The exhibition is organized starting 15^th February till 18^th February, 2013. The timings of the exhibition timings are between 10.30 AM to 8.30 PM.

Indo Pak International Expo is an important trade fair of the leading industrialists from both India and Pakistan and is focused at improving the trade relations between both the countries.

The event was inaugurated by PWD minister of Punjab, S. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon. The products displayed are designer clothes, fashion accessories, textile & garments, home interiors, electronics, handicrafts, health and food products etc.

Many programs are being organized especially for Valentine’s Day.

Every mall and The Archies Gallery outlets are beautifully decorated with love related themes. Archies is decorated and is selling everything from cards, teddy bears to other other gifts. Various night clubs like Brewqmaster, Splitsville are organising special programmes for Valentines Day. DJ
Barkha performed last night at KLUB Kelong, Sarabha Nagar. Florists in the city are doing good business by selling bouquets and flowers.

People also want to make the day of love, a special one. According to the reports of ‘Ludhiana Tribune’ this Valentine’s Day about 250 marriage palaces, hotels and resorts in the city are booked for wedding functions. People now want to make their wedding memorable by getting married on
Valentine’s Day.

Flower decoration is one major part of wedding and having a large number weddings in the city, there is a shortage of flowers. Flowers are especially being brought from Delhi and Kolkata so
as to overcome the shortage.

Gurudwara Dukh Nivaran Sahib is located at Field ganj area of Ludhiana. It is one of the prime religious places in Ludhiana. It is best place to get peace of mind. Listening to hymns of Gurbani is just the best way to get relaxed. People from all across the city and even from other cities visit
here regularly. Daily thousands of people visit here.

Every morning after simran from 00.30 ro 02.00am, paath of gurbani start.

The regular paaath is performed till 10.30 PM but occasionally on Gurpurabs or other programmes the time is always rescheduled. Gurbani kirtan is performed by ‘Ragis’ of the gurudwara or occasionally ‘ragis’ from other famous gurudwaras also come and perform ‘Kirtan’ here. As for people who don’t understand the meaning and words the gurudwara has stated with multimedia projections. It is one first gurudwaras in country to start with LCD projections. Daily ‘Guru Ka langar’ is served to thousands of people. Also it has promoted greenery by installing flowerpots all around the parikarma.

The gurudwara has its own charitable hospital. Gurudwara started with their charitable hospital in 1997. The major motive was to provide medical facilities to all those who can’t afford at much lesser price. The hospital has proper facilities of technology. Radiography machine is a latest addition to the hospital.

The Gurudwara is working for good social causes along with gurbani - following principle of ‘Sarbat Da Bhala’ . Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki Fateh.

After the grand success of ‘A Wednesday’ directed by ‘Neeraj Panday’. He is back with his new film after a gap of four long years. This time, he is out with story which revolves around a real story. The movie is titled ‘special 26’. The cast includes Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Manoj Bajpai, Jimmy Shiergil and Kajal Aggarwal.

The story revolves around a group of fake CBI officers who used to raid big politicians, bureaucrats and businessmen. The story adapted from real story of 1987, a group of 26 people looted people by
conducting fake CBI raids.

Akshay Kumar is playing role of a fake CBI officer, Anupam Kher his deputy. Jimmy Shergill is a  cop and Manoj Bajpai is playing role of a real CBI officer. Kajal Aggarwal plays a role of techer and Akshay’s love interest. The cast acted well. Akshay, Anupam and Jimmy gave justice to their
roles, Manoj gave a great performance.

The music of the film is good. Overall concept of movie is nice and story is great. The music is a good match with background score of 1980’s.

Overall the film is nice and a must watch type.

Ludhiana a beautiful city of Punjab . To make an addition to the beauty of the city theres an add on to the entertainment zones in the city, Omaxe plaza was inaugurated a year back. The plaza is located at Ferozpur Road, opposite Feroze Gandhi Market. It is part of Omaxe reality. The size of mall is about 150,000 sq ft with total of five floors and two basements for ample parking space.

Omaxe plaza was inaugurated in February 2012 with opening of SRS Cinemas. SRS Cinemas is one of the popular multiplex in north India. There are around 12 ‘SRS Cinemas’ in Northern part of India.  SRS is popular among students as it has affordable ticket prices during school/college hours :p as compared to other multiplexes.

Later in June 2012, an addition was made to the mall with the inauguration of ‘Splitsville’. It is a complete entertainment lounge. It has a discotheque, restaurant, a six lane bowling alley and a cafeteria. It is spread over 16000 sq feet. People love doing bowling here as its Ludhiana’s first and only bowling alley. Many bowling championships are organized often. The restaurant food is great and discotheque is considered as best disc of the town. Many famous international DJ’s come and perform here. Many singers even perform here. Recently famous Punjabi singers Sharry Mann, Bohemia performed here.

