The law is given for our safeguard, happiness and safety Deut 6: 23-25. Keep His heart in your heart to inherit eternal home by keeping sabbath.

I think you might also find these statements interesting from two of our pioneers as i stumbled upon this same apparent problem and like you began to do some research. here they are:

1. In the first year of Neriglissar, only two years after the death of Nebuchadnezzar, broke out that fatal war between the Babylonians and the Medes, which was to result in the utter subversion of the Babylonian kingdom. Cyaxares, king of the Medes, who is called “Darius” in Dan. 5:31, summoned to his aid his nephew, Cyrus, of the Persian line, in his efforts against the Babylonians. Uriah smith, Daniel and the Revelation, Pg. 51

2. It is Cyaxares who is called in Scripture Darius the Mede, and we shall find that under his reign, which lasted but two years, Daniel had several revelations.” At the death of Darius, Cyrus very naturally assumed sole control of the empire. you still did not prove the identity of Darius. You only can assume by your statement ” I concluded wholeheartedly that Cyrus was the nephew of Darius ( Cyaxares).” Nowhere, does it state that Cyaxares was indeed Darius the Mede!

Right from the day of creation,God did not use force to be worshipped.
It is all about ones faculty to decide whether to obey God or not.Will the Sunday law to be enforced in line with God’s character of love? Think about that and relate to any biblical event where God used force on his people.It matters on which day one worships.God dedicated sabbath as a special day to rejoice in handiwork.Remember passover in Egypt. Do you mean God didn’t know where Islalites were staying? it was just a symbol of obdience.

I think most people, comment makers here included, are missing the point. The steps necessary, the precedent set, the ideology of ‘OK-ness’ (in the minds of U.S. citizens) is what this address is about. Prophecy is important. Being aware is important. Trusting that God’s plans will be fulfilled in His time is important. But it is also important to understand the social climate we are allowing by our hatefulness toward anyone at all. It wasn’t Muslim’s who perpetrated 9/11. It was terrorists. Those terrorists were Muslim’s, so it is told.
What is at issue here is not even how close to Ground Zero this community center is built. This center, built or not, will be the lighthouse in the storm of religious freedom. We as a nation may choose to heed the warning, avoid the rocks, allow the center to be built. Or we may ignore the shining beacon of truth which allows all persons to practice their personal beliefs unmolested, instead crashing on the rocks of prejudice and fear. We will drown in a sea of hatred, brought to a froth by our own actions against those who now are regarded as we soon will be.
May God guide us who should, and do, know better.

Dear Jarod. I was greatly disappointed in listening to your clip that only for the video clips did you mention source.
Brother, the events of this world are not a surprise, nor are they cause for consternation or worry.
Jesus told the desciples “Now learn the parable from the fig tree; when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door”. Matthew 24:32-33 NASB
We were not given a charge to concern ourselves with Sunday laws, or abortion, or gay marriage, or Rome. I am not suggesting that we should be unconcerned about these issues. We should be concerned, and we should be standing for right “though the heavens fall”. However, may I suggest that of much greater import is the condition of those who have yet to hear the Gospel. Sunday laws, etc., are not the Gospel.
The Gospel is that I am a sinner. I’m under a sentance of death. I need a Savior. God, in infinite love, sent His only Son to pay the price of my sin. By Grace, I am now an adopted son. To Him be the Glory!
Our charge is simple: “And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the son and the Holy Spirit, TEACHING THEM TO OBSERVE ALL THAT I COMMANDED YOU; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age’ “.
Go, spend some time away from what you were taught and the wisdom of men. Spend some quality time immersed in the Word of God. Allow God to speak through His Word His truth, about His will. Be Blessed!

It doesn’t matter what you call it, mosque, activity center. There is no reason to build it at or near ground zero if it bothers family members of those who lost their lives on 9/11. If these muslims understood God at all, or had any compassion they would realize they are hurting others and should just build it somewhere else. No one is saying they can’t build it, just not there.

I’m simply presenting my experience. After having visited his office for network/computer set-up and talking with him on and off for about two weeks, his credentials seemed very solid to me. The online document at NASA verifies his position there during the time, and his business card and office space clearly indicated to me that he was working as a consultant to the US Air Force.

