&lt;div&gt;A few months back when when the World&#39;s economic climate changed for the worst, everyone was in a state of shock. I was. Not knowing what was going to happen next. Will the stock market go down a few more points today? How many more new unemployment compensation claims will be filed? Which business will be closing down today? How many people do I personally know of who have lost their job or had work hours or pay cut?&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
All of this gets depressing when you personally are affected by any of the above situations. But what about when it&#39;s your neighbor, your cousin, Aunt Sue or your best friend from high school? It&#39;s happened to them, its hitting them hard. In your circle of friends, family, fellow church members, many people facing financial crisis and difficulty, what do you do?&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
You do sympathize with them, you do share their pain, especially if you are dealing with the same situation, but how much is too much? I got stressed listening to other peoples woes and it pained me, but when I found I was getting depressed, stressed and re-living those calamities day after day, I had to say STOP!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I had to ask myself&#39;, &quot;What can I do to help you?&quot; A few words of consolation and support, maybe give a few suggestions, but not much more. What I &lt;em&gt;could&lt;/em&gt; do is help them to see a positive that may come about or help steer them in the direction to go. It&#39;s so easy to &lt;span class=&quot;blsp-spelling-corrected&quot; id=&quot;SPELLING_ERROR_0&quot;&gt;moan&lt;/span&gt; and drown ourselves in our sorrows or those of others; but does that make anyone feel better? Does it solve the problem?&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Set some boundaries for yourself. Cry feel depressed, that&#39;s normal but set a goal as to what you are going to do that is positive and will help turn things around. If a family member or friend is in dire straits, maybe some immediate aid would be appropriate, but help them to look up &#39;above ground&#39; for themselves and take action. Don&#39;t take on their emotional baggage too! You cannot carry it all.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I read an article the other day. It was directed to business owners on how not to let your client&#39;s money drama kill your business and how a business owner needs to avoid taking on their financial baggage that can jeopardize their business. Its worth reading the article: &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.kendallsummerhawk.com/blog/money-and-mindset/how-to-avoid-taking-on-your-clients-money-drama&quot;&gt;How to avoid ‘taking on’ your clients’ money drama.&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Anyone can find themselves in an unexpected or difficult money situation. How you handle your own and other people&#39;s situation determines whether you&#39;re taking on their economic stress and allowing them to Money Dump on you! Be compassionate but don&#39;t carry more &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.womenbusinessconnection.com/womenshealth.htm&quot;&gt;stress&lt;/a&gt; than you can bear.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class=&quot;blogger-post-footer&quot;&gt;Kendra Davenport writes &amp; Contributes content to the website: http://www.womenbusinessconnection.com&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://notworkingwhatnow.blogspot.com/2010/08/are-you-carrying-other-peoples-economic.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (Kendra Davenport)</author><media:thumbnail xmlns:media="http://search.yahoo.com/mrss/" url="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiabNprsIgezbJQvhk4CW1CwZAF-uUpbINsLKO87TV7Ngc9hiLnPR76hOzQ9Qh37_WWxBkZayan9jMftS0rBfmQj77nrNqV9pWn0RLxyifADACSntI6L-r8UoduQfT0uUUhbrpDQ_qk0CU/s72-c/stressfull-baggage.jpg" height="72" width="72"/><thr:total>0</thr:total></item><item><guid isPermaLink="false">tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-257124305724693728.post-141946101390549178</guid><pubDate>Mon, 28 Sep 2009 16:27:00 +0000</pubDate><atom:updated>2009-09-28T13:09:48.757-04:00</atom:updated><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">Business Ideas for Kids</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">entrepreneurs</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">mark victor hansen</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">Mark Victor Hansen The Richest Kids in America book</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">Millionaire Kids</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">the richest kids in america</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">Young Entrepreneurs l Rich Kids</category><title>The Richest Kids In America</title><description>&lt;iframe style=&quot;WIDTH: 120px; HEIGHT: 240px&quot; marginheight=&quot;0&quot; src=&quot;http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?lt1=_blank&amp;amp;bc1=FFFFFF&amp;amp;IS2=1&amp;amp;nou=1&amp;amp;bg1=FFFFFF&amp;amp;fc1=000000  &amp;amp;lc1=1A1AC1&amp;amp;t=womenbusincon-20&amp;amp;o=1&amp;amp;p=8&amp;amp;l=as1&amp;amp;m=amazon&amp;amp;f=ifr&amp;amp;asins=0981970907&quot; frameborder=&quot;0&quot; marginwidth=&quot;0&quot; scrolling=&quot;no&quot;&gt;&lt;/iframe&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I read a very good book over the weekend. It was titled &quot;The Richest Kids in America&quot; by Mark Victor Hansen.