Some use top liner only. Some use bottom liner only. Some use a combination of both. Much of that decision is based upon what the individual woman wants to achieve with liner, the time of day it is being worn or the occasion for which it was chosen. The truth is that “why” the liner is worn isn’t nearly an important issue as “how” it is worn.Unfortunately, perfect eyeliner is something that eludes a lot of women. Whether the eyeliner is cream, cake, liquid or powder isn’t really the problem. It lies within the tool used to apply the liner. However, of all the lining choices, powder eyeliner is the one that is gaining in popularity. The reason for that may well lie within the product’s versatility and ease of application.

Determine if pre-existing powder eye shadow can be ground to create powder eyeliner or if existing eye shadow can double as a liner.

Purchase one or two powder eyeliners to try in order to determine which brand works best for you. Also purchase one or more eyeliner brushes to try. Different people find different types of brushes work for them. It is a process of trial and error.

Remove any eye makeup like eye shadow, mascara or other eyeliner from your face.

Grind down a cake eye shadow if that is what to be used. This can be done with a thoroughly cleaned and disinfected knife. Grind only as much powder as will be needed. The remaining powder should be thrown away, rather than risk contamination that might damage your eyes.

Apply the eyeliner powder dry for a soft day look. Wet the eyeliner brush in water and then squeeze out all of the excess, leaving it just damp enough to easily absorb the powder. Dip the eyeliner brush into the powder. Obtain a solid brush coating without too much excess. Starting at the inside corner of the eye, run the brush over the top of the eyelid. Keep as close to the bottom part of the lid (the part closest to the eye) as possible. However, be cautious not to get the ground powder into the eye or it will tear or run, undoing or smearing the liner. For a smoky look, smear the liner ever so slightly with a sponge tip applicator or cotton swab.

Wet the eyeliner brush thoroughly for a heavier, nighttime eyeliner. Be sure to keep the brush wet throughout the application process. Dip the brush into the powder, swirling it to make sure there is a heavy application. On a tissue, smear a bit of the liner to make certain a strong depth of color is being obtained. Once the color is correct, follow the same application procedure as outlined in the step above. Nighttime shadow can be applied in a more intense line width. It can also be applied underneath the eye. For a smoky look, smear the liner with a sponge tip applicator or cotton swab.

Swing the line of the eyeliner up on the outside part of the upper lid for a dramatic cat's eye look.

Mix eyeliner colors together in wet form in order to create a customized color. This technique works well when attempting to match eye shadow or clothing.

Wrinkle free face tips

Once thought of as an indicator of wisdom, today most of us do everything we can to avoid or get rid of wrinkles. Although there are some factors that we cannot control, there are some steps you can take to help protect your skin and prevent the onset of wrinkles. In this article, we’ll take a look at what factors promote wrinkles and how you can lessen your chances of developing them in the future.
As we age, our skin ages all over our bodies, but none so much as the places that are exposed to the sun the most – our faces, hands, or arms. Sun damage, or photoaging, can bring about changes such as dryness or roughness of the skin, skin growths such as keratoses (also known as liver spots), sagginess and wrinkles. Wrinkles can appear in either deep furrows or fine surface lines that are easier to remove with wrinkle creams and treatments.
Unfortunately, there are some factors that determine if we’ll have wrinkles that are out of our control. There are genetic factors, as some families simply wrinkle more than others, while those with fair skin and blue eyes are more likely to suffer from sun damage which can promote wrinkles. This doesn’t mean, however, that those with darker complexions are less likely to have wrinkles, however.
Those that spend long hours in the sun, whether because of work or a love of outdoor activities such as golf, sailing, or sun bathing, are equally susceptible to sun damage. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as "safe tanning", so sun worshippers are likely to run the risk of developing wrinkles wherever they expose their skin to the sun. Smoking can also damage the skin and lead to wrinkles.

