Professor of Renaissance Studies at the University of Leicester, he is a fellow of the British Academy and a former chair of the Society for Renaissance Studies. In 2012 he was awarded the Longman-History Today Trustees Award for a lifetime contribution to History. In The Hermit in the Garden, his interests in cultural history, architectural history, and designed landscapes converge in a study of the 18th-century craze for ornamental hermits in the grand gardens of Georgian England. Campbell traces the story of garden hermits from their distant ancestors in imperial Rome to their humble descendant, the garden gnome.

And this year, PGMC is injecting a little silver in the rainbow as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of Philly Pride! If you didn't attend last year's party, then you missed seeing PGMC members get all dolled up in their sexiest frocks and set the stage on fire! We've got that and more planned again for this second annual event. This benefit is special in another way- the proceeds will help PGMC offer scholarships to our singing brothers for member dues, concert tuxedos and outfits, and an all-chorus trip next year to Portland, Oregon. So dress up in your sassiest silver duds, bring lots of green bills, and come have a red-hot time with PGMC!!
