Blocking Inmate Cell Use

A recent surge in cell phone control by state prisons is on the agenda for Texas officials, who urged Congress to allow states to electronically jam cell phone calls made by prisoners. While 28 states want the ability to jam cell phone signals, representatives of the communications industry testified that jamming would not be the best solution to prevent cell phone use by criminals.

Cell-Phone Area Rebuild

With progress comes waiting, and waiting, and waiting...

A new Cell-Phone waiting area is being built for Seattle's Sea-Tac Airport. The current area is closing as of this Tuesday for a roughly 30-day renovation. The Sea-Tac Airport currently offers this area for free to those waiting up to 30 minutes for in-bound passengers. Unfortunately, with the lots being under construction, drivers will need to park within the main garage. This will set you back around $2 bucks for a 30-min park, which will most likely contribute to the new construction costs.

When completed in July, the new 100 space lot will be twice the area of the current one, which will be just north of Air Cargo Road. So, hitch that horse to the post, pay your "temporary" coins and relax knowing your hybrid will be well-rested in a bigger, better parking lot.

On May 22, 2009 a recall was issued on the Jitterbug Cell Phone.

It has been determined that the Jitterbug does not connect to emergency 911 when out of the service distributors range. Instead the cell phone displays an “out of range, try again later” message.

As of today there are no other Samsung wireless phones included in this recall. This recall includes approximately 160,000 Jitterbug Cell Phones purchased between March 2008 and March 2009.
