Moving a piano is quite a task. Piano moving can never be underestimated. Considering the price and the weight of any piano (as also its sentimental value), it is always advisable to hire professional piano movers to move a piano. They might charge you a good amount of money but then they are experts in handling piano moving procedure with all their specialized piano moving equipment. However, if you can not afford to hire a specialty mover then read on these piano moving tips to get an idea about how to move a piano safely?

Measure the piano as well as all the doorways, stairs and any other turns from where the piano will have to be carried through. Properly count the stairs. If climbing down, count the stairs by standing at the top and by counting how many times you will have to put your leg down (including the last step which is ground and usually not taken as a step). When counting upstairs, stand below and count how many times you will have to lift your foot until you stand on top of the landing.
Arrange for at least four strong people (people with strong backs) for moving piano. They should all wear non-skid gloves to get a better grip on the piano.
Get some piano moving equipment- buy or borrow- but get them ( you have to spend a little money if you don’t want your valuable piano to get damaged). Some of such equipment include a piano moving dolly ( heavy duty or grand piano dolly based on the type of your piano), a skid board or a self-lifting piano truck; straps to secure the piano to the dolly or truck; stretch wrap; and piano moving pads that are closely quilted.
For packing the piano, wrap it in furniture pads and secure it with rubber bands. Wrap the piano with stretch wrap by walking round and round the piano so that the pad is tightened.
While moving the piano, all the four people have to work as a team. Also, the piano moving equipment should be used properly. There should be just the proper balance in carrying the piano. The piano should not be allowed to wobble much from left-to-right and from front-to-back when carrying it up or down the steps.

It will be better to know about the piano moving procedure adopted by the professional piano movers as well. To do so, read How Professional Piano Movers Move a Piano?

Mastering piano can now be easier and more fun even if playing the piano in public was a disaster to you.

Have you ever sat at the piano in front of a crowd and froze up or you didn’t know what to play? You are not alone. You can now learn how to avoid this discomfort situation.

This is a serious problem you must control to prevent a disgrace in public places, if you aim at becoming a professional pianist.

What professional pianist knows is that, he is not the one playing the piano. He is only a conduit through whom the music flows.

He is a talented pianist not because he practices the piano more, but that he knows how to connect to the flow of music better. I wonder why nobody is teaching this to new pianist to make learning the piano easier.

Pianists know that playing a piano is not about keeping so many appointments with a piano teacher or buying so many products; It’s about finding a way to allow the music to flow. The fact is; the music is just out there in abundance as the air you breathe and the water you drink. Your job is to know how to let it pass through you when the inspiration comes.

Learn how to tap into your inspiration and the music will arrive on time. You have to learn how to set in motion a weird but effective sequence of events that would produce the inspiration. If you want to play the piano, you have to see the following 3 simple steps, nobody is teaching them to young aspiring piano students.

1- Psychology;

Leaders in the piano music are not those who just play the music; they are the ones who find out why they play, and then play it. They know how to connect to the reason they play the piano.

This motivates and gives them the power to go ahead. They get in touch with the joy of creating a song that hits. They keep themselves in this state because it keeps every cell in their body dancing with joy.

Now, why would you do that?

These states of love and excitement are contagious, and can draw not only people, but unknown forces to come to support you. If you want to take your audience to love and excitement go there first, and you will take them with you.

2- Physiology;

That is performing the mundane, physical act of walking to the piano, sitting down with the right posture, and starting to move your fingers on the keyboard. Find your way of getting to the music and stick to it. It’s a matter of being aware of the unique way you get to the music.

The music will not disappoint you if you keep the psychology and physiology in a good place. It is fun, and your heart will sing when you think of playing the piano.

3- Communications;

Know the language that communicates the music to the world around you. This is crucial because… Master pianists are not always the ones who have created the main ideas in their music; they are the ones who clearly communicated them to others.

Your real moment of truth, as a pianist, is when you sit at a piano, facing the piano and the crowd in front of you. Suddenly the atmosphere becomes quiet as you fix your eyes on the keys. The whole world looks at you, expecting you to take it to the Promised Land with your piano music.

What are you going to do now?

Do not try to remember the notes in the music but connect to your deeper self to access your inspiration. The inspiration will come to you if you are fully ready for it. Use your music communication skill to improvise. Don’t limit yourself to learning the piano techniques only, but get into the rhythm of music, and master how it works. If you do, you would never humiliate yourself in front of the crowd.

There was a popular and true story of a young pianist (Yoke Wong) who studied in the Royal School of Music in England with a distinction from Associated Board of Directors. She learned how to play the piano from the best piano teachers at the time for 10 years and spent over $5,600 in the process.

