Hello from the Plan8. This week I bring you a little different format than my typical interview podcast. Today I have split the episode up into two parts. First I am sitting down with a good friend of mine, Lokesh Dhakar. A mild manner Baltimore based web designer and developer, you might not know he changed how webpages are designed. He created the JavaScript web app called Lightbox, a new take on how to overlay information on webpages without use of popups. Happy Holiday of choice from The Plan8 Podcast. That is right people its that time where people of their chosen judeo-christian creed celebrates the modified form of the pagan festival for the winter solstice. But that all aside I have quite the special guest for you all today. He started out a boy raised in the Motor City. But shortly after college he developed; during the first Dot Com, the company that made the “inter” part of Internet actually mean interconnection. That man is Jay Adelson.

Founding Equinix, the company that provided a neutral point of  interconnection for the segmented networks of the titan level powered networks of AOL, CompuServe, Prodigy, and other by gone big player ISPs of the early 90s. Jay Is also the CEO of one of the most popular social filtered news aggregating sites, Digg.com. That’s dee eye double gee, dot com. Also he is co-founder and is Chairman for the ever growing and popular podcast network, Revision3.

Again when I say he is a special guest, that is in all ways an understatement. His influence on the very fabric of how the internet is currently ran today has made it possible to have the internet we have today and as cheap of a price as it is now. His current ventures of Digg and Revision3 with respective TechTV alum co-founders Kevin Rose and David Prager are changing the landscape of how media is viewed on the internet now.

First is the E3 Electronic Gaming expo, in Los Angeles, California. Once the Largest and Grandest of Industry Expos, the last few years it had tried to sit back and cool down a bit. The Second event is the 13th Annual Webby Awards in New York City. The Webbys have been going on since 1996 celebrating the wonders of the web. VMware Fusion is a virtual machine software product developed by VMware for Macintosh computers with Intel processors. Fusion allows Intel-based Macs to run x86 and x86-64 “guest” operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows, Linux, NetWare and Solaris as virtual machines simultaneously with Mac OS X as the “host” operating system using a combination of virtualization, emulation, and dynamic recompilation.

Veronica is the co-host of Revision3’s tech-centric show, Tekzilla, and Qore on the PLAYSTATION Network. Previous to that, she hosted several other online video shows and podcasts, including Mahalo Daily, Buzz Out Loud, MP3 Insider, and Crave. She also created tech video content for CNET TV, including the popular series Prizefight.

Veronica frequently guest hosts other technology-related podcasts, and also speaks about technology, gaming, and social networking. In her spare time, she hosts the science fiction and fantasy-themed podcast / book club The Sword and Laser. She currently resides in San Francisco, with one technology writer and two cats.
