Looking for a biblically solid, inductive Bible study for yourself or a group? These are ten of my favorites from The Daily Grace Co., my most trusted and recommended source for biblically sound and beautifully presented Bible studies and Bible study tools. This list includes both text and topical studies including the two studies we will use this fall in the Scripture Dig community!

My very favorite place to get Bible studies — for individual and group use — is The Daily Grace Co. The studies are biblically sound and aesthetically gorgeous. But what I love most of all is that each study is deigned to grow inductive Bible study skills.

Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to go through MANY of The Daily Grace Co. studies either on my own, with another person, or in a group. And I have never been disappointed.

Note: The links below are affiliate links. I will receive a small commission at no additional charge to you if you purchase through them. I have purchased every one of these product with my own money and highly recommend them.)

If you’ve been looking for a good inductive study that doesn’t require purchasing additional videos The Daily Grace Co. is the BEST place to find exactly what you need.

Here are my ten favorite Bible studies from The Daily Grace Co.

EVEN IF— This study of Habbakuk is so good. Many of us have never spent time in the Minor Prophets but over the past few years, I’ve discovered these books are incredibly timely and give me great direction about how to pray for the Church and for myself.

DELIGHT — If you love the Psalms, you definitely want to check out The Daily Grace Co.’s Psalms series. Delight covers Psalms 1-30. This study will help you begin to understand the Psalms and also develop a meaningful understanding of God as you read them.

THE LORD’S PRAYER — I loved this study so much! It really opened my eyes to the way this model prayer helps us both communicate with God but also grow in knowledge of His character and purpose for our lives.

ARISE — Y’all, Nehemiah is one of my favorite books in the Old Testament and this study is AMAZING! I cannot recommend it highly enough. If you want to be challenged and inspired to grow in your obedience to the Lord, this study is for you!

COME AND SEE — My favorite gospel is John’s. I can’t even explain how much I love it. Chapter 15 is probably my favorite chapter in the Bible. And this study is rich with insight. So often we want to know how to live a Christ-like life and yet we haven’t spent time learning how He lived. Come and See is a powerful study about the life of Christ and what it means for us to follow His ways.

THE GOD THAT COMES NEAR — This study of Haggai was recommended by my friend Amy Hale a few years ago. And it is what sparked my love for the Minor Prophets. In fact, I love this study so much, we’ll be going through it together in the Scripture Dig community this fall. If you are only going to buy one of these studies, get this one and then join us in September as we walk through the book of Haggai together.

SEARCH THE WORD — If you’ve ever wondered HOW to study your Bible, this is the study for you. Over the course of a few weeks, you’ll be guided through the specifics of inductive Bible study in easy-to-understand, small steps. You’ll have the opportunity to practice what you are learning on passages of Scripture and, when you are finished, you’ll have the skills you need to study your Bible with confidence.

DAUGHTERS OF GRACE — A lot of us don’t know very much about the women in Scripture. Daughters of Grace is a powerful study that highlights women from both the Old and New Testaments and gives both insight into their lives and practical application for us to learn from them about Who God is and how He wants to use us.

EMOTIONS AND THE HEART — A friend and I did this study together earlier this year and it was SO challenging and encouraging. I have ALL the feelings and if you do as well and you’ve wondered what you are supposed to do with them as you seek to follow Christ, this study will be a great encouragement for you.

IT IS WELL — This study on anxiety is also one that really helped me. In fact, we’ll be doing this study as well this fall in the Scripture Dig community. We’ll use this as a way of preparing our hearts BEFORE the chaos of the holiday season arrives. We’ll start it in mid-October and finish before Thanksgiving.

So there you go, my ten favorite studies from The Daily Grace Co.! And, almost all of them (including the two we will use in Scripture Dig this fall) are on sale for $5 each! That $5 sale will only last a few days but there are so many other great products in this sale — think now about Christmas gifts because there are great books, studies, and tools for every age group.

SHOP THE $5 SALE AT THE DAILY GRACE CO.!!

If you are looking for a place where you can be encouraged to read Scripture and share what you are learning with a group of like-minded women, we’d LOVE for you to join the Scripture Dig community. SUMMER IN THE PSALMS is our summer reading plan … and don’t worry if you didn’t start at the beginning (or if you joined us and then dropped out), just start with where we are today using the daily check in posts.

<img data-recalc-dims="1" decoding="async" width="775" height="106" src="https://i0.wp.com/www.terilynneunderwood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/SD-Header-2021.png?resize=775%2C106&ssl=1" alt="Scripture Dig: Develop the habit.
And be sure to get your copies of THE GOD THAT COMES NEAR and IT IS WELL for our fall studies!

Are you living in abundance or scarcity? Focusing on what we don't have will always cause us to lose sight of what we do have.

The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].
John 10:10 AMP

I find myself returning to this verse time and again because it reminds me of a vital truth for believers — God has called us to a life of abundance not scarcity!

From the very beginning our enemy has wanted us to believe that God is not telling us the truth, that He doesn’t really love us, that He doesn’t really want us to experience all life has to offer. Think about the garden (Genesis 3), Satan directed Eve’s attention to the one tree God told her to stay away from. What happened in that moment? She lost sight of all the other trees around her. All her focus was on what she didn’t have and it caused her to lose all she did have.

