That scum Man Monis aka Sheik Haron has been charged with seven counts of using a postal service to harass or menace or cause offence. He is accused of sending abusive letters to families of deceased Australian soldiers killed in Afghanistan.

He's lawyered up now, some anti-Australian scum lawyer, who said, "his client is a peace activist." Pardon me so I can vomit!

I must again laugh at this scum and his defence is a joke. What he has done to the widows is disgraceful and he should get the maximum sentence which I believe is a year on each harassment count and five years for the menace or cause offence.

If he sent harassment letters to Iranian widows I guarantee you he would be swinging from the gallows (Pictured above) at this very moment. I reckon in this case Sharia Law comes in very handy in cases like this!

Rudd hell-bent on beating Whitlam: bad government

FOR more than 30 years the Whitlam government has been the -- unsurpassable -- benchmark for bad government in Australia.

With its uniquely disastrous blend of ideology, arrogance, poor administrative process and fiscal extravagance and simple ineptitude.

Since 1975, many people and things have been characterised as the "worst since Whitlam", none "worse than". Not even the sorry, bumbling administration of Malcolm Fraser that followed.

And the one thing that bound Bob Hawke and Paul Keating so tightly together and drove their approach to government in 1983 was the determination not to end up as "Whitlam Mark II".

Now, however, Kevin Rudd seems embarked on challenging that benchmark. Arguably Rudd has already seized from Fraser -- or Keating as prime minister -- the claim to be the "worst since Whitlam", but there's a case to be made that he's on the way to, or has already become, the first to be "worse than".

That's a big, big call. Especially after the government's "go early, go hard, go households" coup in snatching the country from the jaws of the global recession, allowing Rudd and his Treasurer Wayne Swan (and economic guide and Treasury Secretary Ken Henry) to bask in the spotlight of world admiration and applause.

So what's the basis of my call? The fiscal stimulus -- or to give it its official Swan title, stimulus -- is actually part of my case against the Rudd government, but it's more the "filling" between the two truly totemic failures.

The $43billion National Broadband Network and the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme.

That is, of course, $43bn give or take the odd $10bn or $20bn.

Actually, despite what the good Senator Conroy -- Rex Connor Mark II -- suggests, it is those sums either way.

And despite the title, the CPRS has got nothing to do with "carbon pollution", but the reduction of life-enhancing carbon dioxide.

So why is this worse than everything that Whitlam threw at us? From disastrously inept ministerial governance and -- the real -- Connor and Khemlani, and on to the numbing 46 per cent increase in spending in the 1974 budget?

Well, the approach to the NBN makes everything in the Whitlam period look almost like a model of good governance.

Here we have a government prepared to spend $43bn on the 21st century national infrastructure project without having embarked on the most basic cost-benefit assessment.

And without having the slightest idea of what the most basic metrics could be or would have to be to make any sense of it. The very uncertainty of the figure is most damning of all.

Or perhaps the failure to ask even the most basic question of all -- is there any need for it? Beyond either the childish tantrum: Kevin wants, wants, wants an NBN now. Or the adolescent indulgence: well, everyone just has to have an NBN.

That's the big-picture absurdity, before you even begin to start on the process. Process?

What process?

Exactly.

The evidence extracted from Connor II -- sorry, Con-roy -- is that there was no formal departmental and cabinet process. Indeed it was an eerily similar "good idea at the time" between minister and prime minister replay of some of the original Connor and Whitlam extravaganzas. Further, it wasn't just process failure at the "good idea" level.

We embarked on a year-long exercise to tender for a $12bn FTTN -- fibre-to-the-node -- network; only to suddenly, and I do mean suddenly, announce we would instead build a $43bn (sic) FTTH -- fibre-to-the-home -- one. And launch an assault on a company, Telstra, which however well intentioned and even arguably necessary in the "national interest", was extraordinary and unprecedented. All without any discussion, far less assessment.