How to Prevent Wrinkles
The best way to avoid getting wrinkles in the future is to avoid as much sun damage as possible and avoid smoking, two main causes of wrinkles. Always use a sun screen with an SPF factor of at least 15 when you are outside. It’s a good idea to use sun screen or a moisturizer with sun screen on your face everyday. Protecting your skin from the sun is the best defense against developing wrinkles as you age.
To summarize, causes of wrinkles are:

excessive suntanning and sun exposure

cigarette smoking: it's a bad habit and not only because it causes wrinkles. Each cigarette contains so many harmful substances that it's hard to imagine. It's also very hard to quit smoking but it's worth trying, you can find some books to help you quit smoking and maybe it's good to try electronic cigarettes, much better solution than normal cigarettes.

genetics - we can't do nothing about it

How to prevent wrinkles formation:

use moisturizer with sunscreen - at least SPF 15 when you are outside

use moisturizer + sunscreen on your face on daily basis

Eyes are one of the most valuable gifts of God. To enhance the beauty of this valuable gift, God makes eyelashes. Which is no doubt another very precious thing as it not only protect our eyes but also make them more beautiful and impressive.

Eyes are one of the most valuable gifts of God. As one can see and enjoy the colors and real beauty of this world through his/her eyes. Eyes are also the most prominent part of our face. No one can resist the charm and allure of long eye lashes fluttering like a butterfly with the blink of an eye! Eye lashes not only protect our eyes form dust particles, foreign objects, sun light and perspiration but also enhances the beauty and shine of eyes.

Long and healthy eye lashes can easily make your eyes stunning and glamorous. Long, shinny and healthy eyelashes are the dream of every girl. They use number of eye beauty products for this purpose. But excessive use of these beauty products can damage your eyes and eyelashes.

Here are some very simple and natural eyelashes care tips to make your eyelashes long, shinny, healthy and alluring.

Eye Lashes Care Tips:

Wash your eyes and eyelashes daily with fresh and cool water. It will rejuvenate and refresh your eye lashes and make them clear and shine.

Use castor oil for long, shinny and healthy eyelashes. Castor oil is very good for eye lashes care. Pore some castor oil in your palm and apply it on your eye lashes with your finger tip.
It can keep your eyelashes from breaking and grow new eyelashes. It is suggested to apply castor oil before going to bed.

Rub your eyelashes with olive oil, coconut oil or almond oil for hair growth and shine.

Essential Vitamins like vitamin A, B and C are very essential for eyes and eyelashes health. Take milk, butter, cod liver oil, egg yolk, green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits for healthy and impressive eyes and eye lashes.

Proper and adequate sleep is also very essential towards eyelashes care. 8-10 hours sleep is must for bright eyes.

Don’t expose your eyes to direct sunlight. Sunlight can damage your eyes and eye lashes very rapidly. Use sun glasses whenever you step out in the sun.

Don’t rub your eyes bluntly as it also damages your eye lashes and eye lashes area.

Don’t use harsh eye beauty creams or related products. Use natural or herbal eye care products as they will not only protect t your eye lashes but also make them strong and shinny.

Always remember to remove eye makeup before going to bed. Overnight make up bluntly damage our eyes, eye lashes and surrounding area.

Follow these simple eye lashes care tips for irresistibly beautiful eyes!

Mistakes you're making with your skin (that you might not know about!).

Despite our efforts to achieve glowing, flawless skin, many of us are making mistakes that stand in the way of the finest potions and lotions. Here, the 14 biggest mistakes women are making with their skin, and the fixes to set things right. Gorgeousness, here we come!
Mistake: You're not wearing sunscreen every single day
We are all sick of hearing this advice (it gets more play than Lady Gaga!), but dermatologists are probably just as tired of repeating it. This is the single biggest mistake most of us are making with our skin, and there's no need: it's an easy gaffe to fix.

The Fix: You know it already: Wear an SPF lotion or cream with broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection every single day. But why every day? While UVB rays are strong in summer, UVA rays stay the same year-round. "If you go outside to shovel shovel snow on the most overcast day of the year, you're getting the same amount of UVA as if you were on the beach during the summer," says Dr. Jeannette Graf, a Board certified, clinical and research dermatologist. Slather up, whether or not the sun's out.

Mistake: You think the SPF in your makeup is good enough.
We love a time-saving double duty product as much as the next lady, but this kind of two-fer just doesn't cut it. Why? Because dotting foundation on to even out skin tone or sweeping a powder across the t-zone simply isn't a generous enough application to offer real sun protection.

