Nothing prepares you for the time your life will change. When it happens, you likely wont be looking for it.

I know this because it happened to me. I lost jobs and my relationships — sometimes on the same day. Although I was largely the cause, when it happened I was definitely NOT ready for it.

I had to admit some tough things. Number #1 was if I don’t sort it out now, it will get worse down the line. I needed an income. I needed someone to talk to. I needed courage to deal with the fact that I had neither.

If it was going to get better it was going to be up to me…

I realized that it’s not the problem that’s the problem, its how you SEE the problem. You need to see it correctly before you can solve it.

Long before Michael Mack’s Power Esteem program became available I took the long road to get there, but eventually surprised myself. By re-aligning the way I looked at everything I was able to change things. By reading and studying (even alone, on my own) I was able to find the courage and resolve to move ahead in my life.

Today I am ttally fulfilled and I have my own business–in fact I have several.

I decided to share what I learned with other people. If I can help even one person it will be worth the effort. I read a lot of psychological/motivational stuff that was difficult to get any value from. It was either clinical and technical, or full of ‘you can do it…’ cheerleading stuff.

Neither really helped me.

I had to dig DEEPER, and I had to get info from VARIETY of places (psychological text, human interest, video, documentary, biographies, friends’ advice, group and individual counseling, meditating, etc). I took all of this andused it to ask myself the right questions.

I decided that it wasn’t working to listen to someone else who didn’t know me try to give me ANSWERS. The answers didn’t work because they didn’t know enough about where I was in my life. Once I had the ability to ask myself the right QUESTIONS I found the answers for myself.

I didn’t believe this at first, but now I do: In the highest life-state you will welcome problems as challenges. The real question isn’t “what’s the problem”, but “how’s your life state”.

Some people actually seek out ‘the problem’ (surfers, mountaineers, etc). They want the rush of getting through challenges. The ‘horrible stuff’, like losing relationships and jobs, is just part of life, you don’t control it.

We just need strength for the change that is inevitable.

Problems are just facts. Our attitude is what makes us suffer. If we feel bigger than the problem we cope, if we feel smaller we suffer. Many times problems just reveal our weakness, and that is what we can’t handle, that is what makes us unhappy.

Somehow, for me, it turned out BETTER that these things happened to me.

You life state is not fixed, it changes moment to moment, (like waking up and feeling better the next morning). And the path to understanding is not a straight one.

Everyone has wisdom, courage and compassion inside of them, they just need to remember how to use them. You can use them like weights, to get stronger and stronger. Your adversity is just the resistance that makes you grow.

Expecting to win or fail is just habit of thinking. We are in charge of this habit. Don’t get me wrong, getting fit and staying fit takes effort. But in the long run it DEFINITELY pays off.

Perseverance for the sake of good wins, try not to accept your natural, negative way of doing things.

So, to summarize (even if you don’t believe it yet):

Perseverance wins.
Problems are good.
What matters is life-state.
What we need are wisdom, courage and compassion.
You have a choice. When you feel you cant handle something, you can chose to give up, or you can try to turn poison into medicine (even if it’s not your fault).

I do believe in one thing, pessimism sucks away your life force.

Recently I learned about Michael Mack’s extraordinary program Power Esteem that gets you directly to what took me years to uncover. I think you should take a look at it if you need, well, need what we all need.

Did I leave anything out?

Tweet This Post

We live in a world were we are constantly bombarded with information via the Internet, cell phones and text messaging. In order to cope we tend to filter out most of it in. But personal communication should be different. Personal communication is all about giving and receiving. Communication by definition cannot (or at least should not) be one way.

As a result of living in this fast paced world we frequently fail to consider focusing on what others have to say and instead make the mistake of obsessively expressing our own thoughts. If you are in business or sales (and we all are trying to sell something to others even if it is just our opinions), you must begin to appreciate that others have something to say too—but most of the time we are preoccupied with our own needs to even really list to what the other person’s message.

