I love creating planners, journals, and little paper goodies. What I don’t love? Printing a mountain of pages, managing addresses, and turning my dining room into a shipping department.

Why I Chose StampFans for My PS Planner Zine

If you’ve been around Pepper Scraps, you know I love cute illustrations, journals, and finding little bits of joy in everyday life. I wanted to make a monthly planner that people could actually hold and use, with a fresh theme every month.

My PS Planner Zine combines familiar weekly planning pages with new extras for journaling, goals, tracking, and creativity. For November, I designed a whimsical woodland pie shop with a 30 Days of Gratitude pie and a Dopamine Menu. Because why shouldn’t your planner have its own adorable little world?

Could You Start Your Own Snail Mail Subscription?

Maybe you illustrate whimsical animals, write short stories, photograph flowers, make comics, or have a collection of creative prompts you’d love to share. You don’t have to make planners. Choose something you genuinely enjoy creating.

Start with one format and one idea. You can get fancy later. Trust me, it’s very easy to accidentally invent yourself a 40-hour monthly assignment.

How Much Does StampFans Cost?

StampFans offers free creator signup and, according to the creator terms available when I wrote this, retains $3 per subscriber per month. You choose your subscription price and keep the remainder, subject to the platform’s current terms.

For example, an $8 subscription would leave $5 per subscriber before taxes and any other business expenses. With 25 subscribers, that would be $125 per month. That’s an illustration, not a promise of income. You’ll still need to find subscribers and keep creating.

How to Get Started

1. Pick your creative idea. What would you enjoy sending every month?
2. Choose a format. Postcard, art print, letter, or zine.
3. Set up your creator page. Choose your subscription price and describe what subscribers will receive.
4. Create your first issue. Follow the format specifications.
5. Share your subscription. Let people know why they should join.
6. Upload your finished work. StampFans handles printing and mailing according to its schedule and requirements.

Is StampFans Worth Trying?

For me, the exciting part isn’t just making a subscription. It’s being able to test a physical creative product without paying upfront for a pile of printed inventory.

It isn’t passive income. You still have to make something good, share it, and give subscribers a reason to stay. But the printing and mailing no longer have to be your second job.

I’m still growing my own PS Planner Zine, so I’m not pretending to have all the answers. I am excited that an idea that once felt like too much logistics is now something I can actually try.

How to use the Digital Coloring Book

Print a stack of coloring sheets. Grab whatever markers aren’t dried out yet. (We all have the dried-out marker graveyard drawer. Don’t lie.) Put something spooky on in the background and color until your shoulders come down out of your ears. That’s the whole system. You’re welcome.

Or you can just color it right on your iPad or tablet. I have a full post about coloring on your iPad because that is one way I have been able to color with as little pain as possible. Check it out if you want to learn how to color on your iPad.

I didn’t want this planner to feel like a regular planner with a few pumpkins stuck in the corners. Reading is one of those things for me, even though I know it gives my brain a rest I have to be intentional about making time for reading.

Sometimes adding a little something creative makes me much more likely to actually stop and enjoy it. That’s the idea behind The Romantic Retreat, which I’ve been creating with Leilani Love.

Back-to-school season always seems to arrive with a ridiculous number of dates, lists, appointments, and things I’m absolutely certain I’ll remember. Spoiler alert: I will not.

How to Make Your Printable Stickers

For the best results, print the sticker sheet at 100% or actual size on printable sticker paper (affiliate link). Make sure your printer is set to its highest-quality color setting before printing.

You can cut the stickers by hand with scissors or a paper trimmer. If you have a Cricut or another cutting machine, you can also use the print-then-cut feature for quicker cutting.

If you don’t have sticker paper, no problem. Print the designs on regular paper, cut them out, and attach them with a glue stick or tape runner. Crafting rules are flexible around here.

Planning may not make the school-year chaos disappear, but it can make everything feel a little more manageable. And if a row of tiny owls helps me remember picture day before everyone leaves the house wearing mismatched clothes, I’m calling that a win.
