Iris pallida variegata

One of the more under rated iris varieties that we think deserves more recognition.

Its flowers may not be a large as some others, however the pale lavender blooms are attractive as well as being fragrant.

For us it is the ease of growing this plant along with the strongly variegated foliage which makes it have a longer seasonal impact in the garden than many other varieties.

This carnation may be a little deeper pink than Jimmy Buffet had in mind, however carnations are a wonderful and varied group. We take a look a carnations, how to grow them and how to take care of them as cut flowers. And a few great carnation photographs as well.
You can see it all on our carnation pages.
And we do know its not the time to plant them right now, but plan ahead for a great display next spring and summer.

Sternbergia Lutea (Autumn Crocus)

Sternbergia Lutea (Autumn Crocus) is just one of a number of bulbs from the species that is well worth a place on the garden.
