Emily Neveu: "My Cosmonaut"

Here's a track from sometime-member of Calico Horse and Indian Moon, Emily Neveu, whose piano-led "I Wonder If the Children Know" we shared with you recently (check it out again below). "My Cosmonaut" is another dreamy cut, this time just her acoustic guitar and a chorus of her vocals, from a forthcoming release on Lefse Records. And don't forget to check out her folksy cover of Radiohead's "Idioteque".

La Blogotheque (home of the "Take Away Shows") have posted a video of Atlas Sound frontman Bradford Cox performing Logos cut "Attic Lights" unplugged at the Route du Rock festival earlier this year. Check out the stripped-down version below, and you can find some other Blogotheque videos here.

San Francisco dubstep artist DZ turns in a remix of Major Lazer's "Keep It Goin' Louder", a highlight from their LP, Guns Don't Kill People-- Lazers Do, adding a lot of squelchy bass and ditching most of Ricky Blaze's Auto-Tuned vocals, but maintaining Nina Sky's verses, probably for the best. El Guincho: "Antillas (Banana Clipz [Bersa Discos] Remix)"

As reported last month, El Guincho has a series of four remix EPs on the way, courtesy of Mad Decent and Young Turks. The sets focus on two tracks from Alegranza!, an album that might have attracted a bigger audience this year than it did when it was released in late 2007. The Pinglewood blog today posted this chunkier and slightly more driving reworking of "Antillas" by Banana Clipz. The vinyl version of the 12" with this one is now available.

Wetdog: "Tidy Up Your Bedroom"

Meet Wetdog, Britain's answer to Vivian Girls, who will be releasing their sophomore LP, Frauhaus!, at the end of this month on Angular. "Tidy Up Your Bedroom" is a concise, lo-fi garagey number with surf guitars, a pounding rhythm, and a little organ for flavor. With the repeated refrain of "I would like to hurt you," however, it seems like these ladies may not be as kind as the gentle suggestion of the song's title would imply.

Alex Bleeker & the Freaks: "Animal Tracks" (Mountain Man cover)

Underwater Peoples' Alex Bleeker & the Freaks will finally drop their debut self-titled LP later this month, but they've already revealed the first single: "Animal Tracks", which you intrepid Forkcast watchers will recall is a cover of a song by Mountain Man, a group from Bennington, Vermont, who are in fact not men at all. The Freaks' take adds a lot more scuzzy guitar and overall production flourishes to a song that, at its core, is all about the harmonies. Check out both versions below. (via Fader)