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is basically about a group of young people who used their creative ideas or gifts and made a lot of money. In most of the stories the young people did not set about going into business but they eventually saw a need in the market to fill. Their friends or family were then willing to pay them for their work and so started the business venture!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Although this book is looking at the entrepreneurial spirit of these youngsters it is a valuable book for all age groups to just look at what we are capable of in the raw form and put it into practise. The book really identifies how young people think and how as adults in our adult years we sometimes make things more complicated than they need to be.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The book contains some useful checklists to help get your thoughts and ideas down on paper. A key phase I got from this publication is &quot;Implementation is what takes you from being a dreamer to an entrepreneur&quot;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I recommend this book &quot;The Richest Kids in America&quot; for anyone seeking to start a business and it also is a good book to encourage our children to branch out and make their own money at an early age.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;div class=&quot;blogger-post-footer&quot;&gt;Kendra Davenport writes &amp; Contributes content to the website: http://www.womenbusinessconnection.com&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://notworkingwhatnow.blogspot.com/2009/09/richest-kids-in-america.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (Kendra Davenport)</author><thr:total>1</thr:total></item><item><guid isPermaLink="false">tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-257124305724693728.post-7890160228434127622</guid><pubDate>Fri, 25 Sep 2009 20:05:00 +0000</pubDate><atom:updated>2010-08-27T16:25:56.631-04:00</atom:updated><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">earn extra income on ebay</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">ebay for dummies</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">income from ebay</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">selling on ebay</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">starting a business on ebay</category><title>What are the Different Ebay Auction Types?</title><description>Following on from my last post about income from selling on Ebay, I just wanted to let you know a little about the different types of auction on EBay. Over the years, eBay has introduced all sorts of different auction types, in an effort to give people more options when they buy and sell their things on eBay.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you&#39;re a seller who doesn&#39;t like the idea that their item might sell for a far lower price than they intend, there&#39;s someone else who wants to sell hundreds of the same item quickly. eBay tries to cater to all tastes. Here is an overview of the different kinds of auctions and their advantages for you.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Normal Auctions&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;These are the grass roots for EBay, the auctions everyone knows: buyers bid, others outbid them, they bid again, and the winner gets the item. Simple.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Reserve Auctions&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Reserve auctions are for sellers who don&#39;t want their items to sell for less than a certain price - a concept you&#39;ll know about if you&#39;re familiar with real auctions. They work just like normal auctions on eBay, except that the buyer will be told if their bid does not meet the reserve price you set, and they&#39;ll need to bid again if they want the item. If no-one is willing to meet your price, then the auction is cancelled, and you keep the item.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Fixed Price (&#39;Buy it Now&#39;) Auctions&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&quot;Buy it Now&quot; auctions can work in one of two ways. You can add a Buy it Now button to a normal auction, meaning that buyers can choose either to bid normally or to simply pay the asking price and avoid the whole bidding process. Some sellers, though, now cut out the auction process altogether and simply list all their items at fixed price. This lets you avoid all the complications of the auction format and simply list your items for how much you want to sell them for.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Recently, eBay added a twist to fixed price auctions: the &#39;best offer&#39;. This means that buyers can contact you to negotiate a price, which could be a good way to get rid of some extra stock at a small discount. The only downside to reserve and fixed price auctions is that you pay a small extra fee to use these formats. In general, it is more worth using reserve auctions for higher-priced items and fixed price auctions for lower-priced ones - but remember that you can combine the two formats.