As for the “Missing Day” claim, all I can tell you is what he had told me and, most unfortunately, I do not have a vocal recording of the conversation we had. I would love to get someone’s help to locate him in Virginia again and get it straight from his mouth. I really hope he is alive and well. He was in an excellent health at the time, but that was like 20 years ago from today (August 2010). He or his family, or better yet, NASA may still have actual documents to prove his claim.

I think everyone under the sun is missing the point. It isn’t about whether it is a mosque or whether Muslims are being persecuted. It has to do with who is backing this financially and the rhetoric of those who are not preaching peace with their faith. So legally do they have the right to build? Yes. Should they? Is it wise? Not if you consider the fact that those who are backing this financially and those who are in charge of this “community center” or “mosque” or whatever you want to call it have thoughts and feelings against the US that are in line with Al Queda’s. So what is wrong with protesting this? If you are protesting this because you are against Islam-you are misguided. If you are protesting against those who are backing and in charge of this center being built becaue they are so in line in thought and rhetoric with Al Queda who attacked and killed innocent people–then God bless you for exercising your first amendment rights. [But then again, it probably wasn't Al Queda who attacked those twin towers right?]

Excellent video, I think it framed the issues well. To me, the actual question is not so much RE whether or not it is appropriate or “sensitive” (I love that the non-PC crowd is for once using that term!) to build the Cordoba Project near Ground Zero… I think the real issue is the increasingly popular demonizing of a minority faith… it is Islam now but who knows which minority is next. Positively troubling.

While I agree,asfar as linier time prophecies go. But another statement should also be concidered,—paraphase— we need a better understanding of Luke 21-vs20&24. “And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies then know that desolation thereof is nigh”,and Jerusalem will be trodden down of the gentiles,untill the end of the times of the gentiles”.
The first fulfillment AD 66,followed 3.5 years later by final destruction. In 66 all Christian believers acted on Jesus prophecy and left when the siege was lifted. In AD 70 final destruction came.
Next statement–paraphrase–The prophecy which He uttered was twofold in its meaning: while foreshadowing the destruction of Jerusalem , it prefigured also the terrors of the last day. Also this–The Saviors prophecy concerning the visitation of judgements upon Jerusalem is to have another fulfillment—. OK
One may infer from this that someone could gain insight from knowing the facts about Jerusalem & understanding those times and knowing how God defined the Jewish dispensation. Look at Daniel 9 for Gabriels precise definition of the last 490 years of the time allotted to the Jews. History puts the final “week” AD 27 Jesus baptism, AD 31 The crusifiction, AD 34 the stoning of Stephen. So AD 34 is the actual end,but mercy allowed another 32 years for individuals to repent and be converted! OK
Now we are the first generation to actually see the end of the times of the Gentiles. A precise and perfect fulfillment occured on July 30,1980, when Jerusalem was dedicated as the capitol of Israil.
When that finally dawned on me I wanted some cross check. First I subtracted AD 34 from 1980 = 1946 years. OK so we “gentiles” got 1946 years. I wondered , did the Jews get 1946 years. That would be about 1912-1913 bc aprox. Well get this most history chronalogys put the year that God gave His covenent vision of the burning furnace & smoking lamp, was 1912-1913 BC. Thats close enough for me!
So whats left the 32 years of mercy! AD 34-66 & 3.5 years to final destruction. Our equivelent 32 + 1980=2012, then 3.5 yr to final destruction! And that is prophecy post 1844!

reading the post and these comments has really lifted my spirit.It can be so hard at times when you try and try and keep failing and you wonder will there ever be a breakthrough? or, are my prayers falling on deaf ears? you just want to give up! but i know its all the plan of the devil and he smiles each time as we fail.I have failed so much that sometimes i think i better not try again because i keep hurting God. A part of me wants him in my life and the other part enjoys sin.. i am divided and is being teared apart with guilt but i dont know how to stop or when it will stop . pray for me that i get a breakthrough.