The Fix: "You really need to use an SPF cream or lotion," says Dr. Graf. In the winter, wear a moisturizer with SPF, but "during the summer you really need to bump it up and use a real sunblock that doesn't have any other ingredients but sunscreen and antioxidants," advises Dr. Graf. "You need that extra protection."

Mistake: You pick and squeeze.
We've all been there––it's just so hard not to!––but it's a habit that's not doing anything to help. "When you have a pimple under the skin, there is absolutely no way that you are going to be able to do anything about it in terms of squeezing," says Dr. Graf. "Nothing will come out and nothing good will come of it if you touch it." That is, unless you call scarring a good thing. (Nope!) Another mistake? Using a warm compress to draw out whatever is in there. That just expands the irritation even more, explains Dr. Graf.

The Fix: "If you start to feel a blind pimple under the skin, take it to the dermatologist's office for a shot." Can't make it to the doctor? Apply an ice pack, suggests Dr. Graf. The cold will help constrict the blood vessel and could help make the blemish smaller.

Mistake: You over-dry your skin.
It's the battle of the blemish, and we're all just trying to use our strongest artillery. But this plan of attack actually backfires. Over-drying the skin creates irritation and redness, and what's worse, dry skin leads to clogged pores. Keep this up, warns Dr. Graf, and "you're actually going to get more breakouts and more clogging."

The Fix: Take the path of moderation and lay off the full-on product offensive. You might need to try using your acne treatments every other evening or only a few times a week.

Mistake: You treat your entire face like it's a problem area.
It's like trying to use a chainsaw to shape your eyebrows. While you might have a few oily areas, like across your t-zone, you don't need to treat your entire face with products formulated for oily skin. When you treat combination skin like an oil slick it leads to irritation. And you know where irritation gets you––more clogging and more blemishes.

The Fix: As adolescence turns into adulthood, what was once oily skin is more often combination skin, explains Dr. Graf. Evaluate your skin type and treat it accordingly, whether you're dry, oily, or somewhere in between.

Mistake: You only protect your face from the sun.
Since we're trying to protect ourselves from the signs of aging, it makes sense that we'd focus on putting our best face forward. But as Dr. Graf warns, "one of the biggest places I see aging is on the chest." Also scary: covering up with clothing isn't much help. "A white t-shirt gives you an SPF of about 5," explains Dr. Graf.

The Fix: Any day you're going to be outside for a prolonged period of time, apply sunblock from head to toe, not just on your face and exposed arms and legs. Don't forget your ears!

Mistake: You're religious about using oil-free or non-comedogenic products.
Women with oily or blemish-prone skin have been taught that these words are the preventative gold standard for a break-out. In fact, many of us won't buy products that don't boast these terms on the bottle. But we might want to think again. "The terms non-comedogenic and oil-free are not FDA-approved terms. That's really just a selling point," explains Dr. Graf. The terms date back to the 1950s when beauty products used industrial-grade mineral oil that could break you out. "Today's mineral oil is a totally different cosmetic grade and is not going to break you out."

The Fix: If you're someone with oily skin who lives in fear of a break-out, you should use a pH-balanced foaming cleanser on your face, and you might want to add in a silicone-based powder or gel, suggests Dr. Graf. But you don't need to rely solely on products billed as oil-free or non-comedogenic. Seek out products you like, regardless of meaningless marketing terms.

Mistake: You're over-exfoliating.
Quick science lesson: Over the course of 28 days, the bottom layer of your skin––the basal layer––migrates toward the surface of your skin. When it gets there, it dies. Enzymes in the dead skin cells then cause the dead layer to fall off. That natural process is called exfoliation. Got it?

"If you see a 3-year-old child, that process is working perfectly. As we get older, that's not working as well. Why? Because the enzymes in our skin require hydration and moisture in order to be activated. When we lose that natural moisture over the years, our enzymes don't work. We have that dead skin cell layer that hangs on, and we need to remove it. That's why we use exfoliators."

But exfoliation needs to be gentle in order to be effective. "I've seen doctors on television talking about exfoliating. 'If it burns, great.' I see this, and I want to cringe."