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Multiple Item (&#39;Dutch&#39;) Auctions&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;These are auctions where you can sell more than one of a certain item. Dutch auctions can be done by bidding. Buyers bid a price and say how many items they want, and then everyone pays the lowest price that was bid by one of the winning bidders. If you have trouble getting your head around that, then don&#39;t worry - everyone else does too! These auctions are very rare.&lt;br /&gt;What is more common is when a seller has a lot of one item, and lists it using a combination of two auction types: a multiple-item fixed price auction. This just means that you can just say how many of the item you have, and offer them at a fixed price per unit. Buyers can enter how many they want and then just click Buy it Now to get them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now that you know about the different types of auctions, you should make sure that the items you plan to sell don&#39;t violate eBay&#39;s listing policies.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Read more about starting a business ob Ebay at: &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.womenbusinessconnection.com/Online%20Auctions.htm&quot;&gt;http://www.womenbusinessconnection.com/Online%20Auctions.htm&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div class=&quot;blogger-post-footer&quot;&gt;Kendra Davenport writes &amp; Contributes content to the website: http://www.womenbusinessconnection.com&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://notworkingwhatnow.blogspot.com/2009/09/what-are-different-ebay-auction-types.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (Kendra Davenport)</author><thr:total>0</thr:total></item><item><guid isPermaLink="false">tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-257124305724693728.post-6647004276816426763</guid><pubDate>Thu, 24 Sep 2009 18:46:00 +0000</pubDate><atom:updated>2011-03-03T17:20:34.567-05:00</atom:updated><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">earn extra income on ebay</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">ebay</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">ebay for dummies</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">ebay income</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">free ebay book</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">make money on ebay</category><title>EBay Income Possibilities</title><description>&lt;a href=&quot;http://launch.roirocket.com/z/17574/CD60645/&quot;&gt;&lt;img alt=&quot;&quot; border=&quot;0&quot; src=&quot;http://launch.roirocket.com/42/60645/17574/&quot; /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
You’ve probably read an article or headline about eBay income; you will have read of people making thousands of dollars per month on eBay.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The next time you&#39;re on eBay, take a look at how many PowerSellers there are: you&#39;ll find quite a few. Now consider that every single one of one of them must be making at least $1,000 per month, as that&#39;s eBay&#39;s requirement for becoming a PowerSeller. Silver PowerSellers make at least $3,000 each month, while Gold PowerSellers make more than $10,000, and the Platinum level is $25,000. The top ranking is Titanium PowerSeller, and to qualify you must make at least $150,000 in sales every month!&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The fact that these people exist gives you come idea of the income possibilities here. Most of them never set out to even set up a business on eBay - they simply started selling a few things, and then kept going. There are many people whose full-time job are selling things on eBay, and have been doing it for years now. Imagine that? Once they&#39;ve bought the stock, everything else is pretty much pure profit for these people - they don&#39;t need to pay for any business premises, staff, or anything else. There are multi-million making businesses making less in actual profit than eBay PowerSellers do.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Even if you don&#39;t want to quit your job right now and really go for it, you can still use eBay to make a significant second income. You can pack up orders during the week and take them down to the post office for delivery each Saturday. You can even have the Mail person pick up from you! There are few other things you could be doing with your spare time but will not have anywhere near that kind of earning potential.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
What&#39;s more, eBay doesn&#39;t care who you are, where you live, or what you look like. Some live out in the middle of nowhere where selling on eBay is one of the few alternatives to farming or working in the city. EBay tears down the barriers to earning that the real world constantly puts up. There&#39;s no job interview and no commuting involved - if you can post things, you can do it.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Put it this way: if you know where to get something reasonably cheaply that you could sell, then you can sell it on eBay - and since you can always get discounts for bulk at wholesale, that&#39;s not exactly difficult. Buy a job lot of something in-demand cheaply, then sell it on eBay, and you&#39;re making money already, with no start-up costs.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If you want to dip your toe in the water before you actually commit to buying anything, then you can just sell things that you&#39;ve got lying around in the house. Search through that cupboard for stuff you never use, you&#39;ll probably find you&#39;ve got a few hundred dollars&#39; worth of stuff lying around in there! This is the power of eBay: there is always someone who wants what you&#39;re selling, whatever it might be, and since they&#39;ve come looking for you, you don&#39;t even need to do anything but to get them to buy it.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
