THE BACKGROUND

Peace talks have been ongoing with the Romulan Star Empire since the Shinzon crisis and Dominion War. Piracy remains high in the area, along with the rise of a number of rogue factions.

The Republic has been tasked with continuing exploration of the Beta Quadrant, originally led by the USS Excelsior decades previously. As a result we aim to continue along the themes of the Star Trek series - focusing on character development, exploration, first contact and discovery, and keeping the weapons ready just-in-case.

World of Chaos

World of Chaos is a role playing game loosely based on the Rifts RPG premise. It is a Post-Apocalyptic Cyberpunk/Horror/Fantasy game. We create characters and write stories based in the Rifts megaverse and other cross-genre fiction.

The premise is very versatile. Stories can be dark or violent, funny or light-hearted, and characters can be heroes or villains. We have power-armored soldiers, psychic vampires, sorcerers, werewolves, cyborgs, mutants, cybernetic augmentations, dragons, multi-dimensional aliens and, of course, humans. You can travel through time and to other dimensions, other worlds and alternate realities. Magic exists alongside highly-advanced technology. Aliens and Robots co-exist with Vampires and Wizards. The world is Earth, but hundreds of years into the future.

Looking for four adventurers for a mission into Geleeda's Grove.

This is a Modern Sci-fi, Here's the overview of the story.

"The year is 2050, the Earth saw the end of the Great Depression which made the recession look minute in 2029 and 20 years on things have changed. To try and deal with the recession countries have merged, collapsed or become super powers, alot of third world nations have fallen, and 5 super powers have formed. The United States, China, Russia, the Middle East and Europe. The balance of power is very thin and tensions would of spilled over if it wasn't for the United Nations. Since the Depression the UN security council was able to pass the creation of a World Security Force called the UNSF and have since been trying to keep the peace with a varied degree of success, much to the super powers annoyances the UN formed a permanant security council of countries that were neutral these were Canada, the United Kingdom (who declined to be part of europe after a referendum), Japan, Australia and India. The tensions though between the Super Powers is about to spill over and one Section of the UNSF has to try and defuse or keep them at bay long enough for the UN to simmer the tensions."

The layout of this is a mixture of Two Arcs, a large arc and smaller arcs which both affect each other.

The large arc is a Nation Role Play, you can choose a smaller country or a Super Power to play as. There are rules for balance for this large arc, but it will affect the smaller arcs.

The Smaller arcs are standard linear stories, these tend to be focused on smaller characters and factions, they will also effect the Larger arc, and vice versa.

We're looking for people who can help to expand this universe (including helping the admins out) and are committed to posting on it.

I am looking for 2-3 players to join the crew of the Starhunter, a group of bounty hunters who travel across wildspace in search of criminals and adventure.

This is a PBeM (Play By e-Mail) game. We use AD&D 2nd-Edition rules, and Player's Option rules are optional. You do not have to be familiar with the Spelljammer campaign to participate.

The game has been running strong for 5 months now with a loyal group of players. There is a high focus on detail and the game runs at a very brisk pace. The current crew have almost completed their second adventure, and have leveled up their characters at least twice since starting just this past July.

Please note that I prefer players who can post once every day, or at the very least, every-other day. Like I said, we are a fast-moving game, and if you cannot post that fast you will just be left behind all the time.

It was bound to happen eventually. Some political incident got blown out of proportion then some country resorted to sending in the troops, which was responded to by somebody else bringing in the troops, then both parties asked some friends to join in and before you know it certain people are threatening the use of nukes.

However in the shadows of this conflict several different threats have appeared. Some how things have gone...awry.

From the dark of space several groups of beings have decided that earth would make the perfect place for them to settle some differences of their own and so their forces come to earth to settle some grudges.

Humanity used to fear the things that dwelt in the dark, and for good reason, and now those things have decided that humanity had better learn to fear them again. So they plot and plan from their hidden places waiting for their chance.

Over time gods and demons have taken an interest in earth and those who dwelt here, but as humanities interest in them dwindled so to did their power but now they too have returned and this time they seek to set things right.

Will humanity survive these challenges? Will you choose a side to stand for or simply bend your neck to whoever triumphs? Only you can decide.