The best you could say about all this is that it was truly Whitlamistic. Both the Business Council and, even more tellingly, the Productivity Commission have utterly eviscerated the government's failure to do any assessment.

While Rudd might believe that the combination of Howard and Costello and China have bestowed on him and his government unlimited dollars to splash around, the laws of arithmetic bind him and deliver outcomes just as surely as they did Whitlam.

A dollar or $43bn spent on the NBN is a dollar or $43bn not spent on other infrastructure.

Like, the sort of infrastructure we actually need to ride the China/Asian boom. They're not coming here to buy the stuff moving at light speed over a future NBN, but the hard stuff you dig out of the ground.

So we have the said Henry extolling a golden future built on the new resources boom while his pupil and master pours upwards of $60bn of our still precious savings into enabling fast movie downloads and building school halls. Plaques attached.

A crude mechanistic Keynesianism informs both Henry's advice and analysis. The latter to justify the former.

So the "go hard, go early, etc" prompted the succession of multi-billion dollar spending packages -- no different in substance to Keynes's original "dig holes and fill them up again" advice.

With the "advice" validated by a mechanistic Keynesian calculation that it converted what would otherwise have been 1.3 per cent negative growth in GDP over the 2008-09 year into a positive 0.6per cent.

I tend to the sceptical. That sort of crude Keynesianism might have had validity in the world of Henry's youth. In the complex dynamics of today the relationships are much less reliable.

But whatever might be the truth of allocating the gains between stimulus, the big rate cuts and China, the undeniable reality is the public debt that we emerge with. If it really 'twere for nothing, it would be bad enough.

If it's on the wrong infrastructure for our China-driven 21st century future, it is so much worse. What arguably takes Rudd beyond being merely Whitlam Mark II is the CPRS -- a direct and all-pervasive attack on the very foundation, not just of our national prosperity, but our very existence.

Quite apart from the devastating irony, it is exactly what we are selling and propose to sell much more of to China. Dr Steve Running, a co-author of the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, said this week that "if the US passed a cap and trade (their CPRS) and other countries did not, it wouldn't work. It would ruin the US economy and it wouldn't save the climate either".

This is the US, which has nothing like our investment in carbon and has actually embraced, at least to some extent, the nuclear power forbidden by the Rudd government.

Rudd wants to be the only developed country to go to Copenhagen with a mandatory carbon dioxide scheme. A sort of collective insanity seems to have engulfed the government. A seemingly trance-like desire to embrace national suicide.

At least it will finally free Gough Whitlam from his legacy.

Caltabiano ordered to pay court costs

Failed Liberal National Party (LNP) candidate Andrea Caltabiano has been ordered to pay costs for her unsuccessful court battle over the state election result in the Brisbane seat of Chatsworth.

Ms Caltabiano launched a legal challenge in the Court of Disputed Returns over the March state poll result, arguing voting errors contributed to Labor's win in the seat.

The application was dismissed in court in September.

Justice Roslyn Atkinson has ruled Ms Caltabiano should pay costs incurred during the proceedings by the Electoral Commission of Queensland and Labor member Steve Kilburn.

What a hoot, just like I said in my posting of 15 April 2009, "They will get this seat in anyway possible even if you don't have enough votes to win and this nonsense will go on and on!" Now they must pay a hefty price for there arrogance, I'm sure there mates at the LNP will bail them out, because it's always that way isn't it?

The policies of the Liberal Nazi Party (LNP) of Queensland:

1. No respect for past member contributions!

2. Blocking descent of the membership by Nazi storm-trooper tactics.

3. A systematic bullying of any member who questions policy and authority.

4. Smearing the membership and destroying the members good name.

5. Always conducting business in secret and as always unaccountable to the membership.

6. Revenge is operating policy.

7. Undermining regional Party authority as general policy.

8. Threatening current elected MP's if they question Party authority or speak out in public.

9. Office staff and an executive director insulting the membership on a daily basis.

10. A general disregard of the Party constitution.

This National or Nazi part of the LNP has managed to decimate the membership to an estimated 500 paid members from a pre-takeover membership of well over 3000. Now this was calculated by the National/Nazi Party before the takeover in July 2008.

