Soldier Boxes for Kuwait 2011 Sunday December 4, 2011

Sunday December 4, 2011, after the morning service, we will assemble boxes for 160 of our military personnel stationed in Kuwait. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall and start the assembly line to fill all the boxes with many goodies but mostly with our love and prayers.

They will be filled with sox, candy, home-made fudge & cakes, blankets, sunflower seeds, mm’s, candy-canes, a letter from Pastor Mike and a New Testament of the Bible (includes the salvation plan).

Monday all the boxes will be taken to the main post office and will hopefully be in Kuwait by Christmas.

I am so proud of the Paradise Church family and many other friends that have come together to donate $50 per box to cover the cost of the items and the shipping. You can still get in on this blessing by making your check out to Paradise Church and note it for the Soldier Boxes.

May our God bless all our soldiers serving all over the world but especially those in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait. May they be smart, strong and safe and may they all come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Children Of The World

Children of the world is a concert performed by orphaned children from Africa. It is meant to help raise AIDS awareness throughout the world. The concert will be at Paradise Church on Thursday, October 1st @ 7pm. A love offering will be taken to help support their ministry.

Memorial Service for Leslie’s Mother Pamela Iverson

The memorial service for Pamela Iverson, Leslie Wood’s mother, will be at Paradise Church on July 11th at 11am. Please pray for the service as there will be many unsaved people in attendance.

Father-Son Activity: Fun in the Son

On Saturday, June 20th at Paradise Church, there will be a father/son activity from 11am – 2pm. Tickets are $5 per person which includes lunch and a raffle ticket. Come prepared with a towel and sunscreen. There will be games for ages 10 and up, but there will be plenty of activities for the younger ones too. All fathers and sons are welcome.

A Biblical Worldview

Everyone has a worldview. Whether or not we realize it, we all have certain presuppositions and biases that affect the way we view all of life and reality. A worldview is like a set of lenses which taint our vision or alter the way we perceive the world around us. Our worldview is formed by our education, our upbringing, the culture we live in, the books we read, the media and movies we absorb, etc. For many people their worldview is simply something they have absorbed by osmosis from their surrounding cultural influences. They have never thought strategically about what they believe and wouldn’t be able to give a rational defense of their beliefs to others.

The purpose of our Christian Apologetics ministry is to equip people to think and live with a consistent and cohesive Biblical worldview… In other words, “We believe that…”

Financial Strategies Class

This class will cover all aspects of Christian Stewardship. From budgeting to investments… Asset protection to trusts.
You will be helped tremendously in the areas of your finances.

A New Kid By Friday

Teacher: Bob Failing
Room: 109

Bob and his wife Wendy have a wonderful family with very well disciplined children ranging in age from 7 to 20 years old.
This class will only last for six weeks, but it will cover discipline and leadership that parents need so that you’ll have a “new kid” by the end of this class. Perhaps even sooner.

Fundamentals of the Christian Faith

Instructor: Davy Wood
Room: 103

All newer Christians or those believers that have not grown systmatically since they were saved need to attend this class. It will last all summer long and will cover the “Fundamentals”… the important doctrines that we all need to know and understand.

Last Week of Small Groups

This will be the last week of regular meetings for all small groups. They will however, be meeting (at least) once a month for fellowship and for an opportunity to bring a friend to get to know some of the group. Each leader will have a brief lesson to talk about when the groups do get together. We will start up our full time small groups again right after school starts in September.

Help KidZone Support Our Troops!

The kids in KidZone are collecting care package items to send to our Paradise Family Members who are serving in the armed forces. See the ushers or the info booth for the list of items to be sent. See Teena Oglesby if you would like to add your family member to the list.

Not only are we collecting care package items but we also want to include letters, cards, and appreciation notes with each package. Last day to collect the items will be Sunday, June 28th. Bring items to the 1st-5th grade Sunday School Class in Room 207 (upstairs).

Thanks for your prayers and for helping our younger members learn to give.

LifeChange Ministry Opening Night – May 28th

LifeChange is a generational worship service for teens and young adults. Opening night is Thursday, May 28th @ 7:30pm and every Thursday night thereafter. Come to take part in passionate worship, relevant Bible teaching, and more. LifeChange Ministry is a place where you can worship God with other people and be challenged in your Christian walk. If you are exploring spirituality, it is also a wonderful way to get introduced to what it means to be a passionate follower of Christ.