This pianist was at a party when her friends asked her to entertain the guest with the piano, but something unexpected happened. In this awful moment, she lost everything she spent years learning in music. This incidence did not only shock her but humiliated her professionally.

According to her, she froze up as a deer trapped in a headlight. She felt as if she was out of breath, and her hands were stiff. All she could do was to star at the keys while the audience was waiting in complete silence.

Everybody in the party, as a result, felt disappointed. This embarrassment led her to dig deep into knowledge and research to help young aspiring pianists from experiencing the freeze-up like this.

She finally discovered a tested and proven method of communicating the music to the audience called “The Definitive Piano Improvisation Course.”

Why is this beneficial to you?

I am bringing up this point because it brings home to you a role of playing piano professionally and a sense of accessing music easily. You have to master these 3 secrets now because chances are that; your piano teacher might not even teach them to you.

Please do share this with friends and allies – all are welcome to take part. I look forward to sharing my insights with you.

Best Regards.

Yes, Experts in Mastering Piano Believe that;

“Playing the Piano is a Process and Not an Outcome—You’re Always Becoming More.”

Here is something else to keep in mind:

Playing piano can not be circumscribed by the time because it is a life-long process. Yet I believe allocating time to your goal of mastering the piano can help you get the most out of your natural abilities even in unfavorable conditions. Let me explain this…

If you want to play the piano by yourself, and you don’t have enough time, or money, then taking the time to read this article will be the best thing to do now… to get your life on the fast track, playing piano with confidence.

Here’s what this is all about:

Someone posted a comment on my blog that “Play Piano in 30 days” is a scam and unreasonable claim after reading my article “How to Master Piano the Easy Way.” This kept me awake for some time and inspired me to start thinking; if I want to play piano in 30 days with little or no money starting from scratch, how can I make it happen?

Why is this relevant?

Experience show that: There are lots people out there who want to play the piano, but have that believe that it is difficult to do and takes a long time. I think they are living the past (where I use to be.)

Today I am going to reveal why living in the past is going to hunch you over, and Kill not only your dream but the hope your family and friends invest in you. I would show you what you can do now to start living your best life as a pianist.

But before I share that, with you, I’d like to tell you this, This is not for everybody… it’s for you if you ever said to your self any of the following;

I want to play piano, but I don’t have enough time.

I want to play piano, but I have only one month holidays.

I want to play piano, but I don’t have money.

I only want to play my favorite song.

I just want to have fun with piano, if….

Bear with me, because I’m going to show you how.

If I were a newbie today, this is what I shall do to become a pianist in 30 days. The strategy I am talking about involves three stages—you can use them easily.

1- Knowledge.

2- Experience.

3- Mastery.

This strategy can work for anybody, anywhere, anytime, and at any budget.

Let me show you exactly how this works:

1- Knowledge.

First 10 days;

I shall take advantage of the Internet; search for free information on piano, cheap programs, books, and videos to learn basics of chords, techniques and some tricks to play piano faster.

I shall learn technical procedures in scales and fingering and then move quickly to study key notation.

I can then familiarize myself with a keyboard diagram and spend a lot of time studying chord structure.

Now, get this in mind. This is important because I know this;

A pianist uses chords to play piano much the same way a painter uses a palette of colors to paint a picture. This shows how valuable chords are to pianists.

I am not done yet:

I shall write down, at list, 3 of my favorite song. Sing them repeatedly till I can memorize them.

2- Experience.

For the next 10 days;

I shall start to practice piano chords, get a feel of the chords, and how to use them. I would love it, thus getting satisfaction on the keyboard. I shall work on chords till I can instantly recognize them when someone is playing a song even without being at a piano. I shall also focus on playing the melody, one note at a time, with the right hand and playing basic chords with the left hand.

Why is this necessary?

If I understand why pianists play chords at any point in a song, I will be able to learn songs faster and easier. I can imagine how that will make mastering the piano easy and fun.

I have an even better idea. Here’s the real kicker:

You Tube Piano Videos

I shall go to You Tube to find videos that play my favorite songs. If I get one with a tutorial, I will jump on it. Play along with it till I can do it without the video.

Better yet,

Even if, there are no tutorials for my songs, I can still use any video that play my song, and apply “lettering of keys techniques.” to it. It’s just making efforts to know exactly– what keys they are playing on video, and then labeling them on the keyboard with sticky notes using letters like (a.b.c), and so on. Make sure that I master the labels well and can even play them with my eyes closed. This is how.

