I had a feeling that we would come home with one kitten when we visited my in-laws place last week.  The Affectionate One has been asking for a kitten for months. ...&lt;br/&gt;

Although, I could see it hovering around the edges waiting to pounce when my brother texted a picture of my mom on the beach.  His footnote to the picture was that it was nearly 80*.  At the time of his text I was bundled up using the leaf blower on the remainder of the leaves littering our yard.  Ugh.

Love the season changes.  If only we could skip winter.

I did learn a lesson though while blowing the leaves.  Or just before employing the leaf...&lt;br/&gt;

My grandmother (aka GGB) turned 85 this week and almost every member of her family was there to help her celebrate.  All 35 of us managed to keep the surprise reunion/birthday party a secret.  Not an easy task for my talkative chickadees.  Poor grandma, the chickadees had to be incommunicado for a couple of weeks so as to...&lt;br/&gt;

A so-so movie that has a very unsubtle message:  humans are cruel and nasty and if we just ask for what we want instead of fighting a war, then we'd all get along.  Um, yeah.  Political leanings aside, all during the movie I kept asking myself, who's voice is that?  It turned out to be Danny Glover's voice.  I knew I knew that voice, but I just couldn't place it.

Whirling Dervish and I haunt the library frequently during the school week.  With all the neat toys, story time, and enough picture books to claim sensory overload as a medical condition, it's a big draw.

I love the library too.  Well, I love it and fear it.  I am somewhat a reluctant participant.  I love the chance to check out free books - especially since I am really cheap frugal and books are expensive.  I love that our library has DVDs and affords other...&lt;br/&gt;

Whirling Dervish:  Mom?  After Jesus died did He use His Spirit to raise Himself from the dead?  And now He is in Heaven with God?

Me:  Yep.

Whirling Dervish:  Huh. (*thoughtful pause* and then matter of factly)  That's pretty impressive.

She is excited to cheer at the Varsity football game on Friday night, but  last night she had all kinds of questions.  Of course, she waited until bedtime to ask them.  It may (a-hem) have been a stalling tactic, but I was happy to indulge her for a few moments.

Where do I go?  How will I get there?  Will the bus wait for me?  Will daddy pick me up?  What if I get hungry?  Will they give us snacks?

Cooler weather = autumn.  Where did summer go, anyway?  We still have nearly a week left of official summer and yet it left us about three weeks ago.  Not that I mind the milder temperatures.  I do wonder when the global warming is supposed to hit Rural County Ohio though.  I think...&lt;br/&gt;
