The Profiles in Research Project
Ohio State's reputation as one of the great research universities in the United States results from the daily work of thousands of faculty and staff, hard at work in their laboratories, in the field, and in their classrooms. They are solving problems, making new discoveries, and finding the answers to questions old and new. They build new products, discover better techniques, and develop new medical treatments that have almost immediate practical applications.
Rarely do we get the opportunity to hear their story. What led them to this research? Why is this research important to them? What exactly are they doing that leads them to the discoveries that help us understand our world in new and better ways?
Profiles in Research is a video series that tells the stories behind ground-breaking research - at an up-close and personal level. The storytellers are the researchers themselves. Hear their passion, see their labs and study environments, and get glimpses into their day-to-day work. This series provides insight into why they do it; how they do it; and in some cases, how they navigate the infrastructure of one of the largest universities in the country.
A short film describing the projects is also available (YouTube).