Brother Jared, thank you for this straight testimony. As a third generation Seventh-Day Adventist, I was introduced to Ellen White’s writings as far back as I can remember around 9 years old. I remember taking the plastic wrap off of all the volumes of the Testimonies and beginning to read and understand the writings of this end-time prophetess.I remember reading Messages to Young People by 11 or 12 years of age. Today, my children at 9 and 11 years old, understand the very important work that Ellen G. White was called to do for us during these last days of earth’s history. An excellent resource is the Pathway of the Pioneers CD series. It has helped our entire family understand our church history and how it lines up with scripture: Daniel 8:14 and Revelation 12:17. If SDA parents don’t believe, then we do a dis-service to the children we are raising who are to help finish the work. If teachers don’t believe, then they will not incorporate the Spirit of Prophecy in the daily Bible curriculum. Jared, I thank you for sharing this excellent post, and especially the SOP quote. You are so right in that sin is pleasurable for all of us; and that it is not natural for us to turn toward God. In this very dark time we are living in, I think it’s so important for us to encourage one another. If you fall, get up; look to Jesus, for He is mighty to save and forgive and then to give you power to overcome. Satan wants nothing more than to discourage us after a fall; and I speak from my own personal experience. But like Peter, I always say, “Lord, where else can I go?” but to You.

I believe that this sermon was what God wanted us to hear, regardless of whether we like it or not. And who are we to know what the church needs to hear? God knows best. Addendum: Rebecca, my sentiments exactly. My Adventist church is also silent on current events and the last days. We have not had a sermon on the Second Coming of Christ for at least 15 years now. No one wants to hear it. The younger members will let you know right away that they don’t want to hear it. If anyone does show any interest in these things, they are hushed and asked to sit down. The signs of Christ coming is all around us. I don’t understand how the members can keep so quiet about these important events. Some will be sleeping even when the trumpet sounds. I pray to God I won’t be one of them. I am watching, waiting and praying. I am trying to witness for my Lord and Savior. He is coming so very soon! I know He is. I can sense it.

I stopped going to church over 4 months ago. Going to my church every Sabbath was like attending a funeral service, hardly anyone smiles or is friendly. The music is slow and funeral like as well. My pastor, bless his heart is more of a cerebral person than a heart person. Our sermons were dry and often boring. Some folks would actually go to sleep during the services. Cliques also is a problem. I felt that there was no real Christian balance amongst the congregates. Church became a chore and I just quit attending. Only one person from the church has called and said that they missed me. It is things like this that has turned me away from Adventism. I do pray that God will help to overlook these problems and then return back to church.

The reason my husband and I struggle going to church is in short. “Judgement!” Oh, they say there not judging you, but they are. Your considered the backslider because you pointed out some things that are not biblical that are being practiced. You as a individual realize that you are doing things to satisfy a man and not God. Such as not cutting your hair or dancing with your husband in public “like at a wedding” or not wearing jewerly. “not even a wedding ring” or not going to the movies or always wearing skirts and I mean always, event to swim. I know what your thinking. “Honey, you were in a cult.” No I wasn’t. These people truly love God but they are so stuck in tradition. It’s truly sad. So, I believe in One God. Jesus Christ, I believe in obeying the gospel. Death, Burial and resurection. But the non-sense of everyone looking alike and being sooooo obviously uncomfortable to be around is not what God wanted. He made us all different. God deals with people from the heart. He will change things on the outside as he pricks you in your heart. I know when I got the Holy Ghost. I stopped smoking, drinking, cussing, I became more modest, I cared about others needs way more than my own. God did that. But at know time did he say. “Tammy, don’t cut your hair, don’t wear make-up, don’t wear pants.” My point is. God will deal with each individual because everyone is different. Maybe God did tell someone to never cut there hair. But, just because he didn’t say those things to me. I am being Judged and can’t go where I want to go to church.

I agree with you. I do not see how someone can overcome sin believing in a message of infused righteousness. It makes me sick to see how much influence this man and other men of great authority have had to produce such worksy christians. So many have back slided because of these messages because it leaves you thinking you must first overcome before you are accepted by the Father. It is a misrepresentation of the character of God and makes you look at God like you’re at his mercy. Obedience must be motivated by love… that is the only way anyone can overcome.

