Chop onions and grind it to paste. Prepare tomato puree from the tomatoes. Grind cashewnuts to paste. Heat oil and ghee in a pan and add cinnamon and cloves. Add onion paste and fry for some time. Now add the ginger, garlic paste and fry again for some time. Now add tomato puree. Continue to fry till the oil gets seperate and then add turmeric, chilli powder, dhania and jeera powder. Then add cashews paste to the masala. Add milk , cover it with a lid and cook in a slow flame till the masala is well cooked. Add paneer cubes along with garam masala powder, kasoori methi, salt and curry masala . cook for 5 - 10 minutes or till the oil comes on top. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves. Delicious paneer butter masala is ready. Serve hot with Chapati or naan.

Tips:

For more rich gravy you can add fresh cream instead of milk. If you need more gravy, you can grind 1-2 tsps of coconut along with cashews. You can fry the paneer in oil or use fried paneer and add them to the gravy too. In that case the pieces turns hard and don't absorb the gravy while cooking. An alternative approach is to fry the paneer cubes, soak it in some water for 2 mins and then drain before adding it to the gravy.

How to make Paneer Tikka at Home

Ingredients to make Paneer Tikka at Home:

500 gms Paneer

2 capsicum (Green Pepper)

2 Onions chopped in slices

3-4 crushed Garlic cloves

2 Lemons

4 tbsp oil

2 tbsp red chilli sauce

1 tbsp soy sauce

2 tbsp tomato ketchup

1 tbsp pav bhaji masala

1 tbsp amchoor powder

1 tbsp salt or according to the taste

1 tbsp chat masala

1/2 tea spoon of red food colour(optional)

1 tbsp turmeric powder

1 tbsp red chilli powder

How to Make Paneer Tikka at home:

Cut paneer into small cubes for paneer tikka

Cut bell pepper and onions in squares.

Mix all the other ingredients with the cubes of paneer, onion and bell peppers so that all the cubes are properly coated with the mixture.

Leave it to marinate from 1 to 2 hours.

Pre heat the oven at 350F and bake the cubes for 30 mins.
