To provide users with a simple tool that makes it easier for them to get around the Montreal region, today The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) launched its new website (www.JacquesCartierChamplain.ca), which includes a dashboard with very useful functionalities: live traffic conditions, traffic cameras, in-progress road closures or obstructions, and the seven-day work schedule on the Corporation’s structures. Motorists, truck drivers, cyclists and pedestrians can also get text-message alerts about major closures or emergency work.

With a completely revamped visual design, the new site lets web users discover more about the infrastructure under the Corporation’s administration through stories and technical data sheets and about its history.

“At JCCBI, we’re proud to ensure the safe passage of thousands of users every day by managing, maintaining and repairing these structures that are so important for Greater Montreal,” stated Mr. Glen Carlin, Chief Executive Officer of JCCBI. “As it is directly linked to our road obstructions database, the new website will give users exclusive and highly accurate information to help them get around, which will improve traffic flow on our road network.”

A new brand image

The new website is the first concrete application of JCCBI’s new brand image. Inspired by a vision of the future built on the Corporation’s constantly developing expertise, this new image reflects JCCBI’s multidimensional work as a responsible manager of major infrastructure, as it not only plays a key role in transportation but is also an innovative expert and a stakeholder in Montreal’s social and urban life.

“This new image has come from a reflection process on what makes us different. The Corporation and its major infrastructure are about thoroughness, stability, effective traffic flow, solutions to major challenges, transparency, and more. By echoing all of these attributes, the new graphical signature updates the Corporation’s image and enhances its impact and reputation,” added Julie Paquet, Director, Communications at JCCBI.

The ministère des Transports, de la Mobilité durable et de l’Électrification des transports wishes to inform all travelers that the Honoré-Mercier Bridge will be completely closed towards Montréal from Friday March 18th at 10 p.m. to Monday March 21st at 5 a.m. This closure is required to repair the structural damage due to the accident on February 18th. For security reasons, the bridge will be completely closed along with the acces ramps from Routes 132 and 138. However, the two lanes towards the south shore will remain opened.

The road users will be able to cross by the other bridges or tunnel to access the island of Montréal.