Before the July 2008 takeover the QLD Liberal Party leadership lead by Gary Spence was on the nose and he knew his days were numbered and he would be gone at the May 2008 Liberal convention in Brisbane. My inside sources told me he went to the Nationals and proposed the merger so he could salvage the loss of power by sharing it with the Nationals. When he was defeated by a reform coalition of the Liberal Party lead by Mal Brough.

Note: Spence's loss was the worst in Party history!

With the loss, Spence cranked up the merger with the Nationals and quickly undermined Mal Brough leadership and lead the divided Liberal Party right into the lions den and into the hands of the scheming Nationals. Remember he was assured the post of vice-president of the newly merged Party, if he delivered the Liberal Party on a platter to the Nationals. Which he did with great gusto!

Since the takeover Spence and his National Party cronies have with the help of the traitors within the old Liberal Party, have managed to purge all the reform members out of the LNP.

Thus what is left is a weak, disorganised group of sad little people, who have served up the burnt out carcass of conservative politics to the QLD Socialist Labor Party government.

A LONG-TIME Liberal Party official has been expelled from Queensland's Liberal National Party after lambasting it as the "National Party in drag".

Phil Williams -- who served on the Liberal Party executive for five years and chaired the LNP's powerful central Brisbane division last year -- was thrown out of the LNP after blowing the whistle on alleged wastage at Brisbane City Council.

But the expulsion letter, signed by party secretary Mary Carroll, reveals that Mr Williams was kicked out of the LNP only after he sent a scathing letter of resignation to party president Bruce McIver, predicting an LNP loss at the next federal election.

"In essence, the LNP is, and always will be, the National Party in drag," he wrote. "It can never, and will never, represent true Liberal Party values.

"Putting lipstick on a pig doesn't change the fact that the beast is still a pig." Mr Williams's letter predicted that the LNP would be "decimated" in the looming federal election and have to be unwound into separate conservative parties.

He said the merger had "disaffected the hard-core Liberal and National Party workers and voters".

"Good luck in trying to man the booths at the upcoming elections," his letter said.

In her letter expelling Mr Williams, Ms Carroll responded that the LNP's state executive meeting on September 18 had resolved to "not accept the resignation", but to expel Mr Williams from the LNP.

"As you are aware, your membership of the LNP has been in question since publication of emails sent by you in November 2008, which raised questions of your compliance with your obligations as a member," she wrote.

Mr Williams said yesterday he had been expelled for "bringing the party into disrepute" by emailing Brisbane's Liberal Lord Mayor Campbell Newman with allegations of waste and maladministration at Brisbane City Council.

Mr Williams, a management consultant, was working at the council at the time as an IT consultant through his employer Fujitsu.

The email -- obtained by the Brisbane media after Mr Williams inadvertently sent it to an ALP city councillor -- claimed that "tens, if not hundreds of millions of dollars" of ratepayers' money had been squandered, and described how Mr Williams had witnessed "unproductive staff, ineffective managers and waste on operations and projects".

Mr Williams was sacked from his consultancy job, but Queensland's Crime and Misconduct Commission later cleared the mayor of any involvement.

Mr Williams -- who was a member of the Liberal Party for 36 years -- yesterday said it seemed "pretty stupid and pointless" to expel him after he had already quit the LNP. He claimed that at least 1000 Liberal Party members had quit the LNP since last year's merger.

"I believe at least 500 of them have joined with the West Australian or Victorian divisions of the Liberal Party," he said.

As chairman of the LNP's central Brisbane division, he had jurisdiction over the federal seats of Ryan, Greenslopes, Brisbane and Oxley.