The Fix: Steer clear of harsh scrubs and exfoliators like BuffPuffs, which can break blood vessels, and apricot scrubs, whose needle-sharp pits will break your skin and cause redness. At home, "using a peel kit or microdermabrasion kit is great. Using it every single day is not," says Dr. Graf. Any deeper exfoliation should be done in the care of a skin care professional, she says.

Mistake: You're using the right products at the wrong time.
You've got an all-star line-up of retinols, sunblock, and microdermabrasion kits in your medicine cabinet. But when you use your products is as important as what you're using. "Everybody's using the kitchen sink in the morning," complains Dr. Graf. Retinols are light-sensitive, so using them during the day isn't such a bright idea.

The Fix: "You want to use protective products in the daytime," says Dr. Graf, so slather on sunscreen twenty minutes before you leave the house. At bedtime, bring out the big guns, like exfoliators and retinols, "when your skin's natural circadian rhythms renew themselves," explains Dr. Graf.

Mistake: You use products with gold or metal in them.
It might seem super luxe to use creams flecked with gold, but you're better off keeping your money in your pocket. "They can cause contact dermatitis and there's no evidence that they do anything except drain your wallet."

The Fix: Invest your money in gold you can wear around your neck. And when you feel like splurging on a rich potion, pick something that smells divine or has a luxurious texture––but is free from any precious metals.

Mistake: You go to sleep with your makeup on.
We've all been there: You get home late and can't quite muster the energy to wash off the day or your makeup. (And waking up looking as "done" as Kim Kardashian can seem kind of screen goddessy.) "A lot of people will go to bed with makeup on. And a lot of people who don't go to bed with makeup on won't wash their face in the morning," says Dr. Graf. Both are big mistakes.

The Fix: Wash your face morning and night. But doctors sympathize with real life; they just want us to be prepared. "You go out on a Friday night and come home at 2am––it's going to happen. At the very least, have those pre-moistened makeup removers at your bedside. I'd rather you do that than not do it at all."

Mistake: You don't give your skincare products a chance.
We live in a quick fix world, so when we don't immediately see results from a new skin care regimen, we can get frustrated and give up. We then bounce from product to product, trying to find the magic potion.

The Fix: Exercise some patience. We take multivitamins, Dr Graf explains, knowing they're good for us, even when we don't see results. Sometimes you have to give your products the same measure of faith. "When you're using a skincare product, don't be so hard on the product. Understand that it's doing something for you." And that means waiting more than two days to see a difference––more like four to six weeks.

Mistake: You smoke.
If your health isn't motivation enough to quit, let vanity convince you. The toxins in cigarettes cause decreased oxygen flow to the skin, resulting in a dull complexion, explains Dr. Amy S. Pappert, assistant professor of dermatology at the UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Repeatedly contracting your muscles to inhale, or squinting to protect your eyes from smoke can deep, premature wrinkles around the mouth, frown lines, and crow's feet.

The Fix: There's no better time to quit than now. Talk to your doctor about a game plan, and comb online resources like the Mayo Clinic, the American Cancer Society, and the American Lung Association. With the right ambiance and ingredients a spa can be created in your own home.

The spa experience is a luxury not everyone can afford. Although the natural and herbal spas have proven to have a positive impact as stress relievers, the spa still remains a luxury beyond the reach of many people.

It is not difficult to create a home spa. The home spa is a great way to relax and sooth yourself. Home spas can be created in your bathroom quite easily, using various home spa recipes with ingredients from your pantry.

Herbal home spas can be created using either home spa products purchased from a store, or better yet using various herbs found in your kitchen. All you need to create a luxury home spa is:

Plush towels and bathrobe
Soothing music CD
Scented aromatherapy candles
Soothing and stimulating essential oils
Some homemade skincare recipes
Facial masks using facial mask recipes.
You can create a great ambiance in your personal home spa by combining aromatherapy candles and soothing music of your own choice. It’s amazing the difference subtle lighting can create, and you won’t need any type of fancy home spa equipment either. You can create a luxury home spa simply by using products readily available in your own home. You can create your own home spa recipes for body scrubs.

Method: Combine brown sugar, crushed almonds, a little coarse salt, and your favorite liquid soap. Combine all ingredients and rub all over to slough off dead cells.

