No Paws Left Behind, Inc. is a focus driven not for profit organization, designed to bring awareness to all communities the silent victims of foreclosure who have no voice or rights to implement change. As a united front, we will restore moral obligations toward all pets that have the potential to be, or have been, left behind to suffer needlessly. We further pledge to act as a support group for those who find foreclosure imminent and need help to find shelter for their beloved pets; be a resource for those who find or know of abandoned pets; and last, but by no means least, we must unite to end the needless suffering by creating a national movement targeting lawmakers to change the laws categorizing pets as personal property.

Pinellas County Paw Playgrounds

The Pinellas County Parks & Recreation Department has opened several Paw Playgrounds. These green fenced areas allow unleashed canines the opportunity to run free. And, when the pet gets hot and thirsty, there are cooling stations complete with showers and dog-level water fountains to cool things off. Owners are required to supervise and clean up after their four-legged friends, and all dogs must be on a leash when outside of the Paw Playground area. Be on the lookout for new Paw Playgrounds opening soon in other county parks.

Introducing Mister Frank!

Frank (aka: Frankie or Mister Frank) is a black Labrador Retriever who is also the biggest cuddly soft-hearted boy you will ever meet. He was also a shelter dog we adopted from the local SPCA, who was rescued from a house that had over 50 other dogs.
At first Frank was very timid and seemed not to be so sure of himself or anything around him (who would be?). But now he has his own personality and is not afraid to share it, since now he knows he is now home and he will not be banished or "get in trouble" for being who he is. As a matter of fact he is actually a very nuturing boy who can have a delicate play toy (his baby) for years because he is so very gentle with them.
So the next time you consider getting a new four legged friend in your home remember to visit your SPCA or other local shelter. There are a lot of treasures of the heart in those shelters if you are willing to "look" with yours.

Sharon Lee, LCSW, is the CEO and Founder of Pet Concierge Tampa Bay, her lifelong dream. She holds a Masters Degree in Social Work and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. As her graduate thesis, she studied, researched and discussed the important link between people and their pets, with regard to physical, spiritual and mental health. Her love of animals led to the creation of a cutting-edge program, Pets Healing People, which became the basis of her work in Pet Therapy. For the past 20 years, she has used her expertise with animals to help both pets and people live better lives.