The latest LNP ruction follows revelations in The Australian this month that long-serving Howard government minister Gary Hardgrave had been sent a "show-cause" letter threatening him with expulsion.

The disciplinary action related to Mr Hardgrave's remark, made while hosting a radio show, that Queensland Opposition Leader John-Paul Langbroek might not have the full support of everyone in his party.

Mr Hardgrave -- who branded the LNP a "bully" -- declined to comment

A interesting article in so many ways. My close Mate Phil Williams who resigned from LNP was instead thrown out of the Party at a 18 September bund meeting, sorry I meant board meeting lead by the Nationals "Eva Braun" aka Mary Carroll. Can you imagine the guy resigns and the LNP with so much hatred in there hearts decides instead that it wants its pound of flesh, so the tell him they won't accept his resignation then they expel him from the LNP.

I had a run in with the "Eva Braun" I guess she liked me because they accepted my letter of resignation back in February of this year. When they read this posting they will probably expel me retroactively to January. Later in this article Phil said, that "at least a 1000 former Liberals had left the LNP since last year's merger."

Phil your numbers are very low, the Liberal Party or should I say the LNP in the North has nothing left of its pre-merger membership. The Nationals Dennis Quick has managed to chase all the Liberals out of the Party up here. There is just a empty shell of former Liberal Party members left. The Nationals or should I say the LNP have no more that 10-15 active members in the far north now.

All the National trash has done what they set out to do and that was to destroy the Liberal Party in Queensland. And with the help of willing Liberal Party traitors like Gary Spence and Geoff Greene they have accomplished that goal.

Sheik writes letters to widows

The campaign by a self-styled sheik to write gloating letters to the widows of Australian soldiers killed in Afghanistan is repugnant, the Daily Telegraph says.
The paper says Sheik Haron's letters are a callous act which offends us all.
'Among those deeply outraged by Haron's letters are the overwhelming majority of Islamic Australians, who must be wondering what they've done to deserve an obnoxious Haron in their midst,' it says.
'They join essentially every other Australian in revulsion at Haron's toxic conduct.
'To that end, it could almost be said that Haron has served to bring Australians as a people closer together.
'If only that unity hadn't come at such a tragic cost - the heartbreak and shock of those who received Haron's poisonous mail.'
Haron was charged with seven counts of using a postal or similar service to menace, harass or cause offence.
He was bailed to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on November 10.
The maximum penalty for these offences is two years imprisonment.
This piece of scum is by far the worst scum in Australia and if I had my way he would be shot in the face with a shotgun and quartered! Or at the least be deported from Australia forthwith!
There is no room in Australia for this scum!

The Cairns Post today (19-10-09) reported that,

"About 70 per cent of delegates at the ALP’s Far Northern regional conference yesterday passed a motion calling for the rail, port and other asset privatisation plans to be scrapped."

"Labor member Stuart Traill has led a union campaign against the asset sell-off as the local head of the Queensland Council of Unions and he put the motion yesterday."

"This is causing a huge divide within the party and if the Government dosen’t change its mind it will lead to a change of government," Mr Trail warned."

This just makes my day, the same idiots that lead the re-election campaign of this corrupt and bankrupt Queensland Labor Government in the Far North last March, now doesn't like the scum that they helped elect.

The telling quote from Stuart Traill is, ""We will not be silenced." Mate you have been silenced when all the State & Federal MP's & Senators either walked out or didn't show up to the meeting before the vote!

"Karl Mallon, a scientist with Climate Risk and one of the key authors of the report, says 2014 has been calculated as the point at which there is no longer enough time to develop the industries that can deliver a low carbon economy.

"The point of no return," he said.

"If we wait until past 2014 or that's what modelling shows, then simply put, it will be impossible for industries to grow to the scale that has to be achieved in the time that is available."

"So essentially, we'll miss the target and I guess then we are left with the consequences of what happens if we go about two degrees warming."