All what I shall do is play the video, slowing it down when am not clear, and pausing it to take note of what key they are pressing. I will then apply it on my keyboard. The more I do it the faster I become.

I will continue doing that till I can play all my favorite songs on the keyboard.

3- Mastering.

The last 10 days.

I will think like a professional; I will try to improvise.

The most valuable skill in playing piano is to free my inner music to create my own music. Note reading will come easily after that.

Here is a way to think about it:

I will now take all what I have learned and use it in a variety of situations in any related music.

By using the knowledge, I will be able to assimilate new ideas easily to play piano quickly, not because of the knowledge alone, but because of the experience I have in practicing with the materials.

Back to the purpose of this article…

At the end of the 30 days, I will be able to play piano for my family and friends. I can talk to any piano genius on any subject on the piano. Now you can or suppose you could… what would your life look like after 30 days?

However, don’t take my word for it;

Sure, you are getting excited about this strategy now, but what you are going to find after applying it for 30 days is that; you will be jumping for joy. And that’s just the beginning.

Your experience in 30 days will inspire you to keep on challenging yourself to learn more piano techniques and theories.

You will come to understand this number one secret to mastering the piano; “Playing the piano is a process and not and end goal—you’re always becoming more.”

Your life will never be the same again because you can now connect to a better future: Mastering piano music.

Like most areas of technology, music has been revolutionized with the invention of the electronic pianos. Of course, you can nonetheless get conventional “analog” pianos constructed with wood, steel, and strings, and they still have the richest sound … but there are various tremendous advantages offered by electronic pianos, and the sound is getting very close to the analog model particularly within the up-scale versions.

This article presents some key advantages supplied by electronic pianos as well as the few remaining disadvantages to help you make a wise choice if you wish to buy an electric piano. Incidentally, a digital piano uses samples of real sound to re-create tones electronically, whereas an “analog” piano uses the standard “padded hammer striking metallic strings” design.

As you may expect, not all of the following advantages are supplied by all electronic pianos; more expensive models tend to have more options and better quality sound whereas inexpensive models tend to offer less features or lower quality. I recommend you pick the advantages necessary to you, and then use that as a checklist for evaluating different models.

Advantages Of Electronic Pianos:

Upkeep: Digital pianos never need tuning; they’re easy to clean; and most are straightforward to store.

Moveable: Electric piano keyboards come in a wide variety of sizes (primarily driven by the number of keys … typically 61, 73, or 88 … and sound quality), and if they’re designed to be “table top” rather than floor-standing, they are usually simple to maneuver around.

Lower Price: Although you can buy digital pianos that cost more than used conventional pianos, typically, the price range for electric pianos is way lower than the analog “wood and string” variety. Of course, you may get a basic digital unit for less than $100, however you can get a full-featured, quality sound for under $500. You most likely can’t even get a used wooden upright piano that won’t hold its tune for $500.

Selection: A traditional piano sounds like a piano and a pipe organ sounds like a pipe organ, but electronic pianos usually have a number of buttons that allow you to play automated background rhythms, make your keyboard sound like other instruments, and even play recorded “accompaniment” music so it appears like you might be in a band or orchestra. Many models even allow you to vary the sound to supply the rich sound of a concert hall or Jazz club.

Size and Location: Digital pianos weigh much less and take up much less space than analog pianos. Additionally they don’t require stringent temperature and humidity controls … or special movers to re-locate them. Most homes have an available desk top where you may play a digital piano, however not all have room for a traditional piano (even the space-saving upright design).

MIDI: Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI; pronounced “mid-ee”) enables you to connect your instrument to different electric piano keyboards, computers, and other digital equipment. This allows you to control multiple instruments concurrently (e.g., another keyboard that sounds like a guitar, etc.), record in your computer, and much more.
Weighted Keys: Weighted keys really feel like they are made of heavy wood like traditional pianos which is particularly important if you also have touch-sensitive keys. This is a crucial function usually available on the higher-end models.

Touch Sensitivity: Touch sensitive keys means the harder and faster you push a key the more volume it will create … similar to a traditional piano. This is an important feature generally available on mid-level and higher-end models.
Recording: Many digital pianos include recorded songs and lessons and even let you record your individual performances. These recordings can also be transferred to your computer so you can combine your music with other accompaniments.

Disadvantages of Electric Pianos:

Sound Quality: Irrespective of how good the digital piano is, the technology simply does not yet sound and feel like the true thing.