Apply a homemade facial mask as you relax in your hot tub:

Method: combine yoghurt and honey, to make a quick and easy face mask. You can add a few drops of your favorite essential oil too.

Another easy recipe using honey is:

Method: Combine ¼ cup honey, ½ cup glycerin and 2 teaspoons of your favorite liquid soap. You can store this cleanser and apply with cotton whenever needed, and wash off.

Another very important ingredient for a great home spa experience is the essential oil you choose for yourself. Essential oils come in a range of unique aromas. There is a range of soothing essential oils if you want to relax, which include, jasmine, lavender and chamomile. The other range available is for revitalizing, which includes peppermint, rosemary, and basil.

The main reason for creating a home spa is for you to relax yourself, physically and mentally after a rough day. Once you try some easy skincare recipes, or facial mask recipes yourself and create your own luxury home spa, you’ll get so hooked to the experience that you’ll want to do it every week.

Hair colour trends of 2010

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5FI_SxoHiQ/TH9s-niAMvI/AAAAAAAACwU/b-XMej-G2Kw/s320/Hair+colour+trends+of+2010.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5512244291944067826" />

The idea of looking different and stylish inspires many people, and hair colour provides one such option. 2010 hair colour trend offers richness, brightness and variety in hair colours.

So check out some of the latest trends.

We bring forward variation and tantalizing look in 2010 hair colour trends. Look for pH balanced shampoos and other haircare products.
· Your skin’s surface oil layer (the sebum) can be removed. Without this layer to keep your skin’s natural moisture from evaporating off the surface, you may develop excessively dry skin. This also lead to an increased sensitivity to other products, as the chemicals can be more readily absorbed by your unprotected skin.
· Some shampoos can actually cause dandruff by interacting with the bacteria and yeasts already on your scalp.
· If you already have dry skin, certain detergents (like sodium lauryl sulfate) can provoke an allergy-like reaction called irritant contact dermatitis where your skin becomes red and chafed.
· The fragrances in the product can cause contact urticaria, an immediate redness, itching and swelling of the skin as well as an allergic reaction.
· Certain botanicals like chamomile, lavender and rose oil as well as preservatives like Kathon CG and quaternium-15 can all cause allergic reactions in individuals with sensitive and even normal skin

So,i thought why not trying to make an all repair homemade hair mask.

hair mask:

1) 1 ripe avocado(can get in retail stores like food bazar )
2)curd

message your hair with oil and leave overnight. In the morning, mix curd and avocado in a grinder and apply after you have shampooed your hair with garnier fructis dry/damaged shampoo and conditioned with body shop honey conditioner.apply for 15 minutes, and wrap a hot towel on hair.wash off, with water.finally rinse with honey mixed with water.do this for 1 month.you'll have your lustrous hair back.

Remove unwanted hair from upper lip

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 234px; height: 180px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5FI_SxoHiQ/THuZ6RpSOyI/AAAAAAAACwM/TGsXwwKKXl8/s320/upper+lip.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5511167795465960226" />
1)Apply a paste of turmeric root on the portion where hair grows. South Indian, specially Tamil women do this so that no facial hair grows and also it improves the complexion.

2)Make a paste of turmeric and milk.Apply for 5 minutes.Rub it on areas of face with unwanted hair.

3)Mix chickpea flour or chana lentils flour in water or milk to make a thick paste. You can add a pinch of turmeric powder and a tsp of fresh cream to this paste. Apply this on your face in the direction of the hair growth. Now leave it fir 25-20 minutes or till it is fully dry. Scrub it off when dry in the opposite direction of hair growth. This will give you little sense of irritation but when you scrub this paste your fine hair will also come off. This remedy when followed on regular basis or daily then will help to reduce the hair growth significantly on your cheeks and chin.

4)Make a paste using sugar, lemon and water. apply this paste on the face in the direction of hair growth. Leave it for 10-15 minutes and rinse it off with cold water.

5)Blend 1½ tsp of corn flour and 1 tsp of sugar in a whole egg to make a thick and sticky paste. Apply this paste on your face in the direction of hair growth. When this dries peel it off in opposite direction. Other method of hair removal like threading is also effective to remove unwanted facial hair. Threading also when done on regular basis will decrease the growth of hair on cheeks and chin.

