Wow, 200 is a BIG milestone, but it appears that I didn’t do a 200 worthy photo.

We were hanging out at the beach for the day. With both kids occupied, I picked up my knitting to work on. It was the perfect activity to do. I got over a hump that was stopping me from finishing up a project for Cyprus.

Knitting is such a big part of my life that of course it would show up in my 365 right?

When we are at the beach, Cyprus has a busy agenda that he follows. He must crawl around and explore every square inch of the beach before we leave. I like it because it shows me how independent he is, and it is a lot of fun to watch.

I like this photos because it is such a nice shot of Cyprus playing at the beach. He is also wearing my very favorite diaper, and I think his pose shows it off well.

Another hot day at home drove us to the beach to play. We went to the big beach because it is a little closer to us, and Cyprus was grumpy in the car. The good news is that it has perfect sand for making sand castles, so that is what Daphne worked on.

She just likes to fill the bucket up with wet and and dump it out into a bucket shape. She then smashes it down. We never really got any real progress on a castle made, but there was no lack of entertainment available.

Although Cyprus took his first steps at the beginning of June, he didn’t ever really start walking. He would take a step or two here or there, but it wasn’t even every week that he would attempt it.

Jared’s dad was here for a few days, and we were all sitting in the back room that had the air conditioner on because it was in the high 90′s outside. Cyprus was squatting on the floor then he stood up and walked across the room.

From that moment on, he decided it was time to WALK! He really has been walking almost full time from that point. He knew that he could do it, but it was as if he wanted to wait until he was really competent before he started doing it full time.

I grabbed my camera when he started walking right away, so this is one of his first steps! Doesn’t he look proud?

With it being so hot out, we all just sat around in Jared’s office where the AC is, and we tried to stay cool. I used my camera to take some goofy photos, and we all ended up watching a movie.

Daphne was just being silly, but I love her profile. Her sweet, chubby face is so precious, and I love to run my fingers through her beautiful, blonde hair. She doesn’t like to have people tell her that she is pretty, but I honestly don’t think they can resist!

Cyprus is getting 4 molars in at the same time, and MAN is it hurting him. He is dealing with it pretty well, all things considered, but he has been trying to find things to chew on. This has led to some minor biting and other things. I finally taught him that he needs to chew on a piece of wood if he needs teething help. That has seemed to handle the biting, but he now has a left over habit that I find adorable. When I am laying on the ground, he crawls over to my belly and lifts his head up while saying, "ahhhhh" then he launches onto by belly trying to blow bubbles, "bufh." Over and over, "ahhhhhh bufh, ahhhhh bufh, ahhhh bufh." It is a much more pleasant pastime that biting let me assure you.

We found an amazing little beach by Siletz bay that is perfect for the kids. It is protected, so the tide and the waves aren’t overwhelming. The water is also quite warm, so it is possible to play in the water without getting too cold and beat up.

It was in the high 90′s at home, so the kids and I took off for the beach again to stay cool, have some fun and live some life.

I just thought that this was a sweet picture of Daphne playing around in the sand with a stick.

I try to just let the kids do their own think on the beach, which gives me time to sit back, knit and enjoy watching them play.

It turns out that Cyprus thinks that one of the best beach games is to be buried in the sand. I tend to agree with him, but I enjoyed his laughter as I scooped handful after handful of sand over him while he giggled hysterically. He finally managed to catch on, and he started burying himself under the sand. Very fun.