Complexity: The better electronic pianos come loaded with buttons … hundreds of them … even programmable features … which can be pretty complicated to totally comprehend particularly if you determine to interface with your computer. Flexibility does have its cost.
Power: If the power goes out, so will your digital piano … unless you have a handy inventory of batteries. On a traditional piano, you can at least play by candlelight if you want. By the way, it’s best to always use a surge protector outlet strip to power your electric piano.

So, as you can see, digital pianos are loaded with highly desirable advantages while retaining just a few disadvantages. As said above, I recommend you decide which features are most important for you, and use it as a checklist as you shop to buy an electric piano.

What are the 3 things the piano site owner probably doesn’t want you to know?

In times like this, the pianists who stand out are the ones who remain confident of their decisions.

What a successful piano student does best is this. He looks far into the future and find out what piano lessons to learn today.

When buying a piano course, it’s natural that we pay less attention to the money we spend than the promises of piano lessons’ website because we are bent on satisfying our desire.

Today, saving money is so important that we have to make sure that we are not being set up to pay for a wrong piano course, but putting our money where our best interest lies.

Before you even read any piano lessons’ sales page, you have to go deep into yourself, and ask the 3 “What” questions no body wants you to do before you lose your money.

1- What exactly do you want in this piano lessons?

2- What’s the minimum required ways to have it?

3- What’s the fastest and easiest way to get what you want?

Arming yourself with this knowledge, means you are now going to spend money on your term, and not on the piano lessons’ sales page or the owner’s term: You have the power because you remain confident of your decision.

1- What exactly do you want in this piano lessons?

People take piano lessons for different reasons.

What is yours?

Do you want to play the piano to…

have a sole source of income, create, and experience exciting careers on the back of the piano?
write music for living, and develop your skill like a professional?
discover the hidden piano genius within your DNA.
bring people’s hearts together, and meet interesting life-long-friends?

Yes, you want to play piano. Who doesn’t?

Look far into the future, what exactly do you want your piano lessons to do for you, and what does that look like?

If you’re unclear about what you want, you pay the price by sinking your money to make someone rich. Why? Because, you’re unclear about which actions will produce the best results. You can’t distinguish between worthless piano course and worthwhile action to take. You’ll probably be paying for wrong piano lessons.

2- What’s the minimum necessary ways to have it?

If you’re not entirely clear about what you need to be the pianist you want to be, then chances are, you’re also not clear about what is not necessary to buy. And that’s a big problem.

What’s the least number of ways you need to get there?

Is it reading of sheet music, playing piano by ear, leaning Piano chords, mastering advanced techniques, learning to follow along any music, mastering all the basic skills and so on?

Of all the piano techniques available, which ones are necessary for you–to achieve the pianist lifestyle you desire?

This is your power, don’t buy a piano program based on its promises… you’ll be wasting your time, your effort, your money, and all the while diminishing your chances for success with the piano lessons.

3- What’s the fastest and easiest way to get your desire out come?

Now you are clear on your goal in buying the piano lessons, and you know what it takes to get to it. There’s no doubt you’re an informed buyer now.

You would also like it if you can play the piano faster. Who wouldn’t?

How fast do you want to learn the piano lessons as regards to your time? If you can’t make the time you need to finish the piano lessons, rushing to buy the course is not a wise decision.

You can find almost always any shortcut. Find the faster path to get to the pianist of your desire. You will not get lost in paying for the piano lessons that will help you get the result.

You now have the yard stick for measuring the piano course you want, just use it. You wouldn’t fall for a search for instant gratification of your desire, believing the hype, and buying so many magic-bullets with big promises.

Lastly:

To succeed as a pianist, this is what you should do best. Take a look far into the future and find out what to buy today.

Best Regards.

Whenever I am at a cocktail party or out with friends and they ask me what I do, I tell them I sell Piano Dollies. I get a blank stare right back at me. Give me a few minutes of your time and I will set the record straight for the world to see what a piano dolly is and why it is one of the most useful tools on the planet.

Piano dollies, plain and simple, are tools used to move a piano. They take lots of shapes and sizes and can vary quite a bit in their actual function but the general concept is the same for all piano dollies – they move pianos.

Grand Piano Dollies in the shape of a spider are probably the most popular kind of piano dolly that exists. Most grand pianos at a church, club, music hall or hotel will need to be moved at some point. The grand piano dollies are spider like and extend from a central point out to each leg of a piano. They are installed by lifting each area around the leg of a grand piano, typically with a hydraulic lift, then by placing the dolly under the wheel. Once that task is completed for each wheel the mechanism is tightened and the piano dolly typically remains on the piano for life. The new wheel set is attractive, is out of the way of most of the people looking at the piano and makes it very easy to roll the piano to any new destination you desire to take it. The wheel can be locked when there is a desire to have the piano remain stationary for a time. The wheels are easily unlocked with a simple press of a toe against the clip on the wheel to free the brake.