6)Blend the egg white with sugar and corn flour. Blend it well until it becomes a sticky paste. Apply the mixture to your face. When it dries up gently slowly peel it off. Repeat this 3-4 times a week. You will notice a difference in your facial hair as it will reduce time by time.

7)Get a little pan or even a small pot, place on cooker on simmer gas. Add two teaspoons of sugar wait for 20 seconds to get heated. Then add one table spoon of fresh lemon juice, stir slowly with a spoon for one minute until you get a sticky liquid paste. Once you have let it cool down then apply on your unwanted hair, once applied use a piece of clean cloth (cotton, polyester) and place it on the pasted hair. Once placed give it a few rubs up and down with your hand. Then pull the cloth from bottom to top fast as possible and see the surprise yourself. This is best for all types of your unwanted hair. Can be used on face, body, arms and legs.

Effective tips for glowing skin in 7 days

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 272px; height: 314px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5FI_SxoHiQ/S9_4sb6AQVI/AAAAAAAACsw/4y0vhIrRIms/s400/homepage_woman_eyes_closed.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5467361914940047698" />
We are going to post effective tips for glowing skin in 7 days while keeping affordability in mind. Use a white pencil underneath the nail tip.

How To Prevent Yellowing In The First Place
If you wear polish on your nails much of the time, to prevent the color from staining the top layers of the nail, be sure to use a good base coat first -- underneath the colored polish.

BONUS: With a nail base, the color will be longer-lasting and more resistant to chipping!

Buy Some Great Nail Whitening Products and try

Lipstick Tips

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 250px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5FI_SxoHiQ/S6c7TnI5fpI/AAAAAAAACr4/1qHtQB74I8A/s320/lead-free-lipstick2-lg.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5451391082065133202" />
Effective Lipstick Tips you will Love

Want to explore some great lipstick tips? Chances are you enjoy wearing it but hate for it to fade or to get onto glasses when you drink. Learning how to effectively apply it is going to give you a look that blends in nicely and that lasts all day. Once you learn some great tips you will be on your way to updating your lipstick look.

You will get more definition with your lips if you use a liner pencil before you apply the lipstick. Your liner should be a shade or two darker than the color of the lipstick you will apply. Want a great tip for keeping your color on your lips longer? Don’t just use the liner pencil around the edges of the lips. Apply it directly on the lips and then wait a minute before you put the lipstick on top of it.

Not everyone is a fan of using lipstick liner, and that is fine too. However, you can apply a fine line of chapstick before you apply the lipstick. It will work as offering you a foundation the same way so that the color stays on longer.

The darker your lipstick is when you apply it, the lighter the rest of your makeup should be. For example if you wear bright red lipstick then your eye makeup should be very light colors. On the flip side, if you wear a very light shade of lipstick then you should go with darker colors for your eyes.

If you haven’t tried this trick out before you should do it at home. You will really be amazed as the difference it makes. The problem with them both being light or dark is that it can cause them to be distracting with each other. You want your eyes as well as your lips to be seen as attractive.

One of the best lipstick tips has to do with your teeth. You may have noticed that some of the colors result in them looking more yellow than white. That certainly isn’t an appealing look that you want to have and it can make you self conscious. To offset this you may need to use shades that have some blue in them. You can also go with plum colors or light pinks. Experiment to see what you get when you try different colors so that you can evaluate how your teeth will look before you buy them.

Quality lipstick can be expensive so make sure you get every bit of it that you can for your money. When you have tubes that are very low, consider taking what you can out with a Q-tip. Mix those colors together by melting them at a low heat and then pouring them back into your empty lipstick containers. Place them in the refrigerator so that they will get hard. You can create some lovely colors this way and not have to replace tubes of lipstick as often.

It can be really fun to experiment with a variety of different lipstick colors. You may find that you have several shades of it at home – but all of red or pink. Go to the department store with a friend and spend some time with the samples they have on display. These all cause pollution in the process of manufacturing and have been indicated as harmful to humans in high quantities. Further, unlike food products, manufactures of highly commercialized lipstick brands don’t have to list ingredients because they are protected by a law regarding trade secrets. For example, the term “fragrance” tells you nothing about actual ingredients.