Communication is a Mutual Exchange

Communication, after all, is supposed to be a mutual exchange of ideas. Instead of thinking about what we have to say next, we should learn to be an active listener and focus on the message of the person with whom we are speaking.

All too often, we try to outmatch each other as if communication were a competitive event. You know what I mean; we’ve all been guilty of half-listening to others while thinking instead of our rebuttal. But not actively listening and focusing in on the words of others actually breaks down communication. You’ve no doubt heard that to get what you want in life you have to help others get what they want, yes? But when your main priority is to get yourself heard first, everyone loses.

Fully Comprehend What Others Have to Say

To succeed in life we need to master our communication skills, and that means understanding that communication is not just about expressing your needs and opinions. As important as being able to express is, it is infinitely more important to hear and comprehend what the other person has to say. It is only then that we can learn together and from each other. To become a great listener, you need to practice the lost art of active listening.

Active Listening Requires Total Focus

Active listening requires you to totally focus when you communicate with others. Stop thinking about what you are going to say to them in response. Communication is not a tennis match. You have to develop your communication skills by first paying attention of what the other person is saying.

Benefits of Active Listening

Actively listening offers many benefits. It opens a portal into to the other person’s innermost thoughts. When it comes to business related communication, it is our responsibility to make adjustments so that we can better understand our customers—making it more likely to close the deal. The better we actively listen, the more rapport we build with others. Active listening sends out a signal that you respect and appreciate the other person and we all like and NEED to be appreciated, don’t we?

Active listening is a powerful business tool, but it really is just a matter respect. I say this because I want to impress upon you that this is so much more than a sales strategy. Try using active listening in all of your communications—with family, friends and yes, everyone!

Are You an Active Listener?
How has active listening helped you?

When I was growing up things seemed so much simpler than they are today. Life was a lot less hectic back then. The world moved at a slower pace and the things that bothered us back then paled in comparison to the issues that trouble us today. You know what I mean, don’t you?
I can remember when my good friend Tony Rondinelli was the first in town to get a cell phone. It was about the size of a brick and he had to lug around a battery pack with it that was twice that size. But today nearly everyone has a cell phone that weighs only a few ounces. Even computer notebooks and mini-notebooks can be easily carted around to give you on-the-spot access to the world (and the world on-the-spot access to you).

But modern technology is a paradox. It promises to make life simpler for us, but before you know it, it has actually added more stress and obligations to our lives because people now expect us to work faster and produce more. When more is expected of us we tend to get more and more frustrated. Life is not always easier just because of modern technology, is it?

We feel the ever-present pressure of others expecting us to be the best at what we do. I even see this in some parents that go overboard in expecting so much from their children. It’s great to challenge your children to achieve their best, but it’s all too easy to take this the extreme. As traumatic as this pressure can be for children, we adults are going through something even more troublesome. To be anything other that the world’s perception of the best is sometimes just not good enough for some people. When someone else does is better than us, we fall into despair and feel as though we have somehow failed. But this is complete and utter nonsense. We must start to break away from this ridiculous notion once and for all.

Challenge: Break Away From the Demands of Others

Today I want to challenge you to take a few steps back and break away from the competition we unwittingly impose on ourselves.

Winning is great but it isn’t everything. I want you to begin to relax again and give yourself permission to be happy with doing the best you can—that is everything! If you feel the need to compete there is only one worthy competitor out there. It is YOU! It’s OK to just honestly do your best and not worry about what others think about your results. No matter what you accomplish, it will never be enough for some people.

Peak Performance Comes From Within

Rather than always being the best in the eyes of others you should learn look within to focus on your personal peak performance. Each day brings with it a new opportunity to achieve peak performance and YOUR personal excellence. In my opinion being the best is an accolade only you can place upon yourself.

Life’s expectations can sometimes cause us to react by to pushing ourselves way too hard. We all need to stop for a moment and ask ourselves what is it that we really want to accomplish. By all means go out and achieve everything you can in life—but do it for you and on your schedule—not because of the demands of others in this high tech, speed driven modern word.