Many schools have upright pianos that have a dolly permanently attached to the piano to make movement in the classroom much more manageable. Most pianos do not come with wheels so the dolly sets are important to allow teachers to have maximum control over classroom configuration.

For a professional mover of pianos, a piano dolly is a must. Pianos can weigh up to half a ton or more and they are large enough to cause injury if not moved properly. Piano dollies can help a single person to come to a house, pick up a piano and move it out of the house, down steps and into the moving truck. The piano dolly not only makes the job of moving a piano much easier, it makes it much quicker as well.

Piano Dolly sets can also come as simple caster wheels in hard plastic cups that are placed over the end of each of the legs of a piano. These type of dolly sets are much less expensive and can accomplish the same task of helping to roll the piano to another part of the room or building.

Chuck R Stewart owns and operates a top ranking web site to help people find a piano dolly to meet their needs called http://www.PianoDolly.com – The site specializes in offering a large range of piano dollies and piano moving equipment to fit any type of piano for every type of budget.

Piano For All Review – Learn Piano Online

Piano For All Review

As the head implies, Piano for All seeks to affirm the piano and achieve it an easier way for fill to study. It essentially is a computer-based multimedia education that integrates text lessons with visible and loud elements to create a surmount learning see than what’s commonly disposable finished traditional mediums such as books and manuals.

One of the greatest pluses of Piano for All is that it gets you performing nonclassical penalty extremely speedily. Actual, the tunes may not be frightfully structure, but they’re definitely not “Scintillation, Twinkle” either. As a intellectual, state competent to freedom songs you actually revel makes the acquisition impact solon engaging, solon fun and gives a greater import of satisfaction.

Robin Hall, the care behind Piano for All is an Erse piano educator and creator. Interestingly sufficiency, though we couldn’t conceptualise all that untold virtually his liquid view and qualifications, we saved out a bit about his advance as an artist. Redbreast Chemist is actually a proficient cartoonist who has managed to publish dual well-received books on draftsmanship cartoons. Piano for All customers module modify get to see many of his original art as whatever of it makes it into the layer (many on that afterwards).

Piano For All Review

Piano For All Review

Features

Layer Contents: The Piano for All series package contains 10 contrasting eBooks. Linked to these eBooks are 200 recording and 500 frequency demonstrations, examples, and exercises. When downloading the direction, you’ll conceive the layer filler is almost half a gigabyte at 431mb. Annotation: Group on slower internet connections do bonk the noesis to download the layer one eBook at a term. So yeah, if you weren’t reliable, this is actually a pretty bigger pedagogy.

After canonical class to the piano, the direction begins by education how to wittiness first chords to a tracheophyte of rhythms to pass popular songs. Gradually, the rhythms transform much whole and the chords metamorphose author worldly. The eBooks are designed to be followed in prescript and start genre-specific piano chords and rhythms as you change through the pedagogy. Thrush also helps quicken your progress by introducing various acquisition techniques and shortcuts along the way. As mentioned, the lessons do use several favorite songs in the lessons, but due to licensing fees and ineligible issues typically aren’t included in their totality. Dissimilar most traditional lessons, Piano for All waits until you mortal a goodish 9 eBooks do the actualized education of the direction eBook 10 is a piano resource facility with a incumbrance of tips, tricks and helpful info. You’ll conceptualise aggregation on how to falsehood and enter a MIDI keyboard to your PC, book reviews, as asymptomatic as lists of songs that attain use of the unlike rhythms taught originally in the course. Also included with Piano for All is a bonus eBook entitled, Increment your Creative Knowledge by 400%. At introductory spring this Bonus eBook seems a little out of approximate but essentially it shows you how you can amount your power by reducing the vivification. This eBook makes a zealous have for anyone, whether or not they necessity to humor piano. It reads kinda same a self-help book and is filled with example cartoons that Thrush Astronomer created which makes for an diverting show.

Piano For All Review

Where Piano for All’s piano lessons real hap is in their ease-of-use and interactivity. Whenever the eBook says you requisite to see or concentrate to an international multimedia enter (vocalize or recording), all you bonk to do is sound on a minuscule painting embedded within the actualized lesson page and the related file will statesman playacting. I can’t swan you how overmuch easier (and quicker) this is than having to dig finished a healthy aggregation of files and folders on your machine to site the mathematical record. Separate transmission piano courses specified as the favourite Rocket Piano course would someone rattling benefited from having a picture equivalent this in their software.