I can see the world CREEPING into the minds and lives of adventist all around me because they are so TV crazy and many of them just watch movie after movie, at home and in the theatre. I see a hostility towards me because I have chosen NOT to watch TV or movies anymore. They make fun of me and call me a fanatic. I see a great battle ready to wage IN THE CHURCH between those who are drawing closer to God renouncing the world AND those who are still in the church but becoming more and more worldly. The quote is from Karl Marx, describing religion:

Denise has been confronted by clear Bible and Spirit of Prophecy writings from Ellen White about the sinless nature of Christ and a clear teaching of Justification by faith in Paul’s writings and the balancing statements of Ellen White but he is proud, stubborn and unmoved. He makes the same mistake of Uriah Smith at the 1888 Minneapolis camp meeting in blending the blood and the water, the Cain vs. the Abel offering. Dennis has been shown the Greek language in Romans 7 that clarifies that it is the internal dynamic of Paul as an OVERCOMING Christian who is NOT participating in sin. Dennis promotes the deadly Catholic doctrine of ‘infused righteousness’ and is attempting to make it the ‘new’ contribution to the protestant legacy for the last days! Adventism is not a message of ‘infused righteousness’ as the solution for standing sinless before God when closing the work of the High Priest. It is in fact a complete renouncing of anything of ’self’ and a total looking unto Jesus as the Author and Finisher of our FAITH! Old Catholic heresy cannot be new Adventism. No matter how authoritative and confident Dennis tries to sound. He will stand in shame before the Infinite righteousness of the Lord for the people he made UNREADY for His soon 2nd coming. When you really study type vs. anti-type in the sanctuary message, you would flee at the idea that our transformation is the foundation for Justification. Dennis may have hardened his heart to these simple truths of the gospel but you don’t have to reader. Dennis is going the way of Jones and Waggoner when they moved towards apostasy of the obsession of the internal experiential from the personal history of Jesus standing in place of own own history as the Substitute and Surety of our salvation. It is plain to see that the ‘Alpha of apostasy’ has not died but is rearing its head in the ‘Omega of apostasy’ in our present day. The same message of thinking that some experience or reality that God can see in us will be the basis for acceptance. Catholic Adventism is in our ranks of Pharisees as it was 2000 years ago. Please help us Lord!

I think many good points were brought out in this message regarding the the pendulum shift from staunch conservative legalism to the ultra post modern state of liberalism so prevalent in many SDA churches today. The balance mentioned will only be found when the gospel is understood and obeyed in its unadulterated purity. The secular humanistic, moral relativistic concept of “unconditional love” is a perversion of the true meaning of the phrase. Unconditional love does not necessarily mean lawless liberalism as the proponents of “cheap grace” teach and preach. Unconditional love is mentioned in principle a number of times in Scripture. Jesus commanded us to “love our enemies”….not waiting for them to repent or change but to love them in their state of sinful enmity towards God and His children. In Romans 5 verses 6,8 and 10 the Apostle Paul states in no uncertain terms that while we were weak(wicked), sinners, and even enemies of God, Jesus died for us and reconciled us to the Father by His death. There was no “conditional” action, state of mind or obedient behavior required from those wicked sinning enemies of God (that is us!) in order to cause Him to thus lay down His life in death in order to procure their (our) redemption and reconciliation to God. In this sense the love expressed through the totally unselfish sacrifice of Jesus is indeed unconditional….but in no sense does this demonstration of true unconditional love give the sinner license to keep sinning. On the contrary, a response of true repentance on the part of any sinner who would experience the full blessing of salvation and redemption is absolutely required…not as a means of their salvation, but as a demonstration of the power of grace conquering the power of sin as a witness for God. The Bible is very clear…we are saved by grace ALONE through faith ALONE in Christ ALONE to the glory of God ALONE. We cannot earn or merit salvation by any works including the works of the Holy Spirit such as repentance, confession, forgiving our enemies, etc. (See Ephesians 2:8-10 and Galatians 2:16) Obedience to the gospel is the ONLY way to obey the Holy Law of His 10 Commandments. If you do not first obey the gospel it is impossible to obey the 10 Commandments.