Peter Loughlin

Now it's your turn. I want to know what you think. Comment below with a quick response...

Tweet This Post

I cannot begin to tell you what an impact Napoleon Hill has had on my life. I must have read his book “Think and Grow Rich” dozens upon dozens of times.

Just this evening I was coaching my friend and MLM superstar, Ali Yasin (Actually, I learned more from him than he did from me –but don’t tell him that, OK?) — we were comparing squeeze page samples for a project we were working on. One of the web pages we looked at offered a free download of Mr. Hill’s book as an inducement for signing up for their newsletter/list.

Well, that got me to reminiscing about about the ageless value of Napoleon Hill’s message. So, I did a Google search to see what I could “dig up” about him.

Naturally, there were countless glowing references to his work and testimonies about how he inspired millions of his dedicated followers to achieve greatness. For some strange reason I ended my search by inquiring about the date of his death. It was November 8, 1970.

I thought about the fact that I was a sophomore in high school that year and about how long ago it seemed. But by then it was getting late and I remembered that I had to go on Facebook to read about what by friends and family were up to and to make some relevant comments (Yes, I am getting addicted to FB, I know).

Well, to my surprise, what was posted there? It was a video of Mr. Hill, in the flesh, reminding me that he never really died in 1970 after all. He lives on.

Please take a moment to go and meet him for yourself.

My Friends,

I will post a free copy of Napoleon Hill’s immortal book, Think and Grow Rich within the next 48 hours. If you’re already on my mailing list you’ll be notified as soon as its posted. If your not on my list, go ahead and leave a brief comment and you will automatically be placed on my list for the update/notification.

Don’t let Procrastination Steal Your Dreams

Personal development can never be accomplished without personal work. You do need to dream, but despite what you’ve been told you cannot just dream your way to success. If you fail to take action and work at it, you just won’t amount to much in life, it’s that simple.

But many of us are burdened with procrastination and laziness? Can you over come this? The answer is absolutely YES! But you need to live a life of passion and possibilities.

Change your Perspective
In many ways it comes down to your perspective, how you look at life. For example, perhaps you don’t enjoy your work? You may need to look at your job or business from a different angle. You need to be focused on the positive outcomes and possibilities, otherwise, you won’t be able to attain much of anything. It is extremely important to have a goal and an action plan to get you where you want to go in life.

Set Structured Deadlines
You should also get organized. Accept the fact that you cannot do everything at once. You need to pick a course of action and take it—you can always tweak it as needed—but stay the course.

If you’re a perennial procrastinator, you’ll need to set structured deadlines for yourself. Every time a deadline is met, give yourself a reward such as time off or a nice meal at your favorite restaurant, it doesn’t have to be anything elaborate.

That said, expect to have some troubles along the way. The road to success may not always be easy. Obstacles will get in the way, but it’s easier to know that you can look forward to something at the end of every task. In truth, troubles are a good thing; in fact I see trouble is nothing more that genius in workman’s clothes.

Don’t Give Up

Most people never achieve lasting success because they quite too early. Don’t do that! If you give up, you’ll never know what you would have accomplished. If you’re like me you may find it helpful to do things in a small step by step system. Its perfectly OK to take baby steps to succeed but don’t ever quite.

Now get to work!!!

What do you do to stay on course?

In today’s economy we see entrepreneurs going under and employees losing their jobs more and more. If you’re an employee, you need to increase your performance at work just to prove your value to the company. You need to make the boss see that you are an important component part of the business. If you’re the business owner, you need to operate at peak performance too or risk being washed aside by your competitors.

But don’t despair, there are a lot of things you can do to help you stand out from the crowd. You can easily become a valuable asset if you just know how to play your cards right. Now not the time to be shy, it is the moment stand out and cast the spotlight on your God-given skills and talents.

Its never too late to be a peak performer

Look, if you’ve disappointed the people around you too many times, I realize that it may be an uphill battle to recover from their negative perception of you. I mean the boss, customers, etc. may have this preconceived notion of who you are, and any spurt of new efforts may be misconstrued as an ploy or even seen as a sheer act of desperation. But if you are consistent with your efforts, people will see that you are serious.