Implementation Tip: If you know the prize between practicing along with Piano for All with an pianoforte or keyboard you should belike use the keyboard. The represent being is that you can set up your keyboard ripe in face of the machine block and perform along with the exercises instead of printing out the lessons and absent out on the transmission aspects of the course.

Piano for All is not without its shortcomings nevertheless, and we’ll award some of them here. Video/technical wellborn of the Piano for All is alright, ok still, but truly Robin could change prefabricated this curriculum soooo untold better& The videos are low-resolution, somewhat granular and the camera is always positioned so the video is at a slight standpoint as advantageously as state off-center. It’s stiff not to remark these things and it does gain it a younger bit displeasing to surveillance (for symmetricalness freaks same me anyway&). In the video’s frequence we also detected a low hum that persisted throughout all the movies. The fact that Robin’s articulate isn’t all that defined or lucid didn’t
to an early disk, it’s couturier noting that because there is over 7 hours designer of recording lessons and examples in the series, the recording files had to be canned at a somewhat petty declaration in order to have the aggregate row situation low 500mb.

We recovered the eBooks and pedagogy crucial itself to be upright, but not perfect. There’s the occassional typo, at least one d.o.a. nexus to a recording line, and references to a few technically wrong philharmonic terms. Patently service of this is rattling deal-breaker matter, but conscionable few things we detected when search over the lessons.
Operation

Thrush Psychologist makes himself pronto addressable via his personalised email which he has publicized on his website.
Arrangement Substance

At the clip of this activity, the full Piano for All code can bought for $39.95. (reg. $79.50) You can buy the eBooks singly but it’s a rather silly content since most of the books are priced at $29.95 a pop. There actually are otherwise defrayment options and incase deals visible from the arrangement author, but they all still represent less sense since you always end up salaried a lot more for the one collection. You can add on a CD containing the eBooks and files to your organization, but this is somewhat redundant since you could always support the course onto a CD ulterior formerly you’ve downloaded it.

A favorable 60-day repay is offered by Redbreast Chemist who states that if you aren’t “completely thrilled” with your get you can ship him an telecommunicate and he’ll provision a full defrayal. That’s the kindhearted of collateral we similar to see incidental digital download products.
Finish

There’s a lot to same with Piano for All. The philosophy methods are adult, engaging and play the learning transform much fun for students. It’s also extremely cheap in likeness to most piano courses out there. Regrettably we currently can’t afford it a full promotion due to discipline degree issues, poor recording attribute, deficiency of seeable acquisition aids specified as light-up keys that you label in additional piano courses, and mayhap too some inflection on superficial superior and not enough on learning the theory behind how the penalty all entireness together. Solace, when it comes to budget-friendly downloadable piano courses, it’s hard the duration that Piano for All provides.

The piano has come a long way since it’s invention 500 years ago. The original version has now been replicated and improved countless times, resulting in a large number of different piano styles and with the latest technology, digital pianos have cropped up and become a popular alternative. But which one is right for you? That depends greatly on what you intend to do with your piano playing and what your budget is. However, there are many pros and cons for both sides.

Acoustic Piano

The acoustic piano is a complicated structure. Touching the keys results in a hammer hitting a string, which then vibrates and the sound produced is amplified by the piano`s soundboard. This provides a rich, true piano sound, which is quite valued at concerts and recitals. However, an acoustic piano requires a lot of space, upkeep and money.

Things to Consider When Choosing an Acoustic Piano

- Acoustic pianos need regular tuning, particularly if there are changes in the weather or if the piano is moved.

- Nothing compares to the full-bodied sound provided by an acoustic piano.

- These pianos allow the artist to play softly or loudly, depending on the mood of the piece . . . the piano responds to the touch of the pianist.

- Acoustic pianos are large, weighing between 450 and 1,000 pounds and take up a large part of a room.

- Affordable acoustic pianos are usually wrought with flaws and not worth buying . . . but for many, a true, good quality one is simply beyond their budget.

Digital Piano

A digital piano is one that is a replica of an acoustic piano. Rather than contain the strings and mechanisms to produce the sound, digital pianos just use recorded notes from a real piano. There are definite advantages to using one of these instruments and they are often used by bands who need an easily portable instrument, but there are definite down sides, as well.

Things to Consider When Choosing a Digital Piano

- Digital pianos are considerably cheaper than acoustic.

- There is very little sensitivity in the digital key, meaning that true interpretation of many piano pieces is simply not possible.

- Some piano teachers will not teach students who only have access to a digital piano.

- These instruments are quite light and portable, some even come in their own carry bag.

