Paperpile is a modern reference manager that helps to organize your references and PDFs of scientific articles. This release marks the first public beta version for OS X and a major update to the previously released versions for Linux. We are working on a Windows version and hope to release it early next year.

Paperpile is still in beta testing phase. Any of your feedback is important and will be heard.

Paperpile 0.4 beta for Linux is available for download at http://paperpile.com/beta. This first release is Linux only. We want to ask all Mac and Windows users for a bit more of their patience. We hope we have Windows/Mac versions for you to test very soon. In the meantime, we have put some screen-shots on paperpile.com/beta to give you an idea what this is all about. Needless to say that -- after 18 month of development and internal testing -- we are very excited to give Paperpile in the hands of actual users. There are still rough edges but we have reached a point where we think only external beta testers can find real-life bugs that we have not seen so far. So please help us finding us as many bugs as possible. We will give our best to fix them all and quickly iterate towards a 1.0 stable release. We're also brainstorming new features to add -- in particular, we want to use the beta testing phase to identify missing features which you personally would consider to be essential to start using Paperpile on a regular basis. We have set up a feedback and support forum at http://paperpile.uservoice.com and would ask you to post all your ideas and questions there.