Presently, SRS Cinemas and Splitsville are running successfully and other retail outlets are to be opened soon. These stores will include national and international brands like spykar, Killer, Woodland, M2k, Archies, Ritu Kumar collection etc. Also there will be a food court in the
mall.

Though the progress of the mall is bit slow if we compare it to other malls but it is growing at steady rate.

Earlier I shared about developments in Ludhiana. Infrastructural facilities are at its pace in Ludhiana. Ludhiana has not only shown remarkable developments in mall, flyovers, expressway or metro project but also in terms of others real estate projects like business towers or residential projects. Big real estate companies are investing in Ludhiana for residential projects or business projects. Ludhiana is targeted as next big city for real estate business of India.

Ludhiana city is the favorite destination for the projects of big real estate companies. Local builders and nationalized builders are more enthusiastically investing in city. Ferozpur Road, Ludhiana-Jalandhar GT Road, Ludhiana-Delhi GT Road, Pakhowal Road and Chandigarh road are major area where the real estate companies are investing. A giant brand in real estate company DLF is coming with their residential and business project in Ludhiana. Also other companies like Omaxe had already set up their ‘royal residency’ project at pakhowal road, Ludhiana.

Another big project of Golf View Township is coming up at Ferozpur road. Akme’s project is coming at Ludhiana-Chandigarh highway. Ireo group has its 500 acres township ireo waterfront at Ludhiana-Ferozpur NH 95. Also many business projets are under construction in Ludhiana.
Projetcs like India International Habitat Centre (IIHC), near Jalandhar bye pass are major real estate projects of the city. IIHC will have office space, residential space and even a hotel.

With all these upcoming real estate projets I am desperately wait to see how our city looks 10 years hence.

We often talk about Ludhianvis love for hangout. People go to malls, clubs, and markets for having fun. Some people love to go to adventure parks while others love going for small picnic. Ludhiana has many picnic spots such as Leisure Valley. Ludhian’s leisure valley has no relation with Chandigarh’s leisure valley apart from name :p. People from the entire city love to spend their time at leisure valley.

Located at Sarabha nagar opposite Sacred Heart Convent School, leisure valley is one of the best place for picnic. For those love walking and jogging it is their first choice. People love to come here for morning walk. Lush green lawns and jogging track is the highlight of the park. Many people of all age groups come here in morning and evening for walking, jogging or spending some time away from their busy schedule.

In morning many senior citizens visit here who also visit the place for yoga.

Youngsters and middle age people after having jogging, play frisbee. People have lot of fun here every day but Sunday is best day for picnic here. Families love coming here, spending their quality time and kids playing games. Leisure valley has made many people fitness freaks. In evenings, kids karate classes are done. Children can learn karate and also roller skating as adjacent to leisure valley there’s the biggest roller skating rink of the city. Earlier there was a garden café also along the valley.

On the all leisure valley is good place to hangout but not in rainy season as it lacks proper drainage system. If you also often visit leisure valley, share your experience with us.

Though Ludhiana has many places to hangout but one of my personal favourite is ‘waves mall’ or ‘west end mall’ . ‘Wave mall’ was initially named ‘west end mall’ so mostly it is known as ‘west end mall’. It is located at Ferozpur road, Ludhiana.

Wave mall is part of wave infratech private limited which was managed by liquor baron ‘Ponty Chadha’. Presently wave group is managed by its joint managing director and Ponty Chahda’s son Manpreet Singh Chadha. Apart from Ludhiana, wave mall is present in 3 other cities.

Wave mall is amongst the biggest mall of Ludhiana in terms of capacity. Many events like exhibitions, film promotions and shoot of a song is a regular task at this place. Bollywood’s famous actor Shah Rukh Khan also visited the mall for promotion of his movie few months back. It’s a fun place to hangout. People from far off places in Punjab enjoy coming here. For those who love shopping, the mall is their first choice.

Though wave has many stores but for most people first on list comes wave cinemas. Wave cinemas have 4 screens and its one of the favourite multiplex of ludhiana. There are many food joints or eateries in the mall. My favourite being The KFC :p located on ground floor of the mall. Apart from KFC there are other eateries like McDonalds, food court ‘seven days’, restaurant ‘Punjabi Handi’, ‘cosmopolitian’, disco bar cum restaurant ‘Brewmaster’, ice cream parlour ’swirls’ and coffee chain ‘Barista Lavazza’. Being Punjabi food is thing that fascinates us a lot, so mall has provided us with best eateries.