Essentially, the only things needed to make lipstick are coloring, wax and oil.

Starting with wax, natural lipstick is made of plant wax (such as candellila) or beeswax. The wax gives it a shape or stiffness. Next is oil - used in natural forms like sunflower or jojoba. This makes it spreadable. Colors are derived from pigments of naturally colored substances like beets, flowers, vegetables, herbs and spices, or minerals. Although it may sound odd, color may also be derived from crushed beetles.

If a lipstick is not safe to eat, it is not natural and therefore may harm you, and/or harm the environment.

The benefits of natural lipstick in addition to being environmentally friendly, are the absence of harmful ingredients that can dry or chap your lips. Some commercial ingredients are thought to cause health problems, including cancer. One of the top commercial brands had over 30 ingredients, as listed by the Federal Drug Administration, with names you would only know if you were an advanced chemist. Some of the listed ingredients obtained from the FDA were: ammonia, acetate, and ethanolamine - which may be used in dry cleaning solvent. Conversely, substances in natural lipstick, such as shea butter, castor oil, and vitamin e, help to soften, condition and preserve the skin on your lips, as well as adding plumpness, for that sexy pout, and the wet look which is currently popular.

One intriguing natural lip product is called lip ink. It is a package of 3 products. First you apply a substance that buffs your lips, called “off”, then the ink, and finally the moisture coat. It is reported to stay on all day, and the “off” is also used to remove it. This unique lip makeup comes in many colors.

Considering that you eat about four pounds of lipstick in a lifetime if used regularly, it would seem logical to use only natural brands. Why would you want to eat lead, plastic, and ammonia? Sunflower oil, beets and vitamin E sound much more palatable and healthful!

Natural lip glosses and colors range in price from about $8 to $40, which is quite pricy but considering the alternative, it seems well worth it.

Some other ingredients that may be harmful and should not be in any lipstick that calls itself natural are:

Palm oil, which is known to destroy rainforests in the process of growing and harvesting of the palm oil

BHA, which is banned in the EU because of its carcinogenic properties that can cause health problems in some individuals or in high amounts

Parabens, which have been found in, breast tumors.

10 Tips About Perfume and Fragrances

Here are 10 tips for the fragrance lover, to make sure you can make the most out of your perfume.

1. It gives your face a healthy, rosy blush. Every one benefits by the use of a little Blusher.

Blushing with Blushers

Blusher is best applied with a high lighter or Blusher brush. Using the Blusher brush enables you to effectively colour your cheek ones. Begin with circular motions and then sweep across the cheek bone and blend towards the hair line.

If you are using a powder Blusher, shake off excess and then apply using light strokes. When you have finished, the barest hint is enough. If the biusher is too bright due to oversight, you can tone it by ‘dusting a little translucent powder and brushing off the excess.

Use a very light hand, while applying a cream blusher, other wise, there will be creases and lines.

Blusher (cream or powder) must be applied only after powdering your face.

Blusher must blend right out to your temples and not beyond that.

Use a round, stubby brush for applying blush.

A wedge can be used to take off excess blusher off your cheeks.

If the blusher has been perfectly applied, you will not notice where it begins or ends.

Cleansing and exfoliation for Radiant Skin

Pollution makes dust clogs pores on the face which increase bacterial growth and lead to acne or spots. Chemicals in the air also affect the natural oils in your skin. When skin exposed, it becomes dull and lifeless.

Clean your face regularly with a soap free mild cleanser. Women with oily skin should apply a mask to absorb excessive oil, tighten pores and remove impurities. Another important step is exfoliation, which gives radiant, healthy and smooth skin.

Oily skin has difficulty exfoliating or sloughing off the dead skin cells, due to the sticky nature of oil. When the skin type is dry, dead skin accumulates quickly creating a dull appearance to the skin. In addition to, inhibiting effective natural skin exfoliation and needed moisture absorption.

Homemade for exfoliation
Raw eggs are wonderful for face masks. Simply beat two eggs, a little water, and some honey into a bowl. Rub it onto your face and let it dry for fifteen minutes. After it dries, wash it off well. Be sure to keep it away from your eyes and mouth. This is a great way to lightly exfoliate your skin as well.