Your being sincere and genuine will have the effect of recharging your energy and jump start to your career or business. Play off your strengths and be confident with who you are and what you can do. Everyone will respect you for your new found confidence and energy.

Start doing something today

Carpe Diem! Seize each day’s possibilities. Don’t let your fears prevent you from proving yourself. Look for opportunities to volunteer and make sure that you go through the process with care. Take stock of your strengths so you know where you can best accomplish something worthwhile.

Be aware that success rarely comes easy you need to hang in there for the long haul. Peak performance means having the winner’s attitude — winners don’t give up at the first obstacle in their path to success. There is always a solution, all you need to do is be patient. Look for it and you will find it.

Don’t wait for better days to come to you you need to act today. Go beyond what is expected of you and be willing to take risks and initiate innovative ideas.

What have you done to create positive change in your job or business? Please share your experience.

Visualize and Claim Your Future

Visualization is a system of using the mind to create our dreams. When used correctly and on a regular basis, it can help you to accomplish just about anything you desire. It is an all too common mistake to underestimate the awesome and limitless power of your mind. We tend to set artificial limitations on ourselves and fail to ever discover just the unlimited possibilities we have in life. The fact is, your mind is a very powerful tool. And, when it comes to achieving success, you have the ultimate hunt and target system at your disposal. But, you have to recognize and direct its power before you can truly attain the success you desire.

We are all alike in that we all of us want to achieve our desires in life. We all have personal goals we aspire to and dreams we wish to accomplish. But sometimes it seems there are just too many things we want in life, and that there is no way to achieve them. The answer to this dilemma is visualization.

Ironically, visualization is a system that we use every single day. The problem is that we just don’t consciously realize and acknowledge that we are using it. To get us more familiarized with the idea, we need to see this system as a daydream. For example, if it is a new house you want, we have to see yourself living in that new home.

To the masses who choose to ignore the vast possibilities of life, this may sound impossible. After all, there is just no way can we get nearly everything we want, right? WRONG! People can accomplish they’re desires when they use the power of visualization, and this can be done either consciously or subconsciously.

Whether you consciously know it or not, we all think about our dreams. If we look around you will realize that, sadly, most people just haven’t amounted to much. What you must do is to look to successful individuals—success leaves clues. If we were to ask them what the secret to their success is, they’d likely tell you that they never stopped seeing themselves as a success.

So, how does visualization work? Visualization uses laser concentration and focuses power on a dominant thought. Whenever you think of something, you create this form energy that in turn will attract similar energies to you. Everything in your life, every thought, and every dream, started by a single thought. The more you focus on that thought, the more you put to it, the more it will come true for you. By having that certain thought, and by holding that thought in your mind and heart, you actually begin to create that new reality.

But be aware that visualization works positively and negatively. This is why negative people always experience problems in their lives. This is where they visualize and focus their energy and they reap what they sow.

The thoughts on which your mind focus are the ones that will eventually become your reality—choose wisely.

Here are a few things you can to hone your visualization skills:

1) Create pictures of our goals as if we had already achieved them

2) Affirmations. Affirmations are verbal statements that evoke pictures and experiences as if you have already achieved your desires

3) Rinse and repeat

I challenge you today to stop limiting yourself and look beyond the horizon of your mind. You need to accept the fact that there is so much that we have yet to understand in this word. Current science and medicine does not have all the answers. Focus on your desires of success and develop your ability to go beyond what your mind can currently envision.

Do you use visualization? How is it working for you?

I just learned about TVI Express — a program from the UK that is breaking all records.

It’s a one time payment ($250 + $25 for your back office website, etc.) and it’s product is the most popular in the world — TRAVEL. Travel is being sold at $1,400 a MINUTE on the internet alone, even in these uncertain economic times! Amazing!!

You receive a travel certificate for 7 days, 6 nights in a 3-5 Star hotel (I believe it is anywhere in you want to go.) Worth a lot more than $275!! (one night alone could be $275!)

