June Prayer Meeting

The June meeting will be at 7:30 p.m. on June 20th at Faith Christian Center in Silsbee. They are located on Roosevelt Drive. Pastor Chris Kirkendall.

Community Baby Shower

On June 11 at 5:00 pm, New Covenant Assembly of God will host a community baby shower for approximately 25 young women who attend SISD. They need gently used and new items or financial contributions for the purchase of baby items.

Still Praying and Believing

Looks More Like Heaven

Last night, the attendance at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Silsbee illustrated the diversity of believers in heaven. Although we are different, we are one in Christ. Special thanks to Rev. Proctor for hosting this meeting. The spirit of prayer was strong. (3/2/10)

At the prayer meeting at St. John's Episcopal Church in Silsbee on 2/15, we prayed for all the pastors and church leaders who attended. We know that God is hearing and answering. Thanks to Fr. John Bedingfield for hosting.

Rain Can't Stop the Praying

Those who arrived early for the third prayer meeting escaped the rain. If you waited until 7:30, you got wet. Maybe soaked. Still, those who attended were blessed with the worship songs led by the praise band at New Covenant Assembly in Silsbee last night. Thanks to Pastor Jon Watson for hosting it. We believe that God is going to bring His deliverance to our land. (2/9/10)

Second Meeting Had New Faces

The prayer meeting hosted by Pastor Daryl Gilbert with Simon's Memorial Church of God in Christ brought new faces to the gathering. It was a blessing to pray together and to know that word is spreading about our desire to see unity within the Body of Christ. We believe that God is answering our prayers for revival. It truly will take a move of the Spirit to dissolve the barriers that have caused us to diminish our love for one another. He will do it. May God receive all the honor and glory.

First Prayer Meeting Was a Blessing

Thanks to Pastor Mark Wilding and SouthPoint Church for hosting the first prayer session last night (Monday 1/25/10). God blessed the time together. Many brothers and sisters from different congregations attended. We believe that this was a good start to a process of obeying the Father and loving one another. May all we do be for the glory of God.

Forty Weeks of Prayer and Fasting

Beginning on January 25, 2010 through October 25, 2010, One in Mercy will be calling for 40 weeks of prayer and fasting. The meetings will be every Monday evening at 7:30. The format will begin with approximately ten minutes of introductory remarks or reading of scripture. The rest of the time will be spent in prayer for the Lord to send laborers into His harvest, to renew our passion for the lost, and to repent of the sins in our county.

We know that God will honor a season of humility and prayer. We will rotate the location among congregations in Hardin County and surrounding communities. Please let me know if you are willing to have one of the prayer meetings at the facility with which God has entrusted to you. The locations will be posted on the website on the Prayer Meeting page.

Example of Christian Unity

I was blessed to attend a "Family & Friends Day" service hosted by Simon's Memorial Church of God in Christ on November 1, 2009. Pastor Daryl Gilbert invited Pastor Jon Watson of New Covenant Assembly of God to speak in the combined service. He reminded us that God has placed each of us in a gap to repair the spiritual walls that protect our city. This service and the fantastic spaghetti meal was a wonderful example of unity among congregations and an effort to break down racial division within the Body of Christ. May God continue to bless these pastors and their congregations for stepping out in faith beyond the comfort zone to fulfill the prayer of Christ that we become one in Him. I pray that other pastors and congregations will boldly follow this example of unity.

Feel free to send us better information on other congregations too. Please send the site link to as many persons as you can and encourage them to sign up on the email address list. You will not receive automatic emails unless you subscribe to the list. We need your help and prayers to spread the news. Thank you.

Looking for Community Prayer Sponsors

We are pleased to start this website to edify the Body of Christ in our communities. If your congregation wants to co-host the first prayer meeting sometime in mid to late July, please let us know of your interest.

In these recent days of racial tension, the Body of Christ needs to extend hope, forgiveness and reconciliation. I pray that pastors and congregations will renew relationships and begin loving each other so that healing can begin in our area.