So you want to get started on eBay income? Well, that&#39;s great! There are only a few little things you need to learn to get started. That will be the next topic on this blog.&lt;div class=&quot;blogger-post-footer&quot;&gt;Kendra Davenport writes &amp; Contributes content to the website: http://www.womenbusinessconnection.com&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://notworkingwhatnow.blogspot.com/2009/09/ebay-income-possibilities.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (Kendra Davenport)</author><thr:total>0</thr:total></item><item><guid isPermaLink="false">tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-257124305724693728.post-2485218101796171490</guid><pubDate>Thu, 27 Aug 2009 16:25:00 +0000</pubDate><atom:updated>2009-08-27T14:34:14.693-04:00</atom:updated><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">basket of fruit</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">fruit baskets</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">fruit gift basket</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">gift basket</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">gourmet gift baskets</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">organic gift basket</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">send gift basket</category><title>Women in Business and your Health</title><description>&lt;a href=&quot;http://www.thefruitcompany.com/142-1-1-9.html&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;&lt;img border=&quot;0&quot; src=&quot;http://www.idevaffiliate.com/31287/banners/simply_300x250.jpg&quot; width=&quot;300&quot; height=&quot;250&quot; /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I&#39;m going in a little bit of a different direction today in regard to Women in Business. We all need to provide for our families and we work very hard at it. But as the old saying goes &quot;all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy&quot;. We need to set aside time for ourselves. As women and if we are also a mother we are the nurse, the cook, the cleaner, the nurturer, companion and so much more. We tend to be always giving and not spending enough time nurturing ourselves.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Once a week take time for &lt;strong&gt;you.&lt;/strong&gt; We know we need to exercise which helps to reduce stress, but also like to eat and that gives us comfort. How I like to think about it is why not take comfort in the right foods. I like fruit, especially peaches and cherries which are in season right now. I found a great place to get comfort. Send yourselves a fruit gift basket.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The Fruit Company.com &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.thefruitcompany.com/142-1-3-1.html&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;Fruit of the Month&lt;/a&gt; has a great variety of fruit. they also have the naughty sweets too! The gift basket is a great idea to send to someone who needs cheering up (who doesn&#39;t these days) or for that gift for a special occasion. Gift baskets are also a great gift to sent to business partners and others you do business with, especially at holiday time. They can also make great center pieces at a dinner party or on a banquet table. Hey, why not treat your staff!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway as business owners, in order to continue great at what we do, we need to eat healthy. So go ahead and treat yourself or someone you love to a lovely basket of fruit. And may all your hard work be &quot;fruitful&#39;!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://www.thefruitcompany.com/142-1-1-13.html&quot; target=&quot;_blank&quot;&gt;&lt;img border=&quot;0&quot; src=&quot;http://www.idevaffiliate.com/31287/banners/468x60.jpg&quot; width=&quot;468&quot; height=&quot;60&quot; /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div class=&quot;blogger-post-footer&quot;&gt;Kendra Davenport writes &amp; Contributes content to the website: http://www.womenbusinessconnection.com&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://notworkingwhatnow.blogspot.com/2009/08/women-in-business-and-your-health.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (Kendra Davenport)</author><thr:total>0</thr:total></item><item><guid isPermaLink="false">tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-257124305724693728.post-4285547259183213075</guid><pubDate>Tue, 04 Aug 2009 19:55:00 +0000</pubDate><atom:updated>2009-08-12T11:45:56.338-04:00</atom:updated><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">article creator</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">article spinner</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">Article spinning</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">article writer</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">article writing software</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">Mass Article Control</category><title>What is Mass Article Control?