This game is a war game set in an alternate earth where world war 3 is starting to brew up but things aren't exactly quite normal.

I'm looking for people to portray soldiers, politicians and civilians caught up in this war.

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Christopher Boone, and I'm the new CO of the USS Guinevere, an Excalibur-Class starship in TF21 of Obsidian Fleet.

I'm looking for a crew - but, as the title says, not just any crew. I could use some capable simmers to fill the XO and department head positions in particular. By capable, I mean people people who know how to write a character bio that consists of more than one short paragraph in the background section, and who know how to write decent-length posts without having me hovering over their shoulder all the time but who at the same time know when to ask for help when they really are legitimately stuck (hey, writer's block happens to the best of us sometimes!).

I don't want to, by any means, put down newer players who don't quite know how to produce a notable character bio or post yet - we were all newbies once, and I shutter when I think of my own early simming bios and posts. But at the same time, I want to be able to produce a good-quality sim, and as such I fully believe that I'll need a good foundation of capable players in the XO and department head positions (though I certainly won't say no to any experienced player who wants a junior officer position) to help get things rolling, and to help show by example those new to roleplaying how things can be done.

I won't promise that you will have the best time of your life or that the Guinevere will be the greatest OF sim ever (I know that there's a lot of competition for that particular title, and rightly so!), but if you're an experience player willing to do some things that might not normally be done in a Star Trek sim, even in OF, then I hope you'll consider joining the USS Guinevere. Who knows? We just might have a fun time together.

We are looking for a replacement player for Eliania Cythaniel - a female elf who is a bit of a handful. She only posted a couple of time and thus you have room to develop her as you so wish.

Two worlds in one has existed more than time can count and since the "Dividing War" 400 years ago, both humans and elves have lived separately. A natural barrier or mountains have separated the two races, but there are still squabbles and small battles that are soon squashed by kingdoms and rulers.

Race intermixing was prohibited by both sides and death was usually the result of the couple as well as the offspring that was born into the world. It was not tolerated and often believed to be dangerous for the magic of a couple that were truly been joined in elven recognition could produce more than both sides might be able to handle. Of course, both sides had experimented on the side and come up with matches that either bounded the couple so tightly they would not be used as a weapon or the offspring they produced did to show to of use to either side. Of the subjects were killed.

However, what is known by few is that the second part of the prophecy states that a union of elf and humans must happen though recognition either through natural magical course or forced in order to form the perfect weapon against the evil force that will claim both races in the end.

Both races have ignored this part for 3000 years when the prophecy was written down for all to see, but now it can no longer be ignored for the signs of the coming power are already be read by scholars, cloud readers, star readers, readers of the ground and more. All mark that a power so grand is coming and an the force of elf and humans must be connected.

The prophecy is clear that each race must send their best no matter what birth or status. They must be sent the Palace of Ice - created by the Gods themselves to communicate to those worthy enough - it has been vacant for more than 1000 years.

A minimum of one from each human country (5 of them in all) and a minimum of 5 from the elven lands must be represented. An equal amount of women and men must be counted and sent.

If the prophecy is ignored, recognition refused or rejected by any parties by either forced or naturally recognition, both lands will be lost to the power that will consume them.

The prophecy spells out that if rules, customs and williness is not followed then all is lost. That unions and the gifts that each will receive will be unique and that a powerful couple shall rise forth from the union that they will lead the others as well their own countries not just in the battle of the power that will crush them, but a peace and union that both lands have never felt before

It is the time of the Gathering. For those who are not bound by the limits of time or place, New York City has become a recent hotbed of activity that threatens to change the lives of every immortal who treads upon its concrete streets. Do you have what it takes to survive in this modern day urban jungle were one wrong move could mean almost certain death? Is the line between friend and foe, hunter and the hunted really as clear as it appears? Will you be able to keep your secret while upholding a seemingly normal life or have you chosen to walk a darker path? The story is a group of experienced adventurers (level 10-12) has been called back into service by King Araxi the fourth. Description: Chase Away The Light is a roleplaying game for evil characters and parties and played in a free-form style. We don't use any rulebooks or point systems, but we do use a referee to guide play. We are a group of people who are tired of the goody-goody heroes and defense of kingdoms from invading bands of quote/unquote "monsters". Monster is in the eye of the beholder, and Beholders have many eyes...

