Why Eating Protein Is Good For You

For a while now, I have put on some weight... Now, I am working towards taking some of it off through exercise and good, healthy eating. Actually, as an affiliate of health and wellness products, I learned that consuming protein is one of the best ways to attaining healthy weight.

When learning about healthy eating, one of the most important nutrients is protein. Of course, all nutrients are crucial for our bodies to be as healthy as possible, but without protein in our diets every single day, our bodies will not be as strong as they should be. Protein can be found in a number of food sources, so if you’re interested in eating a healthier diet, you should consider learning more about protein.

We need to eat foods rich in protein every day because, unlike some other nutrients, it cannot be stored in the body. That means that if you eat more protein than necessary, your body will simply cause it to pass through your system. Therefore, you really can’t eat too much protein! However, because protein cannot be stored in the body problems may arise surrounding this nutrient as well. If you don’t get enough protein on any given day, your body has no back-up plan for producing protein on its own or using reserved protein from previous days. Therefore, protein is very important to consider when you are planning your meals.

Essentially, protein builds muscles, which is why you will see bodybuilders especially concerned with protein. When you lift weights to work out, you body makes tiny tears in the muscles. Proteins are then used to repair these healthy tears in the body, building the muscle slightly bigger with every workout. Even if you do not work out, your body’s muscle deteriorates, as you body needs the energy. Muscle provides energy, just like fat. Having protein in the body helps you to rebuild any muscle lost.

Protein also helps a person’s body in other ways, mainly with the maintenance of hormones. Hormones in the body do a number of things, such as regulate organ function, account for stimulation, create metabolism, and affect mood. Proteins are used in the making of some of these different hormones, so if you go more than a day or two without eating foods rich in proteins, your entire body will suffer.

How can you make sure that you re getting enough proteins? Simply put, look for foods with protein as a key component on the label. Some great foods to consider include chicken, beef, pork, eggs, and fish, although vegetarians can also get proteins into their diets by eating nuts, beans, soy products, and a variety of other foods. You should have some of these foods in your diet every single day to ensure that you are providing your body with the proteins it needs to stay healthy.

Calorie cycling or calorie shifting is quickly becoming a respected weight loss technique. Long followed by bodybuilders and other athletes who have to make weight without losing strength or muscle, calorie shifting is a simple method that involves fooling the body into remaining in a high metabolism, high burn mode even when fewer calories are consumed. It's been used for a long time by bodybuilders and athletes who have to hit weight without losing muscle. The best thing about calorie shifting is that it can work to lose weight even if you don't skimp on calories.

How does it work? Every day eat at the same times, but vary the nutrients or calories consumed. It's a very simple diet to execute because it's a very well planned diet. There are numerous online sources that include detailed explanations and menus for calorie shifting.

Just got back from vacation last week from Orlando, Florida and today is just one of those days where I feel that I need to be re-motivated to get back into the swing of things (perhaps the fatigue is getting to me), especially now that my little girl is in kindergarten and I have a little more time to focus. She is so excited about learning new things and of course, meeting new friends!

TODAY's ARTICLE: 7 Secrets to Loving the Life You Live

Living a richer, more rewarding life isn't always about achieving a goal or dream; sometimes it's simply a matter of adding a bit of peace, connection, and balance to the life you already have.

CREATE A MANTRA
When the stress begins to build, repeating a personal mantra will work wonders to return you to a state of peace and calm. While many mantras revolve around religion, this is by no means a requirement.

Short phrases such as "I am in control" or "This too shall pass" can work just as effectively. The only requirement is that it works for you.

FOCUS ON THE MOMENT
In times like these, the multitasker is king - or queen. And this may be part of the problem. You may be able to split your focus among more than one task, but this could end up splitting your efficiency and peace of mind as well.

Whatever you do, try to focus intently on that one thing. Have to prepare breakfast? Listen to the sizzle of the sausage in the pan, the feel of the fork in your hand, and the taste of each bite you take.

ORGANIZE YOUR ENVIRONMENT
The space around you if often a strong indicator of what's happening inside you. A cluttered or disorganized home or office makes for just as much clutter and disorder in your mind.

To steer clear of the chaos and confusion, spend five minutes every day cleaning up or clearing out the easiest targets for clutter accumulation in your home or office. Junk mail continue to pile up on the kitchen counter? Miscellaneous items always end up on your night stand? Now's the time to clear the clutter.

DO SOMETHING FOR SOMEONE ELSE
With so much thought consumed by personal matters, it can be easy to overlook the problems of others. This not only keeps you from lending a hand to those in need but also from experiencing a sense of contribution and connection only possible through doing something for someone else.

Host a blood or food drive, volunteer at the local library, or share the gift of literacy with those who can't yet read. Don't have the time for a major commitment, gather extra clothes or blankets and donate them to your local shelter or the Salvation Army.