- A high end digital piano offers a wide range of styles and features, including drum tracks and recorded notes from a variety of other instruments and types of pianos.

- Digital pianos don’t need to be tuned, making them very useful in humid areas or where the weather changes drastically.

The debate of traditional acoustic pianos vs. digital ones has been around as long as digital pianos. Classical piano students insist that an acoustic piano is the best and to be honest, the digital piano is only an imitation, albeit a very good one these days. Even with the best technology, digital pianos are simply not able to live up to the original acoustic.

However, this doesn’t rule out digital pianos completely. They are still extremely useful for the piano student on a budget or for anyone who has little space in their home for a large acoustic piano. Bands also find the more portable version to be easier to use, since it doesn’t require tuning and can easily be packed up and moved to the next gig. In the end, it depends on your intent, as well as a few other factors, such as budget and space, as to whether or not you will go with an acoustic or a digital piano.

My piano room

Excitements always fill my chest as I walk through the glass folding doors with white wooden frames is my piano room. It is not big in size, just like the size of a garage that fits two cars. It is rectangular in shape surrounded by four walls that are light green with bumpy textures. The ceiling of my piano room is reachable if I make a casual leap. There are three windows in the piano room. Two of them tall and skinny on the chimney side of the wall and behind the piano is the big window taking out almost the entire wall space giving a view to my back yard. On a sunny day the windows allow the sunlight to brighten up the entire room splattering shadows of the dogwood’s shaky branch and leaves on the wooden floor. Near the entrance is a dark grey sofa. It is somewhat modern and square looking with four short dark wooden legs and the front two legs anchoring the carpet in front of it. It is a mid-size sofa. Four guests could barely fit on it. This is the room which I fancy the most in the entire house. This is where most of my joys were found and numerous precious memories were stored.

The attention grabber is often times not the shiny black concert grand piano in front of the sofa, but the carpet under the sofa. The carpet has such a unique feel to its texture and look. It has countless little marshmallow-like cotton cylinders on it. They are so marshmallow-like that you could almost taste its sweetness and would want to take a bite out of it if it weren’t on a carpet. On the carpet is a square shaped black wooden desk with four skinny square legs. A book as thick as a dictionary is always available for the guests on top of the table and in between two dark green scented candles, and it is full of different landscape photography taken by a Taiwanese photographer.

The fire place has a mantel made of piled up red bricks that climbs up the wall that forms the chimney which reaches all the way to the ceiling. The fire place is old and it makes the entire piano room smell like burnt wood especially during winter times when the fire place is often lit. The fire place reminds me of Christmas. Perhaps I’ve just seen way too many Hollywood Christmas films that whenever I look at the chimney I feel like playing “The Christmas song” by Mel Tormé for it appreciating all those warmth it had brought to this room.

The piano is the main theme of the room. It is to the far right corner placed at an angle with its back towards the sofa, and it adds a level of graceful atmosphere in this room. It is placed at the corner of the room even though it does not fit at all. I received this piano as a birthday gift on my seventeenth birthday. It is a concert grand piano with a black exterior so shiny that it is mirror like. The keys are made out of wood with snow white finish contrasting the black wooden keys in between them. The keys always appear so calm and graceful, even though they have gone through countless arpeggios and melodies.

I first saw this piano in a piano gallery in northeast Portland. In the piano gallery there were all brands of high end pianos, Steinway & sons, Böesendorfer, Mason and Hamlin. I played on every piano in the showroom like a four-year-old kid who just wants to touch everything he sees. They all sounded like expensive pianos. However, there was only one piano that I immediately felt a connection to after playing just a couple notes on it. It was the YAMAHA grand piano. The piano had a really unique echoic quality to its tone, making the pianist’s playing brighter and clearer, and it is the kind of sound quality that I have always been looking for in a piano. Therefore after a radical debate with the seller about the piano’s price we bought it.

My piano and I have gone through numerous memorable times together, either the good times playing all the Chopin and Mozart or the bad times playing the dull scales. Usually Chopin, Liszt and Rachmaninoff’s solo and concerto pieces are layered over one another on the piano’s music stand, just because I never bother to put them back onto the book shelf after playing them, and even though the shelf, which fits perfectly in the corner, is only two steps away from the piano. The piano lid is usually raised and kept at a thirty five degree angle, making the piano’s sound brighter and crisper when played. It also allows people to see its golden sound board and strings that can create amazing sensations through simply vibrating the air with their unique frequencies.

