In the middle of the Pacific, there is garbage dumb the size of Texas!

I head about this last year in Newsweek, but the story didn’t really sink into my mind. You have your moments of receptiveness.
Sometimes a charismatic person in front of you, can be of help to clear the path. Sometimes it just comes.

I didn’t really think too much about it until now. I don’t know why, but the story of the Great Pacific Plastic Patch suddenly popped into my head again today.
I remembered pictures of dead fish and albatrosses with their bellies cut open, just to expose metal, plastic, batteries and all sorts of crap.  Chris Jordan took the pictures of the birds.

What struck me as so incredibly sad about this – apart from us idiost polluting the sea, that we can probably never restore – is that these animals are left to rot on the ground or in the sea, while the objects inside them ‘live’ forever. I imagine that a big part of man’s creations are not going down with us at the end. They will stay. To memory our proud tribe of fools we leave behind condoms and toys from Kinder Eggs.

If you wanna be a true immortal and be remembered: Don’t apply for American Idol – get the globe clean instead. Begin by joining the cause and think beyond plastic.

Is it a concept?
Or is it me, who thinks it’s nonesense
To discuss what sex is?

I know this is a touchy subject, but I had to do this.

I respect all religious people. There I said it.
But the guys who conducts the business from the church pedestals are often making a fool of themselves.

The Catholic Church has really made a mess of itself the past weeks.
Not only did the Archbishop Don Jose Cardoso Sobrinho of Recife excommunicate a doctor who performed an abortion on a 9 year old girl from Brazil, who was pregnant with twins after being raped by her stepfather.

The Pope also went to Cameroon and spoke against the use of condoms.

Come on!

What is this church doing? Why does it deliberately advocate against helping the suffering? Yes, we DO want to end the terror of AIDS in the world. Africa is the place to start. Why not help the masses to avoid it by slipping a piece of rubber over their Johnsons?

And what is this thing with putting God’s laws over the physical and mental health of and innocent girl, who has been the victim of horrific crimes?  Where in God’s name is the point in that? I get so ANGRY! … and I lie sleepless beacuse of this idiotic and cruel behaviour of  a very powerful organization.

So many people in the world listen carefully to these men of righteousness.  Their power is terrifying.

Especially when stupidity is flowing from their mouths.

Someone suggested that I put up some sort of archive page, to create an overview of the many songs.

I found out it’s quite difficult to do this in a meaningful way. No matter what,  it seems to be impossible. I guess it’s one of the big challenges publishing in a blog format.  How to  keep the old posts from being burried in the swamp of old material.

Today it’s all about Rush Limbaugh. The infamous and influential republican radio host from Missouri.
Credits go to Alex, for suggesting the topic last week.

Limbaugh is amongst other things famous for making fun of Michael J. Fox who has Parkinson’s Disease and his somewhat dumb remarks on things like feminism: “Feminism was established so as to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream of society.”

The Rush Limbaugh Show is where he on the weekdays expresses his conservative values on the air and serves as a commentator of political events.  It’s actually quite entertaining and sometimes controversial. Especially when he recently said, that he wish President Obama will fail. Although he really was saying that he hopes Obamas politics will fail and not the man himself (he stressed this by pointing out that Obama is a human being), the qoute speaks for itself.

Bill Maher commented: ‘I don’t hold it against Rush, people say all kinds of crazy shit, when they’re high.’

Rush Limbaugh was in 2003 investigated illegally obtaining  prescription drugs. He had admitted his addiction to drugs – a topic he has ranted about often on his show. Needles to say, he has stated that he is against drug abuse and believes in duggers should go to jail.

Since then several episodes in the saga of Limbaughs drug abuse has been aired.
I guess Maher’s right. Just ignore the guy.

But keep him out the office, will ya?

The song is unusual, in that musical mastermind Erik Nørgaard participates on all sorts of weird instruments. Trumpet, trombone, accordion and a very special one in the beginning of the second verse.