Sound familiar?

Our enemy doesn’t have any new tactics, friends. He’s still trying to distract us from what God has already given us, attempting to convince us we are missing out.

He is a thief who only wants to steal our joy, kill our hope, and destroy our faith. He’s a liar who desires to convince us God doesn’t have our best interests at heart. He wants us to be distracted, dissatisfied, and dismayed. His tools include comparison and competition. It’s his desire to have us focus on everything and everyone except God.

BUT …

God is always faithful to give us what we can’t give ourselves. He’s always making a way for us to know Him, to abide with Him, to live in Him. So He gave us Himself.

JESUS CAME TO OFFER US LIFE!

Not just a satisfactory life but a satisfying life.

Not just a little bit of life but life to the full.

WE SERVE A GOD OF ABUNDANCE NOT SCARCITY!

There is abundance in Christ — over the top, more than we can imagine, unending abundance.

So how can we live this out, in our very busy but very mundane lives? How do we intentionally choose to focus on the abundant life we have in Christ?

It’s simple, but it requires intentionality — be grateful.

Make a list on your phone, in your journal, wherever but take time every day to record those gifts God has given you. This is no small thing, y’all. Keeping count of all the ways God has provided for, protected, and blessed us is an act of meaningful worship and it gives us a tangible place to go when we feel those tugs toward scarcity.

When we shift our focus to gratitude, we can’t help but see the ways God is working in, through, and around us.

If you have ever wondered what our how to pray or struggled to develop a consistent prayer life, these three suggestions will encourage and hep you develop confidence and consistency in prayer.

You’d think, I suppose, that someone who has written two books on prayer, created four years of prayer calendars for girl moms, worked for a prayer-focused ministry, and shares simple sentence prayers every day online would feel fairly confidence in praying.

You’d be wrong. I most often describe myself as a prayer failure. Prayer, as much as I believe how necessary and beautiful it is in the life of a follower of Christ, does not come naturally or easily for me.

So, if that rings true for you as well I have some simple suggestions about ways to strengthen your prayer muscles and grow in confidence as you pray.

Three Suggestions for Gaining Confidence and Consistency in Prayer

Write your prayers.

I know, I’m a writer and you may not be. But when I say write your prayers, I don’t necessarily mean writing out paragraphs or even sentences. Some days I just make a list in my journal, lifting the names or situations to the Lord as I write. Writing out my prayers and prayer lists has helped me focus (which seems to be one of my mail problems when I pray — I’m easily distracted). And, I love going back through those lists later and seeing how God has worked in various situations I’ve prayed over.

Create prayer prompts.

There are countless ways to do this. You could set an alarm on your phone to remind you stop and pray each day. (I use the Breathe app on my watch. When I get that notification to stop and breathe, I also use that minute to pray.) I’ve used objects as prayer prompts such as my whispering a prayer for my marriage when I put on my wedding ring. Maybe you want to use an activity as a prayer prompt. You could pray for your family as you load the dishwasher or fold clothes. It doesn’t really matter so much what your prompts are as it does that you use them to help you develop the habit of praying throughout your day.

Pray Scripture.

This is my number one suggestion to people. In fact, this is the main way I pray. I allow the Word of God to shape my prayers. Below are some images from the Minute Meditations I share each morning that will illustrate how I take verses I read and form prayers from them. Pray what you are studying or reading in the Bible. Allow Scripture to give you direction about what and how to pray.

Prayer is vital to the life of a believer. But we all struggle sometimes to feel confident in our prayers, to know what and how to pray, to understand what a prayerfulness looks like in the middle of our hurried lives. I hope these three ideas help energize and improve your prayer life. Be sure to follow me on Instagram and/or Facebook for a Minute Meditation every morning.

2020 was hard, right?

Our family, while so very fortunate in many ways, experienced the loss of my mother-in-law in April last year. That, even more than COVID, shaped everything else about 2020. While she had battled cancer for almost two years, the waves of grief I felt (and still feel) leveled me. I couldn’t pray, couldn’t read, couldn’t study … I had a very hard time sitting still and focusing.

I didn’t know what to pray, what to do, how to feel, how to navigate the feelings I had … and I found myself leaning into the Psalms.

The psalmists had all the feels, y’all. ALL the feels. Every emotion I was experiencing — from grief to anger to hurt to joy to gratitude — every bit of it, at every level, was expressed in the words of those sacred songs.

Maybe you, like me, feel like you’re finally coming out the fog of 2020. Maybe you’re still reckoning with all that happened, all that’s still happening. Maybe you’ve had a hard time focusing, a hard time figuring out how to pray, how to connect with God, how to move forward.

If so, I want to invite you to join me for SUMMER IN THE PSALMS.

This reading plan will be hosted in our Scripture Dig community. We’ll have daily readings (Monday – Friday) and discussion prompts about what we’re discovering about God and our emotions and ourselves and how to live in a broken world without losing our hope and joy.

If you’re not already a part of this community, you can join here.

And, because sometimes what we need more than anything else, is something to point us back to the Lord at the start of each new day, you can also find Minute Meditations every day of the week on my Facebook and Instagram. Here’s a sneak peek of a few of them from the Summer in the Psalms series.