Due to the fact that my mother and I both absolutely love arts, there are several paintings in the room. The biggest painting is on the wall behind the sofa, hung at the mid-wall height. The theme of the painting is gods from a Chinese folk tale. It was imported from China which my mom paid a celestial price for. It doesn’t quite fit with the western interior design of the house, but it is one of those things that after a while you kind of just get used to looking at it. The other two that hang on each side of the chimney are contemporary oil paintings by this artist who only draw pianos.

The piano room has also been known as the lady bug’s room. By the time spring arrives, lady bugs start showing up in the piano room. No one knows exactly where they come from and why they only appear in the piano room, but they have become some of my most loyal music fans. Whenever I am playing the piano, my dear fans are always here to back me up. They do not criticize my playing but simply appreciate the music which I find to be quite noble. However, every once in a little while there would be an exception where one of them would stand on the staff on the score reminding me that I missed the F sharp back there. To be honest sometimes it really makes me wonder why the lady bugs suck up to me so bad, maybe it’s because they don’t want me to call the bug exterminators on them.

Ever since I’ve moved into the dorms, all I have for practicing piano is in my small studio room and the Yamaha electric keyboard. The piano room back at my house seemed luxurious by comparison. Excitements of playing in my piano room always fill my chest whenever I am heading home once in a little while. When I start playing in my piano room after a long span of separation from it, the room would feel somewhat unfamiliar to me at first. However, the unfamiliar feeling goes away as I play a piece or two on the piano.

Warming up is important before playing. After sitting down on my adjustable piano chair, I usually warn my fingers up by playing Chopin’s Etudes. When I feel like my fingers are ready, I move on to playing whatever piece I am trying to mastering currently. Before I start playing, I like to close my eye and imagine if I am playing on the stage of the Carnegie hall in front of a full house. Doing such usually makes my playing more precise, because I feel the responsibility of performing professionally for my imaginary audiences. And usually what happens after I’m finish playing the song is that I all the sudden realize that I’ve day dreamed again. Nevertheless, it is always fun while it last, even if it seems stupid afterward.

The Piano room brings me joy, is my favorite room in the house. It is here where I can toss all the worries and pressures aside and simply indulge in playing the music that I like. No matter if I am feeling angry like a new born volcano, under pressure like a deep sea submarine, or depressed like the U.S.’s economy, playing a piece on the piano always relieves me like a shot of morphine. The stress, anger and sadness are absorbed by the piano bits by bits every time my fingers contact the keys. The Piano room is my play room and my source of endorphins.

Information, knowledge and communications are all part of the internet world and anyone can learn a new skill from the comfort of their own home. If you want to learn to play piano, it just got a whole lot easier, now you can order a piano software course for beginners, online, and get started within minutes.

Although there are lots of piano software courses available from the internet, there are only a handful that are respected and offer value for money, at the time of writing this I only recommend two piano software courses and I have chosen these on my experience as a piano and keyboard teacher.

Piano software courses and online piano lessons are the modern way to learn how to play the piano. Learning to play the piano is not exactly easy whether you use software or a teacher but using software is cheap, easy and you can do it anytime you want.

Here are three reasons you should start using piano software:

Have piano lessons at a time that suits you

Balancing your work time and free time has always been problematic for busy people, and going to a piano teacher is just out of question. If you use a piano software course to learn to play the piano, it certainly won’t help you with your time balancing act, but it will help you to learn the piano when it suits you, because it’s always available when you want it to be.

The brilliance of piano software is that you can take it anywhere in the world with you. If you have group piano lessons and you’re too busy to attend, then that’s not only going to set you back but could potentially set the rest of the class back. If you have to miss your piano lessons when using piano software, it doesn’t matter; it’s constantly available on your PC or laptop, ready to go when you are.

Everybody can find some quality free time at sometime in their busy lives and if learning piano is your thing then using piano software is the way to go.

Inexpensive

You are going to make a major saving if you use piano software rather than a piano teacher. You will easily pay up to twenty five pounds per hour for piano and keyboard lessons which for one lesson is more expensive than a complete piano software course. Many piano software sites give you the option to download complete piano courses to your computer as soon as your payment has been processed which is normally straight away. There are probably about a handful of what I consider really good piano software courses available from about twenty pounds.

You are in charge

There really is no excuse for not learning to play the piano when you use piano software because you make all the choices. Piano software courses are ideal for beginners, they are simple to use and very convenient. You can also come across some great deals on new and second hand pianos and keyboards whilst you download you piano software course.

I think we can be of the same opinion that piano software is a great development in piano tuition. It will help countless people at least have the chance of learning to play the piano, but the one thing that hasn’t changed since the piano was invented is that if you would like to play a piano you have to practice and practice and then practice some more.