One Weekly Gun is proud to be a part of the ongoing project Twestival!

I created a Twitter account for One Weekly Gun a little while ago. It’s great fun!

Anyway, on Thursday the 12th of February 2009 a worldwide charity event called Twestival is happening, and me and a bunch of other artists including Imogen Heap and Bloc Party donated songs for it!
I donated an original song written especially for the Twestival. You can find all the songs at the Twestival.fm website.

All money collected from the project goes directly to the organization Charity: Water. They work on projects bringing clean drinking water to everyone. Right now more than 1 billion people lack access to clean and sufficient water. For 20$ you can give clean water to one person for 20 years! Go ahead and donate if you want – I think you should.

This morning I read a fantastic article in my local newspaper.

It was a portrait of the chinese blogger Zuola – or Zola as he sometimes prefers to call himself.
Real life name Zhou Shuguang (周曙光).

There’s an introducion at Wiki about him.

Zhou is considered to be a local voice of growing importance. Famous in China and internationally for travelling around the country, documenting and presenting cases of injustice. In China it’s not every day, a 28 year-old systematically speaks his mind about touchy political and social problems on the internet. Although the blogosphere in China is growing rapidly, it’s not an easy and comfortable job. Zola has been harassed by the authorities several times. During the olympics he was withheld in his province, so he wouldn’t cause any trouble.

Zola blogs from his ‘office’ in an old factory, which he equipped with grafitti and a pool table. Several times he has announced, that he will quit blogging, but he’s still continuing. I guess he is encouraged by the growing number of media, reporting of this young hero.

I deeply admire Zola for his courage and his ability to reach out over the borders of his in many ways closed country.
He tries to make money from the blog for his activities. I’m going for the Zuola T-shirt.

This song is dedicated to and about Zola. In China the secret service has people hired to search the blogs for ‘dangerous’ material, and subsequently commenting the posts in a more party friendly direction. The song is from this point of view.

I visited Gaza once. It must have been in 1999.

I travelled around the Israel and the Palestinian territories. Back then it was quite peaceful.
I was only there for a day, but I got a good impression of the city centre, where I spend the afternoon. I ran into a guy on the street, who suddenly started talking to me. I guess I was the only westener around.  He was engaged in the work for human rights, and really wanted to practise his english.

We talked for hours and drank tea together. He showed me around Gaza. It was in august, and the heat was killing me. So we went to the cool shade of a laundry shop, that belonged to a cousin of my host. We drank a cool coke and ate something. I can’t remember what it was.

At that time, the city was quite beautiful with green parks in the centre. Now it’s a sad mess.

I have made a lot of friends all over the world, where I have travelled. I guess it’s easy to get in contact with others, when you are all alone. You need the social dimension in your life. You don’t need war.

I think of my wonderful day in Gaza everytime I see the pictures from the conflict these days. And sometimes I feel sick and just want to go to bed. I wrote this song lying down.

Good day World!

One Weekly Gun has returned to the laptop and begun the work for what seems to be a year of news hopefully as exciting as 2008. All kinds of events and stories will be covered here at oneweeklygun.com throughout the year. Both stories of success and tales of tragedy can be found here in the future. I can guarantee that.

So what should I write about in the first post? Will it be the news about Oprah Winfreys use of cocaine? The Obama whistle stop train, that travels to Washington DC and celebrating the 45th birthday of Michelle Obama along the way? The anarchist graffiti on Washington State Capitol? Or perhaps something that does NOT take place in th US?

Time will tell. One Weekly Gun will be back shortly… stay tuned.

Yes, this is the great and exciting One Weekly Gun Christmas and New Year Special 2008.

We have come a long way this year. A lot has happened.
For my part 2008 has been crammed with stuff to do – my wedding, travels, a new job etc.
And in between I have tried to cover the some of the important events in the world in song, as I see them.