</title><description>&lt;div align=&quot;center&quot;&gt;&lt;em&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-family:verdana;font-size:130%;&quot;&gt;Article Spinning with Mass Article Control&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;left&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-family:verdana;&quot;&gt;&lt;em&gt;Article spinning Software&lt;/em&gt; works by replacing elements of your articles, such as whole sentences, single words or even entire paragraphs within an article. The advantage of &lt;em&gt;spinning an article&lt;/em&gt; is that you can submit your article many times to different locations (blogs, websites) without having your article labeled for duplication.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I’m writing today to tell you about a useful software that I have found that has helped me recently, (&lt;em&gt;Mass Article Control&lt;/em&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://bit.ly/H48mP&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-family:verdana;&quot;&gt;http://bit.ly/H48mP&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-family:verdana;&quot;&gt;) and I’m sure many of you writers will find this &lt;em&gt;article writing software&lt;/em&gt; useful to you, whether you write for fun or for business.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Many people have their reasons for using an &lt;em&gt;article spinner/article writing software,&lt;/em&gt; but my reason for using it is to rewrite some of my articles with a fresh feel. For me personally, when I write it is not always easy to rewrite and be somewhat different especially if you are trying to appeal to completely different audience. Also you can&#39;t always think of the right alternative to a word. That&#39;s how I found and use a software &lt;em&gt;Mass Article Control&lt;/em&gt;. I think it is a valuable program as it gives you great synonyms that you may not have even thought of and unlike some free &lt;em&gt;article spinners&lt;/em&gt; out there; you control the content so it remains in a readable form that make sense!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Advantages:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;left&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-family:Verdana;&quot;&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;left&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-family:verdana;&quot;&gt;- 1 article can magically become 100&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-family:verdana;&quot;&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;left&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- Articles can avoid being banned for duplicate content&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;left&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt;- You learn a lot of new vocabulary&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;left&quot;&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;left&quot;&gt;- And lots more &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;left&quot;&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;left&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt;See for yourself. It is really easy to use. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;left&quot;&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;left&quot;&gt;They are also offering a directory submitter along with the article writing software for free! I don’t know how long that offer will last for so grab it while you can and get writing and article writing today! Women own over 9 million businesses yet they receive the smallest amount of financing from traditional sources such as banks and venture capital firms. Traditionally, women own smaller types of businesses that don&#39;t need financial assistance of $250,000 or more and so financing options are limited. &lt;br /&gt;Business grants, however, are difficult to come by. Most businesses are created with loans which rely on good credit histories and collateral that women may have a hard time supplying. Women often choose to max out their credit cards or borrow from family members in order to start a business, which may make their own finances uncomfortable.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are over thousand’s of recognized state, federal and private grant awarding agencies throughout the United States. Far too many to list here but I can briefly condense some of the categories of small business grants for women that you will be able to find by searching the grants database.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You can search by a particular business title if you wish. For example, grants for day care centers, scientific research grants, farming and agricultural grants, etc. And you may also find a number of available free money opportunities when looking for gender or ethnic specific grants like minority business grants, women business grants, or grants for single parents.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;How to find Small Business Grants for Women&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Online&lt;br /&gt;There are several online sites worth looking at that provide information and access to grants. In addition to this, there are sites specifically aimed to giving grants to women. These sites attempt to help the female population succeed in entrepreneurialism and climb on the ladder of success. There are women&#39;s funding networks which promote the growth of women&#39;s funds and empower women to encourage strategic networking among themselves, donors and communities.