Homemade for Cleansing
Plain yogurt is a cleanser that moisturizes as well. You can add a little honey to the mixture and apply it onto your face. Avoid your eyes. Leave it on your face for about ten minutes and then wash off with water. You will get the silky skin.

Homemade mask
Take 1 tablespoon oatmeal with 1 egg yolk and milk. Mix oatmeal with enough milk to make a paste. Beat the egg yolk and blend it with the oatmeal paste. Leave it on the skin for fifteen minutes. Rinse off with warm water. The egg yolk softens the skin and oatmeal helps to cleanse and nourish the skin.
For dry skin, you may add a teaspoon of honey.
For greasy skin, a teaspoon of lemon juice.

Homemade moisture
Take 2 teaspoons of milk and 2 tablespoons of honey. Mix both ingredients until form a paste. Apply it to face and neck, leave on for 15-20 minutes. After dry, wash with lukewarm water.

How to make Face Mask

How to make a face mask?

Face masks have been part of beauty regimen of women since times immemorial. But some forms of dandruff can cause sever itching and any damage caused by the nails to the scalp can cause further bacterial infection and can cause more serious problems.

Hair massages are very effective in this regard but as hair is very delicate, they should be handled gently and massaged gently and the finger tips should be moved in small circulatory movements so as to move the skin of the scalp. Light massages often dislodge the dandruff flakes and a light massage with hot oil proves to be more effective in this regard. Pure coconut oil or olive oil can be heated and applied gently on the scalp at night and kept applied on the hair for overnight. Next morning, juice of 1 lemon should be applied an hour before shampooing.

Treatment with herbs has proved to be very effective as they help in stimulating the hair growth. There are a number of herbs that have appropriate medical properties that can curb and control the infection. These herbs are mild in nature and they do not damage the delicate tresses.

Henna also helps controlling dandruff. It promotes hair growth and conditions the hair making them soft and shiny. It also helps in restoring the health of the hair. It is a natural product but care should be taken while choosing the quality of henna. Specially prepared henna powder mixed with other ingredients, is very effective in controlling dandruff and improving the hair texture.

One should also keep in mind the hygiene as it closely related to both health and beauty. Towels, combs, hair and pillow cases should be kept absolutely clean as there are chances of re-infection. Whenever you wash your hair, soak your brushes and combs in a mug containing hot water containing some antiseptic lotion. After shampooing, rinse your hair with an herbal hair rinse or some medicated rinse which are actually anti dandruff lotions containing the extracts of mint, amla etc.

Dandruff also causes many skin problems like pimples, acne or rash. Spots and pimples are often seen on the forehead and cheeks of the people who are quite prone to dandruff and this may led to acne spreading on the face, back, upper arms and on the chest wherever the skin comes in contact with the hair.

Dandruff Treatment

There is no cure for skin disorders that lead to dandruff, so it often recurs. But mild cases often improve with careful shampooing using professional salon anti-dandruff products. The FDA has approved five ingredients for these specially prepared shampoos: salicylic acid, coal-tar, pyrithione zinc, selenium sulfide, and sulfur. You may need to try several shampoos before finding the one that works best for you. Massaging the scalp vigorously as you shampoo helps loosen flakes so they can be rinsed away. Thorough rinsing is essential, since shampoo residue encourages more flaking. For best results, shampoo daily, leaving the lather on for a few minutes before rinsing. When the condition clears up, keep it in check by shampooing with medicated shampoo as needed to control the problem. If your dandruff doesn't clear up with over-the-counter shampoos, you should see a dermatologist, especially when dandruff is severe or areas other than the scalp are involved. Your dermatologist may recommend one of the following treatments: A stronger coal-tar or salicylic acid lotion to loosen thick scaling so that shampoos may work more effectively. These are usually applied and left on overnight under a shower cap. An anti-fungal shampoo containing ketoconazole, such as Nizoral, if an overabundance of yeast seems to be the root of the problem. Steroid creams applied to the affected areas to suppress flaking. Stronger coal-tar shampoo or other treatment if psoriasis of the scalp is the underlying problem.