One Weekly Gun has taken off. This is the 39th and final song of 2008.

To celebrate 2008 I here present a very special episode. The very first song of OWG has been transformed from a lo-fi/first-take piece to a complete outta this world treat for all of you. It’s been recorded by the Danish National Chamber Orchestra in a FANTASTIC arrangement by my friend Jakob Faurholt and mixed by two other magnificent guys: Frederik Thaae and Kristian Thomsen.

Afterwards we added a beautiful X-mas choir and my pathetic voice. The result is of course stunning and absurd in the same time.

‘But this must have taken may more time than three hours?’ you might ask.

The answer is yes. But I thought it would be fun to step out of the OWG procedure for this one time. I guess this episode took the same amout of time to do, as all the 38 other episodes accumulated.

Why? Because anything is possible. One Weekly Gun is about just that. In our time the world is FLOODED with talent. Way too much for anyone to comprehend in a lifetime. Much of it never gets an audience. Now, I don’t consider myself a big talent, but I treasure my abilities enough to show them to the world. The world belongs to you and me, and you should not hesitate to get out there and do what you have to do.

But apparently orthodox jews are still demanding, that bus companies introduce kosher buslines, where men and women are segregated. In lack of understanding, orthodox communities are now on the mission to finance the bus lines themselves.

Instead of jumping up and down on the obvious point here, I will instead digress to a more abtract level of this discussion. I see these everyday moments of annoyance as symbols of a much more terrifying reality.

Some of us are brought up in hatred and learn to hate and fight equal rights from childhood. If you’re told one thing your whole life, you belive it. I not talking about orthodox jews here, but all who are part of an isolated and somewhat extreme community. If no interaction with other beliefs are happening, some of us are stuck in middel age reality.

“What?” – you might ask. And with every right. You’re probably used to the lo-fi sounds of OWG by now. You know when you only have three hours to do everything from getting the idea, to publishing the song, sometimes it affects the ‘quality’ of the sounds. I try hard to cope with these challenges – If I can’t get an instrument to sound right, it’s better to lose it. The three hour limit often get’s it’s significant saying on the sound of the song.

But this time it’s different. We are recording a brilliant episode for new year for yo

u guys! More than 50 musicians will be participating! It’s a mastodont musical frame around my little voice. The production is handled by A Kid Hereafter and my friend Jakob Faurholt.

The song we are recording is a rendition of the very first song here at One Weekly Gun. It’s called ‘One Song Every Week’ and can be heard here.

Much has changed since then. When I recorded the first song, I only had the idea of weekly songs for like 5 minutes. It all went very fast. My wife came home, and I was all excited. “Guess what! I’m gonna do weekly songs now!!!”.

“…ok!?!…”

I didn’t know how far this would take me.

Right now I’m still feeling like, I’m giving birth to the concept. Every day new thoughts and ideas about the future of the blog is created in my brain. I’m getting a lot of mail feedback from all you guys out there. I really appreciate it. Both when you tell me you love OWG and when you tell me you don’t.

This week saw the solving of one of the great mysteries of historic astronomy, as the remains of the Polish scientist Nicolaus Copernicus has been confirmed. Parts of him was actually found three years ago, but until now it has only been a qualified guess, that it was Copernicus. DNA-tests solved the mystery.

Copernicus – or Kopernikus, as he is known in German writings – is the father of our astnomic perception today. Most notably he discovered, that the earth circles around the sun, as opposed to what was believed in his day. Back then the common perception was, that the earth is the center of all things – including the universe.

This week’s song is a delayed obituary and is dedicated to Copernicus and his legacy.

What is ‘drugs’?

Would you go to Amsterdam, if you couldn’t get Magic Mushrooms?

They’re closing down the big business of Magic Mushrooms in Holland. Apparently tourists are not eqipped to control themselves once they get on the trip. They jump from balconies and drives cars through camping lots. Therefore the government intend to shut all sales of Magic Mushrooms down in the near future.