This is a networking opportunity and you need to sponsor only TWO PEOPLE. (When you sponsor more, it moves the matrix faster)

The compensation plan is extraordinary.

I know, because my friend in in NYC about 15 years ago was in a program with the SAME compensation plan — and she earned about $60,000 in a few weeks. (It paid my mortgage for awhile — >smile<) However, it didn’t have a product, so it didn’t “last.” This program has a TRAVEL as it’s product.

TVI Express started in England in February. Went to Asia quickly – and has already created 60 (SIXTY) millionaires. Just came to the USA - 8 weeks ago.

Sponsor just 2 people and the rest of the people needed for your 2 x 3 matrix will come from anywhere in the world!! Fill that matrix and earn $500. When you recycle (which is an automatic procedure) your next payout is $10,000. (That’s right $10,000!)

That’s all I am going to tell you. Is it worth 15 minutes to hear more about this? I think so!!

Calls are 3 X a day – 7 days a week – at 2-7-10 PM Eastern time. 646-519-5860 when prompted, enter the pin number 8886#

FLASH!! Just received a message from TVI Express – THIS IS A SERIOUS COMPANY. Here’s part of their message!

“From humble beginnings, we’re now among the top network marketing companies, averaging over 1,241,169 page views/month, 340,395 unique visitors/month and 40,000 members/month.

Why are we telling you all this?

As wonderful as that is, our servers have taken a beating so we’ve decided it’s time to make a move and we’re doing it right now (in fact, on reading this, it’s likely we’ve already moved). We’ve moved to one of London’s prime business locations and have established our administrative base there, as we believe in the fact that as the celebrity chosen for endorsement decides the segment of the product, similarly the location chosen for offices decides a company’s market value.”

MY SUGGESTION! Don’t wait on this! FYI, my replicating website is http://www.tviexpress.com/moneytravels.

Productivity Isn’t In the Number of Hours

When you think of hard work, you immediately assume that you need to put in a lot of hours. Though this may be true for many cases, you can be just as productive even if you don’t work as long. What is needed here is strategy and some careful planning. After all, when people measure your level of success, they base it on how much you’ve achieved, not the time you put in. You might also have this mistaken notion that you are on the road to success simply because you have worked longer than most of your colleagues.

Let’s set the record straight: it’s not about the number of hours you put in for work. It’s all about the outcome you generate. You can accomplish so much in so little time if you plan your day right. Some people just work faster than the others and are able to produce the same results. How did they do it? First, they think of ways to save time. They don’t immediately assume that they can go farther just because they stay up ‘til late in the evening even when others have gone home and punched out their timecard.

If you belong at the bottom of the pyramid and have so many bosses to report to, you immediately think that working hours will impress your boss. When you look at it, you are actually costing the company more money with the resources you’ll use. The electric bills and overtime pay are extra expenses you are making. Who impresses the management more? The guy who produces the same results within the given time or the employee who labors until the early hours of the morning? If your boss is smart, he will more likely look at the output of your efforts.

If you work less hours and can still meet your deadline, you’re more likely to impress the people above the chain of command. You’re saving yourself the time while the company from extra expenses. Aside from that, you will also have more time to spare for the things you love doing. You will also have time to relax and recharge your batteries. What it all boils down to is your ability to do things efficiently with just the proper time management.

Tailor your own schedule and make sure that you follow it. If you have finished your work early and still have time to spare, it is prudent to move on to the next project even before it is due. This helps you in case of emergency. You won’t feel as if work has piled up simply because you planned ahead.

Plan out your days spent in the office and make sure that you use the time available wisely. There’s a time for everything, and when you are at work, try not to waste the precious hours. This gives you a chance to just let lose the moment you step out of the building. Take time to manage your schedule. Otherwise, your busy schedule will take over the different areas in your life.

By the way you really have got to try the litte time/productivity tool I use. It’s awesome! See it here: >>>> http://bit.ly/time-tool
