In my opinion, many manufacturers nowadays inevitably face the following challenges:
.
- Selling a minimum number of units per model and size to make a profit.
- For models from around Mid-B upwards, sales figures for the 20 established manufacturers are mostly declining – except for the five topsellers in the High EN-B class.
- We pilots have an excessive amount of trust in the latest products, especially regarding performance! So, for the customer's sake, something new is needed every now and then, even if, pragmatically speaking, the improvement over the predecessor is minimal.

Therefore, I find it quite empathetic of NOVA to vary the concepts of "semi-light," "robust", "performance-oriented", "agile", "carefree damping," etc., for us customers. This increases the chances that every four to five years, each pilot will find the perfect glider from one of their three preferred brands.
Compare the number of current models from brands like Phi, Niviuk, and Swing with those from Advance and Nova in 2010. Have so many new pilots emerged in the last 15 years who can precisely define their ideal glider? If the average pilot needs three gliders at once to choose the right one for each situation, shouldn't manufacturers be able to offer us a wider range of options?
.
I shortened the wingtip bridles by 7 cm and then the next two brake lines by 3.5 cm. To summarize, I unpicked the splice before the last four small wingtip lines, shortened it by 7 cm, and then sewed it back on. I did the same for the splice holding the next two small lines.

So, six small brake lines were shortened: four by 7 cm and two by 3.5 cm. Initially, I wanted to shorten them by 10 cm, but that seemed too much.
As a result, it feels like a completely different wing. The wingtip pitching is gone, a little brake input, and everything is calm. It turns faster, the brakes had to be raised by 5 cm and are a bit stiffer, but now I have more control over my wing with less deflection.
Arms high, the trailing edge is perfectly straight. Actually, originally it didn't have enough wingtip lift.
In his test, it's Luc from Ozone who gives him this advice, but obviously, it's not a matter of recommending it to everyone since it's a modification made not to the trim, but even in terms of brakes, it's a modification.
A high-magnification monocle to undo the four splices, a needle, a bit of thin polyester thread, and an hour's work. I didn't cut the 7 and 3 cm that are now dangling; everything is reversible.