Protesters say, that incidents involving Dutch are close to zero. It’s only the foreigners who can’t behave, while they’re eating mushrooms.

This song is about drugs. Some people like hem, and some don’t. This friday night, a huge drug fueled (Dutch produced) event called Sensation went off in the national Danish stadium in Copenhagen. 27000 people danced the night away wearing only white clothes with cleverly hidden pockets for all their shit.

So I guess you all just went crazy along with everybody else this tuesday? Huh?
Did you watch the news when Barack Obama got closer and closer to the seat? Over here we didn’t. We sleep at that time – or at least we used to. This election wrote TV history. Everybody I met the next day was red eyed and/or hung-over from the party. I really felt miserable AND boring. But I did get up at 5 in time to watch both candidates speak. I was woken up by my wife saying something like: ‘Get up dear, the winner is about to speak in a moment.’ After Obama, McCain got a re-run.

And thursday everything went back to normal.

Friday my wife got back in the picture. Why not just re-arrange the Mitt Romney song from Week 6 for an Obama special? I must admit I liked the idea. First of all because I think the Mitt Romney song was a true moment of brilliance from yours truly. Modesty? WHAT? Second because the melody has some positive qualities that suits a winner as well as a looser. And third, because the Mitt Romeny song suggests Barack Obama would be the winner. And I wrote that in February! How about that? CNN, when are you gonna call?

Tuesday is the day!

Everybody’s talking about the so-called ‘Bradley-effect’.
In 1982 the afro-american Tom Bradley lost the election for governor of California despite being way ahead in the polls. The reason being that many decided to vote against him for racial issues once they stood in the booth. Right now the question – a bit constructed if you ask me – is whether or not someting like this could happen to our Messiah Barack Obama?

This song is about this question and in a broader sense the doubt within the american people. Could the nasty factor lead to a surprise? I doubt it, but I admit, that often in a time of decision many stupid thoughts go through my head. Most of the time they do not have an impact, but who could know.

Obama said he’s not gonna be the perfect president. That’s fine, but we can’t afford to many imperfect voters. Screw the outcome, just don’t let race decide.

Hi People of the internet.

Once again the gun shoots.
This time in a more non-bulletin’ish way than normally.

I went to the Leonard Cohen show on friday in Copenhagen.
Coehn is one of my all time favourites. I have listened to these songs since the album ‘The Future’ came out. I remember my mother and her sister gave each other the record for christmas – accidentally.

Anyway, it was a fantastic concert. Now there are some serious lyrics for ya. Go home Gun.

In the row in from of me sat a man with his two children. I guess the boy and girl must have been about 20. The father was insanely drunk. I mean REALLY embarrasing. Not like a teenager at a punk show who’s having a good time. This was something else. The kids were obviuosly used to this. They ignored him for most of the time. But you could see it hurt them.

He was constantly talking and making stupid noises. And he kinda groped his daughter also. Really nasty.

What touched me so much about this was his childrens reaction. I mean, they tried not to think too much about it, but it was clear that they didn’t exacly enjoy it. I can’t believe you would wanna hurt your family this way. There is help to get for these problems. Do not alienate your family this way. He asked them if they wanted to come home with him. They refused.

The song is about this evening. Not very specific, but you can pretend it makes sense.

Anyway, the blog will soon be moving to new surroundings. Keep an eye out. And don’t dispair it your rss-reader is empty. I will tell you what to do.

A very exciting thing is happening friday and saturday.

The song ‘The Last Spark’ will be performed live at A Kid Hereafter’s
concerts in Copenhagen and Århus, Denmark. I’m told it’s prolonged with a guitar solo among other excentric musical elements. I can’t wait to hear it – although I’m not gonna be there myself, because I’m going to the Leonard Cohen show instead. Dang! If you happen to go, please bring a video camera and record the song, will ya? Anyway it’s a fucking great band!