I agree with most of what the good pastor has preached in this message. I do not agree with his general definition of unconditional love based upon what I have written above. If God did not take the initiative completely to love me in my fallen, sinful state UNCONDITIONALLY, then it would have been impossible to draw me to Himself through Jesus being lifted up on the cross as the ultimate demonstration of loving me while I was still an unrepentant sinner, wicked and even His enemy. In my fallen, sinful state it was impossible for me to do anything to “get Him to love me.” In His wisdom he gave all men a measure of faith and the free will to exercise that freely given measure of faith to either receive Him as Savior or to let that faith die and reject Him. Much more can be said regarding arriving at the “balance” mentioned in the sermon but I am getting long….blessings upon you all!

“Therefore let all the house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified. Now when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For this promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call to Himself….So then, those who had received his word were baptized and there were added that day about 3,000 souls.” (Acts 2:36-39)
Anyone who disagrees with this divine prescription for receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit and forgiveness of sins is a false prophet. This is the Word of God!
“How shall we who died to sin still live in it? Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore, we have been buried with Him by baptism into death, in order that, as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life…knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, that our body of sin might be done away, that we should no longer be slaves to sin, for he who has died is freed from sin.” (Romans 6;2b-7)
Real repentance, apparently, does not take a long period of time to do. The Jews in Acts 2 got it figured out within minutes after Peter told them to repent and be baptized. They knew what repentance was, because John the Baptist had spelled it out for them in Luke 3:2-14, in practical terms, so they could understand. Basically, he was saying to the Jewish leaders, “Quit being hypocritical!” (See Matthew 23, where Jesus calls them hypocrites over and over.) To the ordinary Jews he said, “Quit being selfish and share!” To the Roman soldiers, he said, “Quit using your force to steal from others, and be content with your wages.” To the tax collectors: “Take what is right and fair, quit overcharging!” Those who were determined to make these changes and others came to be baptized (Mark 1:4,5). They gladly “died to sin” in order to find God’s forgiveness.
Some sins, like drugs, gluttony, and cigarrettes, are sins of habits, and those habits must be broken. Repentance is a determination not to indulge in those filthy, life-destroying habits any longer. There is a trust that Jesus’ power in the Holy Spirit will help that person to completely live free of these and other vices. The Holy Spirit does give us the power to overcome these and other sins, including attitudinal sins, as long as we continue to walk in Him. (Romans 8:5-14)

I agree with Chad. Doug Batchelor’s sermon has many problems in it. David, Doug Batchelor is not the Holy Spirit, and we should use discernment and not accept everything pop preachers say just because they have a pulpit. Our standard is the Bible, and the Bible alone. Your statement, “If the Pastor was looking for his own popularity, he would speak for women pastors,” is biased, because I don’t believe that people believe in women’s ordination simply because that’s the “popular” thing to do, but because it is Biblical. I don’t believe it edifies anyone when he claims to have full Biblical support, when half of his arguments are unbiblical and not to mention just his own sexist opinions that are insulting and unloving. Without love, we make the truth of God a lie.

That was harsh! But I love it! Got me so fired up. =D I had Psalms 142 for my devotion today and the last part of verse 4 which says “no man cared for my soul” really touched me. I remember before I came back to a realtionship with God, there was no one at my church who really cared enough for my soul to tell show me God is real. Never was the spirit of prophecy mentioned in our church. The lame concept of unconditional love is truly of Babylon, instilling confusion especially among the young who are brought up in the faith. I thank God so much for the fact that He loved us enough to want to deliver us from sin itself. And I thank Him for the wonderful counsels in the books written by His messenger. Thank you as well for posting this sermon. =)

The man who told you that story is a liar. It is a hoax. A very old hoax, predating NASA’s establishment in the 1960’s. If you don’t believe me, a Creationist website (Answering Genesis) has argued that the myth is clearly false. What makes this interesting is that this myth – propagated here – is word for word disproven by CREATIONIST, and not secular, researchers.

Furthermore, you would never use previous dates to secure celestial positioning. Celestial mechanics are fundamentally extremely well understood, and would really only require the present momentum, velocity and position of a planet in an accepted reference frame. You do not need previous input.

I would request that this website remove this article completely. You spend almost a dozen paragraphs exulting evidence – only to claim it to be false and generated by the ‘devil’ in the final few sentences. It is highly errant and misleading.