The report is a global assessment and warns "rapid change" is crucial."

What a load of bull crap, this is the only way those morons at the WWF can get any attention from the press is to predict the end of mankind and the planet.

Early snow records set to be broken

Austria’s provincial capitals are expected to see their earliest snowfalls in history today (Mon) as Arctic air sweeps the country.

Josef Haselhofer from Vienna’s Central Agency for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG) said today (Mon) Arctic air would probably result in the first snow cover in provincial capitals before 20 October in history and said Innsbruck, Salzburg and St. Pölten were likely to see snow.

He said as much as 30 to 40 centimetres of snow was likely down to 1,200 metres and snow could fall as low as 400 metres later this week, adding it had already begun to fall in Vorarlberg. He also predicted low temperatures would be minus five degrees at higher elevations and zero degrees in the lowlands by Thursday morning.

Haselhofer warned of possible impassable snow drifts in some places and the danger of avalanches in low-lying areas.

Car club ÖAMTC reported today that chains were mandatory for all vehicles on stretches of the Arlbergstraße (L197), Lechtalstraße (L198) and the Silvretta-Hochalpenstraße (L188) in Vorarlberg.

The club said snow was falling down to 1,500 metres and the snow line would drop to as low as 900 metres in the province before it stopped snowing there.

The record for early snow in provincial capitals was set in 2007, when snow remained on the ground in some of them from 20 to 24 October. The average high in October, according to ZAMG, is 15 degrees.

The snow warnings come after weather records tumbled last week, with a number of places seeing records for the highest October temperature in many years, according to ZAMG.

It said records had been set on 7 October in Vienna-Donaufeld, with a high of 28.6 degrees, the highest in 50 years, and in Großenzersdorf, Lower Austria, with a high of 28.5 degrees, the warmest October day there in history.

LNP Members Rallies against Dennis Quick's Mis-Management of the Party in Cairns?

Apparently local LNP members here in Cairns have complained to there corrupt LNP Brisbane mates, that local LNP political hack Dennis Quick management style is driving members from the Party and has caused unrest with what remains of the membership. That Quick the former National Party stalwart and lackey to former Cairns Mayor Kevin Byrne has divided the LNP by moving former National members into positions of control over former Liberal Party members.

This is not the first time I have heard these grumblings, his handling of the last Queensland State election was a joke and a misguided farce. Polling booths went unmanned and voting material failed to make it to the polling booths and as usual former Liberal Party members had to carry the work load as former National Parry workers were no where to be found on election day.

After the State election, the slow take over by the former Nationals of the Liberal Party proceeded until the complaints to LNP HQ this month brought the LNP executive director to Cairns to try and bring the two sides together.

No information was available regarding the out come of the secret meeting on Wednesday or Thursday night. Local LNP members who attended the meeting were told, "Not to speak with the media under penalty of suspension from the Party." This is typical LNP communication with the media, threats and intimidation of the membership if they speak to us.

The Denver Post has reported that the Loveland Ski Resort in the Arapaho Basin of Colorado has announced the earliest opening of the ski resort in 40 years. So much for the Global Warming Climate Change bullshit mantra the Krudd Government has been peddling with there joke of Emmission Trading Scheme (ETS).

As always no debate and no discussion of ETS!

BTW the reason the people in the picture are laughing is they just read the Krudd Government's Emission Trading Scheme!

My former close LNP mates (past Cairns mayor) Kevin Byrne and John Vickery by coincidence have both had editorial comments published in the Cairns Post today (7-10-09). And each letter was as foggy and confused as the other. Kevin we all know why you write, but John you write and call the radio stations constantly almost pathologically, I think you just love to read and hear most anything about yourself. Mate give us all a break and put down the phone and the pen and please just get a life and spare us all of your opinions.

Gentlemen save what's left of your limited brain power for commentary that has some relevance.