DO SOMETHING FOR YOURSELF
As strange as it may sound, people often have a much harder time with this task than with doing something for others. Our gut reaction is to feel a sense of guilt or selfishness when it comes to taking care of ourselves, but there's nothing selfish about it. If you don't tend to your own needs and wants, you can't begin to be there for someone else.

Create a list of ten ways with which to treat yourself. Do you love spending a few hours reading without interruption? A game of pick-up basketball at the gym? Perhaps a day at the spa? When the time comes for a quick recharge, pick an item from your list and enjoy.

TURN UP THE QUIET
Life is full of noise. Everywhere you go, something is beeping, blaring, or bopping its way into your ears. Not only does this overabundance of noise create mental and physical stress but it also keeps out the soothing sounds of the natural world around you.

For thirty minutes each day, turn off every appliance, machine, and piece of equipment in your home. No television, no stereo, not even your dishwasher. You'll quickly find a little time spent in silence will help to ease your nerves and give you the chance to finally get in touch with your thoughts.

PRACTICE PATIENCE
Perhaps the most difficult tip to pull off, but also the most beneficial, is bringing a sense of patience and acceptance into your life. If you tried hard enough, you could easily find something to complain about twenty-four hours a day, but at the end of the day you wouldn't be any better off - things would actually be worse.

When you encounter a situation that tests your patience, focus first on how you can improve upon it. If you can't, accept the facts and move on. Getting upset wastes every ounce of your energy that could be spent making things better. The next time you're stuck in line or trapped in a traffic jam, think only about how you can make the situation better. If no solution comes to mind, accept it with patience and understanding.

Q: I keep reading about people who say "free" advertising works and others say it doesn't. Does the so-called free advertising work or not? Also, what do they mean "free?" It takes time to do this type of advertising doesn't it?

A: I have seen questions just like this one all over the Internet. Yes, free advertising does work and it works well for many people who use it. For those who say it doesn't work truly don't know how to use this form of advertising to its total advantage.

Using free advertising takes time, and a lot of it, to make it work properly. You as an advertiser, of free advertising, need to be dedicated, persistent, and driven. You will need to do a lot of research and testing on every aspect that can be used in free advertising. This is what takes the most time.

When those who are familiar and know how to use free advertising properly call it free, they mean they are not spending money on their advertising and making a profit while doing so. So they have turned their blood, sweat, and tears into a way of watching their business budget in a way that most overlook. Your advertising budget can eat away a lot of your business profits faster than any other business bill out there is you don't watch out. If you've got more time than money, free advertising should be considered.

The more ad sites that you have on your list, the better your chances are, as it takes anywhere between five to seven times for any prospect to see your ad before they take action on it.

Research. Do a little research every day to add more ad sites to your list, and while you are looking for at them, check to see how many other people are advertising the same type of product as you are. This is especially important if you are a member of an affiliate organization. If you see more than five or six ads of the same thing as you are advertising, move on to the next ad site. You will also need to research which ad headlines and text bodies are working well for you by keycoding your URL somehow. By keycoding your URL, you will be able to track your ads better.

Dedication. You have to be dedicated to placing ads everyday in order to pull in more business. Set a time aside for you to do this everyday no matter what. You also have to have the dedication to keep on looking for new ad sites to add to your list everyday. Be dedicated to your business and to yourself. After all, you are the owner of your business.

Persistent. Be persistent in everything you do with your business. Your ad placing, your research, the knowledge of your business (keep up on any changes that will be happening in your industry or company). Don't let one No throw you off track. As you will get nine No's before you get one Yes.

Driven. You will need to be driven to keep placing ads on free ad sites. The more you place everyday, the more you will succeed.

Q: Should I use my personal e-mail account when placing ads?

A: No way!!! Open a free email account with Hotmail, Yahoo, or any other free email service, because you will receive tons of spam into your email account from placing ads. There are a lot of people who will harvest your email account, email you to pitch their own business without even really looking at yours, or both.

Q: Are there any other cost effective ways that I can use to promote my business online?

A: Sure there are tons of free marketing sites out there. I will list a few here:

Traffic Exchanges. It is best to use the manual exchanges that have you click on a number or symbol instead of the auto traffic exchanges in which you open the window and it surfs while you are doing something else. With manual traffic exchanges, the person has to view your site from 20 to 30 seconds before they can move on to the next site.

Free Safelists. With Safelists, you will need an eye-catching subject line when you submit to them, in order to get the recipient to open the email you have sent out. Safelists are easy and safe to use. The members of the safelist have opted in to the list to receive emails about products and business and are spam free. You will need to become a member of the safelist in order to post. Free members usually can only post their emails to the list every seven days.

Free E-zines. There are free ezines to which you can post your ads as well. With these, you will need to become a member or subscriber and can post your ad usually once a month.

These are just a few examples of other free advertising means along with posting to free classified ad sites. Once you get the hang of using these four means of advertising—free classified sites, traffic exchanges, free safelists, and free ezines—you can spend more time researching new sources or outlets for these marketing tools.
