scale manufacturing.

In a judgment authored by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, the court stated that bail may be canceled if the original order is prima facie illegal or unjust, or if the accused attempts to influence prosecution witnesses, tamper with evidence, or obstruct justice.

Other grounds include the risk of fleeing the court’s jurisdiction, interfering with an investigation, or committing a similar offense while on bail. Newly discovered facts or evidence linking the accused to the alleged crime may also justify cancellation.

The ruling came as the Supreme Court dismissed an appeal and upheld a Sindh High Court decision in a case involving the death of a man in Larkana.

The accused, Ali Asghar Khokhar, was granted pre-arrest bail by the Sindh High Court on October 20, 2025, after a sessions court had rejected his application.

The Supreme Court observed that the nine-month delay in registering the FIR and the accused’s alleged involvement in the incident were matters requiring further inquiry.

The court also directed that a copy of the judgment be sent to the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) to examine allegations of illegal electricity supply and power theft linked to the case.