Wrong… God’s Sabbath Day (Saturday) is changed by man as he said it would. The sunday law will take effect and it could even be the difference between life and death forever for many people. Thank you for this sermon. I was raised in the Adventist Church and honestly thought that if I kept the ten commandments I would be saved. I actually wondered what Jesus was for. About a year ago I finally learned the truth you have presented here. It has brought such peace to my life. I don’t have to try to be good enough anymore. I have to accept that I am not! Now I come to the cross every morning by reading some verses about what Jesus’ death has done for me and spend my time thanking the Father for the wonderful gift of His Son. Then I ask Jesus to put His mind in me and live through me that day. I have seen changes in my marriage and all of my relations with others. Jesus is doing it through me. I can’t take any of the credit. This is the power in the word of God, that Jesus paid it all and now lives in me.
Thank you for preaching about the gift of astounding grace that covers me. I pray our church becomes very solid on this most important truth!!

Personally I wouldn’t take a statement from the GC over the Bible or SOP. Just because the calendar has been changed doesn’t mean the weekly cycle has. There are things that God will not permit satan to do, because it would give an unfair advantage. If the weekly cycle had been changed would not the Jews be worshipping on a different day? Would God not have told His prophet? You can read SOP and not find one time where it’s stated that the spurious sabbath is on thursday or friday. It’s always said first day of the week or Sunday. If Sunday is the first day of the week than Saturday is the seventh.

From that day to this the knowledge of God’s law has been preserved in the earth, and the Sabbath of the fourth commandment has been kept. Christ has given no hint that the seventh-day Sabbath has ever been or ever could be changed, and no apostolic example for the change from the seventh to the first day of the week can be cited. The custom of observing the first day of the week instead of the seventh day of divine appointment has no authority save that of tradition, popular custom, and the command of the Church of Rome. The Church of Rome has been the agent by which Satan has made this breach in the law of God, and turned the professed Christian world away from the precepts of Jehovah. Through his insinuation men made the claim that because Christ rose from the dead on the first day of the week, therefore the first day of the week should be celebrated as the Christian sabbath, but the Scriptures give no authority for this manner of reasoning. The prince of evil well knew that could he set aside the true foundation for Sabbath observance, he could make the fourth commandment of no significance in the minds of men. Thus, under the pretense of honoring Christ, Satan succeeds in tearing down God’s great memorial, turning the minds of men away from their Creator in a false zeal for a spurious institution. He led the Jews to have a false zeal for the Sabbath, and then induced them to reject Christ, the Lord of the Sabbath.

the bible says that christ was resurrected on the first day of the week! which we all know to be sunday! seeing that he sunday is the first day then we can conclude that saturday is the seventh!

The problem with this story, like so many others, is that it puts GOD into a box. It presumes that evelution and GOD can co-exist. That somehow, they compliment each other. The earth may have been hit by asteroids in the past, but LIFE was only wiped out once. When you read certain passages in the bible, an impact by an asteroid is exactly what its describing. If we don’t have Jesus…what DO we have?

For me The most reliable evidence that the Sabbath that We believed is the True Sabbath thaT God is commanding to keep is Found in Mat 28:1. It does not matter if our calender did not corresponding the Jewish calendar as long as the weekly cycle is the same, as long as the seventh day of the jewish calendar is Saturday, it does not matter whether it is April then January to our calendar as long as We celebrating the same day, the same Sabbath as what jewish nation is celebrating..The most important is the weekly cycle did not changed that matter most! and it also matter of How you keep the Sabbath!