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The local Small Business Association (SBA) office &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.sba.gov/&quot;&gt;http://www.sba.gov/&lt;/a&gt; should help you in finding the right business grants. Even grants that are not advertised online can be found here. They should also point you in the right direction of grants offered in your area of business.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Count-me-in &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.count-me-in.org/&quot;&gt;http://www.count-me-in.org&lt;/a&gt; - Is a new fundraising organization that raises money from women for women. Loans are given from $500 to $10,000 (for first time recipients the maximum amount is $5,000). Count-Me-In looks like a great resource with funding consideration based on experience over credit history. Check them out! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For more on &lt;em&gt;small business grants for women&lt;/em&gt; see: &lt;a href=&quot;http://womenbusinessconnection.com/SmallBusinessGrantsforWomen.htm&quot;&gt;http://womenbusinessconnection.com/SmallBusinessGrantsforWomen.htm&lt;/a&gt;&lt;div class=&quot;blogger-post-footer&quot;&gt;Kendra Davenport writes &amp; Contributes content to the website: http://www.womenbusinessconnection.com&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://notworkingwhatnow.blogspot.com/2009/07/small-business-grants-for-women.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (Kendra Davenport)</author><thr:total>1</thr:total></item><item><guid isPermaLink="false">tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-257124305724693728.post-4255395762289089709</guid><pubDate>Sun, 12 Jul 2009 00:22:00 +0000</pubDate><atom:updated>2009-07-11T20:37:17.183-04:00</atom:updated><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">entrepreneurial women</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">female entrepreneur</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">own business</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">Woman Entrepreneur</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">women</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">women business owners</category><title>It Pays to be a Woman Entrepreneur</title><description>If you think you&#39;re at a disadvantage as a &lt;em&gt;female entrepreneur&lt;/em&gt;, think again. You&#39;re good at quite a few things but you don&#39;t know which of your skills you want to hone in on and market to get paid for or &lt;em&gt;start your own business&lt;/em&gt;? Do what you love! Your business is going to be your livelihood - you should have a good time doing it. If not, it will be difficult to get motivated at times. That is the dilemma most of us have reached. You are not alone, many a millionaire faced that same crossroad.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A number of new &lt;em&gt;entrepreneurs&lt;/em&gt; have identified&lt;em&gt; niche&lt;/em&gt; opportunities in an economic downturn. It&#39;s really about getting back to the basics and finding what people are still spending money on. It&#39;s a matter of being creative and really looking around and figuring out what are the necessities that people are still spending money on in this difficult time. That is where to find your &lt;strong&gt;business idea! &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;div class=&quot;blogger-post-footer&quot;&gt;Kendra Davenport writes &amp; Contributes content to the website: http://www.womenbusinessconnection.com&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://notworkingwhatnow.blogspot.com/2009/06/big-idea.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (Kendra Davenport)</author><thr:total>0</thr:total></item><item><guid isPermaLink="false">tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-257124305724693728.post-752281362187336043</guid><pubDate>Mon, 22 Jun 2009 19:51:00 +0000</pubDate><atom:updated>2009-06-22T17:22:13.274-04:00</atom:updated><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">starting a business</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">women</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">women in business</category><title>Am I ready to start my Own business?</title><description>Starting a new &lt;em&gt;business is&lt;/em&gt; quite a daunting task and it is not advantageous for everyone. Definitely if you are not &lt;em&gt;self motivated&lt;/em&gt; and don&#39;t like to work hard. Emotionally it can be hard especially if you have other pressures to deal with like money &amp;amp; family issues.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;left&quot;&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size:85%;&quot;&gt;Questions to ask yourself before you take the plunge Into Starting a Business&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;left&quot;&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;left&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size:85%;&quot;&gt;&lt;strong&gt;By Gloria J Little&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align=&quot;left&quot;&gt;&lt;span style=&quot;font-size:85%;&quot;&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;So you truly believe that you are able to have a business. Why, because others have one? Or because you think you would be good at it. So did I until I failed for the first three times. Then, I got a clue. Business doesn’t just happen!