It’s official the Palm Pre will be officially available to Canada on August 27th through Bell Mobility! If you live in Canada and you really want the Palm Pre, I suggest you order it now at http://pre.bell.ca. The Palm Pre in Canada costs $199.95 and requires a three-year contract with a minimum 500 MB data plan.

Palm Pre for $99 at Best Buy (Updated)

Best Buy is selling the Palm Pre for $99. It’s not advertising it online or in their weekly ad, but you can get it from your local store for this price. With less than 2 months since the release of the Palm Pre, it’s price has already dropped by $100. We do not know if this is a permanent price change yet, and this is only available at Best Buy retail stores. If you want to get a Palm Pre, I suggest you go to your local Best Buy store and buy one today. $99 is a pretty good deal for this!

Update: Best Buy’s John Bernier tweeted that it’s a pricing error and a mistake on Best Buy’s part. If you managed to get the Palm Pre for $99 consider yourself lucky!

GSM Palm Pre launching in Europe with O2 and Movistar

Palm recently announced in a press release that they will be launching the Palm Pre in GSM form in the UK, Ireland, and Germany exclusively on the O2 network, and in Spain exclusively on the Movistar network by the end of this year. No pricing has been announced yet.

I got my Palm Pre!

After hours of waiting in line I finally got my Palm Pre and Touchstone charging dock from Sprint! The Sprint store did not disclose how many Palm Pres they had but fortunately they had enough for the huge line of people that were waiting. The Palm Pre was $299.99 ($199.99 after $100 Mail-In-Rebate) and the Touchstone charging dock was $69.99. I’ll be playing around with the Palm Pre this weekend and making helpful tutorials/videos for new Palm Pre users. I’ll also try to have a review up sometime this week. Did you get your Palm Pre? Tethering

Tethering is possible on the Palm Pre but we don’t know if Sprint will be allowing us to use tethering on the Palm Pre or not. The Sprint website did advertise tethering on the Palm Pre via Bluetooth/USB on their website but they removed it later. Today Sprint Chief Service Officer Bob Johnson said that tethering will be available through Sprint, and unlike Verizon or AT&T it will allow customers to connect the Palm Pre to their laptops in order to surf the Web over Sprint’s 3G network. Engadget was told the opposite, so we don’t know whether or not this is true. Bookmark this page/subscribe to the RSS feeds to get updates on when/if tethering will be available.

Woman drove car into a Cellphone store for a Palm Pre

Looks like someone was desperate for a Palm Pre. There is no need to hurry, if you know about the Palm Pre you will most likely be able to get it tomorrow. Locate all the stores carrying Palm Pre in your area and decide which ones you’ll go to tomorrow. I hope that lady gets her Palm Pre.

An elderly woman apparently couldn’t wait to get her Palm Pre from a Calumet Park cell phone store. She only suffered a few scratches, but the store didn’t fare so well.

The woman drove her car right into the store, smashing the front windows and stopping completely inside. Employees Jesus Leal Jr. and Rich Kelly were inside when they got the surprise of their lives (watch the video at left to see what we mean).

“It was a complete shock … they helped her out of the car and 30 seconds later police and fire dept got all here,” Kelly said.

“The best way I can put it is when you’re watching a movie and you see a car go through a display, it’s everything’s in slow motion. You didn’t look, you just see glass shattered everywhere,” Leal said.

The store, at 12842 S. Ashland Ave., is getting ready to release the new Palm Pre on Saturday. They said they’ll clean up and hope to be able to reopen by 8 a.m.

Will it Blend?

Will the Palm Pre blend? That is the question! Tom Dickinson from Blendtec likes to show off his Blendtec and blend various items. He’s blended the iPhone 3G, and the iPhone before and there’s no doubt that he will be blending the Palm Pre this time as well. Rumor has it that the Palm Pre is stronger than the iPhone and that it may not blend with Blendtec. Do you think this is true? The only way we’ll find out is when Tom Dickinson from Blendtec blends the Palm Pre with the Blendtec blender and uploads a YouTube video online. If you really want him to do that, fill out this form and request that you want the Palm Pre blended. If enough people send in requests I am sure he will be blending it really soon. Make sure you Digg this post too so other people find it and send in their requests!

While you’re waiting for Tom Dickinson to blend the Palm Pre, feel free to watch him blending the iPhone 3G in the video below. Remember, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME. This is very dangerous and should only be done by professionals like Tom Dickinson!

Palm Pre not available on Sprint.com on June 6th

The Palm Pre will be out on June 6th but you won’t be able to order it from Sprint.com, you will only be able to get it from BestBuy, RadioShack, and Sprint stores. Sprint did say in their press release that the Palm Pre will be available to order online but not anymore. I talked to Pat L. from Sprint and he said:

You may purchase the phone on June 6 however, it will not be available on line. I do apologize for any inconvenience.

He even showed me the notice that Sprint left in the system:

Will the Palm Pre be available in FDT 6/6/09?
FDT being online sells. Not at this time. Direct the customer to the store locator on sprint.com or to local Sprint store and tell them to call ahead to check availability.