A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

The Galaxy is amidst a civil war. The Separatist Army continues to advance, as the leaders of the Republic fight amongst them selves. It falls to the Jedi Knights and a Clone army to protect the ideals of a now dying civilization. And even then the Jedi are only a shadow of what they had once been.

Now, a handful of beings finding fault with the galaxy at large, find themselves drawn together in the seedy Coruscant undercity. They are a crude band of misfits ranging from disenchanted Jedi to mercenaries. To survive they take odd jobs that others would consider too dangerous or too unimportant. They are loyal to themselves, each other, and the almighty credit...but not neccessarily in that order.

With luck on their side, the mutants and super-powered may be able to turn the public opinion around... if all goes according to plan.

Unbeknownst to all, Magneto has finally and quietly realized his own personal dream: Genosha. Located in the middle of the South Pacific ocean, the Master of Magnetism has slowly built his Brotherhood of Mutants into a formidable group. With a massive World Conference on the horizon, time will only tell what Magneto has been planning.

In New York City, Tony Stark has been commissioned with a top-secret SHIELD project, codename: Avengers. With the help of the current head of SHIELD, Col. Nick Fury, Tony's mission is to gather the 'best of the best' of the super-powered world, and to take down a big, green, self-aware menace that has been evading SHIELD's forces for over a year.

At the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning, Headmaster Charles Xavier has his hands full dealing with the constant string of government officials and state politicians parading around his mansion, not to mention the new slew of mutants arriving at his doorstep everyday. With more than enough to keep him busy, Xavier is relying on his X-Men to investigate Magneto, and to bring in a few rogue mutants to help.

He decided to head to the mule to figure this out, in the mule he had left his pair of old spotter's glasses - otherwise known as binoculars by most. As he reached the mule he could hear in the background the profound voice of Mr. "not so" Lightener.

The Captain’s eyes were still trying to adjust to the difference when he saw a glint above and slightly to the right.

From Behind Ives spoke, "It isn't Paranoia. It’s our job to get you out of here alive."

Ives wanted out and he wanted out quickly, so he followed close on the Captains heels. It probably wasn't reassuring that there didn't seem to be anyone following close behind.

Joseph decided to pick up Isabelle's assault rifle at this point and didn't care who saw it at this point. The vibes were strange and - crap! He forgot! His wide grey eyes darted to the windows. GONE! They were both gone! He turned to yell out a warning but exploding building parts seemed to have a tendency to make it so people couldn’t hear you.

Welcome to Fading Sun, a PBEM set within the Firefly universe shortly after the end of the movie. We are a story oriented group focused on telling our own story within this rich and wonderful setting. There are random elements hidden behind the scenes, but that should not stop anyone from being able to write and have fun.

We recently lost a few people in the wake of the end of our introductory mission, and wanted to grab some more crew members for the exciting story arc that is planned for our ship and crew. Everyone's been to high school, that's nothing new. But ask yourself something. When you were in high school, did you:

*Fight gigantic worm/human hybrids, drug dealers, monsters and rampaging supervillains?
*Help save people from flash floods, freak blizzards and unnatural earthquakes?
*Survive a house of horrors created by a diabolical madman and his fanatic cult?
*Halt the doomsday plans of an eco-terrorist cell situated in Germany's farm country?

If so, well, obviously we went to the wrong high school, and we'll be looking forward to reading your memoirs.

But if you didn't, why not put your imagination to work and see if you can change that?

Claremont Academy is a teenage supers game set on the Gulf Coast of Texas in the fictional metropolis of Freedom City. Headmaster Duncan McNeil and a small cadre of teachers and administrators, all of whom have some exposure to metahumanity and superheroics, not only ensure that the newest generation of the protectors of humanity are prepared to put on their costumes and save the world, but that they can do algebraic equations, drive a car and balance their checkbooks as well. We're a steady running (2 1/2 years and going strong) game with a moderately sized player base (35 people) and an average of 80-120 posts per week looking for a little bit of new blood. We are a little more stringent about power selection, but we find that the person that wants to play, say, a fire manipulator has a lot more lassitude and creative motivation when there's not four other people who can do the same thing.