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Before you make that move into what may be the worst idea you have ever had in life, take the following test for success. Be honest with yourself because it is you who will be made or broken in the process.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;1. Are you organized or do you have to try to remember where your house keys are on a daily basis?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2. Do you have personal drive or do you have to be persuaded to change the channel on the TV?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;3. Are you a leader or do you have trouble getting your pet to go outside?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;4. How is your health? Do you get a cold when there is a 1-degree change in the weather?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;5. Are you able to maintain for long hours? Or will your place of business close at noon, because you are so tired?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;6. Are you mentally UP for the challenge?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;7. Are you prepared for the risk involved?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;8. Are you prepared to wait several months for your first profit?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;9. What is your reason for wanting to &lt;em&gt;start a business&lt;/em&gt;?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;10. Is your business your passion?&lt;br /&gt;11. Who are your customers outside of your immediate circle of influence?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;12. What are the demographics of your customer base?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;13. Do you have the expertise you need in the business you want to start?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;14. How are you going to sell what you have at a price that will return an adequate profit for you?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;15. Can you obtain the necessary funds you will need to start and keep the business running without getting into a cash flow problem?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;16. Do you think and plan ahead?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;17. Do you have a &lt;strong&gt;business plan&lt;/strong&gt;?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;18. Do you know the difference between marketing, promoting and advertising?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;19. Who is advising you?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;20. Start writing out your plan.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I found this helpful, maybe you will too.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div class=&quot;blogger-post-footer&quot;&gt;Kendra Davenport writes &amp; Contributes content to the website: http://www.womenbusinessconnection.com&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://notworkingwhatnow.blogspot.com/2009/06/am-i-ready-to-start-my-own-business.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (Kendra Davenport)</author><thr:total>0</thr:total></item><item><guid isPermaLink="false">tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-257124305724693728.post-6298313385134876802</guid><pubDate>Thu, 18 Jun 2009 17:53:00 +0000</pubDate><atom:updated>2009-06-21T23:08:48.785-04:00</atom:updated><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">home business</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">online store</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">shopping.</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">sunglasses</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">Zlio</category><title>My Online Business</title><description>I&#39;ve got used to being at home a little bit more. I&#39;ve been able to do what I should have done. I have more time to read and research my next move. While reading a helpful ebook I discovered an business opportunity.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I researched the company to find out if it was a possible scam. I found no negative comments about them. I took the plunge... I opened an &lt;strong&gt;online store&lt;/strong&gt;!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Nothing too fancy. I don&#39;t have to buy any stock, nothing to ship out. No up front costs! I am selling &lt;em&gt;sunglasses&lt;/em&gt; here is my website: &lt;a href=&quot;http://sunglasseswithstyle.zlio.net/&quot;&gt;http://sunglasseswithstyle.zlio.net/&lt;/a&gt; Take a look, see what you think. Be one of my first customers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Having a blog of your own? Why not. But having your own online shop is even better! It takes less than five minutes to sign up, a few more to personalize your &lt;em&gt;shop&lt;/em&gt; and finally, a pleasurable stroll through &lt;strong&gt;Zlio&lt;/strong&gt;’s directory of over three million items to fill your newly-created virtual e-store. And at the end of the day, you get a commission on every sale generated through your store (2 to 15%, depending on the supplier). &lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;p&gt;The most important thing, then, is to generate traffic on your shop (mine’s here, by the way!) Or in addition, you can rely on your family and friends - indeed, if you refer someone to Zlio, Zlio gives you a free bonus of 10% of that person’s commissions, for ever, and 5% of the commissions of anyone they refer in turn! I realized brooding about my situation isn&#39;t going to help unless I do something about it or change my outlook on things.