As McCain gets a bit more behind in the polls, his campaign gets nastier. Some suggest that he can no longer afford the positive attidude. It’s time to get real.

Palin and McCain both tried to expose, what they call the ‘real’ Obama. That is, his hidden ugly side that interacts with terrorists etc. In an attempt to change focus from today’s america to Obama’s past, they have tried to raise doubt about his person. I personally think that this plan is kinda stupid and leaves everyone with the impression of the GOP as a political party without a message.

And then, this happened. THAT ONE! Does this miniature semantic mistake from McCain in the middle of the second debate in fact show us the real McCain? One can only guess. I think not – but I know that the strategy has backfired. As many other strategies from the McCain/Palin camp.

To the nerds: YES, It’s sounds like and is inspired by a well known Beatles song!

I just came back from a quick visit to Seattle and the Bumbershoot Festival. It was really nice and what FANTASTIC people there!! I had a really good time chatting to people at the festival. Sometimes we europeans think that we are all alone – we certainly have some good pals over there! Cheers!

Well, apart from the festival and visiting historic landmarks as the house where Kurt Cobain shot himself one major thing had an impact on me. Well two actually – counting Obamas speech at the democratic convention in Denver that is. The appearance of Sarah Palin. The govenor from Alaska, and now crown princess of McCains potential chair in the oval office. WOW! What a gal! Yihaa!

And what a fantastic moron she is. She held a very special speech, when she was revealed as the vice presidential candidate. I made a song about, what it sounded like in my ears.

Well as most of you possibly noticed, last week’s song did not arrive on time.

The track was inspired by the übercool Nurse Dee, who introduced me to the verb ‘cutting’ – in the sense of someting having an edge. I promised to make the term the prime subject of the following song, and here I deliver. Having in mind the mild controversy following olympic champion Usain Bolt and his choice of NOT congratulating his fellow runners after the final in which he set his second world record at these games.

Did you watch the grand opening of the Olympic Games in Beijing a few days ago?
Wheeeeew! What a masterpiece conglomerate of fascinating culture and cheesy artwork.
And the chinese government even controlled the weather – on top of everything else in China.
- But I must admit, I love the exstremely tight coordinated events of the opening. The happenings with hundreds of people doing the same. Wow.

This week’s song is about just that. It’s about being an individual in a massive crowd. Like in China I guess.

Dearest readers of One Weekly Gun.

Yours truly have struggled himself through a wedding(my own), a vacation and my own two wedding parties for the last month! It has been an enjoyable and quite substantial mess, i should say. But who am I to complain? I’m married!

So much for pathos.

This week’s episode features the weel known and hard-to-find war criminal Radovan Karadzic. Karadzic is a Bosnian serb, shrink and poet/author. He’s mostly known for having given the order for the systematic genocide of Bosnian muslims and Croats during the 90′s. For the last 13 years he has kept a very low profile, living i Belgrade under a new (stolen) identity.

This song is about Radovan, and portrays him as a crooked untouchable coward in his hiding place. When he doesn’t need other people he kills them – when he needs their identity, he just takes it.

As time is passing, OWG is feeling larger than life out here on his own private paradise island. Vacation is much needed after 23 episodes non stop.

While you and I myself are waiting for OWG to get back from his much needed and long-feeling vacation, here’s a convenient interlude. A remix of the song 12 Million from episode 13 .

The artist behind is DJ Vonbas – bassplayer in the Danish phenomenon Marie Key Band. Real name: Søsser.
This fantastic person made an even more fantastic rendition of the song. And much needed. I felt that 12 Million was one of my favourites, but it suffered severely from lack of production time. Therefore it only had guitar and vocals.

Weeks later it’s in top three of most visited songs on OWG which should earn it a little more attention from the busy songwriter. Luckily Vonbas went ahead and created this neat little gem from it.

