Im pretty excited by this release to be honest, a small step into the future ;)

The Man by Omar is definitely one of my top summer jams this year! I just can’t get enough of it and Im beyond excited to get my hands on this bad boy tune on vinyl!

I’ve had sneak preview of his new album too that will be out on Freestyle Records on the 24th June and it’s SO GOOD! I think GP had it has his album of the week on his last show… I love getting excited about new music!

This weekend I’ll be heading east for a much needed boogie!

That’s right, the dope Breakin Bread crew are taking it back to basics and I can’t wait for some friendly company, quality music and to have a dance!

It’s free, so come down and say hello if you’re around! Supper is served from 7pm and the DJs will start playing tunes around 8pm until 1am.

It has been a long time coming, but it is with great excitement that I can tell you that Jazzman Records are finally on Bandcamp!

And if that wasn’t enough, it is with great pleasure we see our new artist, The Sign Of Four, as part of this weeks homepage recommendations!  I urge you to check out the entire show hosted by the awesome Andrew Jervis, who prior to Bandcamp worked at Ubiquity Records. There’s some great picks in there this week with some excellent records, so it really is amazing to have The Sign Of Four in there!

Plus, I think this new feature of having a weekly recommendation show packed with great music that you can find on the site is a fantastic idea – although its a shame you cant embed it…

Anyway, make sure you check out the Jazzman Records Bandcamp page, spread the word and let us know what you think! I know there’s not a lot on there at the moment, but there is loads more coming and we will try to offer physical versions of  some of the releases too in due time too.

In case you missed it this weekend, Black Classical dropped a little musical treat, and no – for once it isn’t some crazy spaced out 8 hour free Jazz mix, its a 30 minute album.

I know most of you guys either love him or hate him, and I do find it hilarious that you contact me when he takes down his mixes and shows, especially since it’s usually the same people who don’t big him up enough for the stuff he makes (in my humble opinion anyway).

Regardless though, you should check out this beautiful release, it will either make you fall even more in love with him or inspire you to write even more dry and sarcastic comments about him.

Probably be the best £4 you will spend this week, enjoy!

Happy 40 shows to me!

Yeah that’s right, im hitting my 40 show crisis this month with Little Miss Sunshiine and it’s a pretty mixed bag of music.

Sadly I didn’t have time to record any talking but you can always listen to some past shows or check out the 2 hour Jazzman takeover if you’re desperate to hear my voice.

It’s not often I get the chance to big myself up, mainly because doing so makes me feel slightly awkward…

But I just found out that I made it into the top 10 of Mixcloud’s “Top 30 under 30” list which made me super happy. Especially since other people on the list are The Find Mag, Blast Kid and Bradley Zero - all pretty awesome cloudcasters!
