Yep – a lot of “non posting” over here uh..??

As all the people of other “dead blogs” would say; “I have been toooooo busy”……

And yes; that will also be my excuse.

Meanwhile I did not want to close this one; as a lot of people are still reading it – still gathering information…!

Well; I also made a NEW PAGE for those people…. the OnMyiPad.net page;

I started a Dutch version only a couple of months ago…. and fastly it grew to a homepag/blog with hundreds of visitors a day.
And to me; that is a good reason to also start it in English…!!

So – no random announcements…. or big iPad news…. NOPE; just like OnMyComp.com => MY EXPERIENCES with the iPad…. the apps I AM USING….the accessories I BOUGHT.

Yesterday I had one of the problems which almost every person with a computer will have at least once… but probably even more than that…..

I deleted a couple of files which should not have been deleted…. Ooooh yes – I even did the “Empty Recycle Bin” also know as “permanently deleting a file”….

So – a little panic – as I really did need those files and uh… ** shame on me ** I did not have a back up….!!

But I found a big life saver; RECUVA…!!

After installing that one; I made Recuva making a scan – I used the search option and VOILA…. – it found my files !!
I was able to put them back => preferably on another harddrive – otherwise more and more of the deleted files will be kind of “corrupted”….
And yes – I also did the test with putting the files back on the same harddrive – I did another scan; and more files where not able to be recovered.

I am really happy for all the US people who are able to buy the iPad….. finally….!!

But do they also realize; we in Europe are not able to buy it yet… some countries WILL be – at the end of April….

BUT; we in Holland (and a lot of other countries) do not know a date yet…..!!

So; why didn’t we see this on the website of the Dutch Apple website today..??

In my last post I have been mentioning my love, as an iPhone owner, for music .
Another nice app you can use on your iPhone; via Cydia – so your iPhone needs to be “jailbreaked”…. => iSpringPlay.

The only, brilliant, thing it does; makes an icon for a playlist.

For example; during my workout I like to use some “upbeat songs” while biking… so I made a nice playlist with the faster songs….
But; I am not starting my workout with biking – so I like to play my “normal music” at that point.

So; with iSpringplay I made 2 icons on my springboard (the desktop of the iPhone); one with “normal music” and one with “uptempo music”.

This way; I do NOT need to go into the iPod part of my iPhone to select another playlist.
It is just there; on my springboard….!!

If you have an iPhone AND you love listening to music – this is an app you MUST HAVE!!

Moodagent; gives you the possibility to “set your mood into music”.
Once you install it; it first want to ‘profile your music collection on your iPhone”… so – you do need a good internet connection for this first action.

Moodagent has a huge database which holds A LOT of songs and a kind of mood connected to it….

So; after that you can set “your mood” and the Moodagent will generate automatically a play list of songs, from your collection, which will have “that mood”….
If you want love songs…. or sunny songs… or uptempo songs….  (Sensual, Tender, Joy, Aggressive and Tempo). You can generate it all with Moodagent or make a mixture…. for example – put the sliders of Tender and Tempo up.

This playlist will contain 25 songs AND it will keep playing after you close Moodagent.

You can also help to make this work and download the profiler software of Moodagent and help them “profile the tracks”….!!

A nice feature; if you are playing a song on your iPod – open Moodagent – and it will make a playlist of songs similar to the song you are playing.
Sliding a song to the right – will delete the song from the playlist.
Hit the logo of Moodagent on the right side of the song; you can select this song to be the profiling song.

A must have for the die-hard music lovers!

Little tip; use this one in combination with the sleep timer of your iPhone….!!

Again I found a nice new app, which I am using on my iPhone….

I even didn’t know they did exist; iPhone Web Applications…
This morning I was looking at my bookmarks and saw this link on the bottom…and right away I saw this nice little app….

First; an iPhone Web Application is NOT an app you install on your iPhone; it just runs “online”…. So – be careful – you do need internet connection !!
But; I have a cellphone plan which includes free internet – so no problem for me!

Okay – the app I found is called Color Mail;
with this program you can make colorful emails -> a colorful background – a colorful font
It also has some nice templates….

Within this program you can make your email ready AND send it….

From the website;

Create a colour styled email template and then you can use it directly in your iPhone Mail app to send a colorful email to your friends. You can change background colour, text color, fonts, and text sizes. You can also change the corner of the text body.

When styling is done, just click the “go to Mail” button to switch to the iPhone default Mail app to edit your email and send it out. If you are lazy to do all above, another simple way is available for you – using template. Just tap the template and you can edit your color email directly. No more App installation needed and you can create your colorful email in an easy way.

This is going to be a WRONG post….
Normally I am telling a little trick or solution…… but this time I am going to tell you something different…

I have been looking for a solution for the next problem;

Online Gmail is grouping all email together…. a so called “conversation email”….
You sent an email to someone – someone is replying – you reply – someone replies…
And all those email will end up in “one big email”….
Gmail is also calling it “conversation view”….

Personally I really hate this combining of emails…. and I have been searching and searching; result = we are NOT ABLE TO CHANGE THIS….
Gmail did NOT put in an option to turn this off….

BUT – there is a way to change this; we just all need to hit the correct button on the feature list of Gmail;

Underneath ORGANIZATION – “Conversation View changes”

Suggest a feature for Gmail

(and even if you really like the feature – you can still hit that button; so gmail can make it an OPTION… this way – you keep your feature, but you are giving me the chance to work without it….)

Since yesterday – a lot of people have problems with loading Cydia on their iPhone.
(People who do not know about Cydia; this is a little program to install other programs with – you can only use it on a iPhone which has a jailbreak)

Cydia is loading and then all of sudden it goes back to the springboard.

I have found a couple of solutions and they all go to “problems with the zodttd source”.
The easiest solution is – uninstall the zodttd via the Rock program. (Rock is the Cydia competitor)
Maybe you do not have Rock on your iPhone; then hopefully you still have Blackrain installed.
Open Blackrain – install Rock – and via Rock you can uninstall “zodttd source”.
After that – you will be able uninstall Rock (if you really do not want it) and you will be able to open Cydia.

An other way to make the zodttd files disappear; you need to get to the files of your iPhone.
This is something I have never done and I also didn’t do it this time = but I will give you the way to do it…
(but yeah – same as the Rock solution; all on your own risk !!)

Go to /var/lib/apt/lists/ and delete the three zodttd files.
Go to /private/etc/apt/sources.list.d and delete the zodttd list.

Personally I think that one of the disadvantages of the iPhone is; you have to figure it all out yourselve…!
Well; or find it on the internet……

One of the things which was irritating me; scrolling down in the webbrowser and then go back up to the top….
Till today; I was really scrolling all the way back up…..

Then, by accident, I discovered that the screen will go back to the top when you hit the topbar of your iPhone screen…
The one with the time and battery icon on it….!!

Just try it… till now – it does work in all the programs I use; my Email – TwitBird – browser – etc etc.