This is one weekly gun.
As you know I’m on vacation in Asia right now, and therefore unable to write, produce and publish a new song in under three hours this week.

Until now it’s been a very joyful experience to create this mad momentum driven soundscape. Most of all it’s fantastic to receive your reactions, thoughts and feedback. It keeps me going when the going gets tough. And it does sometimes.

So your participation makes me fitter, happier and more productive.

What would I have written about this week? Your guess is as good as mine. I can only hope it would have been something clever – and joyful to sing along to. In life that’s all we can hope for most of the time. Sometimes we create our own momentum. Sometimes we drift along with the consequences of recent and past situations. It’s a mess sometimes – or combination some would say . The thing is, that you by creating your own momentum on top of the ones that seem to control your life, you kind of feel that you participate. That’s what I feel anyway. And sometimes people tell me, that what I do made them feel something about things that they had never felt something about before. That makes me very happy. Because in that way, I AM participating.

You should also participate. Go write a song and publish it yourself. Or send it to me, at I will publish it right here. In this way I create the momentum for your momentum – which again is based on a different one. Can anything be more meta momentum like? I don’t think so.

I chose this week’s subject from a requst. I wrote about everyone else in the american primaries (except Huckabee) and until now McCain has only been mentioned in the song about Mitt Romney.

Some days ago McCaine released his medical journals so that eeryone would have PROOF that this man is OK! He is not suffering from something old people suffer from. He is almost 72 but he is NOT old! These pages prove that he is not old at all. I guess…

This is a very weird discussion. No matter how you look at it, he is 71 – which is kinda old in a lot of other businesses. It’s past retirement age none the less.

Who cares about his age as long as he does a good job. But did he get weird after spending some nights at the Hanoi Hilton? Is he in fact OK?

Hey All

The blog has had a fantastic visit boom! The number of visitors quadrubled in the last couple of weeks.
I started to recieve quite a few mails about One Weekly Gun. Do not be afraid to write or comment here on the page. It’s really nice to have someone listening out there.

Some of the questions I get are regarding the weekly day of release. Well, to tell you the truth, there is no specific day, the song should come out. It just depends on the mood I’m in and more importaintly what’s going on in the world right now. But the again most of the songs come during the weekend.

This week has been packed with news about the surivors of the cyclone in Burma and the earthquake in China. The horrors of the Burmese people trapped in the delta among dead bodies doesn’t fail to make a lasting impression on us. And though I feel that this topic should be covered here, I could not find out how to do it. What could this blog possibly do, that could affect this situation? …nothing I guess. And how would I be able to write a song on a subject, where pictures has allready said all there is to say? It’s a dead end. My comments are useless here.

I therefore broke the rule, and did what was forbidden me. I wrote a song about myself.

One Weekly Gun is a vehicle for spontanious creativity. The songs come out mostly during the weekend. The song is about me, this project and the feeling of freedom in the process.
It’s called Weekend Man, and it qualifies for the weirdest song yet.

This is week 18 of One Weekly Gun

I’m beginning to get at lot of reactions from all over the world. It feel nice, that someone is actually listening to this madness.

This week Hillary Clinton lost her last chance of becoming the democratic candidate. The only problem is, she chose not to accept her loss. The song deals with her dillemma. Right now the media all over the wold begs her to step out of the race and leave the scene for Obama. I tend to agree. Please, Mrs. Clinton.

Of course there could be only one headline for last week’s song. The sick and gruesome events that has occured in the cellar of Joseph Fritzl for the last 24 years.

It left me speechless and unable to finish this song until now. That’s the reason for last week’s delay.

These last few weeks there has been a lot of discussion about China and the Olympics 2008. Therefore I thought it was time to cover the mess in music. Also check out the song about Dalai Lama a few weeks back.

It became a very angry and hostile song – towards China. It’s important for me to say, that I haven’t got anything against the chinese people og culture. Only the governments bizzarre and childish behaviour.