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I decided to take some time to absorb my situation, therefore the absence of any recent &lt;em&gt;blogs&lt;/em&gt;. &lt;span id=&quot;SPELLING_ERROR_2&quot; class=&quot;blsp-spelling-corrected&quot;&gt;No &lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;job&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt; hunting&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; for a while. I tried to focus on &lt;span id=&quot;SPELLING_ERROR_3&quot; class=&quot;blsp-spelling-corrected&quot;&gt;appreciating&lt;/span&gt; what I already do have. I have a loving family both &lt;span id=&quot;SPELLING_ERROR_4&quot; class=&quot;blsp-spelling-corrected&quot;&gt;immediate&lt;/span&gt; and extended. I have food on the table, enough for each day. (Isn&#39;t that what we pray for in the Lord&#39;s prayer? &quot;Give us our bread for each day&quot;) I have relatively good health, no &lt;span id=&quot;SPELLING_ERROR_5&quot; class=&quot;blsp-spelling-corrected&quot;&gt;major&lt;/span&gt; problems. I know of others worse off than me who I can support and encourage. And that&#39;s &lt;span id=&quot;SPELLING_ERROR_7&quot; class=&quot;blsp-spelling-corrected&quot;&gt;what&lt;/span&gt; I continue to do.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I&#39;m wanting to start my own business and &lt;em&gt;work at home&lt;/em&gt;. I&#39;ve&lt;span id=&quot;SPELLING_ERROR_8&quot; class=&quot;blsp-spelling-error&quot;&gt; had &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;blsp-spelling-error&quot;&gt;a few &lt;/span&gt;ideas and welcome more. Has anyone started a&lt;strong&gt; home business&lt;/strong&gt; recently? I now have somewhere to direct my emotions and attention.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Will keep you posted!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;script type=&quot;text/javascript&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt;var gaJsHost = ((&quot;https:&quot; == document.location.protocol) ? &quot;https://ssl.&quot; : &quot;http://www.&quot;);&lt;br /&gt;document.write(unescape(&quot;%3Cscript src=&#39;&quot; + gaJsHost + &quot;google-analytics.com/ga.js&#39; type=&#39;text/javascript&#39;%3E%3C/script%3E&quot;));&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/script&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;script type=&quot;text/javascript&quot;&gt;&lt;br /&gt;try {&lt;br /&gt;var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker(&quot;UA-9202037-1&quot;);&lt;br /&gt;pageTracker._trackPageview();&lt;br /&gt;} catch(err) {}&lt;/script&gt;&lt;div class=&quot;blogger-post-footer&quot;&gt;Kendra Davenport writes &amp; Contributes content to the website: http://www.womenbusinessconnection.com&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://notworkingwhatnow.blogspot.com/2009/06/as-time-goes-by.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (Kendra Davenport)</author><thr:total>0</thr:total></item><item><guid isPermaLink="false">tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-257124305724693728.post-4234420322996307265</guid><pubDate>Wed, 13 May 2009 17:03:00 +0000</pubDate><atom:updated>2009-05-13T13:28:31.019-04:00</atom:updated><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">jobless</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">panic</category><category domain="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#">unemployed</category><title>The First Day</title><description>&lt;span style=&quot;font-family:arial;&quot;&gt;My first day of not going into work was strange. Strange? Why should it be. I always wanted to not have to work one day, potter around the house and do as I pleased. But that day was different, the house was different. It is the same house I lived in for years but it seemed so much quieter, I was so alone. But I&#39;ve been in the house alone before?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The tears I cried on Friday have gone. I had a good weekend with the family. My husband trying to cheer me up and reassure me we&#39;ll be o.k. Now today is Monday. What shall I do? Do laundry, clean the refrigerator, dust, watch old movies on AMC, the list was endless. What did I do? None of the above.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Motivation is gone. No interest in anything. The minutes ticking away into hours. Just the sound of the ticking clock. Tick tock. tick tock.... How long will it last? Am I alone?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Not working...what now! &lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class=&quot;blogger-post-footer&quot;&gt;Kendra Davenport writes &amp; Contributes content to the website: http://www.womenbusinessconnection.com&lt;/div&gt;</description><link>http://notworkingwhatnow.blogspot.com/2009/05/first-day.html</link><author>noreply@blogger.com (Kendra Davenport)</author><thr:total>0</thr:total></item></channel></rss>
