Governor Greitens Makes Four Appointments to Boards and Commissions

Earnest Hart, Jr., of Chesterfield, was appointed to the Martin Luther King, Jr. State Celebration Commission.

Hart is a motivational speaker, martial arts champion, and physical fitness trainer. He has hosted mentoring sessions and seminars around St. Louis for organizations such as the Premier Charter School, YMCA, and Whitfield School.

Thomas Frawley, of St. Louis, was appointed to the Missouri Juvenile Justice Advisory Group.

Governor Greitens Signs SCR 49

Today, Governor Eric Greitens signed SCR 49, which moves the referendum on a Freedom to Work law from the November general election to the August primary ballot.

Governor Eric Greitens made three appointments to Boards and Commissions.

Clark Corogenes, of Kansas City, was appointed to the Missouri Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Corogenes is employed by The Whole Person as an Independent Living Advocate for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services. He holds a bachelor’s degree in ministry from MidAmerica Nazarene University and associate’s degrees from Johnson County Community College.

Governor Greitens Announces Biodiesel Funds to be Released

Thursday, Governor Eric Greitens will be speaking at the Carnahan Memorial Garden in Jefferson City to announce the release of new funds for Missouri’s Biodiesel program.

The state will be releasing the $4 million restriction on Biodiesel for Missouri Biodiesel producers and $65,000 for the Office of the Military Advocate.

“We’re proud to fight for Missouri’s often-forgotten rural communities and farmers,” said Governor Eric Greitens. “These long-promised funds will help farmers and workers in rural communities across the state.”

Governor Greitens Appoints Thomas McCarthy as Associate Circuit Court Judge for St. Louis City

Governor Eric Greitens has appointed Thomas A. McCarthy, of St. Louis, as Associate Circuit Court Judge for the 22nd Judicial Circuit, which covers the City of St. Louis. He will replace the Honorable Scott Millikan, whom Governor Greitens appointed to the circuit bench last month.

Missouri State Parks seeks to recruit and hire more veterans

Missouri State Parks has launched a new website designed especially for recruiting military veterans for positions within the state parks system. This new site is a significant step forward in a continued initiative by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to recruit and hire more veterans, starting with its Division of State Parks.

Governor Greitens Signs HB 2015

Today, Governor Eric Greitens signed HB 2015, a supplemental budget bill to ensure that the Department of Economic Development has adequate authority to award community development block grants. These grants fund public infrastructure, housing, and other economic development projects. $10,000,000 in funding was allocated in this bill.

Governor Greitens Appoints Clifford Thornburg as Chariton County Prosecutor

Governor Eric Greitens has appointed Clifford “Cliff” Thornburg, of Salisbury, as the Chariton County Prosecuting Attorney. Thornburg is the attorney for the Ninth Circuit Juvenile Office, which covers Chariton, Linn, and Sullivan Counties. Thornburg is also the principal attorney of his law office in Salisbury. Thornburg will succeed Robert W. Wheeler, who passed away last month.

Governor Greitens Reappoints Victor Callahan to State Tax Commission

Today, Governor Eric Greitens reappointed Victor Callahan, of Independence, to the State Tax Commission. Callahan served in the Missouri State Senate from 2003 to 2013. He was unanimously elected as Floor Leader to the Missouri State Senate Democrats in November 2008 and November 2010. Senator Callahan served as a member of numerous Senate committees, including Administration, Gubernatorial Appointments, and Small Business, and as chair of the Progress and Development Committee.
