Note: I use nth-child attributes, and this is causing much problems for me, because it seems there has been a class inserted into the order of things. So, no body else will probably experience this. If you read my blog on nth-child and have actually tried this. As far as I can tell, only one new class has been introduced. This would cause every thing to be kicked down one. So, nth-child-1, will now be “2″, and “odd” will be “even.” Good luck!

layout manager

LM looks to be done from the tutorial on WL, Evil Genius makes me sound like a bumbling hick with his smooth vid. Layout Manager is really a incredible tool, combine it with custom CSS, and I don’t think there is much you can’t do. Once it comes out, I’ll be creating some networks trying to push it to it’s limits. I’ll make some deep tutorials with it, maybe you can throw your ideas in of what you’d like to see.

If you have not yet, jet over to Widget lab and read the TRUST IS NOT A FOUR LETTER WORD from CEO Dominic Wheatley. It’s very telling of the intentions behind socialgo, where they are headed and where they will and will not take us. You’ve probably seen Ning’s new facebook wanna be with other peoples hard work as their base, but SG really looks to be on the right track here. Especially for someone like me who has already lined up clients for white label sites (waiting for layout manager), who has to have some agreement, even promise, which this is, a open contract of sorts, to run a efficient business that won’t end up embarrassing the the u know what out of me and my company. I printed it out and will do a in depth post on it. Right now I’ve only read through it once.

New Templates!! (applause)
Ok, they are still a bit general, but templates always will be and should be. They are the cornerstone of your network, pick a color scheme you like or a header you like and build on it. Saves some time and gives a little nudge.

Just FYI, then ‘unsubscribe’ link which you will now notice at the bottom of all network emails does the same thing as removing alert requests and alert messages from your profile.

If you leave a network and they use the contact importer / invite members to event / group, and you click ‘unsubscribe’ it effectively puts that exact email address into an optout black list.

For privacy reasons, we don’t tell the network owners whether someone on their invite list has opted out of emails, it just looks like they all got sent.

We’re looking at other ways of improving emails which I’m sure will be announced when ready – the most important thing is that users’ password reset emails come through.