“Falling in love with Jesus is the best thing I’ve ever done” is what the psalmist states. I too, have read the posts. Some have intruiged me, some have amused me but most have pained me. I’m not going to be long on this as I don’t want to lose anyone here. When I fell in love with my girlfriend who is now my wife, I dated her, sent flowers, did special things like get her car customized or sent her to the beauty salon which I still do every week. However, it was the time we spent together either on the phone or in person that really drew us close together. Christ looks at us like a bride. This is made reference to in both the old and new testament and when we are really, truly attempting to know Christ for ourselves, although be it is an individual journey we will want to know everything about Him and do everything to please Him as well. I too, grew up SDA and fell away in 1991 my mid twenties only to find myself recommitted and more zealous in 2000! If you don’t believe that God is madly in love with you and is full of grace, mercy and oh, definitely humor then you really have been missing out on one of the most beautiful relationhsips in the world! Hebrews 10:25 tells us to not forsake the assembling of ourselves together. The reason for this is to support, uphold and support eachother. I can remember moving from California to the south in 2001 and trying to find a church we could attend. We were greeted warmly at two and found the services to be very inspiring. However, we visited another where we weren’t invited to dinner or even well greeted for that matter. You know which one we chose? After much prayer, we opted to join the “cold” one as we knew there was much work to do. Needless to say, before we moved to another state, that church became a hugging congregation. In many situations, it’s not what we get out of church all the time but what we bring to it. I vehemently apologize for the blatant disregard of visitors like many on this blog who have experienced the coldness and lack of acceptance and I pray (with you hopefully) that God will lead you in a direction that will be purpose driven and spiritually enlightning. My perspective on church is that it is full of sinners like me. Some, a little further along the path than others and some still standing in the crowd watching the runners get tired, trip and fall and some runners just quit. One thing is for sure, no matter how we feel or how we perceive this “church thing” God is coming back for a remnant church that loves Him and keeps His commandments and that my friends is a new testament text. Love you all and hope to see you all face to face when all this stuff is over.

I loved reading this article. I needed to hear the strong statements regarding the Sabbath. I was sent hear because I hold dear a new understanding of how to find the sabbath of creation. EGW has stated that Christ rested in the tomb on the creation sabbath, she also said that Christ’s prayer in Gethsemane was under the full passover moon. the study of the 2300 days, which cements the year AD31, also gives us clues and is said by EGW to be indisputable. the only way I can find to reconcile the study of our calendar is to realize He lived and died by a different calender than we live by.The SDA research commity in November 7, 1938, the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists appointed a Research Committee to investigate discrepancies in calendation principles that could affect the church’s understanding of the prophetic timelines of Daniel. statments that where made after the reseach include:
“What wisdom . . . the Lord gave those earnest God-fearing and sincere believers . . . to proclaim to the world that they were following the calendar adopted by the Karaite Jews, – those Jews who profess to follow the Scripture rather than following the calendar adopted by the rabbinical orthodox Jews who were following a calendar which they admit is inaccurate in its mode of reckoning.”

“There were many in 1844 who made merry over a lunar reckoning that was not based upon the modern Jewish calendar. The answer was returned: ‘Every scholar knows that we are correct as to the [original] Karaite seventh month.’ The Millerites were well aware of the rabbinical seventh month in September in 1844, and the circumstance was often mentioned in their papers. At the same time they were emphatic in their challenge that they dissented from the modern Jewish calendar because it did not agree with the laws of Moses.”

It was found that if one calculated back from our calendar to the cross Christ died on wed and rested in the tomb on thur. so the only way to find the true Sabbath is by the lunar calendar of the Bible. that was given to Moses.

One of so many snares of Satan in this last DAY is found in the book of EGW 5T 98 – it says that “IF YOU LOSE CONFIDENCE IN THE TESTIMONIES YOU WILL DRIFT AWAY FROM THE BIBLE TRUTH..AS YOU NOW HOLD THE TESTIMONIES,SHOULD ONE BE GIVEN CROSSING YOUR TRACK, CORRECTING YOUR ERRORS,WOULD YOU FEEL AT PERFECT LIBERTY TO ACCEPT OR REJECT ANY PART ,OR THE WHOLE? THAT WHICH YOU WILL BE LEAST INCLINED TO RECEIVED IS THE PART MOST NEEDED.”
SATAN IS..CONSTANTLY PRESSING IN THE SPURIOUS TO LEAD AWAY FROM THE BIBLE TRUTH.THE VERY LAST DECEPTION OF SATAN WILL BE TO MAKE OF NONE EFFECT THE TESTIMONY OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD. WHERE THERE IS NO VISION, THE PEOPLE PERISH’ (PROV.29:18).SATAN WILL WORK INGENIOUSLY,INDIFFERENT WAYS AND THROUGH DIFFERENT AGENCIES,TO UNSETTLE THE CONFIDENCE OF GOD’S REMNANT PEOPLE IN THE TRUE TESTIMONY.” – 2SM 78.

SDA Believe the testimonies but few are heartly applying those testimonies in their daily endeavors beacause SATAN made the testimonies none effective to christians.
