Image is from the Butterfly Collage set from I Brake For Stamps. Stamped with Memento black on some wax paper that had been smooshed into various acrylic paints and then allowed to dry. A surprisingly cool background. I always smoosh whatever is handy in to the acrylic paints to I don’t waste it and you never know what you will end up with. Layers are Abysse and Noir Sparkle from Paper Temptress. Sparkle is my favorite paper. I return to it over and over and over again. I love the look and the smooth texture. I stamp on it all the time. Love the Sparkle line.

Nuts About Sketches Week 99

Nuts About Sketches Week 99 is a wonderful 2 page sketch. You can do just one page if you would like. The ist page is Solar White Thick Columns. The photos are matted with Basis Brown. I used a 12 x 12 Greenbrier Grandee Felt sheet for the border stips that are topped with parts from SU Simply Scrappin kit. The title is on Silver Lustre that was stamped with Vintage Labels by Stampin Up. The tags are SU retired. The letters were punched using Doodle Dots die on Crystal Metallic. The journal boxes are on Crystal Metallic. The second page is on Red Pepper Thick Columns 12×12. The Tigger and Winnie Pooh image were emboosed with a Cuttlebug folder and colored with chalk on Crystal Metallic.

Or should I say Tea bags since that is what we are talking about today, tea bag folding! I have said this b4 and I will say it again, I have the greatest customers on earth! Very often I go out to my mailbox to find gems from my customer and this day’s gem was spectacular and different. Barbara sent me the 2 cards below and she is a tea bag folder. We started talking a few weeks ago when she was interested to see if PaperTemptress by chance carried a thin Glossy sheet. Of course since PaperTemptress carries the largest selection of specialty cardstock anywhere the answer to that question was yes, the Pure White Gloss was exactly what she wanted and used on these amazing cards. Barbara needed something thin that she could run thru her ink jet printer to print the design, then she folds and this is what happens!

Isn’t it amazing, and it looks so much better IRL. I was stunned over how pearlescent the paper is. My jaw dropped when I opened this package. Then I got this one and I am totally addicted now!

So be sure to tell you teabag folding friends out there that PaperTemptress carries the PERFECT paper for teabag folding!

Making a match

This weekend, I sewed a little covered stenobook for a friend and needed a matching card to deliver with it when I went to a party last night.

You can catch some of the shine in the pink and cream papers. This matches the fabric perfectly! Although it is a simple card, the colors and textures bring it to life.

Papers Used:

Classic Columns in canyon brown for the base and spring green accents

Double sided Watermelon/Mango

Rose Quartz Mica/Metallic

Candido Incandescent

Papers are: Matte glossy sprayed with various glimmer mists. Black Ruche as my photo corners and black layer. Cappucino as my gold layer. Edges are brushed with different Brilliant inks. Image is stamped with Versafine and embossed with clear embossing powder. I just love the combination of different textures and the Matte Glossy loves the Glimmer Mists.

Where There Is Love

I stamped my Lady image from the 20’s Ladies Plate from The Artistic Stamper on Sparkle Blanc. The heart layer is the Heart background from The Artistic Stamper stamped on Sparkle Noir with acrylic paints. The card base is also Sparkle Noir. The red layer is Sparkle Vermilliion. The gold layer is Gold Sparkle (text weight).

Never Enough…

Today I have fallen in love with two items. First… the GORGEOUS Mica/Metallic paper that Patricia has!! OMGosh when she sent me samples of them… I thought I died and went to heaven. I LOVE sparkle! I LOVE glimmer! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Metallic papers!!!!!

Second, I fell in love with Nina Brackett’s newest stamp set from Gina K Designs, “Lovely Labels”. This set is sooooo perfect for showing off those papers and leaving just a simple message on the front that has so much presence.

My main purpose for this card was to show off this awesome metallic paper!!! I used the Lapis Lazuli for my card.

I didn’t want to do the whole front in it because I felt that was just overpowering to drown it in so much sparkle. Still… I wanted just enough to really make it stand out and add shimmer to my design. This is FABULOUS paper!!! I truly don’t think I CAN have enough of it in my arsenal!!!

And just so you can really see it’s shine… here’s a close up. YUMMY!!!

Yellow mat is Lemondrop Pop Tones which is one of the colors that PaperTemptress carries in both 65# and 100# making it perfect to use the 100# for the card and the 65# for the perfectly matching envelope!

PaperTemptress Crystal Clear

HUGE APOLOGY….This card and posting was done by our Holley and I failed to mention that when I first posted it! I am sending myself to bed with no dinner, I am a bad girl! I am so sorry Holley!!

This card is made from a clear sheet that folded in half. I love the way the card looks while it’s closed. I layed some objects on the top of the card and other items on the inside of the card. All items were adhered to the Crystal Clear with glue dots.
Here’s a photo of the inside of the card. I used nestabilities to cut out the scalloped rectangle. When closed, this rectangle severs as a border for the image. I also put flowers on the top layer of the card. The paper used for the inner layer is called Tuscan Sun Brawny RC 100. I cut out a small rectangle from the Black Felt Grandee and Neenah Classic Crest Solar White where I stamped the image “Hello”

Another Bday

Another birthday but this is for my 3 year old (blue eyed) Grandson! I mention blue eyes since I have blue eyes and wanted a blue eyed child bad but never had one. Now I FINALLY have a blue eyed grandchild. Now his eyes are much prettier then mine so I don’t think he got my blue eyes but they are blue! Right, that is all that matters! He is so cute and funnier than you can imagine. He also loves animals, in fact, his favorite stuffed animal is an alligator! Seriously an alligator LOL!! So I knew he would love this card using several of Dustin Pike’s digital images. This was a really fun card to make!

I just got these alphabet stamps and I just love them! I think they are some of the cutest alphabet stamps made today! They are Penny Black’s new Zoophabet. I had to have these stamps, I was still even in my no new stamps mode but there were a must have for my stamp collection. Here is why…..

The coloring isn’t the best but aren’t the letters just too cute, especially for children. This is the inside of the bday card.