The song deals also with the apathic and cooperative nature of the western region.

For the first time – I was delayed.
2 days.
But I have a good reason.
I got married saturday, so I had things to do.

This weekend has been all about love, which also affected the weekly musical outcome.
Obama and Clinton are meeting tonight – in battle. Probably the last big debate between the two. Next week, much will be clearer. The campaigns have been increasingly childish and harsh these last couple of weeks. And I began wondering about their private relationship – the correspondances, that doesn’t reach the media.

Once again OWG takes on a deceased Hollywood actor. This time the song is an obituary for the late Charlton Heston. The star of films like ‘Planet of the Apes’, ‘The Ten Commandments’ and ’55 Days at Peking’.

Also a notorious supporter of the right to own a gun.

Heston had severe Alzheimer, and died at the age of 84.

This week the song was delayed. I’m terribly sick.
But I managed to record this little song about plastic surgery in the US.

Last year the number of operations performed rose to 12 million.
Most of them are white women.

I think it’s sad that so many people feel they should change their looks. And I’m convinced, that most of them have problems they could solve with therapy or other treatments. Get the trauma out before you get the chemicals in.

This is episode 8 of One Weekly Gun.

This weeks headline is a request – and indeed the most dominating one this week.
Fidel Castro, the world’s friendliest dictator has resigned.

I guess I can’t tell anyone anything they didn’t already know about Castro. It not the biggest of tragedies, that he’s no longer the president of Cuba, but indeed it’s the end of an era.

I chose a rather manipultative angle to this week’s song. The words are Castro’s. An aged, paranoid and tired man. It deals with the usual melancholy of getting old and isolated in a cynic world. I added a little positive gesture – indicating that Castro has a great plan for mankind, and nobody listens. I guess he has, but how good it is, can be discussed. By others!

This is One Weekly Gun – part 7.

Quite a lot of interesting things happened this week, and the choice has been difficult.
The forthcoming independence of the Kosovo region was a tempting subject, but the strike of the Writers Guild had a more ironic edge to it. After all it’s funny to think about a whole industry fading to black, when somebody stops telling the stars, what to say.

This week I almost didn’t make it. I had prepared a hymn about Super Tuesday. A song with a verse for each candidate. I got rather academic and in the end I wrote another one right after Mitt Romney announced, that he would withdraw his candidature.

I feel sorry for every candidate that is run over in the race for power. I’m sure most of them has the best of intentions. In the case of Romney it’s quite hard to see through his motives. He changed his mind quite a few times along the way. Especially on the issue of abortion.

This song is really unfair to Romney. I apologise in advance. It’s Romney in his home with his mother after his announcement.

This week is about the inevitable Middel East. Israel decided to shut down electricity in Gaza and last week it culminated in people crossing the border to Egypt to buy fuel, food and necessities.

Several egyptian shops have made a small fortune from the border breach.

The song is mostly an expression of the dispair in the heads of people in Gaza. I travelled there once. Made some friends and had a terrific time.

Now it’s a hole in the ground.

I really had no choice this week. The one big headline is the death of actor Heath Ledger and all the questions surrounding the incident. I often wonder about the mechanisms that make us all feel bad when a known figure passes away. It’s strange bonding with people, you haven’t even met. And I must admit, I only saw Ledger in ‘Monster’s Ball’.

I just learned his name this week.

This weeks episode features the problems of garbage removal in Naples, Italy. Apparently the local gangs are controlling and prolonging the conflict for financial reasons. Who would have thought, that garbage can turn to gold?

Another EXCITING week went by.
One story seemed to domintate the headlines.: The unexpected victory of Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire. We all thought Obama would prevail, but at the last minute Clinton played the winning card: Tears.

Maybe the effect wasn’t caused by a candidate showing emotions. Maybe it was because she gave the world, what the world expected: That she’s a woman, and therefore should show her feelings all the time. There’s no room for an Iron Lady.
