If you…

  1. Use MS Virtual Machine 2007
  2. Are running Windows 2003 in the VM
  3. Elect to suspend your VM rather than shut it down when you’re done with it
  4. Can’t access a share on it after a day or two of not using it

...then try logging on to the box and updating the date to the current date. I’m finding that if I haven’t started the VM up in a couple days it will not sync with internet time. And when the date gets out of whack like that I’m totally unable to authenticate against it when trying to access any of its shares.

Once I get the date up-to-date the authenticate works right away without having to reboot anything.
